Meg's Loving Pet Care

Words cannot express how much I appreciate Meghan and her team (and especially my regular sitter…read moreCarrie) for the excellent care of my two kitties,Tia and Toby. I moved to Gainesville in 2017. My job responsibilities involve frequent out of town travel and my girl Tia required daily meds, so I really needed someone I could trust. Additionally my husband is not fond of my cats and is very particular about having "strangers" in the house, so that was another obstacle to overcome. The first cat sitter I found only came once or twice, i wasn't feeling that she was taking the best care of them. The second one i had was very good and I trusted her, but she ended up quiting because of my husband's complaints over small things. Totally panicked and needing to travel again soon,  I searched and found Meghan's Pet Care - and I'm so fortunate and thankful to have found her. Meghan was responsive, professional, patient, and reasonably priced. On short notice, they came out and met my kitties and picked up the key. Carrie became my regular pet sitter and she took EXCELLENT care of my babies. She sent me pics of them frequently and always texted me when she went to the house to let me know status. I could rest easy knowing my babies were in good hands under her care. It was a breath of fresh air having someone I could trust. One weekday morning my husband called to tell me Tia didn't look well at all. I called Meg and she got Carrie to go to the house promptly. She told me Tia was emaciated and needed to go to the vet. She promptly took her in and kept me updated, picked her up later that day, and took Tia home with her that evening to keep an eye on her. She sent me pics that night of Tia snuggling with her kids - me being so far away and unable to care for her myself, that was sooo comforting to see. Carrie brought Tia back home the next day and made sure she had her prescribed meds and food until I returned home that weekend. When I got home, I was overjoyed to see Tia looking perky, alert, and well. Unfortunately Tia fell illl again on Sunday night - and very early Monday morning, she unexpectedly passed away. I was distraight, I had Tia for 14 years and was very attached to her, this was one of the saddest times of my life - I never had a pet die in my home before, I was alone and didn't know what to do - so I reached out to Meghan and Carrie. Carrie called my vets office as soon as they opened and sent me pricing for them to handle cremation and other options. She also offered to come pick up Tia if I needed her to, and she provided comforting and kind words and guidance in my time of grief and confusion. I cannot tell you how much this meant to me. But more importantly, only because of Carrie's prompt attention and care during the previous week, I got to spend that one last weekend snuggling with my girl - and for that, I will be forever grateful.

DO NOT USE THIS PET CARE SERVICE. I board my pony at a Warrenton, VA area barn that used Zorgers…read morePet Care Service to provide twice a day feed/water service while the barn owner was away. The barn owner is excellent about communication, and related he was very concerned about booking them because their service has taken a steep nose dive. They had been booked for service in June and did not show up on scheduled dates, but luckily other barn workers were there to cover for them. If not, my pony and the other animals would have suffered. The Zorgers Pet Care Service owner explained it was all a big misunderstanding and our barn owner reluctantly booked again (it was too late to arrange another service for July). Communication from Zorgers was spotty, and very unfortunately again a feeding/watering was missed. Luckily a veterinarian was at the barn and spotted the distress the animals were in and corrected the situation. I am told that Zorgers offered no excuse, billed for the no-shows, and when confronted with all of this replied 'we've never had any problems. People love us.' If you do use this service, pay attention to the red flags. And don't say you weren't warned.

Careful of reviews. I was at first awed by the stellar reviews of Zorger's Pet Care LLC…read more What my dog and I experienced was something completely opposite. Nikki Zorger reportedly a licensed veterinary technician in Virginia and the owner made time to meet and greet my cherished dog and me. I truly valued what I perceived as caregiver who was warm, loving, and compassionate in ensuring quality care for living creatures. I entrusted Nikki and her company Zorger's Pet Care LLC to two (2) 30 min walks for 3 days a week, no feeding, freshening water and giving treat. I was delighted to receive walking reports and photo. The price was awesome, and now I think probably too good to be true--it was indeed. I began to notice the emergency pee pads completely saturated upon my return. This raised my concern when I knew my sweet girl hated to urinate inside the house and had rarely ever used the absorbent pads. I attributed this increased urination due to increased water consumption due to the increased exercise she was supposedly getting. I WAS WRONG. Completely Wrong. On 10/13/21 Nikki Zorger of Zorger's Pet Care LLC was to provide 2 x 30 min walks; the first between 10AM-1PM & The second between 3PM-6PM. I received an emailed report that the first walk went fine with reports of my dogs urination and defecation and general well being. On 10/13/21 I received a call from my housekeepers who had met Nikki once. They notified me at 5pm that no one had yet come to walk my dog. I drove home arriving at 5:30PM. I met with the housekeepers and they said no one has come from 3:04 pm to 5:30PM for the second walk.. I waited until 6PM. At 6PM I emailed Nikki asking what time my dog had last been walked. Nikki's email reply stated "around 4pmish" I called and emailed and texted asking for Zorger's Pet Care to help me understand the discrepancy and incongruency in her email. I had no response from Zorger's Pet Care. I did receive an email the following day. I was informed that Nikki had completed the first walk but had an emergency requiring her to go out of town and that she had made arrangements for Holly to walk my dog for the second walk. Who is Holly? She said she would speak with Holly in the AM upon her return. and she would have to "wrap her head around" a client receiving a visit report for a visit not completed. In her late night email, Nikki explained her emergency and how she contacted her administrative team to make arrangements to cover the remaining appointments. Nikki stated Holly was the walker.....who is Holly? I was informed they were unable to contact Holly nor could they locate her and she had my keys. Holly had been entrusted with the care of my dog without my knowledge and in possession of my keys. I experienced 3 separate occasions of saturated wet pads which makes me believe "Holly" had been providing the routine care. The 10/13/21 event confirmed the lies from Nikki and Zorger's Pet Care LLC . On 10/13/21 I received false documentation of services and billing for services that were never provided. I was informed that Nikki was not my dogs care giver after agreeing it would be only Nikki and if not, I would be notified if it weould be someone other than Nikki as in case of emergency. If not, I would be given the opportunity to meet the individual. Neither notification of emergency nor change in caregiver nor opportunity to meet ever occurred. Zorger's Pet Care LLC without my knowledge gave my keys to 'Holly" .I asked for return of my keys and was informed by Zorger's Pet Care LLC, Holly could not be contacted nor located and they were trying to meet with Holly. A report was filed with local police to have on record since my keys were given to someone without my knowledge and who could not be contacted/ located . The following Monday, i received emailed and photo confirmation that my keys had been secured. I received them via certified mail on Tuesday. The erroneous billing of services that were not provided were corrected and invoice was paid in full. From other reviews and my own experience, unfortunately, it appears there are frequent emergencies which disrupt the care operations of Zorger's Pet Care LLC, it's unfortunate for the animals who depend upon this care. Please Practice having a questioning attitude when reading these reviews. I wish I had. I'm grateful my cherished dog is not hurt. I am grateful she did not experience any greater neglect in her care from what I thought was a reputable pet care service. What hurts more is to think of the well being of vulnerable living creatures who are entrusted into the care of Zorger's Pet Care LLC and other pet care companies. Their loving owners who want only the best for their pets from companies whose owners either don't care themselves or do not care to perform due diligence on their employees.

We have a rescue, and those with a rescue dog understand the potential issues that come with them…read more Ours is nervous in new environments, fearful of loud noises and large objects, and anxious around strangers. But he's a totally normal playful happy puppy at home, around family, and once he gets to know the stranger. Unfortunately we sometimes go out of town and require boarding facilities. We tried another place in Warrenton, I won't name, but it claimed to be a suite for pets. Booked a 4 day stay and we're not sure what happened but our dog came back more nervous that he left. It took 2 weeks before he was back to himself. He also had what looked to be a callous on both front legs which he did not have when we dropped him off. His blanket also smelled of urine, which was totally strange because even with all his complexes he NEVER goes to the bathroom in the house. He'll whine and moan and stand by the door until we take him out. Needless to say we never went back there again. I tried another place in old town Haymarket. Were I was not given a tour of the facilities and grounds. Instead they took my dog in the back right away and let me watch his experience on the monitors at the front desk. But they didn't seem to know how to take care of a rescue like our dog. They took him in the back into the indoor play room and tried to integrate him into the pack way too soon. Not giving him time to acclimate. Instead of joining the pack he stayed with the young lady that brought him back there. Knowing my dog it would have been better to introduce him to one dog at a time instead of overwhelming him with a pack. Because he didn't immediately join the pack they told me he wasn't a good candidate. I think the young lady (teenager) was possibly inexperienced or wasn't trained well. Had she been, she would he have tried a different approach. Especially after I informed her of the best way for our dog to meet new people and dogs. Then we found Pawsawhile. We had the walk through and yes it's a converted house but the property is huge with large fenced outdoor play areas. We were shown the entire property and facility and in no time or Dog was playing with the nun that was showing us around. He was walking with her, coming to her when called, fetching the ball. And I love how she didn't force herself on him, she allowed him to come to her making a great connection with him. We've been using them for daycare 1 day a week so he can play with other dogs and boarding when we travel. Now Our dog will drag us into the building when he goes there, he seems so happy. When we drop him off he gladly goes with the handler and doesn't even look back at me to say goodbye, lol. I highly recommend PawsAWhile. Everyone we've come in contact with has been kind, and easy to talk to, and very responsive. The nuns are caring and informative and you can tell they love animals and from my experience take great care of your family Pet.

Too crowded. The nuns that run it are lovely people and they have lots of land for the animals to…read morerun. But their inside area is filled with cages on top of each other, side by side and all filled with dogs wanting attention. When not being taken outside, they stay in their cages . I think it is too many animals too close together for too long.
