My family and I recently got on the bus of becoming dog owners. That said, we needed a groomer, and The Grooming Spa was where our friend told us to go! Upon entering, you will catch the warm, welcoming vibe from being greeted, the decor, and doggy customers. Personal attention, customer service, and a true love of dogs and the art of dog grooming are the hallmarks of The Grooming Spa experience. Services are by appointment only, so be sure to call and get on their schedule as they're well booked! We have been taking our Golden Retriever Basil to Petsmart since we got her. It has been hit or miss with more miss. Spending money on grooming is not cheap and we got sick of wasting our money and not getting services done or done correctly. I found the Grooming Spa and scheduled an appointment for our pup. Rebecca is so nice and knowledgeable. We discussed what we wanted, how we wanted it and left our pup to get serviced. When we came to pick her up a couple of ours later we were happy. The best doggy grooming spot ever! They don't take in multiple dogs at once so your pup isn't waiting for their turn. The whole salon is visible so you can see what goes on compared to other salons they have windows boarded up and closed doors (everyone here is so patient and loving to the pups). They did the exact haircut I asked for and more! My pup had previous grooming errors from a different groomer and they fixed them all! My previous groomer said she was difficult to work with (which did not sound like my dog would act like that because I desensitized her to most grooming) and here they said she did great. At previous salon my dog left upset and crying and here she was super happy. I trust this business 100% with my baby, I am beyond happy with my visit here at the grooming spa. I took my 4 month old Goldendoodle for her first haircut. It was the best experience. Our last dog went to Petsmart for grooming. The experience was night and day. First off, your pup is in and out. You dog doesn't have to wait in a crate to get groomed. Also, women at The Grooming Spa seem to really love their jobs and take pride in their work. Just an update to the review: it's been almost a year now since we've been going to The Grooming Spa for Wrigley's hair cuts. I honestly cannot believe we EVER went anywhere else but here. Every single time Wrigley comes back from them, he is so happy. His haircuts are always perfect. The main reason i wanted to do an update is because this last time he went, he had a skin infection on his paw. My husband mentioned it when he dropped him off but i was still very worried about it. They were so careful with him during his appointment and i could tell how meticulous they were when working around his paw that it even came back looking better. Thank you so much for not only grooming him to perfection, but also genuinely caring about Wrigley. We are always recommending you guys to all of our friends and we will continue to do so! We just moved down the street and were so excited to see these guys were so close to us! We just moved back from Boston, so we were looking for a new groomer for our Goldendoodle. I will never be going anywhere else but here!!! These ladies are truly the best. Our pup Wrigley was dropped off at 2pm for a full groom. Rebecca asked me exactly what I wanted for Wrigley and made sure she got all the details before I left. Usually when I drop him off anywhere else, I won't get a call for 4 or 5, (sometimes even 6), hours. I picked Wrigley up at 4! He was there for TWO hours. There are no crates. They only take two dogs at a time, so your dog has constant one on one attention. I seriously love that, because Wrigley hates crates and it makes me nervous dropping him off somewhere I know he will be alone for hours at a time. Not to mention his haircut was literally perfect. He was cut exactly the way I wanted him to be cut and he even got a cute bandana :)! Thank you ladies for GREAT service. You will be seeing us more often!! read more

I switched to this spa on the recommendation from a neighbor (after I was dissatisfied with another groomer in the Top 10 list) and I am so glad I did! First of all, I like having an appointment and not just a drop off time. At my last groomer, they gave me an appointment time but I didn't get to pick up my dog until 4 or 5 hours later. At The Grooming Spa I get my dog back in 1.5 hours. That's an appointment!! I really don't want my pup there any longer than she needs to be. It's a busy place so you have to book your appointments early, but it's worth it. The staff is amazing! read more

We had a 5 month old cockapoo puppy that desperately needed to get her first haircut. We got a recommendation from a neighbor for the grooming spa. When I called they detailed how they take care to not stress out the puppy as much as possible during the grooming process. I was sold. They guided us through how much to cut off the first time and really seemed to love dogs. It's a small place but it smells great when you first step in the door and it feels like a high end salon for dogs to me. A little over an hour later she was done. This place is wonderful. The women whom work here are always incredibly kind and clearly know what they are doing. However extremely hard to get into to(I'm fine waiting for quality) There's no cages and as far as I'm aware they only take one dog at at time so they are very quick,I used to wait 5hrs at other places. I have a chow,who despises going to the groomer,vet basically anything he's not 100% aware of what's going on. And although he's never excited to go into the grooming spa, he's often been calmly waiting inside when we pick him up and always looks beautiful. read more

LOVE the grooming spa! Cannot say enough great things about them! My dog is treated as their own here. He isn't particularly fond of getting groomed as he's had some bad experiences in the past with other groomers, but I can honestly say he loves it here! The staff is WONDERFUL! They're so friendly and truly listen to all your needs. Each time I go in my dog has a problem area (sore spots on tail, or has been biting his fur due to allergies, etc.) and they do a great job working around those spots. They take it upon themselves to treat his coat with the right shampoos and conditioners based oh his needs. For example they'll let me know they used an oatmeal based shampoo because they noticed he had dry skin-just another example of them being thoughtful! Be sure to tip these ladies well! This is a haven for my two small Yorkies! I am picky so I'm so lucky to have found this place and can't imagine why some of the great reviews are filtered because the customers forgot to include the stars. This place is clean, cage free and a place for small breed happiness as they get so much love and attention! I love that is by appointment and I'm not waiting hours for my dogs. Honestly if I could give 10 stars I would! This place was amazing from the moment I booked my appointment to the time I picked up my dog! I have always been very apprehensive about bringing my dog to grooming salons because you hear of the horror stories or your poor dog comes home acting like you dropped them off at the worst place imaginable. My dog did not come home hating me at all for taking him there. It's hard to find someone who will agree to buzz a golden and even harder to find someone who does a fabulous job! I've been taking my dogs to The Grooming Spa for about 4 years now and I wouldn't consider taking them anywhere else! Two years ago, I moved back to the city of Chicago and I STILL make the trek out to Arlington Heights just so that my rescued maltese/chihuahua mix can have her hair cut by Kristina and Rose. They have never been short of fabulous to my dogs (my other chihuahua mix only requires an occasional bath) and I will continue to refer friends and family to them. Their team not only does a beautiful job with my dog's haircut, but their customer service is outstanding. Their entire team has always treated us kindly. My dog is always ready for pick-up within an hour, which is one of the reasons I initially chose their spa: my dog doesn't sit anxiously waiting for her turn in a kennel for hours, like at some other groomers. It doesn't hurt that they adorn my freshly groomed pups with a bow on her collar and lavish personal attention on each of my dogs, as well as have a jar of biscuits handy to make the experience even more pleasurable for them. ;) I always feel like my dogs are in the best of hands! My parents also make the 40 minute drive to the Grooming Spa from their home near Chicago. We don't trust anyone else with our fur babies! As a side note, I'm surprised by the lack of reviews on this place...every time I go, the Spa is busy, and they are often booked solid (though have been very kind about squeezing us in on occasion here and there) for weeks at some times of the year. As the owner of two Maltese in show coat, finding someone who could not only accommodate our needs, but exceed our expectations in the greater Chicago area is unbelievable! I had read the reviews and spoken to a few friends who have used them in the past, most were happy. I took my small mix breed dog and was treated very badly. The owner (?) Christine, was very nice and professional, but the woman who groomed my dog was awful (I thought she said it was her mother) She was rude and disrespectful and honestly I will not let her near my dog ever again. He came home with a large area shaved so closely it was bleeding and it is still healing. I mentioned this to my dog friends and they said that there is one good groomer to ask for, and it was not the woman I had...even though it is close by me, I am shopping for a new place to take my dog. read more

I took my dog to The Grooming Spa this summer and was parked outside the door in my car. I heard my dog screech twice. I went in and my dog was tethered to the wall in obvious distress. My maltioo and I LOVE Rose, Christina, and The Grooming Spa! These skilled, caring, and professional groomers always treat Toby like he's the most special little dog on the planet, and he is absolutely gorgeous after spending an hour in their care. I love the fact the the Grooming Spa schedules individual appointments for each dog or cat client. Toby is terrified in a kennel, and their setting aside a time just for him means he doesn't have to be locked up until I come back to get him. The shop is kept very neat and clean, and there are comfortable leather chairs to relax in if you decide to stay. I travel from Des Plaines to have Toby groomed at the Grooming Spa, and the drive is definitely worth it. This grooming establishment is far superior to my previous groomer in Mt. Prospect. When I last brought Toby to the Grooming Spa, I told Rose that one of her other clients, a Maltese named Buddy, recently escaped from his yard and was hit by a car. Rose was genuinely concerned, and she sent a toy with me to give to Buddy as a get-well gift. Now, that's a really kind person!!! Give the Grooming Spa a try.
