I want to make others aware of my experience with Laura from July 2025. Laura did provide photo and video updates of our cats while we were away, which my wife and I appreciated.
My daughter turned 7 on July 16th. We woke her up in her bedroom with cupcakes, sang happy birthday and gave her an Ulta gift card. Since she is only seven, I keep hold of her belongings. Because her birthday fell on a weekday, we had our little morning birthday celebration and then I left for work and my daughter went to camp. The gift card was left by me on top of my bedroom dresser. It remained there untouched from July 16th until the weekend.
That weekend (July 19th), Laura was cat sitting for us while we went to Jellystone Park to celebrate our daughter's birthday. Before leaving, I told my daughter that when we returned from our camping trip, I would take her to Ulta so she could use her gift card. We were only gone two nights.
When we came home, the gift card was missing. I noticed it immediately because my daughter asked to go to Ulta as soon as we walked in the door. Again, mind you, we were only gone two nights. It is not like weeks went by and maybe I forgot where I placed the gift card.. It was only two nights. I very much knew exactly where I had left it before our camping trip.
I did not confront Laura because 1) I had no direct proof. 2) I understand I left something of value out in plain sight. And 3) I hoped maybe by luck it would eventually turn up after a few months. However, I also knew it was there before we left and gone when we returned. I am simply sharing my experience so others can take precautions. If you choose to book with her, I strongly recommend locking away or securing any valuables before leaving. There was no reason for her to need access to the upstairs bedrooms, as our cats stay primarily downstairs in the living room and basement where their food and litter boxes are located. I attached texts from that time period, so people do not think I am just randomly posting a review in February to bash her business. Again, she took great care of our cats and they seemed happy from the videos and pictures. However, do not trust Laura with your valuables. Lock them away. read more
