Have to be honest. Came in today with my two cavaliers to get groomed. Groomer is young girl, very sweet but she definitely needs some practice before grooming anymore dogs. I told her to just "clean them up a little" as far as how much hair to take off. Anyone who knows what a cavalier is, knows the beautiful, longer coats and ears they have. I was sent a picture from the groomer with a picture of one of my cavaliers. His whole neck and part of his head were shaved so short you could see his skin. She apologized and took off $15 for each dog. I told her thank you for being upfront and went to get them. My jaw dropped when they brought them out. They were both completely shaven, they didn't even look like cavaliers anymore. And their feet were all chopped up. They also charge quite a bit, so I was expected a lot more. Women at the counter were very nice, although I was clearly struggling bringing my dogs in and I was surprised no one offered to help. I appreciated the groomer being upfront and honest with me and the $30 off for her mistake.

Goodie bag! Lots of nice items!

Ask the Community - PetSuites Arlington Heights

I need to board my cat for several days. How are they cared for at PetSuites? All of the info I've seen is focused on dogs.

Every month, there is a special day for photos that I try to fit in my schedule as they take such good photos and special days which funds their charitable organization. The staff has always been friendly and Kitsuneyoshi has never come home hurt. She gets a lot of exercise and comes home for a long nap.

I did not care for the powerful scent they were diffusing in the lobby--scents, especially that extreme, are not good for people so they are probably not good for pets, plus, what are they covering up. I am not usually bothered but, man that was really bad. I was concerned about the outdoor play area they showed through another window because it was not made for dogs at all. It is simply a fenced area that happened to be there--and the dogs have to go down concrete steps. Great if you have a larger dog. Terrible if you have a mini dachshund--a breed that is not supposed to go down stairs at all. They are supposed to use ramps. I expressed my concern and said that would be a problem unfortunately and the reply is that she could learn to use them. I know that. The point is that medically, long backed low dogs are not supposed to use steps because of the association with IVDD/paralysis. With other choices we liked better, this was not the one for us.

We took our dog here for training, doggy daycare two days a week and boarding when we were out of town. It cost us thousands of dollars. Our pup successfully learned to sit and stay and lay down and all the other things you expect a dog to know. He will do pretty much anything for a treat. Everything was fine for several months. The feedback we received about our admittedly rambunctious dog was routinely positive. They regularly sent pictures and videos of him playing and having fun. Then some of the good, experienced staff left. In hindsight this should have been a big red flag for us. Apparently, most of the new and remaining staff doesn't know how to deal with animals. Suddenly, our dog, which they trained, was not well behaved enough for them. A few days later they called to say he is no longer welcome here. No conversation. No discussion of more training, if that was their actual concern. Nothing constructive to offer at all. They didn't even have the balls to do it in person. Don't waste your time! All they want is your money. They don't give a damn about your pets!

The smell upon entering was not wet dog but more like sewage, very unpleasant, as I moved towards the wash stations the smell faded The wash station was dirty, hair still in the tub from the previous user Very watery shampoo (no labels to know what you're actually using) I suppose they dilute it so it lathers more quickly, but if I returned I'd bring my own. Water pressure is great, but water temperature never really got warm. The towels are quite raggedy & not absorbent. The blow dry was miserable between all the fur on the unswept floor blowing around, & not having a place to put my pet while drying. $24/per hour is increased from the $20 I was told by another customer but again I tried to call to inquire on pricing & products and got no answer.

They give you a little shower with hose, a blow dryer, shampoo, conditioner, brushes, a towel, and a few treats. For $20 this was perfect. I wish I had taken some pictures, because it was the perfect setup! I walked in without an appointment and got right in. I was in and out in less than 15 minutes. The girls working at DD were friendly and helpful. I'll be back. Highly recommended!
