This review is for the puppy training class I took with Dylan. At the time my puppy was 6 months old. She basically knew how to sit, and nothing else. After taking his 6 week class my puppy can now sit 100 percent of the time, lay down, leave it, and we are still working on her name recognition as well as walking on a leash. The price was a little over a hundred dollars, but well worth every penny in my opinion. Thanks Dylan!! read more

This is a really nice store but horrible service. One employee by the fish took super long to get my fish and not only that he said no to one of my friends because he "did it have the tank requirements" while the other PetSmart said it was ok. read more

The Banfield at this location is honestly great. The doctor is so friendly and she always really takes the time to explain everything to me. My dog and cat both come here and it's the only place I will bring them. read more

Very unhelpful and unfriendly. Bad experience for my german shepherd puppy.

I was unhappy with the daycare services. My lab has a ton of energy so I expected that when I dropped him off he would be worn out by the time I picked him up. This was not the case. I even walked back to see the room where the dogs play which is very small. The handler who had to be a teenager had little to no interaction with the dogs. He would even squirt the dogs with a water bottle when they barked or did anything dog like. Now thanks to that my dog is terrified of the hose. Do not bring your dog here. They will not treat your best friend as they deserve. read more

Clean store. Nice employees. Dog training is a joke. Doggy daycare is nearly worthless. Grooming was ok. Banfields is a vet mill. Great selection of Chinese made wares. read more

I wish I could give these guys more than 5 stars. We went on our trip to chicago from michigan and left our puppy Barney there for doggie daycare. This is the first time we were leaving him at daycare and we were so nervous. The staff at petsmart did an absolutely awesome job and listened to all our specifics and made us feel comfortable. My puppy has never been alone in the day and I thought he would be freaked out after leaving him for a whole day there, but surprisingly he was totally rested, happy and cheerful after coming back from the day care. We got confused of the parking system in chicago and we were clueless. As a result we were one hour late in picking him up on the first day, the manager Krenda Evans and laura there waited till 10PM!!!(the store closes at 9pm) for us to arrive, it was the most sweet thoughtful thing anyone has done to us and we are so thankful. Honestly this is the best petsmart and we are happy, we chose them. I in fact created an yelp id just to review you guys. read more

First and last time I will be coming here for any grooming services or anything for that matter. I scheduled a puppy hair trimming service and nail grinding for today Saturday, May 11th as I have a 5 month old puppy that is in desperate need of a trim. I scheduled the appointment with Lyla who I thought would be competent enough to trim my dog. Or at least grind his nails. Or give him a bath. She did nothing. I dropped him off to his appointment at 2:30 and approximately 12 minutes later I get a panicked call from Lyla stating that my dog is freaking out and wasn't doing too well during his appointment and that she basically demanded I come pick him up. Which is fine I understood he's a puppy and he most likely wasn't going to be calm during the appointment but having a panicked phone call from Lyla didn't help. Be more professional. Making it sound like my dog was going to have some sort of panic attack if I wasn't there in 2 seconds isn't ok. What also isn't ok is trying to up-sell services as I scheduled this appointment online and knew what I wanted for the appointment. Then she recommended I schedule an appointment during the weekday as there are less dogs and commotion during those days which is a hard pass for me. If you can't handle my puppy on a Saturday which is the only day I'm able to take him then I'm definitely not going to ever be comfortable taking him during the weekday or any day. I would never recommend any puppy haircuts with this facility and definitely not with Lyla. She will make it sound like your puppy died from a panic attack and then try to get you to schedule another appointment as if she or anyone there could handle any sort of puppy. read more

Everything is good price here. I like the employees they are very helpful and take time to answer any questions you have. The store is very clean and products are easy to find. Managers are very helpful and go out of their way to make sure you get what you need ! read more

My family has a new puppy and we wanted to make sure we did classes to make sure we were learning how to train properly. We have now completed Puppy class, Intermediate and are on our third which can certify our dog as "Good Citizen". Our dog loves the classes and the 2 trainers Dylan and Joe. The staff by the classroom is super friendly and knows my dogs name by heart! I would recommend these classes as long as you are committed to put in the time to practice. One other benefit is with the really cold weather, since we could not walk outside I would bring my dog to work on his training in the isles. Thank you PetSmart! read more

Staff was very friendly, however, I will never get my dog groomed there again. I asked for a puppy cut on my 3 month Maltipoo and they instead gave him bangs. Yes, my dog has bangs. They did a nice job cutting his nails down and it appeared that they treated him well, but he does not look as I hoped. The "bangs" that they gave him are choppy and uneven, think emo style bangs on a dog. NOT pleased. Pay the extra money and go somewhere not staffed by 20 year olds. : ( read more

Awful experience. I took my 2.5 years old little dog Bambi to the Petsmart located in Euclid Ave for 8:30 appointment. Somehow they told me that my reservation was on 8:00 (which is unbelievable). Anyway, they took my dog and after that I received a phone call about an hour later telling me that they simply couldn't do the grooming because it was busy hours and Bambi was so active and it would be very hard or perhaps dangerous to do the grooming. They offered me two options: let them try their best to get this done in 4 hours or take Bambi home and schedule another appointment to get rid of the busy hours. This was just ridiculous cuz I have never received any complaints about my dog's behavior during grooming before. It reminds of the previous experience that I had with this store, when we picked up my dog, there was bleeding between his nails, which I believe is because the staff there is not well trained to groom dogs. Anyway, go back to today's experience, I asked them to try their best and give them a call three hours later to pick up Bambi. When I was there, they told me that because there are fleas on my dog's skin, they put some preventives on which would add 27 more dollars. I was confused because they should at least call me to state the fact and ask me if I would like Bambi to have those preventives or not. Unfortunately, despite that they claimed calling me 3 times, I never received any phone calls from them and after I showed the cell record to them, the manager came in and told me that they could void the grooming service but I AM NOT ALLOWED TO BRING BAMBI IN FOR GROOMING SERVICES ANYMORE!! Thar was really rude and as a guest, I feel strongly offended by their behaviors. Of course, I would never come to this store for grooming service, but it shouldn't be them who could decide whether I could request grooming service or not. That's just really awful experience!! read more

This location has moved from Arlington Heights (on Rand Road) to here. It's your typical Petsmart with all of your pet's needs. I wasn't offered help at all when I was in here, and the parking is HORRIBLE. There aren't enough spots for all the people in here! It's best to buy things when they are on sale here, otherwise they are super expensive. I only come here because they have the cat food that is better for my kittie's health! Otherwise I would go to Target or something like that. read more

I took my dog to the grooming salon, I paid for express service as my Pomeranian does not like being crated but it still took two hours. My dog came home and has been acting strange since, refusing to go to the bathroom and continuously sitting on his bottom when I take him outside and even when he is in the house. I also specified to not shave him and he was shaved in various parts which may be factors of his discomfort. I do not recommend this grooming salon if you value the safety of your pet. read more

Great staff at the grooming salon and day care. They absolutely love my dog and take care of him real well. Much better set up than the Arlington heights location. read more

We take our golden doodle here for grooming. We always book with Laura as she does a fantastic job with him and he always comes back looking sharp. The staff is friendly here and do a great job with making sure you are satisfied with the outcomes. read more

LOVE this store! I have a 7 month old puppy and I take her here for practically everything. I love the doggy day camp especially. My puppy gets bored when I'm at work and this is a great way for her to get some of that energy out while getting her accustomed to being around other dogs. She is pretty scared of bigger dogs, but they keep them separated, which is great. I've watched her play a bit before they grab her and she looks like she is having so much fun! Plus she is exhausted for the rest of the day, which says a lot. (it is impossible to tucker this little girl out) The staff is always so nice and they're very sweet to the pup. The other day, I asked that she get her nails trimmed during her stay and the groomer was booked up all day, so they did it right when I got there and even COMPED it since it wasn't done when I got there. Then, I mentioned we were having some problems with her being a bit destructive during the day, and they called the trainer over right away. She talked to me all about Bella's problems and suggested the best training class for her needs. Of course, I purchased it on the spot. What would I do without this place? They make owning a dog so much easier for me. By the way, I read a comment below about someone thinking the daycare is expensive... it's actually the most affordable I've ever seen. It's $15 for a half day and $21 for the entire day. read more

Took my Chow Chow in to get a bath and specified NO CUTTING of his fur? What did the women put in the computer? TRIM ALL OVER!?! You've got to be kidding me. My gorgeous double coated chow's fur has been destroyed! If you know anything about double coated dogs it's that you NEVER EVER cut their fur as it is extremely damaging to their fur and their internal thermometers. I and my family are, to say the least, livid over what this groomer did to my dog. The manager, however, did handle the situation well. She comped his mutilation and gave us a free grooming for my other dog as I will never be returning there with my chow. Thankful for a good manager but that women who cut the chow chow's fur should never be allowed to work the desk and make appointments. How does No Cutting turn into trim all over? Working at a reception desk in America often requires that you have a decent grasp on the English language, this women clearly did not have this ability. read more

I have had a terrible experience with the Grooming salon at this location. We made an appointment for our 2 dogs and reconfirmed the vaccinations that the dogs needed. Our vet even called the day before to confirm and told the person who answered the phone the dogs have an appointment the next day. When we arrived a the grooming we were told, company policy states we can't do the dogs for 48 hours after the shots..... What!!! I called and the vet called and now you tell me we can't leave the dogs.....When I called to complain to the manager I was told by the groomers there was no manager in the store, I asked for an assistant manager and was told nope, no one there. I called back and finally got an assistant manager. (I think I was lied to by the grooming staff) the asst manager said he would talk with the manager the next day and have them call me back... That did not happen and when I called back I got a different asst manager first apologized for not getting back to me, but then put me on hold and came back and said, "I just spoke with the grooming to get their side of the story". Hey wait a minute I haven't even explained to you what happened... I really don't know what their customer service philosophy is, but obviously the customer is not a priority. We have used the pets hotel at this location many times, and have not had any problems. We have also taken our dogs there monthly for grooming without an issue. Maybe management has changed and for that reason I do not think we will be bringing our dogs there again.... read more

I like to have this store so close and convenient. And stuff is pretty kind. I wish pricing would be more affordable.

Just opened in a new location in Randhurst, moved from Arlington Heights. This location has dog and cat daycare and boarding.

5 years ago I made the best investment into my own happiness when I adopted a dog I call Gizmo at 4 months old. It was then that I started going to the Petsmart Schaumburg location started working with Renee who is now at Petsmart Mount Prospect. As a first time pet parent I have to admit I was very cautious about Gizmo and who was around him. I wanted the best of the best, after all he was my best. This being said it has being 5 years since Gizmo and I rescued each other and 5 years of working with Renee. I absolutely love her approach with large dogs, the fact that Gizmo gets excited to see her excites me as he is not like that with others. I love how when I get him back from a bath, he always looks like he has had a doggy massage and it is usually because he has. Renee remembers everything about him, the way he likes to get his nails cut, how he likes to be brushed, the easiest way to clean his ears, and the list could go on and on. One time she even surprised me by putting on a Pink Ribbon on him as I had brought him in after being diagnosed with Breast Cancer. It made me smile like no other to know that while she was his groomer, she did that without being asked. It really touched my heart and only reminds me again, why I only allow my dogs to be groomed by her. A little goes a long way and to me Renee is one of the best that Petsmart has to offer. She treats your pet the same way she would treat her own and that to me says a lot. read more

This review is on the banfield hospital at this location. The vet and assistants are nice and know what they're doing. The receptionist, Katie, doesn't seem to know what she's doing. and for some reason, she's ALWAYS the only one working. I prefer the other banfield location in niles. read more

They took my dog for doggy daycare without a reservation, but didn't tell us they were full and he would be stuck in a cage alone for most the day. If I would have known that I would have just left him at home to lounge on his bed all day instead of a cold, isolated cage. I pay for him to play not to be left alone all day. It wasn't the usual staff either, so I'm not sure if they're gone or who trained the new staff. Finding a new day care ASAP! read more

So sorry my dog likes to bark! Every employee just looked annoyed, didn't say HI to him or even acknowledge that I brought a puppy in. I happened to stop in here on the way to his vet since I had time to kill, I won't be back. When I go to Petco, EVERY single person who works there, and even some other customers come pet my puppy before I leave. When he barks, they talk to him. At PetSmart, it seems like the customers aren't even pet owners, they have nasty sour looks on their faces when we walk by. Very impersonal service and no empathy whatsoever. Thank you for reminding me the grass isn't greener elsewhere. I love Petco and the people who work there. Petco truly loves the animals they serve. Go to Mt Prospect plaza Petco, you'll be very impressed! Skip the visit to this PetSmart, not worth your time! read more

I usually go to my local Petsmart in Schaumburg, however today I stopped at this particular one. I had to purchase some food for my dog Lucky, with the intention of switching up his regular food. An employee named Emily was very nice to recommend me a brand called Blue Buffalo and my dog absolutely loves it! The staff seemed friendly and the store was clean. read more

I am livid. We've been taking our dogs to grooming here for years. The quality is uneven (and I'm not that picky) depending on the groomer but it's never been unacceptable...until today. My husband picked up the dogs and of course he just took them home without comment. We have two springer spaniels--show type with the associated long beautiful coat and ears. We ask for a show cut I brushed them out yesterday so they were free of mats. One came back with a couple of mats on the chest--I could live with that. But the other cut by "Lastenie" had his ears cut practically to the flap--they must have cut 4" of hair off so he no longer has beautiful floppy ears. Worse yet they nicked him on the top of the ear where it is shaved. His back end is uneven so I'll have to trim that up. I send the husband back to complain and we basically got a sorry "I thought his ears looked like swiss cheese so I cut them short and oh that's just a little nick, it's not bleeding." I'm sorry but WTF? Oh and the hacked cut one is an absolute lamb when it comes to grooming so there's no excuse other poor skills. Refund--of course not. "If you mention it next time we'll give you 10 bucks off.." Sure they will. If I come back, but not if "Lastenie" is there. read more

The 2 stars is for the pet hotel. I left my dog there for 2 days. The 2 people at the desk are knowledgeable about how the program works but whatever goes on when you are not there is where the 2 stars comes from. I left my dog there with her favorite pillow, and when I got it bad it smelled of urine. My dog never pees in the house so maybe I was thinking they have more than one dog in one kennel, & the other dogs were maybe marking their territory on her pillow. Upon pick up the lady was taking a long time to bring my dog back to me, I left my dog with food of course, but knowing my dog she gets very nervous when left in situations like these, and she won't eat. As I was handed my dogs food the lady said there was some left over... Shocking because I know my dog wouldn't have licked her plate clean. Also they give you a little pamphlet that tracks your pets progress while they stayed there. The food section in the pamphlet has nothing marked leaving another clue, that she did not eat during her stay. Just the thought of not knowing what goes on when your not there is why I do not recommend this pet hotel read more

I took one of my dogs here Monday and Agnieska groomed him. This groomer should never be allowed to groom a dog that requires a cut. My dog is a mess of choppy, too short hair. uneven on both sides of his face, etc. His head and face were so closely trimmed his head looks out of proportion for the size of his body. Can't recall who took care of me at "check out" but I made an appt. for my other dog to be groomed the following Sat. with a specific groomer who had groomed him before (that is the day I'm posting this review)I just returned from there ... and the appt. wasn't made for today but for the following Sat. I came to Petsmart after my previous groomer closed, and have never had any of this happen with any of my four dogs/appts. in the past 15 years. Meanwhile, any time you go there all of the employees poke at the computer endlessly and can't seem to find what they need ...so either a lousy program/computer or they are ill trained. I'd been here prior with my other dog and that groomer did a fine job ... however they tell you to allow 3 hours but call you back in 90 min. telling you to "come get your dog." read more
