Do NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMALS HERE!!! I have never taken any of my animals to petsmart groomers and I never will again. Took my puppy to get groomed, nails cut, and given a bath as we where walking out I noticed she was bleeding from her leg then I took a closer look at it and realized it was almost to the bone. There was a hole in her leg so we asked what happened and they acted like they didn't even see it. They had to sedate and give her stitches. This has been an on going problem from what I have researched and they have done nothing to fix it!!! read more

I was going to bring my dog in for a nail trim this morning. When I walked into grooming, there was a dog on a table that was definitely in destress. It was crying and biting at the lead holder. The groomer did not show concern and was chatting with another groomer and pulling on the dog's leg to cut its fur. I walked out very upset with the treatment of someone's dog. read more

I was greeted by some rude lady employee that was walking out of the building saying aww your lile 1 minute late dang it. And started laughing as she got in her car. We left our Lab and Maltese at the Petshotel for a week while we were out of town. When we came to pick them up our lab seemed fine, but we'd paid for a bath for her since she's so hard to bathe at home. Our Maltese is much easier to bathe at home so we didn't order him a bath - and he was covered in urine! He was yellow from about his neck down to his tail on his underside. He's a white dog and his paws are still yellow, despite their free grooming to somehow make up for it. We don't know for sure what happened but we're worried that he was neglected and spent the week wallowing in his own filth. We won't be using them again. read more

We are done with this place. We were customers for years. Last time there girl said she'd try and brush out tangles of my dog but would shave her down to half inch if she had to. My dog is a Yorkie. Think about that. Never had to before and this new groomer was already talking about how its obvious we don't brush our dog. Then started in about how her time is valuable (read it like "I'll do whatever I need to take as little time as possible for my benefit"). Said dog was old and couldn't take the brushing even though it'd only been 6-8 weeks since they did it last time. Didn't use to be this way. High turnover of good people. Now taking dogs to K & A Groomers in Pflugerville. Got both dogs done for about $42 less and in half the time PetSmart takes. That tells me my appointment at Petsmart is pretty much crap and my dogs sit in crates for a couple of hours because Petsmart overbooks. Suggest you go to my new groomers. I came in to get a product listed on the petsmart website as 8.99 and on the shelf when I picked it up. When the cashier rang it up the price was 11.99. I mentioned the discrepancy and the cashier called over the manager to fix the price. The manager completely blew both of us off and said "it's more expensive online" and walked away before I could say anything about the price on the shelf ALSO being 8.99 rather than 11. Extremely disappointed, and they're lucky everyone else was out of what I needed. read more

Our diabetic, toothless cat needs grain-free high-protein wet food, and our local Petsmart has the best selection of flavors for a finicky feline. The dog training area is always bustling with happy puppies and customers, both a good sign. The checkout is quick and friendly, with an associate readily available if you need help. The PetPerks card makes for some great deals, and the location makes for an easy in and out. read more

Very bad service by employee name Abby was very rude I try to let her know about the hamsters needing water her response was, "we give them water twice a day" as she continued to walked off not stopping and making sure what I was talking about it. I took my Shihtzu Julie there to be groomed. They did an awesome job, just like I asked and within 3 hours. A week later, my apartment complex said I had to have the dog out for Fire Inspections so I had her spend the week in Doggie Day Camp. She loved it. They were so sweet to her and took good care of her. I will use them for all my dog boarding too. read more

Petsmart grooming has lost all personal contact with customers. Your not allowed to book your appointments over the phone any longer. Everything has to be done online. After being a customer for 2 years I get there and of course it's always different groomers, and I get told my pet is not in the system and I have to start all over with contact information and pet vaccinations. I've had both positive and negative experience with the groomers in this location, recently the negative experiences have out numbered the positive. It seems like there is a lot of turn over in the grooming staff. Groomers frequently act inconvenienced when asked to see walk in nail trims, yet they don't make appointments for this service. I have senior dogs and they don't always gently handle their feet and they are oblivious to the fact that seniors are not as flexible as younger dogs. On my last visit a few months ago the groomer was so impatient with my dog, I decided that I will not use them for grooming or nail trims again. I am also disappointed that the store no longer carries the Ideal Balance line of dog food. The fact that they have some occasional good deals on treats and toys with their petperks card is the only thing I really like at this point. read more

DO NOT take your pets to this location for grooming! Here is why.... I have 3 dogs that have been groomed at PetSmart for 5 years. A few months ago my female dog had a cut behind her front leg when we picked her up after being groomed. I was not notified of this, but found it myself once we got home. I called and asked why I was not informed and the groomer said they were not aware she had been cut. You could see the blood clearly at a glance. I let that go, thinking everyone deserves a second chance. It wasn't very serious and they did apologize. On Oct. 29th I took all 3 of my dogs to be groomed. They were dropped off at 9 a.m. At approximately 9:58 I received a phone call from the groomer advising that my female dog had been cut on her bottom leg and it bled a little but was "nothing serious." I asked if I needed to come get her and she said "no, the bleeding has already stopped. We will have Banfield look at it as a safety precaution." At approximately 2 p.m. the groomer called to say that my dogs were ready for pickup, but they wanted to take my female dog that was cut to THEIR vet because she would probably have to have the cut on her leg glued. I was very confused and asked why it would need to be glued considering she had told me that it was not serious. She stated that Banfield was booked all day and it would be really late before they could see her. She stated that Banfield had told her they called us and we advised them WE would take her to OUR vet. This is a LIE! NO ONE ever called and spoke to me OR my husband! I advised the groomer not to take my dog anywhere, and we would be coming to pick all of them up. When I got there they brought my female dog to me and her leg was sliced open. It was bleeding a little and I was very concerned and extremely pissed. My husband asked why they did not let us know sooner than 5 hours later that it was this serious and were told "I'm so sorry." If they had called early my personal vet was open till 12 p.m. and we could have taken her immediately! THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE! We had to take her to Heart Of Texas Emergency Clinic and she received 3 staples in her leg!! PetSmart DID pay the $250 to get her taken care of. It is the VERY LEAST they could have done. I spoke to a female manager on our way out and let her know how pissed I was and that we would not be returning to get our dogs groomed or otherwise. I do not trust these people now and will NEVER get my babies groomed there or buy anything from them ever again! My dog was shaking when I dropped her off and I attributed that to her not being comfortable with riding in the car. Pay attention to your dogs behavior when you take them anywhere. I really wish I had trusted my instinct and not left her. I feel so guilty! It makes me wonder what they have done to her the numerous times I have left her in the past to be groomed. read more

I'm very disappointed about their hotel service and will never do business with this store again. I had never posted reviews, but I think this time is important because I don't want others to go through the same ordeal. My hope is that someone at PetSmart will see this and do something to prevent situations like what I'm about to explain from happening. Last May we brought our dog Oreo to the hotel to stay for two weeks while we were on vacation in Europe. Oreo was happy and healthy. On the second day, we got a call from the pet hotel, Oreo was vomiting blood; the vet gave him some drugs and also ordered x-rays, which showed that something was blocking the digestive system, that Oreo must have swallowed "something". The next days were excruciating, thinking about Oreo's well-being while trying to enjoy our vacation. Around the third day a person from the pet hotel called to recommended that Oreo spend the night at the emergency clinic for observation and for an ultrasound. Of course we approved, but the bill ended up being $1200.00 just for that night!!! ... and I had no option but to pay on the phone. Oreo eventually got better, thanks goodness!, around the 5th day. We came back from vacation on a Saturday at noon, the original plan was to pick up Oreo the next day after a bath and a haircut that we scheduled in advance. We decided to just pick him up on Saturday and cancel the bath and haircut since we couldn't wait to see him and hug him. The person at the hotel told us Oreo was a little bit stinky and that she was going to spray something on him; she offered to give him a quick bath, but we said to not to worry, we just wanted to take him home. When she brought him, Oreo was dirty and had a very strong smell, even after whatever she sprayed on him. But when they brought his bed was when I realized something was wrong. His bed was torn and the stuffing was exposed, which made me wonder if that was what Oreo swallowed in the first place. The smell from the bed was so strong that I had to ask the cashier if he could trash it, it was just disgusting. Only God knows what happened at the hotel and I can only draw conclusions. If Oreo tore his bed (which he's never done before), was because he was mad, but nobody noticed or did something about it. If he swallowed something else, the hotel needs to make sure there are no small objects in the dog areas that can be swallowed by the dogs. Also, people at the hotel knew he swallowed something and got very sick, still they left the torn bed with him with the stuffing exposed. Regarding the smell, it's not normal, it makes me wonder how clean the dog areas are and also the kind of supervision and care that is provided. Picking up Oreo and his bed in such poor condition made us sick. We feel the personnel didn't care about Oreo. I payed almost $800 for the hotel, the drugs and vet fees, almost $2000 total. It's been a few weeks now but nobody has bothered to give us a call to check. By the way, Oreo is happy and healthy again, sleeping in his clean new bed. read more

I don't recommend the groomers at the round rock location. I've brought my dog here for about the last 7 years and had never actually watched them groom through the window. This time I arrived at the promised time to pick up my dog and was told they needed thirty more minutes. While I waited, I saw a groomer roughly handle a dog on the table while it was getting cut. I will not be brining my dog back here. The customer service is poor and now I have to question their handling of the pets they service. read more

I can't say enough good things about this location. My dog is not great with other dogs, so I have had some questionable encounters at other boarding places that have left me with anxiety when I've had to leave her. However, in the two years I have been going here, they are always very accommodating for my dog, their facilities are fantastic (there is a wall between each dog kennel, as opposed to just fencing like at many other places I've seen), and the staff always remembers my dog and greets her warmly when we show up. read more

DO NOT bring your dog here! We had an appointment today and realized on the way there that we forgot his rabies info - he is a recent rescue and we wanted to get him clean and comfortable. We called the center on the way to let them know we left the document and they said as long as we weren't more than 15 mins late, we would be ok. We rushed home and to the groomer, I literally ran in just under the gun and said we were there for our appointment. At which time, our "groomer" Jourdan denied she had an appt for our dog and continued working on another dog. Once we explained his full name, she said she did have him, but he was late and continued to work on the other dog. The manager Ginger told her that we had called in, but by then it was 20 after, so she couldn't help me. I reminded her we made it by the time we were told, but she worked on the other dog and so clearly wasn't ready anyway. She then told me if we were on time, she would have put the other dog away MIDGROOMING and taken our dog. I was shocked. We were already concerned that as a rescue, our dog would be anxious, but the idea that they pass the dogs around and shuffle them through the grooming process, stopping and starting on each dog to bring in as many dogs as possible was so appalling to me, my expression of shock was LAUGHED at by Jourdan and Matthew. Apparently they find it funny that owners worry about their dogs anxiety levels. I was told by the store owner that stopping and starting grooming was a regular practice, so if you want your dog on an assembly line manned by careless fools, this is your place, but please don't feel your dog is anything more than "next in line" or that as a customer you matter. read more

I took my dog to the groomers in which the checking him in process was flawless. When I picked him up a few hours later he was not himself. I'm not that weirdo dog lady but my dog has been to groomers his whole life and this was the only time he acted very weird after picking him up. I'll never take him back. I'm not too sure what they did to him but I don't ever want to put him through that again. His hair cut was completely choppy, butchered his ears, and didn't even touch the hair that was going into his mouth from being too long. read more

I called a week ago to ask what i needed to bring my dog in to get her nails trimmed.(papers, shes a new client, etc) the lady said that I didnt need anything to just walk in and that I didnt need to set up an appt. I've used this salon twice now, and every time the staff has been rude. The first time the girl told the woman in front of me that her dog was not a good Candidate for the grooming. (By the way this dog was such a sweetie) And today the two groomers clearly argued over the computer up front. I dropped my baby off for his haircut, they told me it would be 4 hours, it's now 5 hours and counting. I'm now missing my dinner date. I will never use them again. So unprofessional. If being a dog groomer is to stressful for you, don't do it. Change your profession. And being busy is not an excuse for not having my dog ready when you say. I have taken my dog to this location for grooming 4 times over the last 2 years, Every damned time the price changes on the grooming. They find a reason to charge for anything. There is an extra 3.00 fee for weekend grooming and a 5.00 on top of that if it is a holiday weekend, which was actually the next weekend, not even that one. This last time they charged me 10.00 more than the first time and 6.00 more then the 2nd time when it wasn't even a holiday. All I hear was, well we had a recent price change. A price change TWICE in less than a year. I am not buying it. I have had it with this location. I will not take my dog back there again. Petsmart corporate needs to know about this bait and switch crap and if they are the ones behind it, I will be contacted the better business bureau. Anytime they have a sale on their website, the store has the same sale and charges a dollar more per item. If you are not careful you get ripped off. You can order the item online and pick it up in the store but that is ridiculous that you should have to do that. Make the price the same and stop GOUGING people for money. read more

My dog stayed at the pet hotel recently for about 2 weeks. He was very nervous the first couple days but really warmed up to the hotel. The staff was extremely nice and caring. I called to check on him and they gave me lots of detail and I knew he was in good hands. I called back later and they told me they are too busy to take appointments. If you are too busy why did you answer the phone? They told me to book on-line but their website doesn't work with Apple. Honestly, it's so hard to get help here. Waited over 15 minutes for help in Aquatics. Disappointing, as I used to work at a Petsmart in the 90's (and I own stock in this company) and we were better trained to assist people, and NEVER made people linger without checking in. If I could give their grooming salon 0 stars, I would. I've used PetSmart for years, it was the place me and my family always took our pets. I took my miniture schnauzer in for a grooming and told the lady exactly what I wanted. She asked if I wanted the same cut as I recieved the last time I came in, I told them no. The same size blade was fine but I wanted the full schnauzer cut, with the skirt and all. About 4 hours later I get a call saying that they still have 20-30 mins still left with him but if I'd like, I could come in and wait for him. So I came in and immediately noticed that my dog was shaved completely. I spoke with the groomer and she apologized and told me that she had misunderstood the notes. She put on a bandana for him "incase he gets embarrassed of being bald" and sent us on our way. Obviously I was not happy with the cut because him being shaved was not what I wanted. PetSmart has a satisfaction guarentee, "If you're not happy, its free". Well that is a load of crap. After calling the store several times to speak with a manager who was always mysteriously gone whenever I called, they started changing their story about what I had agreed to and what I had told the groomers. My mother even spoke to them because I was getting so upset about what the managers kept telling me and they had the balls to laugh at her and hang up. After hours and hours of arguing with them, they finally agreed to a partial refund ($40 back for a $65 shaving session) I'm saddened that they would be okay with losing a long time customer for something that was easily avoided. Especially when the groomer admitted she messed up. I will no longer EVER take my dogs or any pets to PetSmart and neither will any of my friends or family. The managers and staff were extremely rude jerks who were just trying to protect their money instead of customer care. Do not take your pets there, you will either be exteremely over charged for a cut that any groomer can do for half the price, or you will recieve something that you didn't even want in the first place, but still over charged for it. read more

On black Friday, I went in to get some guinea pig stuff, and saw NINE guinea pig babies in the cage. There where two guinea pigs, which where smaller then the rest. I asked to hold some, and the lady roughly grabbed them, dragging them across the cage. She handed one to me, which was squealing loudly, and I held him for ten minutes, just to calm him down. Then she handed me the little small one, and he sat in my arms for a while. So I took him home. She put him a super small box because he was small. so by the time I got home and set up his cage, two days later I noticed he was not eating, or drinking. So I picked him up, knowing that this could be sickness, or him just not eating cause he was adjusting. So I checked him out and saw crust on the eyes and nose. So I cleaned him up, and hand fed him. After about three hours, he was doing better. Turned out, he was dehydrated. So, I kept him, knowing if I returned him, they would let him get sick again, or end up killing him. So the next day, I weighed him and got 12.1 ounces. He was either 4 OUNCES UNDERWEIGHT or 1-MONTH-old. I know he was not underweight because his size was too small to be '2 months'. The next day we go back to get the water bottle needed because he was too small for the one we had. We stopped, talking to a random guy that was cleaning the lizard cages, and we said he was 1 month, with him saying It's not a clear estimate and they will only ship them when they're 2 months old. I didn't care because these people kept 9 guinea pigs in a 40-gallon tank. read more

We set up an appointment to board my pets for the day while the apartment complex sprayed for roaches. When I arrived there were two people standing outside talking, and offered no assistance to help me get my three pets inside. When I get inside I bring my dog in and sign paperwork to admit my dog first. They offered no help in holding my dog so I go back to the car to get my cats. Coming back inside I put my cats down to sign the paperwork and they asked if my pets have any preexisting conditions. I inform them that one of my cats has FIV (non contagious unless there's a deep wound caused by the cat) she was like oh we don't accept cats with AIDS. When we called originally they said it wouldn't be a problem. They treated my poor cat like a leper because she has a condition that isn't contagious. My assumption is each pet should be given their own room, and they wouldn't all be in one giant room together. When I adopted my cat she was mixed in with a lot of not FIV cats. They offered to keep two of my pets. Why would I pay money just to skip a whole day of work to be with one pet? On my way out they finally offered me help with my pets. I declined because my cat is too contagious for them. read more

We have been using PetsHotel since we moved to North Austin about a year ago. Our dog has come back with diarhea a couple times, which we chalked up to change in environment, but it continued to happen and when we took him to the vet, they said he had probably gotten a bacterial infection from the kennel. Just this last month was the last straw - we put our cats in the kennel for 5 nights, each with their own diet, clearly labeled. The staff gave the cats the wrong food during their entire stay. One of our cats is a senior with kidney disease and requires a special canned diet. She ended up with the pellet adult food that we give our 3-year old cat. In addition, we requested that none of the animals be fed on the morning we were going to pickup to avoid travelling uncomfortably. Guess what, everyone got fed 1 hr before we picked up at opening. We had to ride home with the windows open, if you catch my drift. We will not be putting our animals in Round Rock PetsHotel again. Following simple instructions was just too much to ask. We filed a complaint with their customer service and all we got was that they were sorry for the inconvenience and they are retraining their staff. Really? Final verdict is unprofessional, unsatisfactory and unclean. Don't risk taking your pet here. read more

To all the people who are bashing this store please keep in mind that this is a retail store and that these are peoples children no matter what age the employee is please treat them as if your child was working here and was treated as you are for the people who only tell one sided stories make it harder for customers to get the real review i take my dog her for every service and the employees are always nice i have a bull terrier and i take her to the hotel / grooming department and i am fully aware of petsmarts bull breed policy and even though my dog cannot play with other dogs she can still get a specialize playtime with employees and as for grooming they have always been nice and very understanding of her needs what some of you reviewers down there need to understand you get treated how you treat others dont expect someone to be nice to you if you are rude think about this the next time you go into a retail store! read more
