During that visit, we were promised strong communication, regular photo updates, and a high standard of care while we were away. Sadly, our actual experience was the complete opposite. While traveling in Asia, we were told we'd receive regular updates. Instead, we got only three photos over a span of 10 days--and only after multiple follow ups and texts from our side. The lack of communication and unease made it difficult for any of us to enjoy our trip and we knew something was not right. When it came time for pickup, the owner was not even present. Just a few hours before we landed, we received a text informing us that our dog was injured and her teenage son would be there for pick up. There was no explanation, no phone call, no attempt to take responsibility, and not a single follow-up to check on how she was doing after. It felt cold, negligent, and deeply unprofessional. We later learned the injury was a torn ACL requiring surgery. What's most upsetting is that we had clearly disclosed a prior ACL injury in the intake paperwork--on the opposite leg. That information was either ignored or not reviewed at all. There was no transparency, no apology, and absolutely no concern for how serious the injury was. We chose Sugar Maple Farm because we wanted a safe and trusted place. When something went wrong, there was no accountability--only deflection. That trust was completely broken. It's devastating to watch our dog struggle with pain and limited mobility, and to know she now faces a 12-15 week recovery from a surgery that may have been preventable with proper care. We came home expecting to see her happy and healthy. Instead, we're managing a serious injury with no answers on what happened. If you value your dog's safety and well-being, I urge you to look elsewhere. Sugar Maple Farm may have glowing reviews, but our experience was proof that when things go wrong, this facility does not step up.

He's very sweet but started to get rambunctious to the point that my remote work felt challenging. He also started jumping or freezing when he saw other dogs on walks, and he occasionally barked or growled and men. We weren't sure if it was the start of aggressive behavior or just the result of a shelter dog that hasn't been exposed. After doing our research, we decided to do the 3 week behavior modification board and train program. We were really impressed from beginning to end. They shared a ton of information upfront, walked us through their facility (we opted to drop him off) and sent pictures and updates every evening. It became clear right away that they both have a very deep understanding of dogs, as well as a real respect and love for them. Tuck loved them! The best part was the "transition" day when Perry brought Tuck back and spent the day teaching us everything they've worked on together. We are first time dog owners so generally going in pretty blind. Perry gave us a 101 on dogs and the importance of clear and consistent communication. He talked through all of the layers of training and how/why it is effective. We felt this part was SO helpful for us to understand how to be better owners. Then we walked Tuck around the neighborhood with Perry guiding us and then spent time addressing indoor behaviors too. He was flexible and stayed until we felt comfortable with everything. This is a long review so the TLDR: finding a trainer is a big decision and investment so we wanted to get it right. Brandi & Perry were really incredible and beyond our expectations!! Truly worth every penny! Tuck has been doing really great at home and outside since being home. I've been able to work full days with him holding "place" on his cot, which would have been unheard of before!

I would HIGHLY recommend them and their methods - you can tell they genuinely love working with dogs and it's made a huge difference in giving my dog the chance to find real rest at home. They send DAILY updates with photos and videos which was so nice. This isn't a regular class or something you just pay for; it's truly an investment that you and your dog will be using for the time you get to share together. This is a story about Lola…read more Lola and her 6 or 7 siblings were rescued from a high-kill shelter in Georgia by Furever Haven Rescue in April 2023. By the time she came to us, by way of four previous foster homes in her short four month life, she had many behavioral problems. My husband and I felt pretty confidant that we could take on this little dog with skills we acquired having raised previous dogs and turn her into a well behaved dog. Then she started biting, not just your typical puppy nipping, but full on aggressive punctures. We knew we needed help. I contacted Chelsea at Valiant K9 and we set up a consultation right away. During that very first visit/training session, Chelsea was able to provide suggestions for dealing with Lola's aggression. Chelsea has a calm but firm and consistent style with the dogs that works! The agent said that was fine and I could get him anytime before closing. Mind you, I dropped him off before 10 am. So I'm basically getting free daycare along with the grooming fee. I thought the name of the company was odd, but I sent an email to the owner and she responded instantly and when I told her about my cat's issues she said she had the perfect "cat whisperer" for me. Done Deal! They came over for a meet and greet, we agreed to the terms and that was it! I left written instructions; the cat sitter checked in with me to confirm the start date. Every day I got a report (sometimes twice a day) and a report about what my little "angel" was up to. It was comforting to be so far away knowing he was being well cared for, personality and all. Best part, upon my return, everything was neat and clean- even in the litter room, so no messes for me to recover from. Thanks MMDP for helping me with dear George. I'll be calling on your services anytime I need a sitter for the precious little guy. Also of note, this company doesn't put you through an interrogation just to get an appointment, you don't need codes and lockboxes, and the prices were very reasonable.
