I waited on my dog for 5 hours. The groomer Ashlee called and said he was ready. I got there and it looked like my dog wasn't even touched. Another groomer had to re-do the cut then they tried to charge me an added fee for them having to fix it. Just ridiculous. My dog was nervous, yes, not every dog sits quietly for a cut. Petco did a great job with no problem. Just don't book with Ashlee. read more

They did a very bad job on my baby girl and it was 75.00 and they had her 6 hours I'll never use them again ....

This pet smart is better than most and their employees know their stuff . I bought 3 of my male rats from them and they have been pretty healthy and the oldest one is the super snugly and just a love bug! The Prices on some things are kind of high here, and sometimes you have a long wait on employees to assist you , especially On weekends when they are super busy. read more

The manager Lizzy was working her butt off! I had a problem with a product I bought and after calling the store and being transferred to different departments I was a little frustrated but After asking for the manager Lizzy was incredibly helpful and when I returned she not only helped me but was working every area helping or even doing the jobs of the other employees! She is the reason for my 5 star review! Great looking out Lizzy! read more

If I could give this place no stars, I would. First, I took my dog to the grooming place today to get groom. He was supposed to just have a shampoo and etc. with teeth brushing. The lady tells me that my dog was so matted up, so he would need the full grooming service, so I was like okay, but I told her to not cut him so low. My daughter was so disappointed to find him skinless all over his body because we are used to his fur. The lady said that she tried to cut his nails and he bit her. My dog never bit anyone. She did informed me that his leg was bruised which I can tell because he has not been walking the same since he left or acting the same. I will never used this place as far as grooming him for full service again. If I need a full groom, I will take him someone else. I was not a happy camper either with how they groom him and it took them four hours. I shouldn't have paid with how he looks. She did tell my daughter that his hair will grow back into two to three weeks, but who knows. He does not even like himself, and it does not look like they even cut his nails. read more

This facility gave my dog kennel cough AND has rude employees. I have boarded my two dogs numerous times at the Arlington PetsHotel and have always been very pleased with the entire experience there. In September, I boarded them at the PetsHotel in Mesquite because it was on my way out of town. I will never make that mistake again. The check-in process took over twenty minutes, even though I'd already filled out all of the forms and had set everything up over the phone two weeks in advance. When I asked about the grooming appointment that I'd booked for one of my dogs, they didn't have any idea what I was talking about. When the surly girl from the grooming salon finally came to take a look at my dog, she said that there was no way they could bathe her without shaving her first. Basically, they just didn't want to take the time to brush her out. She's a Pomeranian, so it does take a little work to keep her hair looking nice, and I have NEVER had a groomer insist that she had to be shaved before. We decided to skip the bath. I realize the whole "Pawgress Report" thing is kind of silly anyway, but what they wrote on my girls' report was completely unlike their personalities. At least at the Arlington location, they bother to write down something your dogs actually DO while they're there. Worse than the slow service and the rude groomer, one of my dogs contracted kennel cough during her two nights at this facility. They had both been vaccinated against it and have both been boarded at another PetsHotel and have never come with any type of illness. If the Mesquite location were my only experience with a PetsHotel, I would never, ever use one again. When you pay almost $40 per dog, per night, you expect your dogs to be in a clean facility, free of bordetella. The Arlington location has friendly employees and is extremely clean, so I will continue to use that one when I need to board my dogs. read more

:( The last two times I have boarded my pets there they have come home with diarrhea. Different dog each time. I have boarded my pets for over 20 years and not once have ever had this experience before. Obviously they are not sanitizing the facility properly. Don't risk your pets health with this place. read more

Went to Banfield the pet hospital of Mesquite and it wasn't the best customer service. I was waiting for about 10 minutes to get some kind of service. Lady in front of us was asking question but on the phone talking about something else which is annoying people ask your questions and move on. Well once we got to the receptionist she didn't say a word to us. Stood there for like 6 minutes 4 workers went in and out the room. And not a word. Finally the chick came out and finally attended us. She did give us valuable info so that's why I'm rating it a 3. So thanks um... Didn't get her name she wasn't wearing a name tag. But thanks. read more

I have been taking my fur baby here for grooming for a while now due to the proximity to my house. I was extremely disappointed on my last visit, they gave my baby a bad haircut job and wouldn't accept him until I agreed to have them give him a very low shave. I really didn't want because of the cold weather and no protection for him. They seemed extremely lazy to comb his hair and just trim they insisted that it was tangle when it wasn't. Their staff in the grooming department are lazy and I could tell they possibly mis-treats pets because my fur baby trembles and gets extremely nervous on the last visit. There are much better grooming places to take your pets, please don't waste your time and money on this spot. We are now shopping for a new grooming spot. read more

Staff is friendly! They always have what I need! Always clean! I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Seriously unprofessional very upset on my dog grooming experience . read more

Well I went back to this store one more time not much has changed still only one checker and a line of 7 or more people there was s buggy or two so now it doesn't matter because I moved and I'll shop somewhere else read more

I love the people there I go all the time for crickets and worms cat food dog food litter all kinds of stuff. I am very disappointed in the service today. I had a Bearded dragon that was 31/2 years old that recently passed I took him to a vet cause he stopped eating and since I have recently adopted another 6yr old Beardy I started looking for what the cause of death could have been I found white worms in there cricket carrier. When I took to petsmart there response was fruit flies news flash we don't have no kind of flies on our home. Now I have lost my baby. Very disappointed!! Vet said parasite well I found it and it's not cause of them. Yeah right I spend 100's of dollars there and thats all you can do!! Very angry I will go to petco from now on. Sure wish bill would have been there!! Bill feel free to call 9715987552 read more

Sometimes their stock is picked over, but in general they have a great grooming department and the staff is always friendly.

I would not take my dog bag to this Petshotel or day care. The staff is extremely rude and talks down to pet owners of large breeds, and seems to discriminate against large breed dogs all together, and I'm not exactly sure why. They complain that my dog is "too big" for the other dogs. If that is the case, then don't advertise to all dogs breeds. We have used the doggy day care and the pet hotel, and my dog caught Kennel cough and an upper respiratory infection from a 1 night stay. I really think they are lacking in management training, and need a better support staff. I wouldn't trust any of them to handle my dog. Their "training" staff is lacking as well. read more

My husband & I came here to purchase an electronic training device for our dog & only needed an associate to unlock the case for us but clearly that was too much to ask for. We waited nearly 20 minutes just for that & the store was not even busy, it was around 7p when we went. One guy completely avoided eye contact with us & kept going to different aisles like he was busy with something, the other girl was with a customer but was looking at the customers phone talking about the old woman's poor dog for about 5 mins (I know because I was waiting on someone to help us)! Never coming back to this location again read more

I was extremely disappointed in the grooming service they provided for my English Bulldog. This was my second visit and they have failed me once again. Not all PetSmart stores are bad, but this one in particular is. I would recommend a PetSmart located in Rowlett. Not recommending this one to anyone, especially with an English Bulldog, which requires a good bath. read more

I have been bringing my dog for grooming at the Mesquite a few times with no real issues. I made an appointment which they changed still no big deal.My dog is 50 lbs they have his records they know. So I go in and the groomer looks at him says she sprained her wrist and has a lift limit of 20 lbs.OK sooo.. Then she asks the other groomer if they can trade dogs and have a 5 min conversation of yes no no I can wait no. She's told someone will help her, yay good to go. He is ready 5 hrs later ( ok it's Fri). He came in with a leather Harley collar and a harness. The groomer had the harness on backwards we were in a hurry ( especially my dog) made it home took off the harness that covered his neck no collar. We called immediately they searched and then came up with the excuse he didn't have one on.Really... In fact I looked at his collar right before we went in because I had to put his new rabies tag on. It has a buckle 3" wide collar that cannot come off unless you take it off. I call the next day basically was told they already spoke with me they don't have it and he didn't come in with one because they ALWAYS put in in a pouch. They could have said "We are really sorry we were busy" it may have been thrown out, that would be acceptable. To basically call a customer a liar is NOT ok.My money is good anywhere and I have 6 furry kiddos and used to do my shopping every week at the Mesquite store. All of my pets have Banfield Insurance and I was a good customer there.Bye Petsmart, never set foot in the grooming salon again SMH read more

Beyond ..Poor Service refused to sell me two fish during operating hours was waited on by James who thought I "would not take care of the fish " and refused to sell them to me...you got to be kidding me. do not shop at this store !! The pet hotel was beyond disappointing. I am angry that my dog came home and pottied as if she hadn't been out since I left her there. She had an overfull bladder and pooped double the amount she usually does. Last night and this morning combined. I wasn't informed during the registration process that treats were not part of the package. They were offered but I was not told of the charge...And I honestly don't think she got them. Although she may have. I expected more for the price I paid read more

Registers are supposed to accept chipped cards but frequently do not. Mag strips also fail as well. Trying to check out in this store is an absolute nightmare. read more

I was extremely disappointed with the Pet Hotel services included with Doggie Day Camp while my dog recently stayed here! My dog's play days were switched twice during the week long stay, which left her in the kennel for two straight days instead of letting her play in Doggie Day Camp like I paid for her to do! I was under the impression I was getting what I paid for, but instead she was staying locked up in the kennel instead! The assistant manager of the pet hotel was extremely rude about the situation as he switched her days without alerting me or any other employees about this! I was not happy as I felt like He did not care my dog was just locked up in the cage for extended time instead of getting to go to day camp! Make sure they give you what you pay for at this place! read more

This place includes a Banfield office that is in the business of ripping off pet owners. After spending over a thousand dollars on our puppy to be treated for what they called an allergy issue including shampoo and multiple rounds of antibiotics they nearly cost our dog our life. The vet even had the audacity (on the second call) seem to blame me that they did not correctly diagnosis him and asked why we took him somewhere else and did not give them more chances. I could not believe he was serious after not only my experience, but those at the animal shelter where my dog was nearly surrendered shared with me horror stories of other pet owners who were constantly giving money to this "money pit" with no relief for their pets. We only continued to go there because of the wellness plan we were stuck in. We kept giving our pet Benadryl and bathing him with the 22 dollar shampoo they prescribed all to no avail. We finally received a recommendation for a second opinion while my son cried because he did not want to loose our doggie to try the vet near Poteet High School. Dr. Josh diagnosed him, treated him and he is now well and happy. When I called back to file a complaint initially the office was compliant now the doctor says that he has the last say so and that he agrees with Dr. J at Town East Vet office that the illness would have never been treated with antibiotics because it was a yeast infection. He never ever ever said "yeast infection" until I shared with him the diagnosis and treatment of the other facility. He was rude and extremely condescending towards me and I hope that no one else ever experiences this treatment. They are out for money and that is all. They have no idea what they are doing there. read more

Mesquite Pet Smart has some really good employees, who smile and make you feel like you are a valued customer. I have been shopping at Pet Smart since the store was located on the other side of 635, so I have seen a lot of managers come and go, there are some that I was glad to see gone and those that WERE/ARE a lose. There is currently a manager Kelly who is the rudest person I have come across, she never smiles and will not acknowledge that we the customers and our pets are the reason she has a job. If she is the only cashier I will literally wait until another cashier shows up to check out, if she treats customers this way I can only imagine how she treats the people who work under her. Pet Smart needs to have a personality test prior to hiring some of the managers they have or had. Kelly is a black cloud to what used to be awesome place to shop. read more

I've been going to Petsmart for years because they used to be cheaper than Petco. Well, since they've raised their prices, I'm no longer shopping there and here's why: There is always a long wait to check-out. The products I need are often not stocked, and it takes forever for an employee to check the back room. But my biggest problem is the grooming salon. They are not adequately trained in how to deal with different dogs. My dog is an old girl with arthritis, and they always blame their poor grooming skills on her inability to stand for long times. As an old dog, she has a much smaller bladder, but they do not let the dogs outside to do their business AT ALL. So they had her for 5 hours (way longer than they should have needed), and she never got to empty her bladder at all. They did not trim her dew claws like I asked. They insisted on charging extra for a flea bath because they apparently saw a live flea. I check my dog weekly for fleas and ticks, give her preventative, and never see her scratching or see flea dirt on her. You can understand why I am hesitant to believe there was really a flea. Also, they are never finished grooming when they say they will be. This last time, they told me twice over the phone she would be done at noon, but I had to sit and wait till 12:45. I will be paying extra for better grooming with more experienced groomers, and I highly recommend you do, too. read more
