We have been taking our dog to Green Dog Grooming for a few years. Recently, he left with a terrible haircut and nicks and cuts. The groomer claimed that because the do was matted, he scratched himself and hence the nicks. What doesn't add up is that even the tip of his tail was bruised after the haircut. Every time I pick her up, her groomer says she super fidgety and I've resorted to getting trazodone from her vet to relieve her anxiousness. However even with taking trazodone 2-3 hours before her grooming session, they say the same thing about her when we pick her up. I decided to try out another groomer elsewhere yesterday without giving her trazodone to see how she would react. She left the place NOT anxious and the groomer said she was really well behaved other than not liking her front paws to be touched. I honestly feel it's the interaction between the groomer and my dog that caused her to have such high anxiety each time. My pup has been coming here for almost 2 years and I am absolutely shocked by the way we have been treated for the 5 months. I was provided a notice several months back that the groomer my pup gets groomed will no longer be there. The most unprofessional text foremost but no biggie. I asked if they could keep in the loop and was told that they were too busy but the best thing to do was reach out periodically. I have texted probably 12 times in the past several months, called 4 or 5 times, and NO RESPONSE!! I seriously don't know whats happened here but this place went from amazing customer service to a forget you attitude. Terrible service. Got an end of day grooming appointment for my sweet mild-mannered teacup doodle puppy and she left traumatized and throwing up repeatedly for the remainder of the evening. The groomer claimed my puppy was too rambunctious and not ready for grooming. Just a week later I took her to another nearby groomer who was patient and gentle. My puppy was able to get a full wash, cut, ear cleaning, nails clipped, and gland expression with no issues. When I spoke with the veterinarian she agreed that either the groomer was unnecessarily rough and impatient or they let my puppy ingest something she shouldn't have. We will never be back. read more

I have been going here off and on for 6 years and always enjoy coming! They are the best groomers in Washington state. We have tried other grooming salons and they can never groom our Pomeranian like Green Dog. It's worth the 45 minute drive with traffic! BEST GROOMER IN KENT! Sam is awesome! I can't get my 10-month long haired dachshund, Winston, to sit still to clip his nails. I can't even do it with two people helping me hold him down. I was afraid I'd end up hurting him, so I decided to schedule a grooming session for him. The cost of a "basic bath" includes basic, brush, anal gland excretion, nail trimming, and hair trimming from private areas and paws - for $45! I'm so happy with the service and the price. It was convenient to schedule an appointment over text. If you call the number listed on Yelp, you'll most likely get the answering machine. Text instead with times you're available and a description of your dog and their needs. I scheduled an appointment for Friday morning on Wednesday afternoon. So happy to find a nice little grooming place near my work for my pup. It's great to be able to bring her nearby and know that they actually care about her and her well-being. The people who work there are really nice and took the time to make sure my girl was comfortable (or, as comfortable as she'll get at a groomer) before taking her back to get groomed. Minus one star, for now, because (sorry, this is about to be TMI), they weren't able to do my dog's anal glands. Which meant I had to spend more to take her to the vet afterwards. And if I have to go to a vet for anal glands, I'd rather do it before grooming, so she can be cleaned up afterwards. Anyway, I'm hoping it won't be an issue again, but it was kind of a bummer. (And, if it was a bummer for me, just think of the bummer it was for my dog who had to have her anal glands manipulated at the groomer and at the vet!!) read more

My first time in here went wonderfully! I always seem to have a hard dropping off my baby for his haircut because he doesn't do well with strangers. But Green Dog Grooming made sure to ask all the right questions about my dog which helped put me at ease, that he was going into caring hands. I found an amazing place to take my pet for her grooms. Green Dog Groomers is it!! When my last groomer moved away I was worried I wouldn't find a place to take my pet. They were so good to her and they did such a good job. But green dog was referred to me and I couldn't be happier at the results. They took very good care of my dog Emma and I can tell her experience was good by the way she behaved when I picked her up. They took great care with her and treated her as if she were their own pet. Took my dog here for the first time and and did not have a good experience. I have a 9 month old doodle and I showed the groomer the picture of the haircut I wanted and described what I wanted. After my husband showed up my dog was not accepted because his Rabies vaccine was not in their system. It was a complete waste of time. I do not recommend this place. I love this place. Not only are they thorough & professional, they are super nice. When my dad came to live with me I regularly brought his 2 dogs here After my dad passed I brought his Boston, Zoey, to be bathed and I asked if they would paint her nails red for his memorial party. Our first visit was today! Super nice person who groomed our Lhatese. Our dog seemed happy when I picked him up. What I noticed after going to different groomers was, this place asks for your pet's shot records. I really appreciated this!! Other places never asked! Green Dog knows your pet will be around other pets at their salon, so it makes sense to be sure all shots are up to date. Also, their store also has some treats, dog clothes, soaps, etc to buy. Conveniently located off the freeway and just down the street from Wild Wheat. Finding a good dog groomer who I feel comfortable with is hard to find. I came across Green Dog two years ago and I have enjoyed taking my two pups there. Heather has been amazing with my Pomeranian and my Yorkie/Mini American Eskimo. They always come out looking happy, clean and well groomed. They're always prompt and it takes exactly 2 hours for my dogs to finish their appointment.They are pricey, but I know my dogs have long hair and a thick undercoat which takes time and they do an amazing job. I don't mind investing in dog grooming every 3-4 months so it's not much of an issue. The place is very clean (albeit smells like wet dogs - obviously) but it's not gross or terrible they constantly have air filters running. The staff are always kind and very professional. My dog has gotten ill with a terrible cough the two times I brought him in. The first time was for anal expression, the second for a grooming service. My vet confirmed this was the most likely culprit for my pup. Instead of writing a bad review, I decided to take him to another groomer. When I tried to cancel the appointment, the owner said I needed to pay cancellation fee. First, I was never told about a cancellation fee. Second, they also confirmed less than 24 hours before the appointment so apparently they do not hold themselves to the same standards they expect others to follow. When I said I'd pay the fee no problem, but would not be returning again, the owner had the audacity to call me rude for saying I wouldn't be returning?! What?! Super upset with the interaction and experience with this groomer. This is an addition to the first review. If I could give zero stars I would. The owner replied in a lengthy response as yelp has informed her to do. The problem is she is a liar and clearly has no integrity. To claim that I was somehow being anything other than cordial is a disgusting and false statement. I tried to cancel the appointment, she let me know there is a fee, I said well there's no policy and she claims I was "told" (nothing in writing) about such policy prior to the visit. I said, no problem, I'll pay the fee and will not be returning to the establishment to which she then relied, "you're rude". It's not my fault that your interpretation of having poor customer service and subsequently losing business is "rude". But being a liar and fabricating a story sure makes you sound that way. I've been here multiple times and have never had any serious issues with Ginger's cut. They always show her love and do a great job, doing everything I ask for. The only thing I wished was done differently was that her face/head was trimmed down a little shorter but she still looks really clean and cute. If you need your pups anal glands expressed make sure you let them know otherwise they don't do it. The price is reasonable ($55) and service gets done within 3 hours or so. Update 9/29/16: changing from 3 Star to 5 star. I was really impressed how they handled the below situation. Gave us 10% off our next grooming which was today and they were very kind and apologized. I understand dogs are super wiggly so things like that can happen. Just thankful for the amazing customer service and my doggies today were quite happy and of course smelled good and looked fabulous!!! Will be back for sure!!! First time here last week. It was an ok experience. Staff were kind but the grooming is a little pricier than other places we've been to. Also one of my dogs ended up with an eye abrasion right after. Minutes after picking him up, we realized one of our dogs was squinting trying to favor his left eye which was not the case prior to the grooming. His left eye was swollen and pink we took him into Banfield and they confirmed an eye abrasion. I was visiting Kent with my little PomChi mix and she rolled in something disgusting! She needed an emergency grooming, and being away from my regular groomer I was so nervous to take my little baby girl to a new groomer- in a new town! I frantically called other pet groomers in the area and nowhere was able to take my precious pooch. They asked for my dogs shot records so I brought them in, then the gal wouldnt take it because she said i could have fudge the numbers myself. After traveling an hour to get to this place I began to run around trying to locate real vet records and they were so rude about me coming back. My dog can be a little difficult when it comes to grooming her facial area, but Jamie took her time and did a great job.
