I have a cat that doesn't like people (except for me) and it's been hard for me to decide whether to board him or find a sitter. After I had made an appointment for boarding for 9 days (he'd be in a little room with a window to the outside) I decided to look for a sitter. I do not feel comfortable hiring any one of the (seems like) hundreds of teens or young adults that gig as a pet sitter; I was looking for a company that has experience and a good reputation. I thought the name of the company was odd, but I sent an email to the owner and she responded instantly and when I told her about my cat's issues she said she had the perfect "cat whisperer" for me. Done Deal! They came over for a meet and greet, we agreed to the terms and that was it! I left written instructions; the cat sitter checked in with me to confirm the start date. Every day I got a report (sometimes twice a day) and a report about what my little "angel" was up to. It was comforting to be so far away knowing he was being well cared for, personality and all. Best part, upon my return, everything was neat and clean- even in the litter room, so no messes for me to recover from. Thanks MMDP for helping me with dear George. I'll be calling on your services anytime I need a sitter for the precious little guy. My cats and I love MMDP! I reached out to them a couple months ago for the first time after someone recommended them to me, and nearly immediately Ms. Blake got back to me. Within a few days she came over to meet with me and my cats, and to set up my pet profiles. The process was very thorough, she was very nice, and my cats loved her. Ultimately, Jessica was assigned to help with my cats, and of course, my cats LOVED her!! Even the elderly cat who is super shy eventually came out of his shell and allowed her to get close. The bonus is, Jessica sent me pix of them every day. When I got back from my week long vacation, everything was in order, my cats were fed and cleaned after and happy. My French teacher's boyfriend runs a pet sitting company from their home. I decided to hire him to watch my golden doodle. I thought this would be a good arrangement given that they have a golden doodle, who is the same age as my pup. Needless to say, things did not go well for him there. He became physically ill -- vomiting, bloody stools, and constant panting. This was totally unexpected. This was not the first time that I left him in the care of others, including friends and Make My Day Please pet sitters (Melissa and Cristin).. The pet sitter wanted my dog to return home. To make matters worse, the sitter said that he could neither take my dog home nor care for him there. I was so worried about my pup. What was I to do given that I was an ocean away? I immediately called Catherine, who went into action. Within an hour, she had a pet sitter (Linda) lined up. A dear friend drove from Manassas to the 66/495 exchange to pick up my dog from the pet sitter. She took him to the emergency vet, where he was given a clean bill of health. Apparently, he became sick from stress. Linda then stayed with my dog for the next four nights. She helped nurse him back to normal. She sent me regular updates about how he was doing. My friend actually crossed paths with Linda at my house. She said that my dog was so happy to see Linda, who was very sweet and gentle with him. All I can say is WOW! The ease of scheduling a meet and greet to coming home to happy cats was just wonderful. I needed someone to watch my "boys" while I was away for 6 days and I chose this business due to the other reviews. The daily rate was affordable and I love that not only the owner comes to meet with you and your pets, but the person caring for your cats comes as well. The thoroughness of the questions show that this is a group of dedicated people looking to meet every individual pets needs. I even let them know about a few obstacles that could occur (my cleaning ladies like to leave all of my doors open but close the litter box door) and Meghan went above and beyond to make sure this didn't happen while I was away. I found Make My Day Please (MMDP) when I started a new job and needed mid-day walks for my 14 year old Lab and 9 month old Brussels Griffon puppy. Savannah, the lab, needed extra care and the puppy had major digestive issues but Danielle and Catherine at Make My Day Please put all my worries to rest and the transition was a smooth one. Luckily my other half was diligent enough to select a pet sitter - and he chose MMDP! She even spent a little extra time with our boy to make sure he had everything he needed (he currently has a broken leg so this was greatly appreciated). Additionally, Catherine, the owner, is present for every Meet n' Greet along with your sitter should you request that they be there as well. We started using them a year ago to take care of our dogs Lucky and Max. They have always provided an excellent service from their initial meet and greet with both our dogs. They were always accommodating to any requests we had and had no issues when we needed a dog sitter on late notice. We used them mainly for day trips and had Neil come over and feed and take them out. He did an excellent job and took care of any messes the dogs made. We decided to use them for a week long vacation and Neil came over to take care of them everyday, we were so worried because we never left them that long. But we could not be happier. The price was very reasonable and they got to stay in their home instead of being in a kennel. I highly recommend them. We are so pleased with the services provided. I have 2 labs one a senior with a serious medical condition and a 10 month old pup both our boys are VERY well taken care of!!! They love Karen our walker (we love her too!) and she clearly cares very much about them. We couldn't be happier with her and the company.
