I like coming here to buy some food and treats for my dog. They have a very good selection of them and my dog loves every single thing I bought for him. However, I'm not satisfied with the grooming and everything. I took my dog for a little trim and other things today and my dog doesn't even look like my dog anymore. They cut his fur too much and his head barely looks like he has hair on it. Plus, his nails were still rather long and sharp and overall, he just didn't get the trim I hoped to have got for him. I'm very disappointed with the way my dog looks. I don't recommend this place for grooming your pet but I do recommend it for buying food and other necessities for your pet. read more

I always shop at Pet's Mart. Usually their customer service is okay but yesterday it was really, really bad. The clerk that was working the register was more interested to talking to her co-workers than correctly checking out my items. If I had not told her, I could have gotten a free $25.00 litter box. She didn't even place my items in the cart. She handed me my my receipt without a "thank you". Pet's Mart should realize they are not the only pet store in Manteca and with Petco coming, I feel they should bump up their customer service. read more

I made an 11 am appointment to get my two dogs groomed. I waited until 6 pm and didn't get a call to pick them up. So I went there and waited. My dogs were just starting to be worked on. I didn't know the trainee was cutting my dogs hair. Around 8 pm they were finally finished. My Bichon was shaved everywhere even the hair on his head. He looked like a Chihuahua then my Maltipoo looked like his twin. Disappointed with the grooming I still paid the $120+ and considered it to be a lesson learned. The following morning I noticed a dark discoloration around my Bichons anal gland. I took him to the vet and was told the groomer didn't know what she was doing and accidentally back flushed his anal gland and had fecal matter showing through the skin on his little shaved bottom. A week later both dogs started shaking their heads and scratching their ears. I took them to the vet and they both had a fungal infection in their ears. The vet said that when the groomer flushed their ears out, they didn't get all of the water out causing the infection. I had to get my dogs put under anesthesia and have their ears cleaned and flushed out then two weeks of drops, antibiotics, and pain. Not to mention over $1000.00 in vet bills. I wouldn't recommend Petsmart grooming service to anyone. If I could have given them negative 10 stars I would have. read more

Pet smart is a great way to get good products for your dog. Its awesome that you can take your dog in there it helps them interact with other dogs and people. The assistance is awesome. But sometimes at the fish section they take forever to come but when they do come they get the job done. They also talk to you about like what kind of tank and fishes you have. You get a warm welcome when you first come in. Its nice to see what kind of animals they have they should dogs in there like they have the cats. Came her earlier this week to get my dogs nails cut. Apparently they needed proof of rabies vaccination... Funny how no one else in town requires that. Anyways went back home and came back the same day about an hour later with papers of prof of the vaccine from the animal shelter that I got my dog from. But apparently that wasn't good enough from them because there was no expiration date even though I got him in April of this year -_- The papers were good enough for the vet I take him to but not good enough for petsmart which is complete bs. Thank you for not one but two wasted trips petsmart. All this crap for a damn nail trim. Also when I was waiting on them to deny my dog from getting his nails trimmed I saw they had a golden retriever tied up to a door stop. The dog was obviously uncomfortable and and barking but remained neglected by staff. Maybe it's a good thing they didn't take my dog in. I'd never want him to be treated like that. I WILL NEVER BE BACK AND I WISH I COULD GIVE NO STARS! read more

We take our small Tibetan Spaniel here for bathing and grooming. Price is good, offers senior or military discount and once you're in the system you get coupons in your email. With 4 visits so far we can say that Jennifer and Jessica are AWESOME. Dog comes home clean, fluffy, smelling great and nicely groomed. Yes we have used another groomer for comparison and if you get Jennifer or Jessica I think you will be very happy. read more

I live right around the corner from here and I have also have 3 cats and a dog so it is more than convenient to have this place right by home. The other day I needed a new cat carrier so I can take my cat to the vet. The carriers they had for sale were not already assembled rather the top and bottom were zip tied to together. I was kind of in a hurry so I did not really want to deal with this. I was hoping to find one like the one I had purchased a while back that was already assembled but beggars can't be choosers. When I got up to the front to be rung up there was another associate up there and I asked him how I put the carrier together and instead of telling me he did me one better. he actually assembled it for me. I thought that was very nice of him and it saved me from some frustration of having to figure out where to cut the zip ties because honestly I was not sure. I have always been treated very well there and I love their products and customer service. They have everything I could possibly need for my pets. read more

I'm not sure what you look for in an employee, but if loyalty, trustworthy and honesty aren't it, then you at *Petsmart Manteca* are in for a rude awakening! I don't know how you let an wonderful employee go after almost 5 years with "maybe" 5 sick days taken, who shows up for work on time everyday, goes in to cover when others call in, has strangers come up to him out of the blue at street fairs and other stores, who know him by name because of the great service he's given his customers. I for one will never set foot in your store again and I ask that my family and friends do the same and network that other do not support this store. I have come to this pet smart to buy my first lizard, i bought a bearded dragon and within 10 days it died. I was very sad and got a new one from petsmart. (They do have a 14 day policy on their lizards, which is a very small amount of time) so i did get a free new lizard. I chose the same kind because it is very kid friendly and great for a pet. The next bearded dragon i had for 8 years. When he died i went back and got two more, i bought them the day of my birthday in February. We were sure to talk to the worker at petsmart and ask a lot of questions about the lighting, decor, habitats..etc. the lady told us to buy a basking light and a heat light and that sand was okay. The lizards we purchased were related and always got along. I was sure to monitor the way they acted with each other and their diets to be sure that they were both eating. They both ate equal diets. But one of them stopped eating and wouldn't move catch his food. I tried feeding him "instant care" (dry food mix that you feed them if they are sick or wont eat) and bath him more often. I immediately took him to the vet and they said that he had bone disease and his bones barely even showing up on the x-ray. (This is extremely sad and terrible, it also wouldn't happen within 2 weeks of me purchasing him) This costed 300$ let alone I had to go to petsmart and spend another 150$ to get special decor and habitat for his aquarium. (No sand, no branch, no cave rock, etc) The vet also asked where i had gotten my lizard from and when i told them petsmart they said they hate petsmart because they don't properly care for the pets that they have and they always have families coming in for sick lizards and that we were the second person that week to come in with a lizard with this critical of bone disease. They asked a few more questions such as what lights we use, (and i had boughten the basking light), we also had sand which the worker told us was fine to get for them. The veterinarian said that lizards need calcium from their light and other nutrients and a basking light gives them 0, this causes his bones to be weaker. I will never go and support this pet smart again and i definitely will not support the way they care for their lizards and all pets. They hire people just to sell the products not caring if they know how to care for animals. This allows customers to come in and purchase a sick animal who is not cared for and that is deprived of proper care, and also fed the wrong care information because they know nothing and have no experience. I will never, never, go back there. I can not believe how terrible this is, its basically animal cruelty. read more

So upset. Usually take my girl to Jennie at Petsmart trinity parkway. Just love her!!!!! I couldn't get her in so made an appt in Manteca. When I called I told the guy she needs an experienced groomer as my dog is 8 & has arthritis. They said no problem that the groomer they made an appt with is very experienced. When I took my dog in & said she takes tramadol for arthritis pain, they refused to groom her! They said she's sedated. I told them she's been taking it for years & it doesnt sedate her, just helps with the pain. They still refused. All other groomers are booked now, so I have no one I can take her to. Holiday weekend. If they had asked when I first called & said she had arthritis, this could have been avoided. Looks like I won't be going to that store anymore. So sad after going there for 16 years! Sorry can't give 0 stars. If you need grooming- go to Petsmart Trinity Parkway Stockton- great people! read more

Over Christmas I was given two Small baby guinea pigs from this location as a gift from two of my family members. I thought it was the greatest gift ever. I bought two more at the same location and found them à good home.One good Word of advice dont buy guinea pigs from here or any pet store for that matter. The guinea pigs were sick after about à month with major skin légion parasites and a ton of the most evilest ear mites in the world. I took two of them to the Vet ending up with à whooping bill Vet bill of $400.00 and The guinea pigs still have more visits and xrays so it doesnt stop there.This was only à month after having them.One of them almost died from the ear mites. The mites were so bad the meds that I got for them at the vet didnt help. One of my guinea pigs has à head tilt almost upside down because of the damage the mites did and cant even walk correctly. Pet smart offered to return them for another set of guinea pigs within the first two weeks of having them. The guinea pigs got sick àfter a month. Petsmart said We can take them to our Vet for free but , If there is something wrong with them and cant be treated them successfully.We will give you two replacments. If they can be treated successfully and to get them back you have to pay us full price for them again. O would give them à half à star If I could. I called petsmart they informed me none of their guinea pigs have mites. I beg to differ read more
