Five years ago I wrote a raving review about this kennel, but after my dogs last visit I won't return. First, an indoor XL boarding is $50 a day, yet I was charged $52 a day with no explanation, but what got me was the very unclear packages. I have a very energetic lab, so I always pay for the 'premium $25 a day' package. - early potty break - morning PLAY YARD - afternoon PLAY FIELD - afternoon PLAY YARD - evening potty break The PlAY YARD is them putting your dog in. 40x40 chain link fence kennel with mud, dirt and gravel. I've put my dog in for boarding here. I was nervous at first since he can be quite reactive to a number of things and people but I felt better once I handed him off to Adrianna. Good staff and they really know what they are doing. My dog Koda is happy every time I drop him off and pick him up. They also post daily pics of pets during their stay. I find that to be super reassuring and comforting to see whenever I see all of the babies. The staff is friendly and he has bonded with some of them. They even gave him a bandana when i came to pick him up! I will only be bringing my dog here for boarding! They're great! read more

This is our favorite place to board our dogs. Our family is all out of state, so we've had to board them several times over the years. This is by far the most comfortable for them and they seem the happiest here compared to other places we've taken them. Centennial Kennels is excellent! We didn't know if we could find a kennel to board our dog, Trip, because he's very shy and reactive to people. Amanda/owner & team developed a plan to orient him to the facility & staff over a couple week period prior to his stay. They clearly know what they are doing and love dogs! By the time we left Trip for boarding, he was comfortable with many of the staff. I loved the picture updates that they posted. We could see that Trip was comfortable with everyone and having fun. One of our main goals in finding a boarding arrangement was for Trip to be able to get out of the kennel and engage and play with the caregivers. A previous kennel we tried was not able to handle him. Centennial Kennels definitely met all of our goals for Trip's stay which gave us peace of mind and allowed us to enjoy our vacation. This is my grooming experience. I have a labradoodle which I keep a little longer, just got her in Aug and have been using Petco which has kept her cut just fine. Like a Teddy Bear cut. Never a problem but was looking for a more regular groomer since Petco was getting hard to get an appointment. Well I should have known when Centennial said they could get us in right away. The groomers were super nice, went through my dogs hair and commented on how nice her hair was and I stated she's brushed daily. She did have a couple mats around collar area. Well here we go, I get a call saying that the mats in the collar area were hurting her to much to comb them out and some in the butt hair and they were going to have to taker. her down shorter but assured me she would still be really fluffy. I got concerned and call back in 5 min and asked if they had started but they had because I was going to work on any mats myself at home. Too late. Now they are probably going to reply to this review and state my doodle was a matted mess. Trust me this was not the case. When I picked her up I was shocked. I didn't say anything, I don't like confrontation. My husband put her in the car so I didn't see the full cut until | got home. Her stomach was shaved, why? 3 razor burns, 2 cuts under her armpit, 1 bleeding nail and 2 others cut past the quick. Check out the grooming on her butt pictures. She is going crazy from the skin shaved areas, cuts and abrasions. I immediately had to go out and buy a ointment and cortisone spray, and likely will wind up in a cone for a week. I'm friends with a top retired groomer and I sent her the pictures and she stated they were some of the worse she has seen and they have no idea what they are doing. Look at my photos attached. Only good things to say about this place! We have never boarded our 3 1/2 year old Great Pyrenees/Golden Retriever until now and we are happy that the first experience was a success. We adopted him from a shelter so we are still figuring out how he does in different situations. He was boarded in an extra large kennel and he even got a bath, nails trimmed and groomed right before we picked him up. We brought his bed with him for his stayed and assumed we would just throw it out after because it would be dirty but they even washed his bed for us. Madison bathed & groomed my loving Golden Retriever, Eddie, today. Nichole the person that I followed there from another location, had an accident & had to go to emergency. Madison called to reschedule me from yesterday to today & she would handle the service, as I have company coming Sat. Eddie loves her & she did a great job. Centennial Kennels is a great place for boarding. We have been taking my husky there from the time he was a puppy to now as a 13 year old. We love that you can tailor make their stay depending on the dogs needs. There are a lot of options for walks and play time and the staff is very friendly. It seams that there's always a moderate amount of critters conglomerating there at Centennial and at times it reminds me of the movie "Doggie Daycare"! Chaotic is a better explanation! Just thinking how you one could drop or pickup our fury family members without 26-other critters barking up a storm In an attempt of greeting the next recipients. So that said, "Ponyo" is a bit nervous when we approach the grooming area and it takes the rest of the day and well into evenings channel 5-King TV news before he quits shaking. So, that said, his haircut was adequate and he's looking much dapper than he has in months. This time I had nothing but "smiles and a well groomed friend despite all the dog clamber. I will have to toss a coin as to whether or not I use a traveling groomer or a stationary establishment such as Centennial Kennel. Did they do a good job at making him looking dapper, yes! Nice job on the grooming however the calamity gets a C+. My mid-tier tip was strictly based upon the grooming. read more

I had to leave my dog here while I went on vacation with my mom. I would have preferred to have brought my dog with me but where we were going dogs are not allowed. When we got there I was told that she was only going to be let out of her kennel once a day unless we pay for extra. To me they should be let out at least two times a day and played with at least once a day. Even dogs at the Seattle King County Humane Society get let out 2 times a day to be played with and have a bigger kennel. I'm not happy how she was kept in a small kennel with a thin layer of wood chips and expected to go to the bathroom in there except for once a day being let out. If I had known there were going to be wood chips and that she was expected to urinate in her small kennel, I would not have brought her best toys and her bed. I even had to give her a bath as soon as I got home, she stank like the dog pound. When we got there to pick her up she was jumping all over me excited to see me, relieved to leave the place. She even got loose from the slip dog lead she was so excited to leave. At least I knew that she would jump right in the car when I opened the door so she wasn't loose for very long. Once I got in the car she was upset at me for leaving her there and was ignoring me. Her nice Memory Foam bed has wood chips all over it and even the bed itself has gotten fuzzy where it isn't supposed to be. The bed is supposed to be washed inside out they said they washed it but I don't know if they turned it inside out. If I had known about the Penthouse kennels, I would have been much happier, they include 4 activities a day and more of an indoor setting. My dog would barely qualify to stay in the Penthouse area due to size. If I ever go here again, I would insist on the Penthouse. I was expecting the accommodations in the Penthouse to be the norm, not the exception. read more

I last minute needed to board my cats for a three week work trip. Centennial was able to accommodate them, recommended the appropriate-sized space for them and encouraged me to bring anything meaningful to them. They were happy to see and meet my kitties. I felt comfortable leaving them and really appreciated the photo updates they shared while I was away. Picking them up was east and they were knowledgeable about the cats behaviors and personalities. If I could leave 0 stars I would. I will also be putting in a complaint with the BBB. This place truly does not care about the well-being of your pets. My dog had a grooming appointment that apparently was not put on the schedule as there was confusion which I understand-mistakes happen. But I had taken my dog to the vet the day prior for an anxiety shot and gave him the pill for anxiety. I have a yorkie with anxiety and I know he is not an easy groom so the groomer and I had discussed anxiety medicine after his last groom. On the morning of the groom, I texted and let the groomer Addilyn B. know he was calm and ready for the groom for her to say he was not on the schedule so I called and spoke with Sydney who claims to be the manager-and was told to bring him anyways due to a cancellation and they could squeeze him in. I let the groomer Addilyn know and she still refused to take him stating she did not have time- she advised me to call again to rebook. At this time I was frustrated getting the run around as my dog was already under sedation and I'm currently missing work and on my way to drop him off. So I called again to rebook and spoke with Sydney and she refused to make another appointment without reason. I even gave her the times and days Addilyn told me to and she still refused to rebook my dog. I asked for the owner and she was hesitant to give me any info. Neither Sydney nor Addilyn cared that my dog was sedated or about the well being of my pet. Neither did they care i had to miss a whole day of work. I was told the owner Amanda P would give me a call as soon as she was in but have yet to receive a call. It has only been a few hours so she may not be in yet. The groomer Addilyn B then continued to text me to cover herself stating I undermined her by calling the business she is employed by when she told me to call them to rebook as they handle her appointments and stating she is not somebodies server. These are her exact words. Not sure what this means. Moral of the story is- this company and individuals do not care about the well being of your pets nor do they respect your time. They do not take responsibility and just pass blame. Customer service is not important to them and they do not care how they make you feel when you did nothing wrong. There are multiple other boarding businesses and groomers in the area who have much better service and actually care and will put your pet's needs first. read more

We took our dog here over Thanksgiving break, as he has never been boarded before we were little skeptical of leaving him with just anyone. So before we booked him we went to check out the place. I was happy that the woman working showed us the entire facility inside/outside and the play areas. The outside play area was important to us in our decision, as Petsmart does not have that option. When we dropped our dog off they informed us that they had overbooked and upgraded our dog to the Penthouse suite (which is carpeted, slightly larger than the rest of the kennels and fewer dogs). We were happy and so was our dog. My only complaint was that our dog was suppose to have his nails clipped before we picked him up. No big deal though, they did not charge us for it and they did give him an upgrade. Next time we go out of town we will definitely board him here. read more

I really wanted to like this place. I've never boarded my cat before, and upon picking her up, two questions (and answers) were running through my mind: 1. Was my cat comfortably boarded? (Most likely) 2. Was my cat loved and truly cared for....? I don't know the answer to the second question. That, along with a couple of other issues means we won't be back to Centennial. First of all, the facility is as shown in the pictures on their website. I was a little disappointed when I saw the area where the cats are boarded, as it is directly across (just a few feet away) from some doggie kennels. But it seemed warm and relatively clean, and since I was only going to be gone for a couple of days, I figured I'd give it a try. Everything seemed okay until I picked up my cat. During pickup, I asked the young lady at the desk, "How did everything go?". The young lady asked what I meant. I clarified, "How did my cat do? Were there any problems, etc.?" Since it was the first time boarding her, I wanted to make sure she wasn't stressed or problematic - she is very vocal at home. The young lady said she didn't know since she hadn't been there for a couple of days, but that Centennial kept a notebook of any problems that occurred. She brought out a notepad with handwritten notes, looked it over, and told me that it looked like there were no notes on my cat. This bothered me a little, since I would hope they keep notes on all their boarders, but I let it go. I was then told that my total would be $45.00. This would have been great (and very reasonably priced, which is why two stars rather than one). I explained that I'd already put down a $50.00 deposit. The young lady at the front desk asked, "Oh, so you want your deposit applied to your charge?"...ummmm, yes? I had to explain that I didn't know when I would be boarding my cat again. This was apparently too much for them to handle. I finally told them just to keep the $5.00. My cat seemed okay upon arriving home, a little skittish, but I think that's to be expected, having never been boarded before. She vomited the next morning, which she never does, and it was at that point I decided, never again. She is okay, and seems to be doing well now that she's at home, but Centennial just didn't do it for me. read more

I loved the feel of Centennial, with friendly staff and a family atmosphere. Someplace where you might feel good about your dog staying for a few days. Centennial made me and Gracey, my Great Pyrenees, feel at home both coming and going. Gracie had what appears to be a wonderful stay, and Centennial will be my first call for boarding when I need to be away from my Gracie, avoiding a gut-wrenching separation anxiety. :-) If you're concerned about your canine family members while you are away, it can ruin a good time. I have only used them once. They let you bring your pets toys and bedding. Kennels seem clean. They operate as a hotel for check in and check out. I have been deterred from using them as their pick up and drop off times are usually inconvenient for me. I was also bummed that the 2 toys and 2 bones I left for my pups while they were there were tossed out, the response was that if things seems dirty they were tossed for cleanliness, well those toys and bones were brand new and unwrapped for that stay...luckily we got one toy back some how... I would like to use them again if the drop off and pick up times work out, but I won't be bringing any toys just at least bending read more

I've boarded my pitbull here 2 times now and I know we found a home away from home for our dog! Both experiences has been very pleasant. My dog comes home exhausted and very happy. what makes me feel comforted is that I can tell my dog has bonded with the staff, and the staff with him. He is fed accordingly, (I opt for their food which is no charge, it even includes a gravy on top which is a treat for my dog!) given medications if needed, and play in their own play yards. I pay a little extra for additional services like grooming ( which is a really good deal if you do it with them! ) and also extra walks. They are affordable. Even though they are almost half an hour away from us, it's worth it for us to bring him there. I've been so happy with their services and I know my dog loves it there as well! read more

I recently picked up my two small dogs from Centennial Kennels after boarding them there for four days. And what a surprise awaited me. When I dropped them off they were clean and groomed but when I picked them up they were both partially wet and stunk so bad I didn't want to put them in my car! They not only smelled bad but they were filthy. If I worked there I would have been so embarrassed to hand over dogs in that state to their owners but the two women acted as if nothing was wrong! I couldn't believe it. At that point I had no choice but to put the dogs in the car and take them home. Fortunately I had some towels with me so was able to somewhat protect the upholstery. Then I spent the next two hours bathing them and cleaning them up. Not exactly what I wanted to do after just getting home from a mini-vacation. My car did retain some of the smell so I had to air it out. My dogs are 10 and 15 and have never ever been in such deplorable condition! The reason given for their condition was that one of them had diarrhea and "walked" on the other one. Neither dog had diarrhea before they went in or since they've been home??? Strange. Nevertheless shouldn't they have cleaned them up since they were under their care instead of wetting them down and giving them to me all wet and reeking of dog poop? They didn't even use any shampoo on them and I got poop on my hands when I picked one of them up and put her in the car! Disgusting! Needless to say I will never use this facility again and do not recommend it to anyone. I would give 0 stars if that was an option. read more

Although my dog is alive and well, that is about all I can say for this kennel. She and her bedding stink!! They did not unwrapped and give her the bones I brought to keep her busy for the 5 days she was there. To add insult to frustration, I feel that I got sucked into their grooming scam. Apparently, if you get groomed on your last day than that days boarding cost is waived in exchange for the cost of grooming. However, when I called to see if she could stay for the night and could I pick her up first thing in the morning without incurring more charges. I was told that no charges would be added if she was picked up by 10 am. But when she was picked up I was suddenly no longer eligible for the free day in exchange for the cost of grooming, instead I was charged for both. I explained my conversation and spoke with the girl who told me that no more charges would be added. She apologized for her error but they refused to give me the credit of $28. The conclusion is simple, if you cannot figure out my bill and comprehend the complexities that Yes, picking her up on a day different than the grooming means you are charged $28 - than are you really able to take proper are of my dog? read more
