We have had two different dogs get to experience Unleashed on random daycare days and week-long boarding stays over the last few years. I appreciate that they are careful, selective with dogs and clients as it protects our pets and themselves as business owners. Both dogs have been so happy and soo tired when they get home - and yet can't wait for more when we pull up to Unleashed. My dog, Harry, has been going to Unleashed for about 2 years now - both for day camp and boarding. I love that he gets to wander the acreage with his pack and handler during the day, that they have downtime midday in the barn, and that they don't sleep in kennels at night. Instead they're in open rooms in the temp regulated and smoke filtered barn, sleeping on cots, always with an handler present over night. On NYE and 4th of July they play movies in the evening to drown out the fireworks for the pups. On Thanksgiving, they make them turkey and fixings. These are people who love dogs. I have peace of mind when he's there that he's with animal lovers who are trained to manage dogs at a business owned by someone who actually tries to my observations to meet or exceed the few requirements dog boarding facilities are supposed to. I drive 30 (home) to 90 minutes (work) each way because of this peace of mind.The last thing I'll add is I appreciate their communication. My dog gets attached easily to handlers and will resource guard them if he gets a little too much direct affection. They've kept me aware of when this starts to happen and what they're doing to mitigate it on their end. This facility is probably the best for a medium to high energy dog so one day Harry will outgrow it or maybe he'll get kicked out if he can't stop falling in love with the handlers, but right now I'm so grateful that Unleashed exists and for the wonderful people who work there. read more

I had an appointment to LOOK at the camp which I will tell you in advance you, the client, must pay for. Yes, that's right, after you fill out forms on top of forms, at the end you discover that you have to pay to just look at the place you are going to pay for your dog care. I5 had only 1 lane due to construction. There was a closure on I167 or I405 adding to the traffic SO I CALLED and left a message saying I would be late. When it looked like I may be even later, I called again. Three times. No one answered. I was 20 minutes late. The very shabby place had a very shabby hand painted sign LAYING ON THE GROUND at a weird angle so I passed it several times. Now I was a half hour late. You have to call to get in. This time someone answered the phone and told me I was too late to see the place. I had driven an hour and a half . It would take me two and a half to get back due to the traffic. I begged. I explained the situation again, I negotiated, which I used to be fairly adept at. There were no other cars parked there, no activity discernable to explain why I could not be seen a little late when I had notified them it was out of my control I asked to see a human face behind the assortment of gates and doors and fences desperately in need of repair, but all I got was broken recording from an employee saying there was nothing that could be done. BELIEVE THE 1 STAR REVIEWS ABOUT THE CALLOUS DISREGUARD FOR DOGS CLIENTS AND EMPLOYEES. Run away. read more

CANNOT RECOMMEND. I boarded my dog with Unleashed for a 5 night and 1 day camp stay. When I dropped my dog off I informed the staff that I sent along double her usual food (knowing she'd be running like crazy) and asked if it was okay to put her in a jacket when it's below freezing (which it was in the mornings and evenings). I was told that her weight would be monitored regularly, they'd adjust her feeding accordingly, and that it wasn't a problem with the jacket. When I picked my dog up at the facility she was in her jacket, so it wasn't until I got her home that I noticed she was down 5lbs (10% of her body weight - her ribs were showing), she had very infected abrasions/hot spots on both of her front legs, and she had a puncture wound in her upper lip. All this culminated in an immediate trip to the vet where she had to be put on antibiotics, pain meds, and in an e-collar for two weeks. None of these issues were mentioned by the staff and her "report card" was all high marks, so I can only infer one of two things happened: 1) none of this was noticed by the staff, indicating a high degree of negligence, or 2) it was noticed and was intentionally omitted by the staff, indicating a high degree of apathy and/or deceit. For the kicker, I made my feedback/concerns known by submitting a message through their client portal - it's been a week and I have not received any acknowledgment or apology for how my dog faired under their care. Given their ignorance of both their obligation to their clients' dogs' wellbeing and to their lack of acknowledgment of their clients' feedback, I cannot recommend Unleashed. read more

I would put zero if I could... I worked here for literally two days and today I requested that I be put up to $15 an hour because everyone else ( including new people doing the exact same thing as I am) is getting $15. Also, the job offer says pay is from $15-$17 an hour. While talking to the manager Jen about this, she said "well we'd have to wait for a whole other pay period, would it really make a difference". In my head I thought... obviously it's gonna make a difference otherwise everyone would just get the same pay. But I informed her that the position would most likely not be something I'd be willing to come back for if I'm only getting $14.50. I told her the tasks daily weren't something I was expecting and she replied ( with attitude) " like what walking?". She also told me that the position most likely wouldn't be for me because of " all the being on the phone and sitting". I completed 10,000 steps before my shift was over so considering that she thought I did a lot of sitting was hysterical to me. I also told her I didn't appreciate how unfair the pay was and how she talked to me. Instead of maybe apologizing or telling me that she didn't mean any these things she said well we can call today your last day. I'm just shocked at how rude Jen is. I'm honestly just sad for anyone who works here or leave their dog in the hands of this rude woman. Instead of just giving me the extra 50 cents that the site said I would receive, she decides to be rude and throw tiny little jabs at me for things that are irrelevant for the situation. NEVER WORK HERE OR LEAVE YOUR DOG HERE! As far as dog care goes, they don't do much we literally give them breakfast and dinner and they just sit outside in the hot all day. They don't have toys or much enrichment. Some dog handlers try to just walk their entire shift and try to force the hot and tired dogs to follow. I don't know how much people pay for this but I hope it's not a lot. They all sleep on dirty floors that get mopped with dirty water and the hair is just mopped over. Giving the dogs baths are nothing special. Find a trusted family member or friend because it will be a lot more worth to have your dog happy and loved than stuck here with 30 other dogs and no special care or attention is given. read more

Wow... the reviews that talk about these people taking themselves too seriously are right. I called to set up an initial evaluation and they were booked out a month just for the evaluation. Fair, lots of people are traveling and need boarding. But I explained we have a trip the second week of July and offered to pay to do the evaluation sooner and asked if there was anything they could do for us. They're stubborn... she said absolutely not and they also can't make a reservation until we do the tour. Honestly, with that attitude I'd recommend going somewhere else. I found Unleashed by sheer luck. I needed to board my dog last minute, but I'd only had him for 5 months and I was going on a 10 day trip so I was terrified. We took the initial tour and the rest is history. The environment is perfect for my dog Moe, a large, timid yet playful Doberman. Being a shelter dog/stray we aren't sure of his history so leaving him there with people and dogs he doesn't know is always a little nerve wracking but to this day, 2 1/2 years after our first visit, he still perks up when I tell him he's going to Dog Camp, and the staff always reports to me that he was comfortable and happy. There have been times where he has gotten small injuries but as someone who frequents dog parks, I know it is not possible to stop every potential accident. When the most serious incident occurred, Moe was bitten by another overexcited dog on his side. The Unleashed staff cleaned it out and took care of him. He was completely fine. Two and a half years later, the staff is great, the facility is great, the service is great, and Moe will not stop attending anytime soon. We love Unleashed! read more

We've previously boarded our dogs with the vet or with the big pet store. While it worked, it was lots of kennel time and little activity. We have an active lab and it doesn't work for us. Unleashed is dog camp as well as boarding. No kennels, lots of acres to run and staff that care about the dogs they are trusted with. They are very responsive to questions even when the humans are having separation anxiety. The best part? Our dog is exhausted and spending time recuperating from her vacation while we get to spend time recuperating from ours! read more

So glad we found Unleashed! I had procrastinated finding boarding for my 1yo pup where I could rest happy knowing he was well cared for while I had to go away on a weekend trip... During my last minute research, I came upon Unleashed and their great reviews, so I immediately contacted them to try and set up an appointment for an introductory visit, which they do on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Luckily, we were able to find a time that worked. Make sure you have paperwork of a negative fecal test within the last six months, as well as proof of current shots (Bordetella, Rabies, DHLPP), which you will need to send before your visit. I was a bit nervous heading to our introductory visit because my pup is not very fond of hooman strangers and is also a bit leash reactive. I let them know beforehand, and they assured me they'd do all they could to help him adjust. I don't know why I worried so much because my pupper had a blast once we got there! Once my pup had a chance to sniff around, they let out three friendly doggos to meet him, and cleared out the main field so that we could walk around while the doggies ran around playing. It was awesome. So much space to run around, play, nap, lounge, and anything else your doggo desires! Forgot to note that they adhere to a positive dog training philosophy, so they never use prong/shock/choke collars, spray bottles, and/or etc., in case anything ever escalates (they'll use a blowhorn as a deterrent). One of the things that sold me (and being kennel-free)! Our tour concluded after making it around the main field and answering any questions I had. I decided to leave my pupper there for the rest of the day for daycare (which was free of charge!) to let him get more comfortable and familiar before his stay for the weekend. They sent home a First Day Pawgress Report at the end of the day, which was fun to read! My pup was a very tired boy that night, as well as the next day, and just slept slept slept! When I dropped my pupper off for boarding that weekend, he was a bit nervous, particularly of the new hoomans, but he settled in nicely. I found myself constantly checking their Facebook for new pics, which they did a great job of updating daily. You can also text/email requesting for pics of your doggo if you find yourself wanting more. I ended up dropping my pupper off for boarding the next weekend as well. Again, he loved it and came home a very tired boy. They also offer other services, like baths, nail trims, and free shuttle (if you're local enough)! You can buy pre-paid daycare packages as well. I can't thank the folks at Uneashed enough for their time, effort, and compassion. We took a tour yesterday of the grounds. While it became apparent that my dog was not going to be a good fit, all the other dog guests that I encountered during the tour were having a wonderful time. My dog was stressed and did not behave appropriately for this setting and would require constant human intervention - and I appreciate the honesty of Reese in gently delivering this news to me. When I went on a 13-day vacation, my dog went to dog camp. While I played in the woods, I was pretty confident that my dog was having fun too. I have a dog with a sensitive tummy -- she gets diarrhea when she eats any type of poultry -- so I packed her kibble, canned food, and pumpkin, her glucosamine treats, fish oil, and bison lung treats along with instructions. The staff at Unleashed Boarding followed the somwhat detailed procedures that I left. When I picked Penny up, she was exhausted. I think she may have been a little disappointed to leave. We have 2 very energetic rescues. They are litter mates and with our small yard we just were not able to give them the exercise they clearly needed! I was driving them an hour and a half round trip to Redmond for months when I finally heard of Unleashed. My pups are terrible with other dogs when they're on a leash or behind a fence/glass. Our trainer highly recommended they go to an outdoor camp with other dogs to learn pack behavior which would aid in their training at home. Laurie and Josh are great! We are just outside of their pickup area so Josh is kind enough to meet me at a location nearby so I don't have to drive so far. My pups still struggle sometimes with getting over energized with other dogs but Laurie and her staff are always very patient with them. When they come home they are TIRED. We've taken our 1 year-old high energy pit bull here a few times now (for 3-10 day stays). She always comes back super tired and super obedient I can tell that Laurie really cares about each of the dog she boards. I've taken my dog other places where they're less attentive, and she comes back kind of wild. But after Unleashed trips, she's an angel. Wow, awesome, fantastic! That should be all you need to read about Unleashed Boarding. I take my dog here once, sometimes twice a week for daycare and then board him anytime I go out of town. Laurie and her staff are absolutely wonderful people who take very good care of the dogs at Unleashed. My dog has separation anxiety and has a hard time being away from my husband and I. But we know that he is taken care of when he is at Unleashed, whether it be for daycare or boarding. The facilities and the property couldn't be better for dogs. They have ample room to run around and play. You know your dog had a good day when he comes home and eats dinner and then falls asleep on the couch because he is so tired. We took our year-old German Shepherd here when her usual boarding place was booked. Heard good things from a friend, and wanted a kennel-free social experience. Our girl stayed for 5 days over Christmas, but when we got her back she had a bacterial infection, lost 8 pounds, had a hole through one ear and scars on her muzzle. We got a call about halfway through her stay stating she was growling at a handler. She's a sweetheart who has never displayed aggression towards people before or since this experience. It took us 3 weeks and multiple vet visits to heal her, and I still stay up at night thinking about how this may have altered her continued growth. So heartbroken. read more

Can't get a reservation unless you book 4 months in advance. I used them for years but now they are always booked up. They won't let you book in past a vaccination date so when you finally get the vac they are all booked up. Heaven forbid you have a family emergency - cause they're no help, they just decline your reservation and don't give a crap. I think the girl on the phone actually takes pleasure in turning you down. But when we pick her up from even a weekend at Unleashed, she has had so much fun playing with the other dogs and running through the fields that she basically sleeps for the next 24 hours. I have had a rescue lab for the last 3 years or so, and the oldest daughter has had a lab for 2 years longer. We have been using unleashed for several years. We have had the dogs picked up and dropped them off. I'm not a dog expert but we love our dogs and I can't tell you how happy I am that they are excited to get out of my jeep to go to unleashed and when Josh shows up at the house (pickup) how happy they are to get in the van. Nowhere is perfect, I've read the reviews. Sometimes they come home dirty or wet but happy and exhausted every time. If at some point my dog doesn't want to go I'll figure out why but for now happy to have a place for our pets when we can't be there. read more

Although I have no complaints regarding the services provided by Unleashed Boarding Dog Camp (UBDC), I am unhappy with UDBC's charging policy and the rather uncourteous manner which UDBC treated us.  The charging policy in question is that there's: 1) an overnight rate of $52, and 2) an additional daycamp charge of $32 if picking up after 12 noon.  So, for example, by dropping off at 2 pm and picking up by 11 am the charge includes only part 1 ($52), but if picking up by 12:01pm the charge includes both parts 1 and 2 ($84).  Note that for this example the dog does not even stay a full 24 hours, and yet the charge would be almost as if she'd stayed two days. We arranged to return from a trip so that we could pick up our dog on a Sunday morning. However, because our plane was diverted (because of mechanical difficulties), we did not arrive until the next day, so that we could only pick up on Sunday afternoon. We told UBDC about our situation and requested not to be charged the daycamp fee, but they were completely unsympathetic, and told us we were responsible for that fee. The 'sorry' they texted in response to my request felt more like an insult than an apology, and I don't accept it! Note that we have been good long-term customers of UBDC. Update May 2018- We stopped taking our puppy here. We aren't sure what happened, but our dog was no longer excited to go here. Libs would hide and jump back in the car. The first few times my husband told me I was being paranoid and kept bringing up reasons, maybe it was a staff change, maybe because my mom was dropping her off. Then she did it to her favorite person at camp (Kayla). That's when I knew it wasn't me just being paranoid and something had happened or was going on. Kayla was great and was willing to look into it and see if she could help, but we declined. Original post- We have been taking our 7 month old ACD here for about a month now. We checked out a lot of reviews and a few other places in person and Unleashed is where we decided to take our puppy. I am so impressed with this place and would highly recommend it. Our experience has been great from my first phone call, the few thereafter, our meet and greet to pickup and drop off. Good customer service is rare these days (unfortunately) and these guys still have it! I have only had great encounters with the staff. They are super responsive and patient with me checking on my puppy, questions etc. Enough about my happiness with this place. Our dog, Liberty loves this place; she isn't a huge fan of strangers and from the initial meet and greet she was following the gentleman around, didn't bark or anything. We watched one of the staff members Libs hadn't met turn barking Liberty into a calm and happy to see her Liberty. That was impressive and let us know the staff is well trained with dog behaviors. When we pull into the driveway to drop her off she gets so excited and can't get out of the car fast enough. When we pick Liberty up; she is asleep by the time we get on the freeway and she is tired all evening. I am so happy that I found a place that both of us love! I thought this would be a great place for my pup. Unfortunately, a couple hours after I dropped him off, I was told his play style was "over the top" and had been separated from the other dogs and needed to be picked up. I asked what "over the top" play meant and she couldn't give me an explanation. I asked: was he aggressive? Did he bite? Did jump or cause issues with the other dogs?? All the answers were NO!! Again I asked, what is over the top? and there wasn't a given reason. I asked that I was given a call from the [actual] person who balled by pup out and weeks later... still no call back. Boarded my dog here sat 12/15 and thought he would be fine. Found out after I picked him up there was a puncture wound in his leg. After a $250 vet bill, I reached out to the boarding facility and they had no record of anything happening to Fitz. I spoke with the manager and he stated he had to speak with the bus driver still to see if anything happened there. Funny story. I dropped him off so he shouldn't have been on a bus. Where were they taking my dog?? The manager stated if I don't hear from him, to follow up. Me follow up? This is an issue with your establishment!! After this I spoke to the manager I was able to find the owners phone number, Laurie Cox, on google. She offered a hollow apology and stated that my dogs breed can get a little rambunctious. Again, no follow up and placing the blame on my dog with absolutely NO INFORMATION on what happened. I will be reporting this further to the BBB and ASPCA for a full review. Laurie is great. Her place is a little out of the way (not for me, but it would be if you don't live in or around the East Renton/Maple Valley/Covington area), but well worth the drive. I always hated boarding my previous dog at regular kennels when I needed to be out of town. Now I have a very high-energy golden retriever puppy, and decided to board him with Laurie for a short time last month when I had to go on a business trip. Laurie is very friendly and seems very caring about the animals, and she has a gigantic property where the dogs can run around freely. I can tell my boy had a great time and got plenty of exercise, because he was the calmest I'd ever seen him when we came home! We will definitely be using Laurie's services again, and I will have confidence that my dog is well cared for. read more

We love Unleashed! Our family includes two weimaraner's who are very high energy, if you're unfamiliar with the breed. We send them to daycare at least once a week with Laurie and her fabulous staff. They know when it's daycare day and they get so excited when we leave the house. Laurie and her staff are very knowledgeable and really passionate about what they do. We've also boarded with them and the dogs had a fabulous time and came home very tired! I appreciate that they do not segregate different sized dogs, everyone plays together and it gives my big dogs a chance to socialize with all different breeds and sizes. We LOVE Unleashed! We have been sending our dog, Tribble, there for a couple of years. One of the best things is that they pick him up and drop him off, and he spends about 3 hours running and playing and comes home tired and happy. We also board him there any time we have to go away. Unleashed is THE daycare I have been searching for - no more crowded indoor playrooms for my furkid! My newly adopted 14 mo old Lab is super energetic -- she wears out my little dog after an hour so I knew she needed daycare. I checked out a few in the vicinity of home and work (Auburn and Renton) and, prior to finding Unleashed, settled for one that did not work out at all - in six full day sessions my pup only felt confident enough to play inside with one dog for less than 5 minutes - playing outside was not allowed. At Unleashed, within 5 minutes on her very first day, she was off and running with the pack! 25 Acres to race through! Dogs need to RUN and PLAY outside - just like our two-legged kids. Think twice. Our dog came home sick and limping and absolutely covered in filth after two days at this place. He's lethargic and puking too so we're having to go to the vet. We kindly asked them to be mindful of his hip that has been surgically repaired but that was ignored. The fact that the dog was dumped off at our house without his leash and food kinda says it all. After 48 hours of us reaching out for an explanation and a refund we've gotten nothing to put this experience behind us. There's a kicker here too in that we have reason to believe our boy spent about 5 hours in their car on the way to their property as we couldn't get confirmation that he arrived until 2pm. read more

We owe Laurie and Unleashed Boarding for a happy dog and a happy family. Our big boy Milo has been boarding here for the past year and a half and loves it. Milo has tons of energy, and when my wife and I had our daughter 5 months ago, we added day care for him as well. It totally calmed him down and made his transition to having a little baby sister much easier. Laurie and her employees take such good care of our boy, we have recommended her to several friend who's dogs now go there as well. Milo is rambunctious and gets into things. He tore his nail off once and Laurie was quick to take him to the vet and let me know right away. We feel so comfortable leaving our goofy dog with people who love him and take such good care of him. Haven't even been there yet, but my Co-Worker, who I really trust, HIGHLY recommended this place! I will be leaving to go back East in July for my Sister's Wedding, and I need a place to keep my 2 puppies for 6 days! They're both rescues, but one was a special case. Rescued from Taiwan, literally days away from being slaughtered and eaten, he was rescued and brought to the states! 36 hours after arriving, he had a loving home. But those 1st four months left an impact, and he's pretty skittish around people (except my fiancee and I!) He loves other dogs though, and this place sounds perfect! He'll have his new little brother there, and lots of other doggies to keep him Company, and a vet/animal behaviorist to oversee it all! It sounds like the perfect (and only place I'd trust to keep my little guys at, because this will be the 1st time I've ever been away from them! However, they'll have so much to do, and I have absolutely ZERO apprehension!) I wouldn't leave him anywhere else! I'm really excited to take them for the first time to meet the staff, and have my little guys meet some of the other puppies, and explore the 25 acres. I'm sure they'll love it. I wanted to review this place, because this is exactly what I was looking for to board my little guys for a week, and I'm so glad my Co-Worker told me about it! Will definitely utilize Laurie's services again. Laurie was recommended by my dog trainer and we booked our active Doberman for a week. He was attacked just a few days prior to his week at "camp" and needed stitches and extra TLC. We were about to cancel our reservation, understanding that the situation was more difficult than the norm but Laurie informed us that she had a much smaller crowd of pups than usual and could give Buddha all the special love and attention he needed. We were updated with photos and news of our dog doing very well. Laurie even offered to pick up extra dog food when she realized that I hadn't packed enough for my dog's stay! When we drove out to pick our dog up, we noticed that he was happy to hang out near Laurie in the front yard - comfortable enough to stay close and not run out and wander away even though he was unleashed. I'm sorry but we have to place this review out here. On Monday 8/17 we received a call that our dogs were missing from this property. They are golden retrievers and apparently they ran off to a blackberry patch regularly to play with each other, as they are sisters from the same litter. On Monday, they did not respond to an employee who called them that is was time to head home. Laurie called us and an alert was placed while we were on the property calling our dogs. One of us was on the property that night calling the dogs for several hours. I need to let it be known that these dogs always respond to us. Yet, they were not found until the next day, 24 hours later, while we were searching the trails outside the property. We were called that the dogs were found while one of us were a few miles off the property searching. We find this situation odd and do not accept that they were on the property all night. They have never avoided us and would have always come when we called. All of this would have been Ok had we have had some service recovery. But! The business owner was not terribly apologetic. We were made to feel guilty about this incident, but feel that Laurie, the owner, was at fault and irresponsible. Our dogs had been going here for seven weeks before this had happened and we never received any indication that there were behavior problems. If it was apparent that our animals were not appropriate for this day care, we never got this feed back and we NEVER received service recovery for what happened here. We are so relieved and happy that we have our dogs back but are distrustful and angry about this incident. read more

I was so glad to hear Laurie had started an off leash, run free doggie camp. We were out of town for over a week and couldn't bear the thought of our sweet boxer being in a crate for that length of time. We took him to Laurie's Unleashed and he had a blast. I checked in mid-vacation to see if everything was going okn(first time parent sending our dog to "camp"), Laurie sent us a picture of our guy curled up asleep after a long day of playtime with good doggie friends. He got a good report card from Laurie, and he was pooped when we he came home. Laurie even brought him back to us when we returned. Although her place is a little out of the way coming from Seattle, it was so worth it. I will definitely use Unleashed again in the future. read more
