We are first time owners and took our Goldendoodle for her first cut. They did an amazing job and can't wait to go back. Thanks for answering all my questions

my furball of a pup, Hammy, before and after! Voila!

This place is fantastic. I've taken my pup to a couple places to get his grooms. Dog in Suds is always efficient and clean. He comes home with perfectly filed nails, clean fur between the toes, and nice even shave. His big head looks even bigger to his perfectly trimmed body. They do such a good job that it takes him longer to get to the furry mess he usually is. I posted a picture, before and after of Hammy. Thats him before his cut and after. Quite different yet just as handsome looking pup. Love these guys, worth the drive to get there. They give good advice about certain things such as ear hair and their butt glands. Never pushy or rude.

I've never had a dog that needed grooming before, so I got a recommendation from a guy at the breed rescue where i got my dog. They were super friendly on the phone, walking me through the costs and what that included. They did a great job with my Airedale who came in with a fluffy winter coat and left with a "show dog" cut. The groomer even came out and talked to me afterwards and explained other things she could do next time around if I preferred. I thought the price was also reasonable. The only negative here is that my dog didn't smell like anything afterwards - usually they come home from a bath smelling good for a few days. She didn't smell bad necessarily, but I was missing that "clean dog" smell. In any case, I'm sure we'll be back here sometime in the near future!

I have been bringing my Siberian Husky to Dog In Suds for 2 years now after my neighbor recommended them. Deb and her daughter do a wonderful job, my dog comes out looking like a show dog. They are so good with him and he loves going to get groomed. I just brought my first foster dog to them this past week, she is older and was in rough shape, she was also very scared. They were so kind and made her look beautiful, she honestly looked like a different dog when I went to pick her up! She looked 5 years younger! She even acted different afterward, she's been a little more confident and happier ever since! I literally left in tears. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! Everyone in the area should bring their dogs here! This family deserves all of Palatine's business.

We have a goldendoodle and have had one bad experience with PetSmart grooming (they ran the clippers straight up his snout and he had no hair left on his face!) so we have been nervous ever since! I read reviews of this place and hoped for the best. The reviews were thankfully accurate! The girls were so sweet and listened intently to what I wanted and looked at the pictures I brought. They also wrote down everything they did so when I bring him next time they'll know what to do. Our pup looks great!!! Thank you!!!

We are new to the area and decided to give Dogs in Suds a try for our puppy. Just like the consultation I get with my hair stylist, the groomer greeted me by asking what I'd like done for my dog. When I picked him up, he looked great! The groomer, who I believe was Cara, was very nice and professional! I do agree with the other reviewer that they must use a low fragrance shampoo. I also noticed that all of the other dogs seemed very relaxed in comparison to other groomers I have been to!

They took years off my look in one session. Now I have my puppy face again!

They trim my little dogs nails every six weeks. She's 10 pounds of wild and I'm truly thankful for the team there.

The smell upon entering was not wet dog but more like sewage, very unpleasant, as I moved towards the wash stations the smell faded The wash station was dirty, hair still in the tub from the previous user Very watery shampoo (no labels to know what you're actually using) I suppose they dilute it so it lathers more quickly, but if I returned I'd bring my own. Water pressure is great, but water temperature never really got warm. The towels are quite raggedy & not absorbent. The blow dry was miserable between all the fur on the unswept floor blowing around, & not having a place to put my pet while drying. $24/per hour is increased from the $20 I was told by another customer but again I tried to call to inquire on pricing & products and got no answer.

For some context, my dog was found in a forest preserve as a young dog and so she had very little socialization with humans. She was awkward around my friends and family but would quickly warm up and play with them. When I went to pick her up at the end of the week, I did the hour-long session with Mike, and the whole time I noticed she was cowering every time he would raise his hand or go near her. This was not the goofy, happy dog I brought it. When I brought her home, I didn't notice anything unusual, and I had some friends come over about a week later. My dog, who had met all these people multiple times, was growling and visibly stressed to the point that she nipped my best friend, thankfully no skin was broke but we were both shocked. Prior to this incident, she had never nipped anyone or even gotten mouthy during playtime. When I called Jen about this incident, she brushed it off as my dog "testing boundaries". I received no support or advice on how to handle this situation. Since then, she has become more untrusting of humans (other than me) to the point where I can't have people come over because of her fear reactivity. I'm now working with a behaviorist to work on these issues and get her to a place of being more comfortable around people. I always look back and think that if I hadn't sent her there, she would be a very different dog now. **I'd like to note that I've since taken her to a daycare/boarding facility that she absolutely loves, and everyone there loves her. I'd taken her there once prior to this board and train, and it is now my go to place for her whenever I'm out of town. They were shocked when I told them about her reactivity, as they've never seen her express those behaviors and she's extremely well taken care of.
