This family-owned business deserves 10 stars! We were going to be travelling out of the country and needed a safe boarding/training place to leave our 3-year-old wild German Shepherd. We tried every nearby boarding location in Pasadena, and they all refused my dog because he was showing aggression. We were referred to Avo, and he was our last resort. We drove from Pasadena to Palmdale to see if he would be able to take in my dog. As usual, the dog showed aggression, but Avo didn't get scared. Avo slowly worked his way to gaining the dog's trust and eventually the dog relaxed around him. It came to a point where as if my dog knew Avo for so long that that my dog was comfortably sitting next to Avo and licking him. During the 3-week period that we left our dog with Avo, my dog received top notch care, nurture, love, and training. Avo trained him to listen, understand commands, body language communication, and how take order. Of course, we still wanted our dog to have his protective quality, and Avo worked on ensuring he understands the distinction between when he needs to be aggressive and when he needs to learn to be calm. He treated my dog like his own and ensured that he was well taken care of. Before I picked him up, they also bathed and trimmed my dog's nails! By the end of the 3rd week, my dog was comfortable with Avo's whole family. We couldn't be happier and at ease knowing that we had left our dog in safe and caring hands. My dog had been traumatized from the previous groomer. for a while, I was really scared because I didn't wanna take him anywhere and they had to sedate him because he's aggressive. I was OK with putting a muzzle on him and they did so well with him so despite him moving around a lot, they were able to cut his hair give then give him a break so he could relax and gave him treats too I would say for a while I didn't groom my dog and he was very matted extremely matted and they were able to help me remove his whole coat without cutting or nicking my baby. It was our first time taking our German Shepherd to the groomers, so far there hadn't been a place where we felt comfortable enough to leave him. Luckily, we took a chance and our dog had the best first experience possible. He was still very nervous, but the owners were kind and caring, very respectful of his limitations, and made sure to reassure me that they would not pressure him or use a muzzle. When we came back to pick him up, he was fluffy and soft, smelled great! We receive we nothing but kind service from two people who genuinely care for animals, and treat them with the care they deserve. We'll be back! Don't take your dog to Palmdale Dog Wash. I took my dog on 2/17 to get groomed. When I received my dog back the owner stated that he nicked my dog and it wasn't deep, but he wanted me to bring my dog back on Sunday so he could treat the area he nicked. Turns out he didn't just "nick" my dog, he badly wounded him. I called them back and let them know I wanted to take my dog to the vet and if they could foot the bill for the vet. I was told it would cost me an arm and a leg to take my dog to the vet and they wouldn't do anything for him. Owner wouldn't accept full liability for the vet bill, but stated he would pay half just because he's a "nice guy". Well I took my dog to the vet and turns out he needed surgery for laceration repair and needed stitches. The owner never acknowledged that he did in fact wound not nick my dog, apologize, or accept any liability for wounding my dog. He told me multiple times that he doesn't have to pay for anything. All he did in fact was play the blame game from everything to my dog moving, the size of the clippers, to my dog being matted(paid $165 because of it. He knew condition beforehand and said he could do the job) Eventually he argreed to pay half not because he felt liable, but because as he stated that he is a "nice guy". Overall I was patient with these people even though they didn't hold themselves accountable. I accepted they pay half the vet bill and I even let them pay me in payments, which they didn't even bother paying me the balance. When I stopped by for the last payment I was told to reach out later on at 9 and he'd send me the last payment. Never returned any of my texts, or calls. I reached out again and only received a call back because they thought I was a potential client. Tone of voice changed when they found out it was me and I got the same run around that I'd get a call back later on. Still to this day I've never received a call back or text. Thought I could start taking my dogs here since it's right down the street from my house, but I 100% regret coming here. Would never come back, or recommend to anyone. Not worth dealing with these dishonest people. Save yourself a vet bill and headache by not coming here. It's not worth taking your dog to a groomers who's going to downplay your dogs injuries and not accept any liability when they injure your pets. read more

I thought my 4 month old rescue to Palmdale Dog Wash back in April. My puppy needed a bath, deshedding, teeth cleaning, nail clipping..... basically the works! I can not express how grateful we are to have found Palmdale Dog Wash. We have a beautiful rescue German Shepherd who has a loud powerful bark when she is scared and normally intimidates anyone around her (which has made finding a great groomer very difficult). Most people are scared of her and groomers default to a muzzle right away. Not, Palmdale Dog Wash. Avo immediately recognized our girl was not aggressive, and she was just scared. Worst experience, don't come to this place at all!! When i first Arrived, there was poop all over the ground. There was trash everywhere. They had ducks in cages, the place didn't look sanitized at all. The lady said it was because she hasn't cleaned up the place, tried to give the benefit of the doubt, still left my fur baby there. They left cuts on my dogs. Left an uneven haircut, left his paws with hair. It looks like someone practiced on my dog. Way overpriced, I paid the money and left super upset. I didn't say anything in the moment, gave myself time to calm down and called later on to speak to them and all they did was give me excuses and didn't try to satisfy or say to come right on back and that they'll fix it, they pushed it back from a week later to squeeze him back in. I didnt Want a free haircut or anything, just want my poor baby to get fixed and never come back to this place. Why would i want A free wash or cut from a place that left my dog horrible. I wasnt looking for anything free, all i wanted was them to fix the mistake they left on my dog. I would suggest for you to not trust these people with your fur baby at all. I have got to say hands down the best Dog groomers in Southern California, not only do they always do a great job at making our doggo look like the most handsomest boy, but the quality of the products used are top notch and smell so good . You can tell they really love and care about the dogs they work with , always so very friendly , another thing I truly admire about them is the communication and knowledge they share with the clients they will never do anything without permission and let's say for example your dog is matted to the point where it's almost neglect they will educate you about how to care for your dogs hair so that it doesn't become a future problem if the matting is just way to bad they will actually suggest you to go to the vet(get groomed under anesthesia) so that the animal is not at risk of being cut or in pain just all around wonderful caring people .
