Service has been going down for a while now but has def hit a new low. Have been going there for years because it's close but will be finding another place now. My dog went in a couple days ago for a bath, nail clip and a sanitary shave. She came home without her belly shaved or her nails clipped. They agreed to do it when I brought her back but it took leaving her for another hour. They overbook so it very chaotic and everything takes longer than it should. Dogs are left to sit in cages because they forgot to call for them to be picked up. Witnessed that myself when I saw a customer come in complaining of just that. They barely apologized. I think they only see dogs as dollar signs. My dog deserves better. read more

As much as I'd like to support this neighborhood small business, I will have to go elsewhere. The past few times I've been there have each been somehow challenging. The most recent time I took our golden, I had to take him back because I couldn't tell he'd had any cut... he was still scraggly from where his winter coat had started to fall out. The re-visit results were only slightly better. Today, when I described the cut I wanted, i was told that the usual approach was just to feather, and that I'd have to reschedule because they didn't have time for a cut. At no time during previous visits was this explained. He has had good cuts from this location, just not in the last few months. Today there was no sense of an apology or anything resembling customer care. My general impression: they don't really want (or need) my business. read more

We brought our 6 month old mini goldendoodle in for her first haircut. We were told it would be 3 to 4 hours to groom our puppy and at the 4th hour, we received a call saying our dog is, " too wiggly " and they will not be grooming her. I asked why she was sitting in a crate for 4 hours and was told she was bathed and in a drying box for part of the time. We were also told that she just needs to get used to being groomed and we could rebook for another grooming. We basically paid 80.00 for a shampoo, nail trim, paw trim, sanitary area and eye trim. We will find a groomer that doesn't leave their customers in crates for 4 hours next time. read more

First time customer, first time going to a groomers, found this place off of Yelp and gave this place a try. I wish I didn't. I won't be going back. Even if they were awarded by the news or something like that. I called them in the morning and was able to get my little boy shihtzu in at 12pm, I got my dog back around 5:30pm after I called them. They told me 3 to 4 hours at first and at 5 hours mark, I got nervous and called them. They told me he'll be ready in 30 minutes. They were nice and knew their dog information. So one star to that. The haircut on his body is short (just like how I asked for) because it'll grow back quickly! So half a star to that. However, they cut his stomach and groin area too short and his face/paws/body is uneven and choppy. I noticed some patches are short and some are longer. Now parts of his body are irritated and red. I'm so scared and nervous. He's in the cone of shame now so he cannot keep scratching his eyes and face. One more thing, his paws are not rounded, it kind of sticks up like the grinch's feet! Also, he hasn't been acting the same since the groomers. I just hope he heals quickly! read more

Took our dog in for deshedding bath and nail trim. Employee claimed our dog tried to bite several times. Which of course could have happened. She only has 2 front teeth and weighs about 15 pounds. So at that point employee should have called and asked if it was okay to put a muzzle on her while trimming her nails. Instead they kept the money and the tip but didn't trim her nails. When asked for a refund at a later time manager hung up on me and told me not to call back. Wow, interesting business practice. Won't go back, lesson learned. read more

Cherie saved my wedding!!! My sweet boy, Riley, is due to be the best man at our wedding in just 3 days. I had booked an appointment months out with my usual groomer, but they canceled on me the day of the appointment, knowing groomers in my area couldn't possibly get him booked for at least 6 weeks. We were set to be traveling through Seattle on our way to our wedding destination in Couer D'Alene when I called several groomers to no avail, as a six week or more book out seems pretty standard nowadays. Terrible, don't take your dog here unless you want an uneven cut and bold spots behind the ears. I specifically said I wanted her to have a regular Bichon cut and she was butchered. Her hair is uneven all around head and around her mouth. I paid $88 for this crap worst cut she has ever had. I really don't understand how this place has high reviews because my first time experience was awful and I waited months to get in for WHAT?? The owner has never responded to how unhappy I am with the cut. read more

My furry and non furry friends at Canine Casa are just the best, they love me and give me so much attention. My spa days consist of me getting dropped off then a long bath, brushing, cleaning my ears and glands and dremmeling my nails. I also get a handsome handkerchief at the end too! Highlights: - It was very easy to make an appointment using their online scheduler. - Our friends had an appointment 30 minutes before us, and they were able to accommodate both of us dropping off our dogs together a few minutes early. - When we picked up the pups they were all smiles and looked very fresh and clean. They also had cute little bandannas around their necks. - The price is excellent for the quality of service you receive. My lab was bathed, brushed, glands expressed, teeth and ears cleaned, nails drummeled, and lightly trimmed for $50! I'm looking forward to bringing my pup back here to get groomed again! read more

I have brought my Doodle here for baths on several occasions. I am allergic to powdery scents (asthma attack type reaction) and explicitly asked that she not be bathed in anything powdery. I picked her up and low and behold she smells like a big fluff ball of baby powder had to drive w the windows down and she had lost a lot of the scent by the time we go home, but it took several days for that stink to wear off. I made the mistake of going back there, trying to support a local business, but whatever. I asked for a #5 all over even shave for my dog. 4 hours later I still hadn't heard if she was ready or not so I called... I was informed she would be ready in 45 minutes so I headed over. I arrived and she looked like she had gotten a rough shave, still needed to be cleaned up. They were trying to tell me she was done. I informed them she was NOT and I would go to the grocery store then be back. My poor dog still looked like a freaking mess and smelled. They did NOT bathe her and they said, well we didn't have a soap you weren't allergic to which I specifically asked when I called. I am disputing the charge w my company who kind of place is this? Will NOT be returning. read more

Our dog had an appointment before noon. They said 3-4 hours. No call after 3 or 4 hours. They do not answer their phone. They did answer a text and said he was next up in the early evening. We drove down to their location and waited to be notified that our dog was done. And waited and waited. Lots of talking with customers even though two customers were waiting to pick up their dogs. Our dog is always extremely thirsty when we pick him him up. They have had our dog for 6 hours and we are still waiting. This is nuts! What is the point of an appointment? read more

Avoid this place. Really wanted to like them, but had an uncomfortable feeling dropping them off And now I know why. The place is very small, hot and horribly overcrowded. There was a man just sitting in the middle of the place for no apparent reason and was still there 5 hours later when we returned. We had two dogs, a mini black lab and a mini Aussie, the lab needed a bath, nail trim and a de-shedding brush out. The de shedding waa clearly was not delivered, as I was able to get tons of hair out myself just by petting her!! Her nails just look awful, uneven and splintered. The Aussie was a total chop job. His hair is rough and uneven. Behind one of his ears, he's shaved down to the skin! His face is completely uneven and they uneccesesarily shaved his chest! They told us they would call us in four hours to pick them up. When they didn't call, we got nervous and called and were told that they needed more time. How is that not enough time? We rushed over there only to see that we completely wasted our money and our dogs were terrified. Avoid this place until they can deliver a good service. read more

Not a huge fan of this place for grooming. It's very small and dogs are roaming around the space which makes me uncomfortable especially with unfamiliar dogs. It seemed they didn't bother cleaning their faces as they were still a little dirty and smelly when we got them home. Took them back a second time and still the same result and although the price was decent, we will likely find another spot based on the care given. I will say they did take a reservation the day before for us to drop them off so it was nice that they could accommodate us on short notice. read more

I have a husky malamute whose favorite place is not the groomer.. I've taken him a few places and when I return I can't get him to go inside he is so fearful. My dog ran right back into canine casa today ready to see his friends for a bath and brush. They are very kind and obviously patient because a bath, brush, and trim is no small ask of this bread. They are lovely, they do not complain about him when I pick him up and they make us feel very welcome back. We've only been a few times but my dog and I will be regulars. read more

My mom took two of our dogs here they said they couldn't cut one of the dogs hair around her face they said she she would snap at them to take her back after giving her a Benadryl not going to happen. They didn't cut her toe nails now I had to pay a bill of $480 for in grown nail just because I didn't check her to confirm they cut her nails.My second dog they said was great put a bandana around her neck and called it good. What they didn't tell us they had cut our dog and put a bandana around her not telling which was a big deep cut eventually we noticed it on the third day and cleaned the wound. I'm putting this review to help anyone who brings there dogs here from the huge unnecessary bill I'm paying now be careful. read more

The staff at canine casa couldn't be more welcoming, understanding, or compassionate. Our rescue cocker spaniel usually gets scared before any appointments and doesn't like leaving her humans. While she was shaking when she arrived, she settled right in with the staff and was leaned up against her groomer enjoying a rub when we picked her up. They were kind, communicative and trustworthy. We were in town visiting friends and had taken Obi, our yellow lab puppy to the dog park and was a muddy mess. We had planned to go to breakfast at the place next door. So the dog would rest in the car as we ate, but to my surprise as we drove in the parking lot there was two ladies outside of Canine Casa. I asked if they had time to give Obi a bath while we were eating, they did. It costs us $25 plus a tip and he smelled great and was so soft, all while we had a great breakfast. I would agree with the other reviews that the place could have been a bit cleaner but the staff was great and Obi seemed to enjoy himself. read more

I've been taking my special needs dog to Cherie for 5 years. She is so kind, takes her time and makes sure my dog is safe and comfortable. The place is small, but don't let that discourage you - she puts the dog's safety as her top priority and seeing the return customers everytime I'm there proves it! It's not bad, but it isn't great. They charge what I assume is average towards cheap - 45 bucks for a small long haired dog. but both times I've gone there ( recently received a badly behaved 9 y/o grumpy Maltese) they had to "look up" the haircut I asked for and corrected me on the name. When both times, both cuts were called by several different names. It's like going into a Starbucks asking for a tall and they correct you saying " I figured out it was twelve ounces. Thats what you were really asking for." Okaay. Now they were gentle with him but one of his ears wasn't finished when I dropped him off for HOURS. I didn't catch it until I was in the car. I just don't have the energy to describe someone their job. I am NOT a fan of giving someone detailed instructions on something that should be basic. I just go some other place. There are at least three more dog groomers on California. read more

Very good groomer. Nice to the animals and good at grooming. Not all places have both qualities, trust me I know. I used to own this place for 9 years. I sold it to my groomer and she to hers when she had to move. I still go there. Cherie, the now owner/groomer is very good. I totally trust in them. Go there-you won't regret it.
