My now 6 yr old pittie loves it so much that every time we're getting ready to drop him off at 2nd Home, we ask, "Do you want to go see Joe?" and he immediately runs to the garage, ready to hop into the truck, tail wagging a mile a minute! And when I return from a trip to pick him up, he hesitates getting back into the truck because he wants to stay longer. This makes my dog-mama heart so happy because I know my pup is well taken care of and comfortable. Depending on your dog's needs, Joe can accommodate with kennels, runs, or wide-open property spaces. Since mine gets along well with the others, he has the ability to run around and play-wrestle and snuggle with everyone. Joe's also communicative about how the stay is going. When your dog is more than a pet and is a member of your family, this matters so much. As I've gotten to know Joe over the years, it's also been amazing to see his team's dedication to rescuing dogs and helping foster them or find suitable fosters and adoptive homes. Joe's a dog lover through and through. Just be cautious heading up to Quail Canyon Road as the home stretch is a bumpy dirt road. But totally worth it!

It's clear that he really cares about dogs and understands their individual needs and personalities. I am a very anxious dog owner, and I always feel confident that Joe will take care of my precious pup like she was his own. I also like that it's a smaller facility so my dog gets personalized care and attention. I don't think my dog could handle one of the bigger boarding facilities, but she loves going to 2nd Home. Rocco was very reactive to cars, other dogs, cats, anything that moves fast he had to bark and chase. Not to mention obsession with tail chasing and extreme separation anxiety. The 4 week boarding training program was a perfect opportunity for Rocco to learn from Evelyne and for us as owners to better equip ourselves with training tactics. Evelyne was extremely open to our concerns during our initial consultation and created a plan specifically to his needs. Of course we were nervous to leave him for the first week - HOWEVER, Evelyne communicated with us regularly putting us at ease. I love their set up , feels warm and like home, our son always calls it our dog's hotel . I especially love the daily progress reports we get. It helps us feel at easing knowing our dogs are having a good time . The times we are here there have been plenty of people who are dropping off and there is nothing but tail wags from them which you know is a good sign . I have had nothing but good interactions with everyone here. Caroline is amazing. She's so caring to both animals and us fur parents . She treats our dog as if they were her own.
