I took my Yorkie to this petsmart for a bath and a trim. He is 5 pounds, the lady who took him out of my arms was told to put a leash on him which is a policy. After she put a leash on him she put him on the floor, he didn't want to walk with her because i was on the other side of him. She then pulled the leash and was dragging. my puppy across the floor until a worker and I said you need to pick him up. Totally unacceptable! After I complained the other workers present did apologize and state that they would let the manager know what happened. I expected to get a phone call from manager to at least assure me it wouldn't happen again but never received one! Im never taking my fur baby back there! If that was done in front of me what could be happening when I'm not around!! read more

I've been with PetSmart for Bradley's grooming since he was young and when we lived in the bay area. Life was so perfect and in harmony. Few years ago, we moved to Tracy and still stayed with PetSmart however an unforgettable experienced occurred and poor Bradley suffered razor burns around his butt and did not ate for a couple of days. I went to the doctor for treatment and was so happy that the store refunded my costs and they were so sincere and had asked for apologies. I accepted such fate but moved to a different groomer ... Bradly became happier again. Few weeks ago, I've decided to come back to PetSmart to start all over again since the past experiences was long forgotten (I thought so). To my demise, Bradly again suffered razor burns and some cuts but it wasn't so dramatic like before. Even so, bad memories came back and there's no one to blame but myself? I quickly grab the phone and made another grooming appointment in the next 2 months .... but not with PetSmart! read more

Horrible place to bring your pet to. The staff seems so aggressive and rushed. They have no time for you to ask any questions and just. My dog was done in less then 2 hours which seemed strange. As I picked him up I noticed that he still smelled bad and wasn't clean. They did a half ass job. Never again will I come here . read more

This review is for their groomers. If your planning on getting your dog groomed here make sure to clear out all your day as this place is unpredictable on their pick up times. The first time we booked our pup they took over 4 q to have her ready, we had to rush over to get her because they were getting ready to close. Now this second time we dropped off our pup at 9:20 and was told that she would be ready in 3-4 hours. Apparently they were done sooner and we had planned our day around the 3-4 hour time slot. After getting blown up over 4 times we rushed to get our dog and are received by a lady that obviously needs some kind of training in customer service because the first thing she says is that we can't leave our dog that long next time because I guess our dog peed in the kennel. So apparently it's only ok to when they are behind and or taking their precious time on our dog. I loved the convenience of online booking for this place but I would rather just take our dog elsewhere. read more

worst haircut ever .. in the past it has been fine ..or at least o.k... they have on record what they use for the haircut .. but this time they shaved the hair on her back so close skin shows and it some spots bare skin around her neck and ears is almost bald .. and they shaved her butt in a huge area done real weird... this person did not know what they were doing clearly whatever notes on file were ignored and they winged it .. it's close to what a Scottie dog hairdo is supposed to be but rushed and wrong blades and areas cut that are not supposed to be .. and why is it we had a 9:00a.m. appt we drop off early .. the girls are not even there yet .. so if they got started at 9:00 we stopped by to shop at noon they were just starting .. so she must have sat in a kennel for a few hours ... i say not cool .. not cool at all .. very unhappy and doubt we will come back now .. read more

This review is based on my grooming experience there today. I brought in our cat that is handicapped and the girls that worked with him and who gave him a bath, were excellent. They made me feel very comfortable from the time I came in and they really listened to all my concerns. I would absolutely recommend the Petsmart groomers in Manteca to work on anyone's pets! I have never in the past had a problem with Petsmart's grooming. I have taken cats and dogs there. But today I had the worst experience of my life. I made an appointment last week and spoke with the man that said it would be fine to have the dogs dropped off together and then picked up when I got home from work. My husky had been there before to be groomed, and it was my fluffy Frenchie's first time. Two days prior to the appointment I had three phone calls to verify appointment which said there was no need to respond if we were going to be at the appointment. Then the dogs were dropped off this morning. I got a phone call this morning after and they said that my Frenchy needed to be picked up before they could start on my husky because they could not kennel my Frenchy because of her breed. I told them the breed of both dogs before they were taken. Also, my huskies appointment was first. So I had to arrange for a pick up for the Frenchie. Then I got a phone call that my husky would need to be picked up when he was finished or he would be left in the kennel. This made me very angry because they were very aware that I did not get off work until 330. Then I had to arrange someone to pick my husky up also. Now when I see both dogs, it does not even look like they were groomed properly. My husky is still shedding profusely. They did not trim neither one of the dogs nails. I am very upset. Always take my dog (Zoe) here for grooming. We always use Deidre Reyna. Our dog loves her. Deidra is totally awesome and down to earth. We always get great service from her and the rest of the staff. This time I surprised my wife having Deidra paint our dog nails pink. I know that was a challenge Zoe hates for her nails to be touched lol but somehow Deidra pulled it off. Don't take ur fur babies to petsmart....they called me 30mins after I dropped her off saying they cannot proceed with her haircut they said a scab opened up under her neck and i need to come pick her up...i told them bullshit she has had a non threating cyst way under her skin in that area that they have been aware of and how the hell did they open it but just bathing...i hung up my phone and drove there excepting to pick up a wet dog...she was freaking dry...meaning after they cut her they put her in the dryer bleeding...they were so non compassionate when I picked her up all they said to me is the manager is at the front....i spoke with a shift leader not a manager and all that he said is we take care of the vet bill....there was no concern in his voice almost robotic like this happens all the time...i have been a customer at the petsmart in manteca for 5 plus years and this is so upsetting....i took my dog to the vet yesterday and she now needed surgery for there careless aggressive actions... $1600 dollar vet bill and my poor dog is now traumatize...she doesn't do well with anestisa she freaks out after words ..i have been up all night trying to comfort her...i hope after all this she is the same dog but I don't know. I went in to buy a fish and I had 3 encounters with the employees only one of them was super helpful and friendly. The other two looked as if they hated their job or too stressed to even care about what I wanted. It made me super uncomfortable to even ask any questions. I have been going to petsmart for 8 years with my Shi-Chi. I have seen Holly a few times over the years AND LET ME TELL YOU. The groomers at all locations do listen to you but Holly was so invloved in the conversation. She did exactly what I asked and even had a polite way of asking if its what I wanted without pressure. I have been bringing my 3 dogs for bath and grooming since we moved here to Manteca from the Bay Area. The groomers were very good to my dogs. Likewise, the staff (associates) esp the manager Sean, has always been very accommodating and helpful. Love going to the store and even just looking around with no intention of purchasing anything, I always find some good bargains, esp the large dog beds I just bought when I brought my dogs for grooming. Was even lucky, that day, they were taking pictures with Santa. Now I have photos of my doggies with Santa. Thank you. read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG TO GET GROOMED HERE!!! Took my three pound Yorkie here to get groomed. (His normal place was booked). Left my dog there without any worries. I get a call about two hours later telling me they had to take my dog to the vet (she said its protocol) because my dog got "knicked" -- CONFUSED as to why they didn't call me FIRST before taking my dog to the vets. I asked the girl how this had happened? She assured me the knick on his NECK wasn't bad and he wasn't even bleeding. When I got to the vets I looked under my dogs neck to see he in fact had been bleeding. Not only that- my dog needed to be put under because he needed STITCHES!!!!!!! I went to PetSmart today to get Food for my Puppy. I feed her Royal Canin Puppy food Extra Small. A 3 LB Bag cost $18.99. Today I was pleasantly surprised to find out there was a Sale on this food. I got to the check out and was talking to a Team Member "Sierra". I explained how expensive the food is and how I never find it on sale (I did receive an email from Petsmart that said if I had a standing order, I could have it shipped to me at a discounted price). Sierra said that they do Price Matching (if we find it Online for a Cheaper Price, we could get it at that price). We found it for $15.29, so I was able to purchase 2 bags. Thank You to Sierra for putting the Customer First. I was Very Pleased with her Kindness/ Helpfulness. She is an Asset to your Company. read more

I take my two small dogs here to Holly. My Yorkie is 15 years old and my PomChi is 7 years old. The Yorkie has skin allergies, moles and bumps. Because of this Holly knows how to handle this old girl. I give her a bath with medicated shampoo at home because it has to be on her for 10 minutes. I have my dogs shaved down, nothing complicated as far as grooming design. I notice as she grooms the dogs she softly talks to them, keeps them calm. Average cost for my small dogs is 35-45 per dog depending on what you have done. I don't have the brumal on their nails (cost of this would be 12.00). read more

We took our rescue foster dog here only because at the time my partner worked there. Upon his change of employment we shopped around for other pet care. Upon our interview with other groomers we found out that the Eskimo chow mix dog we were taking to oetsmart for grooming should NEVER have been shaved. They ruined her fur as we learned is grown to actually keep them cool. So now we have spent several hundreds & working with a groomer that knows what's she is doing to get our foster groomed properly. This place does not do their homework and is not familiar with other breeds. If you want a wash & dry it's all good. But to call themselves groomers is incorrect title. read more

Groomers are very nice and they always follow my Grooming instructions. If they want to do something different then what was discussed then they call me and ask. Also, I appreciate their vaccination policy as it keeps my dogs safe as well as the staff safe. I feel that any location with so many different animals who are exposed to sharp tools should have a vaccination policy in place. read more

Was originally quoted $70 on website for full service, haircut, bath, and furminator. Quoted $97 when I went to store. Got called saying my dog was ready but they were unable to give him a haircut because he was nervous. Still had to pay $88 even tho no haircut. My dog smells good but $88 for a bath and brush is ridiculous. read more

My pet's rabbies shot is newly updated and good for another 3 years and the old one is not even expired until the end of the month but she refused to take my pet for grooming even after I showed her the new collar tag. I like going into the store to see the cats/kittens up for adoption. I've purchased dry Science Diet for all of the cats I've owned. Everyone in this store is always friendly and helpful. I just wish there were more coupons offered for the store, since, like all products nowadays, you get charged more and more and the contents get smaller and smaller. I took my long hair dachshund there... I asked them not to shave him.... They did... Ruined his fur and didn't even give him a bandana like they said was included. Nails were not trimmed and anal glands were not expressed. Oh and ears and eyes were not cleaned! I was so upset I went and took him to another groomer. Super ride girls there and I couldn't believe how they ignored me asking about the bandana. Waste of money. They need to be trained better. read more
