Injury to my dog's nail (hard to get a good photo because her foot is small!)
    Jamie W.

Pretty disappointed with our visit here. We usually take our 25 lb corgi to Soggy Doggy for nail trims but were told they were busy today after calling in. So, just down the road is this place and I figured I'd give it a try. There were about 4 staff working (one front desk, three grooming) and none of them had masks on. I was shocked that they had no concern for COVID protocol. This was immediately concerning but because we we're already there, I decided to stay for the service. They were able to get us in fairly quickly which was a pro. I let the staff member know my dog does not like nail trims but she's never bit anyone. Typically I've gone back with her but felt uncomfortable doing so with everyone maskless. When she was done, the woman let me know they put my dog in a cone to trim her nails. She said she wanted to assure she didn't bite her. Again, she had never bitten anyone, and is a very small dog. My dog is scared of cones (when she was spayed, we had to use a surgery suit) and I would have rather gone back had I know they were going to put her in one. I paid and purchased a couple no rawhide chews - everything was standard price ($15 for trim and dremel, $6 each for the chews) but noticed some things, like wipes and shampoo, we're overpriced. When we got home, I looked at my pup's nails and one of them looks like it was slightly nicked. No wonder she'd been sulking since she got in the car for our drive home! I acknowledge her nails were long, but I'd rather have someone leave a little extra nail on than overdo it and scare my dog. I won't be recommending this place unfortunately. I'd rather go to Soggy Doggy down the road.

Ramona is amazing!!! I was pretty stressed because my pup was turned away from his first grooming appointment (different business...they required a bordatella vaccine). We had made the appointment over a month ago and I'm finding that most groomers have a very busy schedule. I called several places and each had a wait list and no openings in weeks. Well, I finally called paws in the park, and Ramona told me to come in whenever I could, and she would try to take care of me. And she kept her word! My golden doodle is happily trimmed and looking fine. I can see his eyes again! She was able to fit me in between appointments. And the price was incredible. We are now forever customers. Thank you Ramona!!

Done with her haircut and ready for a Puppachino!

I've been coming here on and off for supplies and grooming of my Australian shepherd for a few years now and I just wanted to give them props. Absolutely wonderful staff and great selection.:.. and I can't rave enough about their grooming! They always groom our Australian Shepherd to perfection! He has a very thick coat and it can be tricky... he looks amazing, smells good and he always comes home happy! Thank you Paws In The Park!

    Dog grooming

This was the best experience I've ever had at a dog groomer! The ladies were all so nice and welcoming and made my "scaredy cat" dog feel comfortable. They did an amazing job with her haircut and asked exactly what I wanted (how much off the ears, body, etc) and executed it perfectly. I would highly recommend this place!!! They also had things very clean and organized in the store. I will be back!

    What I asked for

People. There is a state wide mask mandate and a huge surge in COVID cases around the world with omicron raging. Paws in the Park DOES NOT ENFORCE MASK WEARING. Half their customers weren't wearing masks. Their employees were blatantly not wearing masks also. Not even a performative wearing of masks under their noses and chins! ‍ let me attach an infographic about how rapid the virus can transmit with and without masks. You decide what you wanna do. Dog grooming-wise, my pup barely looked recognizable when I picked him up. It's not terrible, but definitely not what I wanted. Why go through the chore of asking me what I want? I'll attach photos of what I showed the groomer (flat head, short and round snout) versus what he looked like when he came out (80's buzz cut, long mustache and chin left intact - that area gets so much saliva and food smells stuck on it ). He cut puppo's nose bridge too much which at worse shows some patches of skin. If it were just the way puppo was groomed, I probably would have just silently gone to another groomer. But the blatant lack of safety protocols is upsetting man. You know there are cases of animals and house pets catching the virus right?

This is our go-to pet store! It's further from our home, but we will not go anywhere but here. Julie, the owner, treats us like family and is always making our whole crew feel special - from our pooch to our kids. She and her whole team go above and beyond for their customers. Highly recommend Paws in the Park for all of your pet needs, from food to toys, special birthday treats and bedding - they have pretty much everything you could want, and if they don't stock it - Julie will help figure out how to get it, or suggest alternatives. They also have a full grooming suite, with amazing, compassionate groomers. Last but not least - the neighborhood community feel is unparalleled. They host a Christmas party complete with a photo shoot for your pets with Santa, and a neighborhood BBQ in the summer. They are open until 6pm during the pandemic. You won't be disappointed with your experience.

I never write Yelp reviews but the customer service and care here was incredible!!! So glad I stumbled upon this gem heading to the UPS store next door. Romana gave me the tools, knowledge, and confidence to help me get my doggo to the best he's every looked! I had already been having a hell of a day with finding a last minute groomer (everything was booked months out) to a Petco appointment telling me they wouldn't take him in when I got there. I am so fortunate to have driven by Paws in the Park. Romona immediately said let's take a look. And was able to ease my concerns with solutions and the knowledge she had! She took the extra care and time. Will be coming here for my grooming needs!

    Thank you! Love Dazi

Fantastic local pet supply store with incredibly helpful customer service. Julie (the owner) knows all of the dogs (and the human family members) by name, and she is incredibly helpful. It is wonderful to be able to support local businesses in Normandy Park!

Pepper on haircut day after her second birthday. Looking so proud!

We've been taking our dog Pepper here since she was a puppy. After two years, it's easy to say that we remain very happy with the service from groomer Jason and all the staff. Everyone is polite, the work (see photos) is first-rate. We get compliments ALL the time on how nice the dog looks, and Pepper herself drags us into the store, she is so eager to be there. Highly recommended.

They contacted me the next morning and were even patient enough to wait for me to answer (screened the call using Google assist since I did not recognize the number). Alexes was professional and asked questions about my dog to make sure it was a good fit. He has never been groomed professionally before so I appreciate that they take the time to ask about the dog as well as my expectations. I scheduled for the following week. The location is easy to find just off 153rd. I rang the bell and was greeted by Angie and Alexes. They let Gryff smell around and smell them while we chatted and I signed the consent form. My boy decided to mark their sandwich sign in the lobby (which I am so sorry for!) I had my hands full with my baby and trying to finish the paperwork but they promptly cleaned it up for me and made me feel comfortable because they didn't have an angry or negative reaction and I knew that they would stay calm with my boy and treat him well. They estimated a 3 hour session and called me after 2.5 hours to let me know they were finishing up. Upon pickup they were friendly and showed me pictures of the bath process and told me about how it went. Thankfully it went well, Gryff was well behaved and now my dog is 10lbs lighter!

I was not going to bring her to Puyallup from Burien so I looked for another groomer. I went to Pet Smart in Burien. They schedule Nova for the following Friday (today 3/27/2026) at 2:30. They knew the type of dog because they asked the questions. They quoted $90 - $120. Got home, called the son asked him what he had paid in the past, he said about $200. Today I arrive at Pet Smart at 2:25. They take one look at Nova and say this will take about 5 hours, we don't have enough time cause they over booked and they are closing today at 6:00, because they are having their floors redone. Sounds like bullshit. If your quote was low just say so I would have gladly paid more. It is a lot of work and I am willing to pay or you could have got it started and schedule another day to finish the job. So since they did not call to tell me they overbooked (bullshit) and they proved to be unreliable I went to The Wash Dog in White Center. I had the Nova with me and they booked me for this coming Tuesday and are charging $275 + the tip that I will give. These employees at The Wash Dog actually seemed to care more, but I guess when you are a small business you probably try to provide better customer service then a big box store. I highly recommend you pass on Pet Smart and try The Wash Dog in White Center. I will let you all know how it went and post a picture of The Wash Dog results, next week.
