It's twice the price of going to Petco or PetSmart but you definitely get what you pay for because I used to always be disappointed when I went there and now since coming here they never cease to amaze me. After our groomer retired we struggled to find a new one. After 6 months we found the Painted Pooch. Poor baby had a lot of Matt's after not being groomed for so long. I used to love this place. Now you never see animals in there. I didn't know why but now i do. I was getting my cats claws trimmed an employee was on the phone with a dog soaking wet and with shampoo on them. The dog is whining she continues on her call for almost 10 minute. As I left she finally got back to the dog. I get home and one of my cats claws is not trimmed. Mind you he was the only one there!! I had made my dog an appointment previously for the following week so I took my cat back in AND THEY TOOK HIM BACK AND supposedly cut it. GET HOME THEY DID NOTHING. Go back to get my dog they said that they couldn't trim his claw even though I gave him a sedative. I asked for the price to be reduced because they were unable to complete service. They said he pooped in the cage so they had to rewash him. So that have to charge the full amount. I asked about prices she said it changes every year so we don't post price. I get my dog home what was the first thing he does pooped. 4 people standing around looking as if they hate their job! After taking my B.B. to many different places, I found Lakota at The Painted Pooch, (and all the other great people there). They were so kind and gentle with my little girl. My B.B. was deathly afraid of getting her nails trimmed, but Lakota knew how to carefully and patiently trim her nails, (and long toe bean hairs) :) B.B. was always so happy and beautiful after her appointments. We've been coming here for years, and am now just leaving a review after many (many) visits. The folks here are kind, consistent, and gentle with our elderly dog. They love him, know him, and look forward to seeing him at appointments. He's a bit of a challenge, but they always comment that "he was such a good boy!" I have been getting my dogs groomed here for the last 4 - 5 years. I know how to groom, it just isn't my thing. They come every six weeks, and Lauren does a de-shed treatment every other session. Committing to frequent grooming helps prevent mats, and I always appreciate when Lauren lets me know if they have any mats that I missed, and she thins out the areas prone to matting, which is appropriate for my dog's breed. I have medium sized herding dogs, they are well trained, but they still require someone who knows how to handle them. Lauren does. I have had bad experiences in the past with prior dogs and groomers, and I never have to worry about that with Lauren and her crew. I am moving out of state and Lauren is definitely one of the businesses I will miss the most. She is always professional, quick to reach out if there are questions, and genuinely loves her clientele. read more

Today was my dog, Sadie's, first time at the Painted Pooch. Lauren, Kaitlyn, and the team went above and beyond to take care of my pup and I wish I could give more than 5-stars! They took extra time with Sadie who is a little nervous when being groomed and they were so sweet to her she came back a happy dog! Her coat is soft and shiny, her nails nice and trimmed, and she looks and smells great! Fair prices and easy payment options. Already have her next appointment scheduled. I have never been to another groomer because Natalie does such a great job. We started taking our 2 Pomeranian pups to Painted Pooch when they were 6 months old. They did such a good job grooming them and we were very happy, for the first couple of years. Then it started going downhill. We had to bring our boy Mingus back once because they hardly cut his butt, which is the most important part of grooming a Pom, or you're picking poop out of their butt hair. A couple more, less then happy, transactions and we started trying other groomers. We found a place we were happy with, but the trek there and wait around time made us decide to give Painted Pooch another try. Big mistake. Huge mistake. I do a better job on their "in between" grooms at home. Neither dog even got a sanitary cut, June still had knots behind her ears and they didn't even smell like they were bathed. The only thing I could tell had been done was their feet were trimmed and nails clipped. I would have brought them back or called that day but I just decided to call it quits for good with Painted Pooch. I finally decided to write a review because I get angry at the $$ we spent every time I'm pulling shit out of their butt hair with baby wipes. We don't have a lot of money but we prioritize taking care of our dogs, and tip well on top of that, and feel like we wasted our money here and now have to try and find somewhere that isn't booked 3 months out to pay even more to get them groomed properly. I recently moved to the area and was nervous to check out a new groomer since I loved my old one so much. But wow, I am so glad I checked out the Painted Pooch. They did such amazing work on my baby, Maui. I worked with Kelsey, she was so friendly and went above and beyond to exceed my expectations. She met me and my pup outside, she got down and greeted her and was so sweet to her while we discussed my hopes for the groom. My dog is a golden doodle, was quite matted and well overdue for a groom. Kelsey spend over 4 hours getting all the mats out of Maui. Maui came back happy, which is not always the experience after the groomer, and smelling amazing! Kelsey was able to groom Maui even better than I could've imagined. This is the best dog grooming place in ALL of Washington in my opinion. The staff truly cares about all clients and their furry friends that come in. This places grooming skills are top of the line with all their services. Also I recommend looking at the Facebook page, the pictures of all the smiles on the furry friend's faces says it all. Lauren is very nice too, her and the staff there will make you and your pet feel welcome. On a side note: I did not like the 1 star review below from 9/30/2021. Why? Because it is absolute nonsense what that customer said. When we first adopted Jasmine, I called several places to compare prices and decided I could jolly well cut 10 year old toy Poodle's hair myself. After a couple rows of cut hair that looked too scary for Halloween, I called The Painted Pooch. That was 3 years ago and Jasmine sees Natalie every six weeks. My only regret is my income doesn't allow for more than a $10 tip. We adopted a ten year old, traumatized dog. She shakes each time she goes to groomers or the vet. I've been bringing my older pup here for the last year and a half. Kyla is very patient with her and she always does a great job. The prices are reasonable and it rarely takes more than 3 hours. We always have a short consult when dropping off and picking up. She is very honest about what could and couldn't be done that day because of my dogs mood. She even found a tumor that sent us in for an early checkup at the vet, saving her life. She is now cancer free and back to be being her regular grumpy self. I could not recommend this shop enough. We lost our groomer to the covid closures. I found The Painted Pooch and made an appointment for my grumpy old man. Right away I was impressed with how much information they ask for about your dog. Everyone I talked to prior to going was great. The whole team I met when I took CJ was incredible. They took time to get to know him and handled him with such care. From the moment I found them I knew this was the place for my very old, dog aggressive, dog Roadie. But to top it off "Back of the House" manager Beau, has gone so far beyond the call of duty to make things easier for me and my baby, it's the type of service any of us rarely experience anymore. Opening early so as to avoid other dogs. Staying late so Roadie could get a good soaking for her hot spots and finally.... coming to our rescue after a serious emergency arose with my friends dog, (at her house, not even at the shop) I called Beau to ask about a good vet and instead of giving me advice, he rushed from the shop to our rescue, kindly trapping my friends terrified dog, driving her and her dog to the vet, calming both of them, then staying to make sure everything was alright. I'm from out of town and only here for a very short amount of time and yet, Beau, who hardly even knows me... has really shown the sincerest of loving kindness to me, my dog, my friend and her dog... without expecting anything in return. The Painted Pooch has provided superior service, treated my dog beyond well and gone out of their way to make her comfortable, yet with someone like Beau running the back of house, it goes beyond making sure all is well. My pup Pita has been here twice. And we couldn't have been happier! Pita looked fantastic! He's had the same groomer, Tekla, both times and she was really kind and patient with us as well as Pita. Pita has a serious vertebrae injury from an accident a few years back and has had a recent lymph node biopsy. I wish I can give them zero stars!!! HORRIBLE PLACE STAYYYYY FAR AWAY!!! I read good reviews and decided to take both of my ShihTzus there to get groomed. I took them there maybe 5 times and every single time they always tell me to expect about 4 hours which is crazy even though they had appointments each time. I agreed and tries to be understanding, until one appointment in particularl. One of the appointments they took nearly 7 HOURS!!! And they don't communicate with you, hours go by and I had to called them multiple times and no one answered.. so I decided to drive there because they close at 5 and by that time it was past closing time, their door was locked and only because they saw me pull up they answered the phone. When I got them back both dogs were shaking, they didn't bark for a whole day, they had diarrhea and one of them threw up blood!!!! They are completely healthy, young and have their regular check ups at the vet all the time. I had to take them to the E.R. because they wouldn't stop throwing up and the bill was 700.00 dollars!! They said it was due to high stress and that they were starving and scared. I called them nicely asked if maybe they gave them something to calm them or something whilebthey groomed them. I thought maybe they were allergic to something and they were rude said they don't harm the animals and I was insulting them. I was so confused. Anyways I should have ran but I tried to be understanding and I took them back they assured me they can get my dog out in under 2 hours if I scheduled mornings. Since the other one wasn't going to get groomed there anymore it should be easy since it's only one. The "OWNER" Lauren started texting me telling me I was lying that they never kept them that long that maybe I took them to the Vet for underlying conditions and that it wasn't working out, she said I insulted her and changedbthe time and said I can't rush the groomer. I told her nicely I never accused them and all I want is to have the one dog back in 2 hours because the stress is too much for her. She said I was lying and that they never keep dogs that long I told her the exact date and told her to look up that day, since they keep time stamps of check ins and outs. Then she changed her story and said they were there that long only that day because they were matted and that's why they were there so long. My point to her is why is she arguing with me when she was wrong??? I was not even mad about that at all I simply asked if I could have my dog back in 2 hours. She said if I want to keep my future appointment I can go talk to her and when I tried she sent her "Receptionist" to talk to me because Lauren didn't want to come out. The "Receptionist" super rude BTW said I provoked Lauren and Lauren had every right to get mad and answer me the way she did, I tried to reason with her and she kept cutting me off. I told her to show me where I provoked her and she raised her voice at me then I did too and she said it was assault and I was a bitch and she took a picture of my plates, canceled my appointment. They really are bad with customers. They lie, and then when others leave a review Lauren just comes on here to blame the customers and says she is happy to help but she doesn't help at all. In the picture you can see she is saying they NEVER keep them that long and when I gave her an exact date she changed her story. They are LIARS!!! It's not letting me respond directly to Lauren, they were matted because they had long hair it wasn't neglect and explain to me why you had them 7 hours if EVERY SINGLE TIME it was a full cut??? No combing just a straight cut? That take 7 hours?? I'm glad you have the videos so you can show when you kept them that long and drugged them that the ended at the E.R. of course I have the messages too and everything recorded as well. So go ahead and show every single thing. Please if you say you have proof please put it where I "attacked" her. You can't because you are a bunch of LIARS. Don't worry, I'll wait. Go ahead post them, I backed her into a corner?? Lol show the video she WALKED over there to talk to me! When I got there you refused to come outside. And your manager came out with an attitude as you can see other people have had the same experience with her. And your pattern of answering negative comments is by accusing the customers. Great customer service. You guys are LIARS and horrible people. Please! I would NEVER ever take my business to you, so you can drug my dogs again? Show that video of that day you kept them for 7 hours and see what you really did to my dogs not just what is convenient to you. You drugged my dogs. Period. That's funny Lauren when in the texts you said they were NEVER there that long and now you're changing your story. Don't make up lies show the surveillance video of that day, since you have "proof" of everything. Liar. You almost KILLED my dogs! read more

If anyone else is like me, we love our pets so much, often more than people. Grooming a cat isn't something that you can do easily, they are often not very happy about being outside of their comfort zone. This was my first time bringing my teacup Persian to the Painted Pooch and they treated her like royalty. I can't believe that I dropped her off at 9AM and she was done by 1030AM! That made me so happy to know they took care of her right away and she didn't have to spend too much time being scared around the dogs. She looks great and I can tell you that she is 100% happier without the extra fluff. The ladies there were super wonderful and they wanted to keep her because she was so sweet.
