Usually clean and quiet. Reptiles are surprisingly taken care of very well - rarely see any poo in the enclosures. I've seen understaffed stores where the poop is everywhere, so this store in particular exceeds my expectations. Decent store. Getting in and out of here is a logistical nightmare. The parking lot and Liberia Avenue, can be an exercise of restraint and patience. Definitely keep your eyes peeled. The store works for my son's pet snake. One thing that disappoints me, is you must keep your receipt for an exchange. Odd policy but it is their right as a business. The light went out in a few days, and had to buy another one. As for the employees, nice staff despite this policy. I found them genuinely helpful, and kudos to them for getting new reptile bedding. Fish lovers will enjoy their impressive selection. Prices are fairly competitive. Inflation is real, and who knows how long it's going to last. The managers at this location are insensitive and incompetent. After placing an order online to be picked up the next day, we did not receive an update on the status of the order on the following day. I verified that that it was the correct store and the correct time. I called the store to check up on it, but they said the order was "not in their handheld." The manager who answered told me I needed to call the toll free customer service number and that she couldn't help me. Instead of helping me or making sure that our order was filled, she brushed me off. Because of this, I went directly to the store. This time, another manager attempted to "help" me, but he told me the same story. It wasn't "on the handheld" so I'd have to call the toll free number, I asked if he could call it since this was a Petco error and therefore not my fault. He said no. I left and called the toll free number from the parking lot. That woman was very nice. She cancelled the order and gave us a refund and a coupon for $10 off. Regardless, this store is a dumpster fire and I will not be returning as long as I breathe oxygen on this Earth. Store employees and managers should have the utmost professionalism and willingness to serve customers especially if the company has made a mistake. Dramatic monologue over. *Takes bow* read more

The only thing good about this location is the product they have available. The management team (if there even is one) is lacking in professionalism not only with their customers but with their associates as well. They treat clients like a hassle and treat the animals like they are just stock that can be bought out and replaced. I do not suggest anyone to shop at this location unless there is no other option. All I have to say is at least find people to work for your company that actually know information about the animals you choose to sell, and actually care about associate and client relations. read more

The staff is always friendly and I've recently joined their vital care program for both of my pups (the grooming discount is well worth it!!). Amanda was the second groomer I've ever taken the dogs too (first time was at the Burke store and it was HORRIBLE) and she was phenomenal. I have a 100 pound lab mix who is beyond hyperactive and a very calm golden retriever. She was able to keep them together, managed to get the nails cut on the wiggle worm and did an amazing job. Horrible customer service. We spoke with a lady (I wish I knew her name) and were going to buy 3 small neon tetras for our 5 gallon tank at home. We were also buying a 2 gallon tank with a beta for our friend. To quote her, "I morally can not sell to you since you are only going to have a 2 gallon tank" that tank wasn't even for those fish. I explained the situation to her and again, "I will not sell to you because you're only supposed to have 1 inch of fish per gallon". Great- I wasn't planning on it! The worst part was her attitude. This was our first time having our dog groomed, and the lady who helped us was wonderful. Her name is Wing, and she was very kind to our senior dog. We got a deshedding treatment for our dog and are pleased with the results. Prior to booking the appointment, I spoke with Wing and she patiently explained the options available. I had many questions, and she answered them all. I'm very grateful to Wing for the tenderness she showed our dog. Afterward, she gave me a run down of how everything went and how my dog reacted to each process along the way. What a positive experience for everyone! I went to the store with my boyfriend trying to buy fishes. We were looking at the fishes for about 20 minutes, and no one what so ever came over to see if we needed help. My boyfriend went to go get one of the staff. When we told the lady what we wanted she asked what size fish tank we had & she said she wasn't able to see us any. But when we went to the Petco in Bristow. The staff that sold us our fishes said it wasn't a problem. I think it's unfair that she's didn't want to sell us the fishes we wanted. read more

They have fresh water, then salt water then fresh water again. Why split that up? Anyway, they didn't have any of my fish or snails I was inquiring about so I left with out a purchase. In a nutshell: Clean store (it better be, it's brand new!) Unpleasant staff :( Same prices as everywhere else. :/ Plenty of parking I thought I'd see what the selection of leashes were as compared to our preferred pet store, and sure- they had an organized selection of leashes and collars. Another aisle had other collars meant for training, so I'm glad I kept looking, but was perplexed why they were separately displayed. I was in the store easily for 15 minutes, without so much as a hello from anyone. A young lady walked past me twice. She helped a customer in aquatics, rang them up while I was in line, then she simply walked away leaving me staring at the empty check out area. I said excuse me loud enough for her to hear, but got not even so much as a glance before she disappeared. Another young dude came to ring me up. I bought an 8.99 collar and there's just no reason to go back there. There's a much more personable store walking distance from this store that I will continue to use. Petco, you'd think with all the money you spent on a nice new store, you'd staff it accordingly. You'll be out of business before you know it. :( read more

It was my dogs first time at Manassas Petco grooming. She is older and tends to get tufts of hair and sheds A LOT. I took her to petco to get a bath and furminated. She was like a new woman after. This is my favorite Petco to go to in the area. The staff is great and they really do take care of the animals in the store. The cages and displays are always clean and the animals look healthy. The staff is friendly ( it is a smaller Petco so sometimes you have to ask for assistance up front if you need a mouse/rat). The manager is great and the store is clean and tidy. read more

Flo has done my golden retriever's grooming the last two times I've been in, and I've been absolutely delighted. It was quick, accurate and she's extremely friendly to my dog and I. I am very relieved that there is a good groomer here who exceeds the expectation that the groomer at my vet couldn't even meet. Additionally, everyone working in this Petco specifically is very pleasant and helpful, even giving treats to my pup. The store is always clean and stocked with new toys, treats, and sales opportunities so I'm more than happy to purchase any items from here. read more

I agree with Kate. I thought that it was just me. I go there for items that I know I can find. The last visit was for a barking collar that was in a case. I waited next to another couple and after 10minutes walked around an empty store and found 3 people huddled at the door near the fish tanks. I stood there waiting for them to stop talking to each other....they never did! I asked the cashier and they said that someone would help me soon. Another 5 minutes, I went over there and now 4 people were huddled, one being the manager, and she said she would be over (she was helping the couple before I arrived there). She apologized profusely and was very nice, but when I went to the counter and was checking out, this weird guy that walked into the grooming room and out, walked up and just started asking about grooming while I was paying for my long-awaited purchase. I stepped aside and told the cashier that I'd wait and she said she was helping me. He goes," Oh, go ahead." I continued and he started hovering 2 inches from me looking at the screen that I was signing. I commented on having some privacy and he was intent on being intrusive. I glared at him and he said good luck with my purchase. I think that the staff needs training or find another job that doesn't handle people because the cashier said NOTHING to this person. read more

Grooming: for years I would take my border collies to Petsmart for their grooming appointments and would always leave feeling disappointed or not completely satisfied with my dog's trim. For a collie grooming, the feathering should be trimmed, but they would either return my dogs the exact same as I dropped them off or over cut their fur. I look the collies to Petco since it is much closer to my house and was surprised at the amazing detail they paid to my dogs. They not only trimmed their feather appropriately to the breed, but also did an even trim around their body (back and neck). I wish I remembered the groomers name, but she did a fantastic job and I will definitely be going back read more

I went in to get food for my new puppy and the Manager, Chris was very informative and had excellent customer service. She took the time to get me everything I needed.
