They were recommended to me, because they are capable of accommodating aggressive and/or working dogs. Their kennel set up allows for them to care for dogs without having to enter the kennel. Gary and Peggy are the owners of this company. They have always been a pleasure to deal with for booking boarding dates. I have never had any issues with how they have cared for my dog over the years. My dog always looks healthy, cared for and excited to come home. Their rates are pretty reasonable and are priced by dog sizes. Their prices can be found on their website. They are open most days of the week. They used to have hours posted, but have since changed their hours to appointment only. Although I have never utilized their training services, I have heard good things about their training methods. They always have him looking his best after his every six weeks grooming. My puppy is now 8 months…read moreold and has spent a total of 5 weeks here (3 weeks for board-and-train and 2 weeks for regular boarding). As a first-time puppy owner, I wasn't sure what to expect or if puppies just naturally outgrow certain behavioral issues. Either way, this is the only formal training she has ever had, and the results speak for themselves. She came back so incredibly well-behaved. And has reminded well behaved. When we go out in public, people always come up to see her because she's cute, but what they *constantly* comment on is how exceptionally well-behaved she is for an 8-month-old puppy. It is so validating to hear that from strangers! I love and fully agree with Anthony's methods and what he does here. If you want a well-behaved dog, Powerhouse K9 is the only place to go. He took the time to explain not only what to do but why it works, which helped us feel much more confident continuing the training at home. We've already seen a huge improvement in Jax's behavior after Anthony's 3 week board and training program. He now heels and walks right next to us instead of constantly tugging on the leash, which has made walks so much more enjoyable. He's also much calmer, listens so much better, and is overall becoming a well behaved puppy. Due to her curly coat, more often than not I am told "she is matted and will need to be shaved down". I know this is not always the case because I do brush her regularly. She allegedly groomed them both within 1 hour her first visit with them. Their site states minimum 1.5 hour per pet for grooming. The second visit with Kaela ,Last week I picked up the girls and if deshedding was done ( which was paid for) it didn't work- hair coming off of the one pet and she was still wet after being there 3 hours. Guess the tech was trying to make a point after our first encounter. After speaking with the mgr., I don't see anything changing in the situation. Very disappointing.
