We've brought our pittie to get bathed/ nails trimmed by Christina and have always been impressed with her work. This is the first time I can comment on her scissor work as we've been watching a family member's golden retriever for the past week. Charlie was overdue for a groom and Christina worked her magic! He came back bathed, trimmed, nails done, ears cleaned, and blow dried in an hour! Christina was able to turn his gremlin feet into the most beautifully shaped paws I've ever seen. We recently moved our pup to Playtime Pup Ranch because we were noticing her behavior would change for a day or 2 after when she was had overnight stays and play dates at a large corporations facility. We took her to the ranch a few times to warm up, but now, she is all wags to and from the location I can tell she's much happier because she starts barking when I tell her where we're going. Probably better for larger dogs. I took my dog for an assessment. She is a miniature breed. POSITIVES: The people are friendly and the location is convenient. I like that they have webcams. They seem to genuinely do a behavior assessment but I was not there to witness this so taking their word for it. They report that someone stays overnight when dogs are boarded. Assessment is free. NOT SO GREAT: I was told that after introductions, and some time behind the front counter with older/smaller dogs, my dog would be placed in "Sugarland" (or something like that) where small dogs go. I got a call that the assessment was done and that I should pick her up. When I walked in, there was no one in the lobby. Just quite a few dogs behind a small front counter area, alone. Anyone could walk in off the street and take one. My dog is very expensive. Another dog was jumping up and pulling on things at the edge of the counter. The area did not appear to be dog-proofed/free of things that puppies and chewers could chew on. Looking through the windows from the lobby to the one larger area, there was a lone person standing in the middle of many boisterous running, jumping dogs. Apparently there is another room not in view which is for the "high energy" dogs. The place felt chaotic and my dog seemed very upset. When someone came out to the lobby, there was no explanation for why the dogs were alone behind the counter. I told them which one was pulling things down and they did not react or seem to care. Nothing about the place felt safe or caring to me and we will not return. Glad I did not have to pay for the assessment. If you have a German Shepherd or a Retriever, you might be fine there. I found a daycare/boarding that does take are of small dogs. I think that 3 stars is generous--my experience was 1 star, but I understand that larger or higher energy dogs could do better here. read more

We took our pup Emerson here today for a bath and haircut and they did an excellent job! The staff was very nice and followed all of our grooming instructions. We have taken Emerson to multiple places for haircuts in the past and have been unsatisfied, but we are so happy we've now found Playtime Pup Ranch as our new place for grooming! read more

Love this place!! The owners and staff are more than knowledgeable and interested in you and your fur baby. Looked at 6 other places before giving this place a try. What did this place do to win my trust? First-it didn't smell like every other place I visited!! Next was the staff, who really took time to explain their business and listen to my concerns. This was my girls first time at a day care, and as she was a rescue, I wasn't sure how she would do. They reassured me they take their time with intros and allow the dogs to settle down for a while. I got a call about 1/2 hour later - they said she was loving it and I could watch on the pup cam they have running. She came home EXHAUSTED . She didn't even make it to the sofa at first, and while she's a total cling-on, she didn't even move when I got up!! read more

Oh my goodness, I can't give this place enough stars! I NEVER write reviews, but had to come in and say something about Playtime Pup Ranch. I adopted a rescue during Covid and it was very rewarding, but extremely difficult. She had been severely abused and although she is never aggressive or mean, she has issues trusting people. Rightfully so! But she absolutely loves dogs. I couldn't get her into a trainer because they said she needed to start with doggy daycare to socialize her which made sense. We were staying in the Schaumburg area (in town from California) and tried numerous doggy daycares and got rejected. No one would take her in because she was shakey around people. It was heartbreaking because I knew she had so much potential, but didn't know where to take her. When I found Playtime Pup Ranch, it was a good 30 minutes from where we were staying, even though there were so many others near us we had tried, but weren't successful. But so worth the drive! I brought her in for her evaluation, awaited nervously for the call to see how she did, and when it came, I was shocked and overjoyed. They reassured me what I already knew but was starting to doubt, that my Winnie was such a sweetheart and absolutely LOVED dogs! Yes, she didn't care for people as much but they said that will take time and that she absolutely had a home here. We bought a package and I brought her as much as I could while we were home but sadly, we had to return to California a few months later. I still kept her package and when we come home for the holidays, I will absolutely be returning! I hate that we wasted time on other daycares and wish we would have found this sooner, but love that we found Playtime Pup Ranch. I wish we could find an equivalent out in California! The staff is amazing and so so friendly, they put the dogs and their needs first, and the cameras to watch your dog while playing is such a wonderful touch! It was astonishing to me that a dog who loved playing with dogs was getting rejected at doing so. Playtime Pup Ranch gave my sweet girl the chance she deserved and I watched her improve immensely! If I could give them 10 stars, I would. The staff is so kind and caring and I have a very timid dog who they always are so gentle with. Last week when my dog had a health issue (because I took her to another boarding place because of my convenience) Micki was so kind and helpful and even sent me an email checking on her. The other place blamed me. My poor pup had plastic in her intestine and per the vet it had to have happened when she was there. I will never take my girl anywhere other than PPR. They are my heros for caring for my baby like I would. read more

Had my dog for an extended period of time. I had many concerns, the biggest was when I asked for a wash before pick up, and they gave him back to me with a horrible haircut, they shaved under his eyes and nose and the top of his head. I have a shihtzu who normally has long hair. Why wouldn't they call me at least before they do this. Also, while I was watching the cameras I saw my dog get jumped by another dog for at least an hour. I don't recommend this place. read more

My Gabby can be a handful around other dogs. She is great around humans, but neighborhood dogs are another matter. The team helped Gabby feel comfortable around other dogs. Now, she rushes out of the car to join her puppy daycare friends. Granted, she does not play with others, she just hangs out to watch other dogs as entertainment. Love the Pup Ranch! My dog went once, and now she is hooked. I drop her off just about everyday (for her and my own sanity.) Wonderful ownership/staff, very clean facility, and you can even watch your dog from the "Pup Cam" while at home/work. I usually drop her for a half day (5 hours), but they can also go for a full day. Very reasonably priced, and offer a bunch of other services too (grooming/boarding, etc.) I will use them for the boarding on my next vacay. I wanted to write a review as I am so thankful to have found this place! I had gotten my dog Layla as a rescue. She is such a sweet girl but during the first year I have had her it has been very difficult as she has gone through dOing things that I couldn't deal with. Something new everyday. As a last resort My daughter found this daycare And I decided to try it out before having to return the dog. After bringing her a couple times I felt I had a new dog. She must've had separation anxiety and while playing with the other dogs has been able to get some energy out that she needed. The staff knows her and she loves to go in the morning. She waits for me by the bathroom so we can go to work and probably set up in the front seat watching all the way to the daycare. By the time I pick her up she is so worn out she lays down in the front seat. I just left her for a whole week while I was in Florida and think this place is a lifesaver. The staff is so loving and takes wonderful care of the dogs.. thank you so much! read more

LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! The staff at Playtime Pup Ranch is AMAZING ! They always greet me and my pup Fiona with a warm welcome and smiling faces . I am so glad that I have met Micky (owner) and all the great people that are on her team. Not to mention my dog gets so excited pulling into the parking lot and puts my mind at ease while I work that she is get lots of hugs and kisses and much play time with other pups while I am gone.
