I made an appt here for my dog to be groomed. I have never been to a "chain" store for grooming and was nervous.. I like to support local businesses but everyone in town was booked up and my pom was in dire need of a shave! I made an appt online the night before which was pretty convenient.. I woke up the next morning and my car battery was dead so I had to call and cancel.. got the car working and they allowed me to come in a good 20 minutes late! :) When I arrived it was before store-hours so a security guard let us in.. he was not very nice? When I approached the grooming area I noticed about 3-4 groomers just STARING at me.. I have to say they were not very sociable and I felt incredibly uncomfortable. They called about 2 1/2 hours later and said my dog was ready.. When I picked her up she seemed incredibly happy and her haircut was very impressive!! I was really happy with the job they did. It totaled 48$ for a shave, bath and nails cut. I am giving them 3 stars instead of 5 because of the odd behavior the employees had. :/ read more

This location apparently hired Tucson's very own Cesar Millan, a trainer named Jeremy. He alone is worth the five stars: He's helped me over the past year to train my rescue and he went way beyond the $100 I paid for six weeks of dog training classes. When I am stumped, and little Sophie stumps me often, Jeremy always finds a solution. Beyond that, I appreciate the staff, the prices aren't bad, just a solid business. read more

I made an appointment over the phone to have our two Shih Tzus groomed. They told me to have the Vet fax in their rabies certificates. I called the Vet, arranged for them to fax, got a confirmation call from the Vet that the fax went through. Took the dogs to the appointment and they refused service because they said they didn't receive the fax and then it was that the fax was broken. Spoke to a manager who said fax was not broken, so I asked him to print or re-print the fax from the Vet. Well he either couldn't find it or was too lazy to look for it, as he came back and said they must have sent it to the wrong number. I don't think so. Any worthwhile business should have working equipment and redundant systems and the people working there should know how to use the equipment. They wasted several hours of my time and the Vet's time. I won't be back. I refuse to work with people and businesses who are not competent. It's a fine place to get food, toys and accessories, but why not support a local business instead and perhaps enjoy good customer service. read more

Helpful advice for Petsmart on Grant: Rather than putting the containers with dead super worms on the shelf and keeping the live ones in the back. Try it in reverse. And yes people do look at things before they buy them lol Glad I did too or else I would have spent $8 on 50 dead super worms. Clerk was very upset with us after we removed the lid to look at the super worms and rolled her eyes as she went to retrieve the live ones from the back. We left the store without purchasing anything and headed to Petco. Petco had friendly staff that was eager to help. We were able to remove the lid and verify if the super worms were actually living, imagine that. Petco has fresh super worms delivered on Fridays for all you reptile lovers out there! Or try petsmart just be kind to the staff they are obviously bringing their home life baggage into the store :) read more

Very disappointed not to find holiday bandanas. Not one. They do have a great selection of Martha Stewart gear for the pet who has everything . Also, they sell the awesome Furminater, which is the only grooming instrument my curly longhair loves. read more

My dogs and i love this place! Always try to go when they have sales going on. They have a wide variety of toys and are pretty well stocked. They even allow your pets to come in with you. The staff is very caring and friendly. Whenever I have a question about a certain product, they give me a great answer or find someone who knows more about it. Even though it's a chain store, I feel like it's a nice neighborhood pet store. read more

As I look at the 4 star review, I can't help but remember. I'll start, most recently. We lost our 16 year old goldfish. Husband and daughters went for a replacement. The fish died before it ever reached home. It's returned, per their policy. We are blamed for an inadequate, dirty aquarium. Really? It freakin died 10 minutes after they left the store! The fish was never in our aquarium! After pushing, we got our replacement fish. She's doing fine, BTW. This led me into other memories of this Petsmart. We took our 2nd German shepherd to the shot clinic here, as a puppy. She didn't want the ear thermometer, but had no problem with the other. ( I hate to be technical, but the other place you take a dogs temp) I was told, by a teenage girl assisting, to "play with her ears". I informed her that you never, ever play with a shepherds ears, when they're a puppy, because it ruins the cartilage. She had no idea. No clue, no training at all. My husband told me, after we were safely away, that he heard the main person say our dog needed obedience school. Just because she didn't want something stuck in her sensitive ears? My girl was fine with the other, which shows how good she is. (If I had heard the comment, there would have been trouble. My dog is like my daughters. Smart husband kept it to himself.) I'm not finished, although you're probably tired of reading. We took our girl in to have her nails trimmed. They cut every single nail to the quick. If you're a dog owner, you know what that means. Blood, pain, blood, pain and more blood was the result. Not to mention mental damage. My girl will only let me file her nails. We can't clip them at all. Talk about work. Please, shop here if you must. Don't entrust your pets to them, though. ETA, when I posted my review I hadn't read the one before me, which is now apparently filtered. Look into the filtered reviews. It looks like the grooming center is still torturing pets. I can sympathize, believe me. read more

I took my parents dog their to get her hair cut and nails clipped. My mothers dog is 16 years old she is very old. They called me not even having her their for 30 minutes and said they cut the nail to short and that she had to have stitches. I tried talking to the lady that did it and she WASN'T available. But she knew I was going to be mad. So I had to then take my moms dog to the pet hospital inside petsmart to get stitches and I had to pay for it even though they messed up. I will never take my dogs or my families dogs their ever again not even to shop. Worst place to have your dog groomed . read more

We've brought both of our dogs to Liane for beginner and intermediate classes at PetSmart, and she is, without question, the best trainer we could imagine. She's helped us work to overcome issues with both of our dogs (one is super anxious, and one is, er, kind of slow) and we can't believe the difference in their attitudes at home or general behavior. We've been able to take both dogs many more places in public, and they're much more attentive to us when we're out and about. For example, our anxious pup now goes to the coffee shop with me in the mornings and will watch for when I ask her to "lay down" and "wait" while I pay and get my coffee. You know I will go buy anything I need for my baby here at PetSmart they always have great deals, but the GROOMING IS AWEFUL, I do not recommend bringing your dog here for GROOMING this is my reasoning to why? I had a bad experience my dog has never been put in a kennel and here he is traumatized for one and they are rough when grooming him, he gets all shaky and acts like he is scared to death, only if my dog could talk and really tell me what's going on. So I will never take him there again, I feel like putting your dog in a kennel is stupid if you ask me especially if you have a good dog that doesn't tear up anything, I walked in after picking my dog up and I know he had been barking for over a hour or more, and the guy that was grooming him just went on lunch and hadn't finished with him, at this point it was like already almost 5 hours so I just went and picked him up I was so done with this place, if you ever read headlines of things that go on at any PetSmart read the one for I think it was Pennsylvania a groomer actually had put a dog in a head lock to keep it still while trimming his nails, they cut him to short and gave the dog a HEART ATTACK the dog died and the lady is suing PetSmart, very sad story it makes my heart hurt just thinking about it , so if I were you don't get your animals GROOMED at PETSMART read more

I really wanted to give these people the benefit of the doubt. The grooming cut has always been so cute (only reason for 2 stars), but I just can't deal with their stupidity. I've been taking my dogs, Cleo and Chloe, for over a year and every single time I go it's PAINFUL checking them in. They spell Chloe, Chole. I've reminded them for the last year to please change it because every time I set up an appointment it confuses them. They had my phone number is backwards also. I've asked them EVERY visit to correct this, not just at the grant and swan location either. I went in today for Chloe's 4 week cut and now she's not even in their system. It's like a bunch of brainless high school drop outs are running the place. Won't return for my own sanity. read more

I have used this location twice for grooming and will not return. The first time my dog was groomed here, I had to bathe him when we got home because he was covered in hair clippings. The second time when I arrived to pick him up, the groomer told me that since my dog had 'yelped' when she cut his toenails, she had only cut them on one paw and then said "is that ok?" My jaw literally dropped open. I simply shook my head no (because I was too stunned to speak) and then another groomer stepped in and between the two of them sat with him on the floor and finished cutting his nails. The first two paws he didn't make a sound and then the last one he did yelp once. His cut was a shave down and it is very uneven in places. His tail wasn't even finished and the hair on either side of his nose is two different lengths. Pretty awful. read more

Took my cat in for grooming, needless to say they experience could have been better. 45 minutes later, and $31 dollars later, she was finished. Even though they requested to keep her for 4 hours. She was still wet, and hair was falling out (implying she was not brushed very well or at all). Moron by the name of Aaron helped me, and I think they must run a daycare center in there as he needed me to remind him she was a cat, her name, and I did not pay for the service yet. As I had to verbally handhold his job duties and finally get my cat, I was not happy. Look elsewhere, or drop your standards and increase your patience. read more
