What a great idea for our doggie babies! It truly is a resort even from the little bit I got to see. I was so embarrassed when we arrived because my little demon decided to take a number two right in the lobby. The staff didn't flinch and assured me they would take care of it. They checked us in just like they would do for me when I visit a spa and ushered him away for his grooming appointment. They called me a few hours later to say my boy was ready but I told them I wouldn't be able to get him until a couple of hours later. The agent said that was fine and I could get him anytime before closing. Mind you, I dropped him off before 10 am. So I'm basically getting free daycare along with the grooming fee. Which I also didn't pay for because I had a complimentary visit! I gave a nice tip when I picked him up and he rounded the corner with a glorious mane. I couldn't stop laughing because he was blown out to the GAWDS. Anyway, we will be back and I know it will be worth it. read more

My 11 year old black lab, Ben Bennett, has been swimming at the Dulles OTPR since July 2025 when the pool in Springfield needed repair. From the fist day the Dulles facility adopted us and were warm and friendly greeting Ben at the reception area. The swimmers have consistently given Ben the very best 20 minute swim work out leaving him happy and tired. I very much appreciate these swims as he had surgery on both back legs and this exercise helps keep Ben limber and arthritis free. After the swim, the Groomers clean his ears to ensure all the pool water is cleared and brush his teeth to save Ben from the cleaning with the Vet as anesthesia is required for this procedure. The Groomers have done an excellent job in taking care of Ben who is very happy to be with them. I know they have saved him from ear infections. We are very fortunate to have this facility available to us and I am very appreciative of their care and concern for my beloved family member. Great prices for complete grooms honestly- I've been quoted much more at smaller lesser known places. This spot is pretty luxurious, doggy day care, boarding, Grooming, swim training, everything your furry pet needs. I brought my puppy here while they were running their holiday 15% off deal. They are very strict with vaccinations so make sure they are up to date before they cancel your apt! My lil boy Figaro got a great groom, pretty close to the skin because he had some matting. I was a little disappointed because the second they brought him out he peed himself in the lobby as if he wasn't let out all day. I made a comment and at the moment wasn't adjusted it given reason. I noticed some scratches and what looked like razor burn on his lil private parts. I wasn't too happy with this female groomer. Finley went last week. He got a "crushed velvet" cut no skin showing but short and fluffed. He smelled and looked great! He was happy! He prefers male groomers and Ronaldo did a FANTASTIC Job. I was very happy with his groom and he was not stressed out. I mentioned my prior apt and they took off 10%. Bottom line, just don't leave your dog here longer than necessary. I don't think they pay too much attention to the groomed dogs when they are done. Overall, the dogs got a great haircut and I will be able to maintain the style and brush them to keep their coats healthy. Unsure if I would come back. read more

Staff was very friendly and took their time with our corgis. The play rooms had a lot of energetic dogs and there is even a pool if you decide to sign up and utilize it. Best of all was our corgis were exhausted by the time they came home and slept the whole rest of the night. Not great for boarding dogs. I paid 120 a night for boarding. It came with a camera. I asked for four walks a day and some playtime. The first day seemed fine on camera. She slept, had an accident (accidents happen) and I saw employees in and out. The second day? All I saw was droppings and urine in her cage. No one came to take her out--they just cleaned it up at the end of the day and let it be. She's NEVER gone in her crate at home, and for the year I've had her has gone regularly outside like clockwork. I don't know what seems to be going on, but I paid an awful lot of money for my dog to sit in her cage in feces. I'm never taking her back. The dog groomers are great: they do an amazing job keeping her clean and trim. But boarding? Hard pass read more

I had my almost 2 year old lab/foxhound mix (M) do a board and train for 2 weeks with Alexander. Wow....what an improvement!! Prior the training Sullivan was getting more and more reactive to other dogs on leash. He would take off from the house if he had a chance. He was also getting more dominant with other dogs in group settings After 2 weeks with Alexander (and only 2 days home with me) look at these pictures!! There are woods behind him and he stayed perfectly! We have had several walks already and have had MUCH better interactions when we encountered other dogs. Alexander was great with sharing videos of the training so that I can refer back to them as needed. He took Sullivan to Home Depot and One Loudon to work on skills with distractions. We spent about 45-60 min going over the training techniques when I picked up my dog as well and also offered access via phone/text if needed. The key to all this (which I knew going into) is really retraining myself more so than my dog! I will continue to work on tire technique and training. My dog has some medical issues and separation anxiety (arguably both of us). I needed to travel for the weekend and wasn't able to bring my dog with me. Old Towne Pet Resort (OTPR) put all my worries at ease. From a tour of the facility with their director (Robin) to convenient after hours/early morning check-in staff (Joanne and Noah), and their webcam suites, OTPR checked all the boxes. The aforementioned staff are the GOLD STANDARD when it comes to expectations for pet care. For most of us, our dogs are more than pets and better than blood relatives, so entrusting their health and well being is super important. I'm grateful that OTPR has a wonderful staff and facility that I know my pup is in great hands if I ever need to board him again. read more

We took a week-long trip, but could not take our cat with us. Old Towne Pet Resort was not the closest boarding location to our home, but they came highly recommended and their pricing and policies were reasonable. I'm glad we chose them. The cattery was in high demand, so we didn't get the exact type of unit (with a window and camera) we wanted, but their staff were helpful in suggesting an alternative which actually saved us a little money. They took great care of our cat, sent photos, made sure he played with others, and even organized a nail trimming spa day. This review is for the Dulles location. The staff was great from when we first checked in for our cat's boarding, communication during Joey's stay, and at pickup. We received daily text messages when he was about to be let out to play so that we could log in to the remote camera to watch him. His condo is also right in front of another remote camera so that I can check in on him anytime - really love that. The facility is large and clean. They even gave a military discount. I very much prefer the Dulles location in every way, even though it is 30 miles away from my house. The Bethesda location is much closer, but cat boarding is not good. The Bethesda location is very small, didn't have many remote cameras and the ones they did have didn't work most of the time (or weren't on), and my cat came home sick after a stay there. They didn't have any camera pointing directly into the cat condos so I couldn't check on my cat at all. The only camera was for the play area, and it didn't work at any time that I tried to check - very disappointed. read more

We took our puppy here for a daycare evaluation and was very disappointed with our experience. The evaluation was a total of 30 minutes, if that. This is from the time we entered the facility, to the time we left, so the actual eval was probably closer to 20 minutes. They failed my puppy for being too shy, as he didn't open up within that short time period. I did enjoy that we were able to watch the evaluation, but it should be longer. I wouldn't be comfortable in a new environment with random new dogs in under 30 minutes either. He showed no signs of aggression, he was just simply shy and a little scared. We ended up going to another daycare (Playful Pack) that has a minimum of four hours for the evaluation, and he passed on the first try. He loves daycare and just needed someone to be patient with him, and unfortunately, that was not Olde Town Pet Resort. read more

On 6/30 I picked my dog Duke up from the facility and was informed he had no issues occur during his stay. I received photos of him while he was there and could watch him on a webcam in his suite so I believed this to be correct. Prior to departing I inventoried all of his items I dropped him off with, his bed, toys, extra food and medication bags to ensure we left with everything we should. However, his bag of belongings was missing the additional medication bags I provided so I went back inside to inquire with a representative where they were. The front desk representative called on the radio to have his additional medications brought to the front. After an extended wait the front desk representative informed me they were unable to locate his additional medication bags. I told them I would like to speak with the manager of the boarding facility and Ms. Meg Lienesch, Pet Care Director came to speak with me.   Ms. Lienesch conveyed to me the medications may have been placed in another suite's bin during the process of acquiring all his belongings for check out and they would continue to look for them. I expressed to her my concern with his medications being missing as well as a concern that he was properly administered his medications during his stay. Presumably to ease my concern Ms. Lienesch retrieved Duke's tracking card from his stay which showed his feedings, medication being administered, walks and such (see attached image of his card). Upon seeing Duke's card I immediately noticed multiple days during his stay, the AM blocks of 6/23, 6/24, and 6/30 were not marked displaying his medications were administered as medically required for his well-being and comfort. Ms. Lienesch was unable to provide an explanation for why these day's blocks were blank and told me she would look into the "scans" for those days. Additionally, when checking in Duke I arranged for him to receive extra playtime each evening however, at least four of the days those blocks on his chart are also not filled in the same as other days are, there's large empty circles around the blocks. After doing additional research over the weekend into my dog's care and Virginia laws on 7/2 I emailed Mr. Chris Tyler, Executive Director of the facility. I expressed my dismay and concern with the level of care my dog received as well as the suffering he endured due to multiple days of missing his medication as well as the charges for services not rendered that I was billed for. On 7/3 I received an email from Ms. Rosemarie Axelson, Vice President of Operations & COO of Olde Towne Pet Resort conveying that she spoke with Mr. Tyler in great detail that morning. Also that Ms. Axelson called a meeting that morning with her Pet Care Director, Executive Director and Executive Team as they went through all reports, med sheets, and any info that was related to Duke. Later in the afternoon I spoke with Ms. Axelson on the telephone to discuss the matter in more detail. While I appreciate and acknowledge her candor during our conversation. There is however one area of the conversation that still gave me pause and continued concern. Ms. Axelson conveyed to me that during her investigation there were "scans" in the system where the medication is drawn from showing Duke's medications were retrieved every time they were scheduled to be administered. Also, she mentioned that the card which tracks his care is kept at the suite he's in and presumably filled out after actions are completed such as feedings, walks, medication and so forth. Which brings me to my area of unease, what assurances do I have to believe that just because his medication was drawn from where it's stored that it was also administered to him after being withdrawn. Seeing as his medication was also withdrawn from this same area prior to his departure Friday and has still not been found or turned up anywhere for over four days presents a very real example of his medications leaving one location and never making it to their final destination, back home with us or potentially not inside of him. The lack of oversight in his care between the card not being properly completed, extra play times not occurring, potentially a lack of medication being administered over seven different incidents per his card displays a systemic issue that I venture to say did not only affect Duke during his time staying there. I don't believe he was an anomaly and most likely this level of neglect is occurring with other pets who stay there. Ms. Axelson did agree to provide me a full refund for his stay there as well as reimburse me for the cost of his missing medication if I would like. While as mentioned above she did accept responsibility and not did not offer excuses or attempt to gloss over the situation I still believe it's important for other's to be fully informed before considering leaving their pet in the care of Olde Towne Pet Resort thus my leaving this review. read more

We boarded our dog here for the first time last month. Sadly, it did not live up to the advertised experience. We booked the "five star" reservation, which is the second-most expensive option and is supposed to include 4 walks, 2 playtimes, and a private webcam. Since this was his first time boarding, my fiancé, my mom, and I were all obsessively checking the webcam and were kind of surprised by what we saw. As you can see from the pictures, the "five-star" reservation basically gets your dog a little jail cell, reminiscent of a pound or dog shelter. I thought they would at least provide some blankets or toys, but they don't give the guests anything other than what their owner provides for them. Our poor pup looked cold and anxious during his entire stay, and absolutely tore out of there when we picked him up. Also, we timed the walks and playtimes when they took him out of his cage, and they were very short. Two stars because the front desk staff were very polite and helpful in getting a last-minute reservation, and I think they met his basic needs concerning safety and feeding. However, I don't believe we got what we paid for and will try a different pet resort next time we need to board him. read more

If only this place was close to home! I live in Vienna and have tried several different dog daycare places, and this place stands out, truly feeling like a resort. I toured the facility as I often do when my dog first tries a place, and they literally took 20 minutes to carefully introduce my dog to the rest of the dog crowd that day, one by one, and everything was clean. Staff were very attentive and friendly and the facility has all the amenities you'd want for your dog. Lauren has been nothing but exceptional while training my Australian Cattle Dog. He has always been a talker, but it was really hard for us to have company over with how vocal he would get when he got too excited. After working with Lauren I immediately noticed a difference, he was so much quieter when people came over. Lauren goes out of her way to do fun activities with him. He absolutely loves doing agility with her and comes home a happy, sleepy boy. After working with her for some time I can now bring him to new environments with lots of new people and he handles it like a champ. No more uncontrollable barking. Lauren makes a point to give me valuable skills, and tips for handling situations in which my dog's excitement levels might get out of hand, and for that I am extremely appreciative. read more

We have a 22 lb. dog and in 2018 were planning on taking a whole family vacation. We worried about having someone come into our home while we were gone, so we started looking into kennels. The first two we saw were scary (both are no longer in business), then we remembered seeing the sign on Rt 28 for a pet resort. We knew nothing about this place and like the others we went to unannounced with our dog to check it out. We INSTANTLY saw and smelled how clean it was ( or lack of smell should I say), but no bleach smell either. The staff all were so welcoming and friendly and many really fawned over our dog and he only gave love back, no warning growls etc. from him. Then we were offered a tour of the place and OMG was this place clean! We were then even more impressed by the style of their rooms for the dogs with the set up for bedding, water availability, windows for some to be able to look out of and more. The kitchen where they prepared each dogs meals individually per clients requirements was clean an very organized. Plus, there was an indoor heated pool for the dogs to play in if we wanted. Right there and then we booked our Bandit to stay. They even gave us a free pool pass to bring him in before his stay to get used to the place. We took advantage of the pool pass and our Bandit had a great time! We visited several other times and they let us take Bandit out to the play area so he could get familiar with that before he stayed with them. The day before we were to travel, we brought Bandit for his vacation and he was so excited to go it, that proved to us we had made the right choice! Our Bandit has now stayed there several times, has gone swimming even though he wasn't staying there, we've had him groomed there too. So we've used all of their service ( I think), and we would highly recommend this place for your pet., Just a side note, it was our 3rd visit there that I finally asked about the stairs close to the front door when we learned that was the part for cats. We never heard any yowling nor did we smell any ammonia fumes. Have never sneaked a peek but based on what they do and have for dogs, I'm sure their areas for the cats are epic! read more

My dog loves coming here! We did a 2-week stay and train, Alexander did a wonderful job with my 6 year old dog in getting him to begin breaking years old habits. After the stay, I met with Alexander for a good hour where he walked me through all the different exercises they did. I brought my one-year-old dog Violet here for training with Alexander and he did a great job helping us fix some impulsivity issues she had with dogs and walking in general. After a few months of individual and private lessons, we saw major improvement with Violet. Alexander will absolutely be my go-to for any additional training needs in the future. We also board Violet at OTPR and have never had a bad experience. She seems to love the staff and we appreciate being able to take her somewhere and not worry if she's being cared for properly. read more

Alex Crespo trained my Cavapoo puppy (and me) and did an amazing job! He really breaks things down into steps that both my dog and I could understand and achieve at home as well. I saw progress immediately! He clearly loves his job and brings great energy and enthusiasm to each lesson. For the Dulles Location: It was our cat's first grooming experience and to say we were nervous is putting it lightly. It's hard to find a place that can do well with cats just as they do with dogs and having read all the horror stories from others it was a daunting task. We were probably more nervous and anxious than our cat! He hates going to the vet and we were convinced he was going to hate getting groomed too. Surprisingly, we were told he was great! The staff was super helpful and courteous and made sure to check you through all the details. We saw Betty for this appointment and to say she was amazing is an understatement. Our cat's problem areas were gone and he looked and smelled fantastic. He was also in a good mood! That was definitely the biggest surprise. This team is full of professionals. I've been looking for a cat groomer for MONTHs in my area. I had reached out to several businesses and they either didn't take cats or were booked until next year. I kept looking and found Olde Towne. I called, they set me up with an appointment within 2 days. I couldn't believe it! I take my long/medium hair cat there w clumps of hair and knots all over the place.. They groomed him and cut out the clumps. He looks like a MILLION dollars. You could tell he liked his new look b/c all the cuddles he got from my kids when he got home. 10/10, highly recommend grooming. I did get a tour of their cat boarding facility and I like that they have web cams set up for owners to view their cat throughout the day. I highly recommend Alexander Crespo at Olde Towne Pet Resort at their Dulles location for dog training. He was recommended to me sometime ago but I was positive with my 50 years of raising Labradors, Siberian Huskies and a few others I could overcome my four year old Lab's habits that her husky siblings taught her but when they passed away, she took upon herself to create her own style of walking which was not the safest for either of us. I was so wrong and I'm very glad I took the chance on Alexander. He not only geniunally cares for my dog but is very supportive and helpful with my understanding and execution of each tecnique. He never gets frustrated, and he explains why it's important and why my Lab, Gertie needs to know it's necessary and important. Within the first three lessons she had perfected each task. Then by the fourth lesson with me in attendence he discovered, just how strong Gertie could be when attempting one of her less diserable bad habits and recommended Gertie wear an training E Collar. Gertie is 90lbs. Immediately, I purchased his recommendation, he trained us both on how that works and now I'm working with Gertie everyday, plus using all of the key words Alexander uses in his training like, "Place", "Stay", "Break" and she's a STAR. Today she actually saw another dog, stopped herself from walking and layed down waiting for a treat before I even suggested it. Both Gertie and I walk together everyday with a lot more confidence and security thanks to Alexander. She loves training days and whines the entire time in the car until we get there. read more

The reservation staff (shout out to Stephanie) is very detail-oriented and I so appreciate that. Check-in staff reviews everything, ensures everything is clear, down to his food, and again very accommodating (shout out to the check-in staff at Dulles and Bethesda (they accommodated me in Bethesda on short notice when Dulles was full).
