Buyers beware. We went into the store today to get our free 8 lb bag of dog food. The coupon had been mailed. Most brands don't have that size bag. Manager Javier showed us advantage and stated we could get 50% off on there treats. We went to the registrar with two treat bags. The cashier checked us out and pretended to scan one of the coupons. I stated that the charge was to high and the coupon didn't work. She said just put your card in the chip reader. She said I'll ring it up again. Same charge, then she started to peel the coupon off. I asked if the scan was on the back and she said yes. When she couldn't peel it off she yelled over to the manager and scanned a coupon posted by her register. I spoke with the manager and explained I didn't appreciate her trying to charge me more on purpose. He said sorry the coupon was hard to peel. I asked how many customers are overcharged daily on purpose. He brushed me off. Watch your charges. read more

Bottom Line: A corporate location with no loyalty to their non-profit rescue! We lived in Littlerock, CA for 5 years. In that time, we rescued over 15 dogs abandoned ("dumped") by their former owners. These included a litter of 6 puppies, another litter of 7 puppies, and at least 3 older dogs simply left in the desert. Halfway to Home (HWTH) worked with us to vaccinate, spay/neuter, and place all of these wonderful animals. They paid the costs while we fostered the puppies and brought them to the Palmdale PetSmart (39523 10th Street West, Palmdale, CA, 93551) (Store #1143) to help find them amazing homes. I cannot understand how one, single customer complaint could convince a company to abandon an 11 year partnership with an organization as wonderful as this. I regularly get 3 of my puppies groomed here, and buy all of my pet needs from this store. I will look elsewhere for my pets' needs going forward. I have shared this on social media to show the injustice of corporate political correctness over the needs of our furry friends!!!! read more

Unbelievable that PetSmart would stop Halfway to Home from providing adoptions at their store. Extremely disappointed that one screaming customer that was found to be unsuitable for adopting a dog would discontinue such a fantastic program! I adopted my Max there 5 years ado for his forever home. Totally unfounded, disgusting for PetSmart that "loves pets". I will shop elsewhere until this is reinstated. Shame on you! read more

We just learned that this PetSmart has cancelled Halfway to Home's adoption events at their store supposedly because the rescue denied someone a dog and the person complained. #1 Halfway to Home has been doing adoptions out of this store for about 12 years. #2 Halfway to Home has saved the lives of thousands of dogs over the years and the store gives people access to the dogs so people don't have to go to the shelters. Sadly, many people find it hard to view dogs in the shelters. #3 A rescue has the right to deny an adoption to anyone they choose if they feel the home isn't the right home for the dog. Rescues know the dogs, know their needs and work hard to place the dog in the right home. Being a rescue myself, I have denied many applicants when I feel it's not the right fit for my dog. I want all my adoptions to be successful and the dog and the family to be happy. If the store no longer supports Halfway to Home and the dogs in their care, I no longer support them and I will tell all of the people I contact to do the same. Shame on you PetsSmart. read more

I really don't care for this store, I took my dog for a bath and trim he is about 7lbs and ask them not to put power on him this was the third time still he was full of power and when I picked him up he had dried urine on his bully as I had already payed and tipped her I ask how they gave him a bath and didn't get his bully wet she just smiled and said he didn't need a bath I'm thinking why did I pay for it, I'm upset so I ask could she trim the hair hanging and wipe him she did and I never went back. I know I should have got my money back but I was too upset to deal with them. I was still shopping for dog food there because I got him from Half Way to Home and was told it was the best for him the H W H lady even helped me pick it out. Now they are gone so sad but I'll fine my dog food some were I'm sure. I have 4 dogs 3 from Half Way to Home great people really care about the dogs. Bad decision Pet Smart read more

It was our first time taking our puppy to get a bath, and this location was so helpful and friendly! They handled our huge four month old German Shepherd with care and treated her soooo nice. Definitely coming again! read more

This location is getting worse and worse as time past by. Kim provides a great service and my dog loves her. One time I got him a little wet even though they took 4 hours for a regular bath $43.99. The Manager is so rude and doesn't know how to talk to customers. I went for a 7pm appointment and he didn't accept my dog. He said they won't be able to finish the bath and I will have to take my dog wet because they close at 8pm. Then, why do they have 7pm appointments? The idiot blamed the website. He needs a training on how to talk to customers. read more

Be very careful, Suzanne Poth holds adoptions on Saturday and Sunday at this store and provide adoption for dogs without following proper protocol and animal control laws! She adopted a dog without calling the microchip company and did not even attempt to look for their owners!! She is also very rude and unprofessional. Think twice before adopting, you may get a dog who belongs to someone else! read more

This Petsmart is always clean and well stocked. The staff is friendly and willing to not only help you but just have a conversation if they are free for a few minutes. They are all natural pet lovers and I have never had a bad experience in the 14 months I have been shopping here! read more

Do not buy any reptiles from here. They sell them sick and they end up dieing within a month every time. My 5 yr old is devastated. This has happened with 2 bearded dragons now. The vet told us that it is VERY common that when you buy a reptile from a pet store they already have parasites from being in the cage with all the other beardies and I remembered the cage was disgusting when we bought her. Don't do it it's too sad to watch. read more

Again at Petsmart...Waiting game at the fish counter continues as always. Ask front register person Andrew to page someone...Waiting game continues...went to find someone myself. Finally a young lady and the store manager Greg..Young lady came to help followed by her incredibly disrespectful rude manager Greg. Problem is their customer service is horrible..Another employee walks by head down..Finally i get what I came for and start to walk away and Greg continues to reprimand me for asking for help. Once I am in the line he continues to have two more employees follow me to the line and continue to harass me about me asking for help. What kind of customer service is this and what kind of manager chases their customers around harassing them. Will never come back absolutely appalling how a manager Acts. In future perhaps he should have teach his employees better customer service along with himself. read more

BE CAREFUL IF YOU BRING YOUR DOG FOR GROOMING AT PETSMART ON WEST 10th STREET IN PALMDALE CALIFORNIA...they injured my dog and after I reported the injury to the manager and gave them vet information and details they still haven't contacted me...this has been over four months. I've been bringing my dog Jack there for the last six years and never had a problem but something happened to him that day. I have now put together a packet including witness statements from people who know Jack and saw how his normal behavior changed and will go directly to customer service and above if need be. If anyone else has had a problem with this grooming salon please contact me. read more

Do not send your do here to be groomed. I sent my dog 5 days ago and they did a horrible job. I believe his groomer was named Jessica. His haircut (number 5) was severely uneven and there were spots they did not even get. They did a terrible job cleaning out his ears and my family is covered in long deep scratches because they did not file his nails after cutting them. After bringing him home, I noticed his behavior changed. My poor baby shakes and acts nervous. He will not eat unless I feed it to him and he will not go potty until he cannot hold it anymore and then he refuses to use the potty pads. I do not know what they did to him and I would not get the truth if I asked...all I know is they mistreated him to the point where he is traumatized. Find another groomer for your baby. read more

it sucks for me to have to write a negative review about this place since I take my dog to get groomed here, well not really about this place but the adoption company they use. Me and my wife took our little dog (shitzu, palm mix) in there to search for a companion for her being that we both work full time jobs and are out of the house for 8-10 hours a day. Mind you we were looking for a larger dog. As we were walking through we noticed ONE dog that wasn't barking at her and trying to claw through the cage to get her. His name was Bentley, he was a beautiful boxer mix. He was super calm and allowed Thor, my little one, up to the gate to sniff and check each other out. When I went to the lady to inquire about adopting this beautiful puppy the lady looked at my little dog and proceeds to tell us how we cannot adopt a big dog when having a little dog. Don't get me wrong I understand the reservation of pairing a bigger dog with my little one but that's why we took her In the first place, but ive had big and little dogs in my life that got along great. after explaining to her how we would like to offset the little one by having a bigger dog for her to play with the lady straight cuts us off on getting him. I then proceed to ask a different lady about adopting the puppy and she runs over to the first lady and then comes back telling me that I would have to talk to her. I don't understand, its their job to get these puppies adopted and yet they wouldn't let me adopt one! Im still so upset and still don't understand why I couldn't take that beautiful puppy home and at $150 a pop she should have been begging me to take a dog. Im upset enough to ponder ever coming back to this store again, once again the store really had nothing to do with it but its left such a bitter taste in my mouth and the attitude the lady had really got to me. read more
