My rescued dog had never had a professional grooming. She has issues from being bounced around from home to home before I got her, so I was apprehensive. A young woman named Sienna was so kind to me and gentle with my dog!! I let her know she could cancel the bath procedure anytime if my dog gave her trouble, and I would totally understand. She asked if Mochi had any areas she did not like to be touched and I told her. Sienna has a gentle personality, great for working with dogs, and nervous owners. I will be going back again. Took my dog for grooming, when it got to the nail trim they said they were unable to do it because he was aggressive. I took him to Petco, no issues! Recently went in to look for toys with my dog, there were MAYBE two other customers in the store. What I assume is the manager came from under a rack and startled my dog(19lbs btw) he barked at him and the manager's response was is he all bark or will he bite because I'm going to have to ask you to leave or call animal control. Maybe you shouldn't work at a PET STORE if you don't want a scared dog to bark at you. read more

This is a review from my last visit almost a month ago. I've been wanting to purchase a conure for a long time, but unfortunately they had sold the last one days prior to my visit. What I did see, however, was a spunky and curious canary-wing bee bee. I instantly fell in love with him. The staff was very helpful and gave recommendations on cage sizes. I opted for the one they first suggested. They have a lot to offer when it comes to toys (the bee bee is pretty active). The blonde guy ringing up my items was super friendly and seemed to like what he does. The bird overall is healthy, playful, and VERY vocal. He enjoys time outside of his cage, and isn't afraid of climbing my shoulders and exploring the area around him. He must've been well-cared for before my purchasing. Overall I prefer to come here for all of my pet needs (I also have a cat and a dog). read more

Crissy in grooming is an absolute angel. Our dog is very finicky, especially with nails but Crissy was able to at least get them clipped. Groomers seem unfriendly or borderline rude without good customer service skills and don't feel they really like big dogs, maybe even fearful of large breeds not sure, had trouble getting my big girl 132 lbs mastiff up on groomers table while I kept saying it's just a new place she's nervous just wait till I leave she'll submit to you then. Anyway, first impression bad asking me to wait while a male groomer sneezed loud enough to scare dogs and without covering his mouth, which by today's standards unacceptable in Coronavirus environment, should first wear a mask when grooming and especially now for gosh sakes please cover your mouth when cough or sneeze no excuses. Anyway the mix up was that showed up on time but I apparently missed their call to cancel my online booking, they claim the online booking system is not working properly overlooks frequently or maybe they didn't want to deal with my Cane Corso mastiff not sure. Anyway talked with store manager who agreed to try accommodate me but decided just get the min service of nail trim and teeth brush. Had an appointment at the groomers for 6:00 pm. Made arrangements for someone to meet me at the store with my store after I got off work. My dog has been going here for years. Entered the store, roamed around for 1/2 hour, then found out that the grooming salon was closed and all appointments were cancelled. Received one phone call on Sunday from Petsmart while I was at work. My phone rang 2x and they hung up. No message or anything. This was their way of informing me that my dogs grooming appointment was cancelled. This is the second time that this particular store has been a no show/no call. The manager on duty was a total joke. She only made excuses. Oh, but they called everyone on Sunday. What good does it do if they don't give someone time to answer the phone, talk to someone, leave a message or try calling back. Never again. read more

Cancelled on me after I booked my first appointment because I have a large breed and they were worried about running out of time, then they lied to me about when their next available appointment was while I was looking at the schedule online and saw two, hour long, back to back appointments available. If you're lazy and would rather go home early than groom my dog, just say that. This location specifically is blacklisted for me and my family now, we will never go here. Took my puppy to get groomed. I had an 11 appointment I was told 3-4 hours. I came back in 3 hours just to check on her and I was told she's not done that my appointment was 1130 not 11 and they will call when she's ready. Well I live far away and I didn't mind waiting and I wasn't asking for a lecture. There were no dogs there at 11. They over book and take walk ins. While I was there a man groomer had such a hard grip on a golden retriever the dog was shaking and whimpering The cut wasn't done neat and at 4 hours we were done Don't take your dog here for grooming I was told by my daughter inlaw they were scolding the puppy for crying saying bad dog. I don't have kids. I have cats. They are high maintenance, destructive and an overall pain in my behind... and I love them more than most people. I've always been pretty picky when it comes to their food, making sure they aren't overloading on carbs or eating animal byproducts... and unfortunately the hoity toity food I've changed to is only available at the animal specific stores. Which brings me to my frequent trips to PetSmart. This location is smaller than most, but has all the same options (with perhaps a fewer things to choose from) as the larger store. For instance, they have scratching posts, but they have maybe 10 when the larger store on the other side of Manassas has like 25. Even though it is smaller, I have found this store to be clean and organized. They offer training classes and grooming as well. The staff is super helpful and very polite. Every time I walk in or when I pass one of them in the isles they are sure to greet me and ask if I need help. My recent trip in lead me on a search to tackle the cat hair problem in my life. (It's freaking everywhere!!) When I asked the lady where I might find something to help with that issue, she not only walked me to that section of the store (she didn't just point) but she also told me which items she thought worked the best, as well as the pros and cons she had heard from other customers. I am lucky this store is right around the corner from my house and I am lucky enough to have an All Star staff helping me too! The only thing I dislike about coming here... on occasion (two different occasions), I have had people approach me asking to adopt their animals. These are not legit adoption agencies that PetSmart brings in, this is Joe Shmo off the street trying to get rid of the responsibility of having a pet. It's not the stores fault, but it really makes me sad to see this and I really don't want to explain to people that there are already two furbabies in my house trying to tear that place down. read more

We have a cat and some hermit crabs, so we frequent pet shops whenever we are near one! Over the years, I've done quite a bit of business with this particular PetSmart and have been wholly impressed with their services and availability of items. However, and while I don't have a pet who requires grooming, when we were at the store last weekend, we were watching the dog grooming. It seems that one groomer in particular was awfully rough with the dog's ear fur - he was yanking the brush through the fur very quickly. The poor pooch was making growly faces and yipping! The manger Brandon was a very nice guy. One of my fish tanks was missing a LED light. So like a week after I got it I went in for some more fish. And I happened to mention it to them. I didn't have my receipt me. So I figured that they wouldn't do anything for me. But I was Wrong ! They quickly understood and hooked me up with a LED light for me tank. I typically use this PetSmart for the grooming service. I've taken my toy poodle here on numerous occasions over the last 2 years and always been mostly satisfied. Her last haircut with a groomer named Whitney was awesome! Next time I'll be requesting her, she's worth the wait! Her haircut today however, with a male groomer was extremely disappointing and upsetting. My dog had beautiful multicolored ears, and being a poodle they were big and fluffy -- when I picked her up today her ears were totally clipped and she looked awful! I know PetSmart has the Money Back guarantee, but I couldn't bring myself to complain about the man who groomed her. He was very nice however if you have a poodle, I wouldn't recommend him. Again, love this PetSmart on the whole, just a very bad experience with this one haircut. read more

Very disappointed. I booked an appointment 4 days in advanced online for bath and grooming on my German Shepherd. My appointment was for 5:30 and I was about 10-13 minutes late because of TRAFFIC. I rush out of work to pick up my dog from home, drive straight to petsmart just for them to tell me that they cannot see him anymore. They told me it takes three hours but over the phone I was told two hours. Mind you they close at 9! I begged them and told them how bad I needed my dog to get his grooming but they still denied me. Seems like a group of young adults who were just lazy and didn't care. Petsmart should hire people who are more considerate and caring!!! read more

I actually really like this PetSmart. Sasha loves going in and staring at the birds, but we normally go in for treats and toys, so that must be another reason. Only taking off one star because we were looking for a new apartment off Sudley Manor, the leasing office needed to know how much she weighed and we though to ourselves, PetSmart should have one! We walk in with Sasha and ask, and the employees looked at us like we were complete idiots when they said no. We ended up buying a normal one and weighing her, but that's a different story. Now none of the employees really converse with us, but I guess everyone remembers me as the crazy weight lady. read more

PetSmart themselves are a great store. The staff is friendly and always willing help or answer questions. Sometimes it is difficult to find someone to dispense crickets, however. Store is clean and all the animals look healthy. HOWEVER, the adoption agency for the cats is not great. We adopted a 1 year old Calico cat, and they did not stitch her up correctly after getting spayed, so she got infected. We had to pay to get the infection cleared up, and then they took our cat away from us because we "abused" her since she got infected. We got her back after a lot of fighting and lots of medical bills. read more

Take your dog elsewhere for grooming. This place is the worst! I've been bringing my rescue here for nearly 2 yrs for her grooming. All in all it was okay until a few months ago and most recently it has gotten worse. Juli cut my dog's hair uneven, she left strains of hair dangling from one ear. She cut my dog's behind "BALD" and basically gave my girl a wax job on her lady part. Do you know how uncomfortable that must have been for my girl to have her lady part shaved bald? I shudder at the thought and get pissed off thinking of her discomfort! I had to put hydrocortisone cream on her for itch and stave off any potential irritations. About 6 weeks later scheduled her for another groom on July 9th, online. Had some technical issues, I called the store to make sure the date/time (July 12 @ 8:00 AM) was still available, they were. Scheduled the appointment and explained to the associate on the phone what Juli did to my dog and she is to never touch my dog again. I also put these notes in my online appointment. Saturday morning, show up, I'm told my dog does not have an appointment. Then I'm told, her appointment was changed on Friday to the following Saturday (July 20th). I never called to change her appointment and they couldn't tell me who did and why. I also informed them the telephone call on July 9th and was told, Ashley was informed to use a guard on the clippers when she groomed my dog. I was also told on July 9th they had a new system but my appointment was confirmed for Saturday July 12 at 8:00 AM. So was pissed being told my appointment was bumped out another week. Whoever changed my appointment didn't have the decency to call and let me know of the change. Ashley was there and was asked if she recalled the conversation, she said "no". Was Ashley going to use bare clippers on my dog too? How would I know about PetSmart getting a new system unless someone from their store informed me? Furthermore, when I scheduled online Juli was not listed for the morning appointments so was surprised to see her there grooming a dog and my appointment bumped out another week. Hmmm! Needless to say, this caused me to believe she moved my appointment because she didn't like my comments about her horrible grooming on my dog. Later that day I called to speak with the manager the young lady on the phone stated the manager was not there but she could assist...I explained everything to her...she apologized and said she understood about my experience with Juli. She also offered a 50% off for all the trouble and that she was not going to be there on Saturday (July 20th) but will speak with the staff and make sure they take care of me. Well, that didn't happen. We showed up for our 8:00 appointment, and who do I see, Juli and no Ashley. Juli told me, Ashley was out sick and that she could groom my dog. Are you f'g kidding me?! You are the last person I want touching my dog! I told her "NO"! I was told they were booked up and if I wanted to rescheduled. I told her no, this was ridiculous and that I will be contacting their corporate office. Enough already! There was another customer that just came in with her dog, she looked worried/shocked to hear part of the conversation. There was also a young man behind the counter as well, who said nothing until after I walked out, "yelling" have a good day! The anger and frustration I felt...I wanted to walk back in and curse them both out...but I just left. I will never give Sudley Manor PetSmart my business ever again. I live a community where the majority of us are dog owners and I've already shared my experience with a few. They too have shared theirs and how they no longer bring their dog to PetSmart. One neighbor told me Andrew cut her dog's nail too close that it started bleeding. She took her dog and left never to return. Sunday morning (July 21) checking emails - - PetSmart sent an email last night at 7:09 PM to inform that my dog's appointment was canceled. Her appointment was at 8:00 AM in the morning!!! The customer service at this location for the grooming department is by far the worst...their nonchalant attitude is unprofessional, frustrating, and shows their lack of character. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Wide variety of dog food, I get organix and nature's variety, great sales plus they allow people to use coupons. I love seeing their animal enclosures, the animals seem healthy, very active and from what I've seen they have a great appetite. Will come back here in the future. read more
