Brought my dog in for a nail trim and one of the groomers advised they would need to charge extra for dematting on the paw pads which was fine but then proceeds to talk poorly right in front of me and make rude comments about the condition of the paw pads like I don't know how to take care of my animals, mind you this was my puppy's first groom ever and I didn't think to pay attention to her pads nor knew that about this breed and how they can get over grown. In my opinion, if this was brought to my attention in a more respectful way and in an educational way, it would've made the situation turn out different. Also brought my older dog here months ago and same groomer advised he wasn't cooperative and was hard to handle and that he wouldn't stand and how he needs to go to a private spa yet i was NEVER told this or knew that was a thing but he's an old dog he can't stand for that long. It just makes me wonder what goes on when the owners aren't there while an animal is being groomed and how our animals are being treated. And lastly, i brought my other puppy here for his first groom, had the SAME groomer for the 3rd time and told her what I only wanted done on him and that was just his arms and feet/nail trim because for a cavalier King Charles you don't shave them or cut them short they have their hair a certain way as it's always been, so I go to pick him up and she cut the top of his head WHY?! WHO KNOWS and then also cut his pee pee hair which I was so upset about because for weeks until it grew back he w as peeing on himself because that little hair is the aim for when males go pee. Also the manager there now, knew about this groomers bad attitude yet didn't do anything about it and defended her. Do not recommend going here for any grooming needs. read more

Brought my 2 cats to the Greece location for nail trims and ear cleaning. When I arrived, I asked for some paper towel and wipes because 1 cat had gotten sick and 1 cat had gone to the bathroom. As I was cleaning their carriers Mia went out into the store. When she came back in she stated that she was not going to be able to service my cats because they seemed too stressed out and asked if I wanted to schedule another appointment?! Absolutely NOT. Do you expect a cat to come into a store PURRRing??? I was so annoyed that I put me cats through that and she never even touched them. I will NEVER go back. read more

My goldendoodle was dropped off for grooming by my husband. He was told there would be an extra $20.00 charge for de matting. He agreed to this. I picked up my dog and was told there was an extra $10.00 for brushing his tail. The groomer shaved my dog almost to the skin including his head. She only left fur on his ears and tail. He looks ridiculous. I thought about it overnight and went back the following day to express my dissatisfaction. I spoke to Egypt who said she was a manager. She took pics of my dog from my phone that I just took and sent them to her supervisor. I was told she would call me the following day. The supervisor had not called by 3:30 pm so I stopped by on my way home from work. Jen came to talk to me saying she was just about to call me. The parking lot was empty so I'm not sure what the delay in calling was about. I explained my concerns such as shaving and de matting are completely different. De matting saves the coat where shave removes the coat. Therefore I should not have paid an extra $20.00 for de matting that obviously wasn't done. She agreed by definition I was correct but that is not Pet Smarts definition. I also said the Bath & Cut included brushing. My dog was shaved except tail & ears but I was charged and extra $10.00. The body didn't need brushing obviously, it was shaved almost to the skin. She kept focusing on my husband okaying the de matting. My response-he signed for a service that wasn't done that makes the signature null & void. I also let her know that I did a little research. Pet Smart groomers work on commission. This to me explains the extra charges. I also asked if she knew what a groomed goldendoodle should look like? She said yes LOL (apparently not) and neither did the groomer. She brought me into the grooming area to read the notes from the groomer (who was in the grooming area along with 2 other groomers). She insisted my dog was matted which is absolutely not true. I have had dogs my whole life and worked in the animal care industry for 35 years. I know what a mat is and I told her this. The groomers were very unprofessionally giggling at our conversation. When I asked the so called store manager if she was okay with this she said nothing. I asked for her supervisors number and she said call corporate. I asked for a number and was given the IT number which is useless. I am still going to follow up with this matter. During all of this I never made any demands and was treated horribly. I wish I had read the reviews and how many stars they have. Stay clear they are unprofessional and un educated when it comes to grooming. I signed up on line to have my puppy groomed, I told the people when I brought my puppy in that I wanted a puppy cut, he has been very hot. when I came to pick him up almost 3 hours later, I was told they did not give him what I asked for, t hey bathed him, cut his nails and cut around his face and feet, NOT what I chose to pay for when I signed up to bring him there, Then on the bill they put a fee of $10.00 to brush my dog!!! seriously poor comprehension of the basic job that was requested, I told them twice I wanted the full cut and was told when I brought him , they would see. I said no, I want the full puppy cut I should have turned and ran before leaving my dog with them. $50 later my puppy is panting from being hot! Reason I brought him for a grooming to begin with., Never will I use Petsmart again and will share this with my friends and family.. read more

I took my puppy to PetSmart Grooming Salon and was severely disappointed for many reasons. It was the first time my dog had gotten groomed and I expected that they would take this into consideration in the way they treated him. However, they did not they treated him as just another dog aka just another number aka just another dollar. They took him into the back and would not let me watch. They told me that it would take no longer than 2 hours and would call me when they were finished to come pick him up. After 2 hours I still had yet to hear from them so I went to the store to see what was going on. When I arrived I heard my dog whimpering in the back. They told me he had been done and waiting for me over an hour. They had never called to let me know like they said, they just sent me an email which I was not looking for. I was devastated hearing my dog whimper and knowing that he had been for so long. Then when he came out his hair was an inch shorter than I had asked it to be and he looked awful. My mom actually cried when she saw him. The groomer then had the nerve to tell us that he was not the most cooperative. Of course not! It was his first time and he was nervous, it was her responsibility to make him feel as comfortable as possible and that was clearly not done. What's even worse is then the next time I went to PetSmart with my dog he refused to go into the store and cried. This shocked me because before he was groomed he loved going to PetSmart. So I can only assume other horrible things happened I am not privy to. I will never take my dog here again and would not recommend anyone else either. read more

I booked 7:00 am grooming appointments at PetSmart for my two dogs. Julie A isn't being deaf-friendly. I communicated with her by typing on my phone, but she continually speaks as if I'm a hearing person. She didn't even once communicate with me through writing or typing on the phone and showed no effort to understand my needs. I'll never recommend any deaf people to go to this place. The vibe was off, and Julie showed no friendly emotion. She has a rbf. My dogs tensed up around her, which is unusual as they've been to grooming many times at different locations without issues. When Julie A was ready to groom my dog, her body language frightened my dog, and she showed no confidence around dogs. She came across as very awkward. If you're considering having your pet groomed there, I would recommend not booking Julie A. She definitely doesn't seem to care about dogs. Many groomers would be excited and take the time to familiarize themselves with new dogs, but she doesn't do that. read more

I will never give this PetSmart my money ever again. First, I went in with my puppy for a recommendation on a durable, retractable leash. The one they recommended jammed and broke in only 3 weeks! Then, they were mildly rude when I tried to exchange it for something else (they didn't let me return OR exchange it at all - they basically told me too bad so sad). I also asked for a recommendation on a rope toy for tug of war with my pup - since he has managed to demolish 3 in a month. I, again, was looking for something more durable. They recommended something made by that shitbag Bret Michaels company. Pup destroyed that one within 2 days - a new record for him! There will be no "3 Strikes And You're Out" for this PetSmart. There are tons of other pet stores to spend my money at for my rapidly growing puppy. read more

This branch of PetSmart is more or less, the typical feeling of a PetSmart that you would find anywhere but with a few added perks. The interior is nicely kept up considering that pets are allowed to roam the store. The layout is colorful and upbeat with the occasional happy dog barking and a grumpy "meow" echoing from the back of the store. Prices here range from cheap to expensive depending on what you are looking for. I recommend shopping here for pet food and toys but I can't say on the poor pets themselves. I will leave that up to anyone else willing to judge the pets but, listen to what the cats have to say. read more

I scheduled an appointment for dog grooming at the Greece NY location for my pup via the online booking tool on Petsmart website. I was called about an hour later and notified that the store was cancelling my appointment. When asked why the associate stated that the store books multiple dogs for one groomer at any given time and that my dog was "not 4lbs" so he would not be able to be done. I feel like this is really poor business practice and I will be unlikely to pursue services with petsmart grooming in the future if this is how they operate. If a dog is too big to be handled by your groomers in an available time slot, then the slot should not be advertised as being open. Very disappointing. read more

Brandy is absolutely amazing. Have had my dog for 3 1/2 years and I tried 3 groomers before Brandy. My havanese came back looking like a schnauzer with the other ones. Brandy groomed her perfectly and I haven't gone to anyone else since. Even if she's booked I won't use anyone else. On several occasions I've let her become overgrown and matted from not being able to get her in due to busy lives and Brandy never complains or puts me down for it. She truly has a love for animals and I feel my Shadow is in great hands every time I leave her with Brandy. I feel very lucky to have someone so great who does an incredible job!! read more

I really enjoy using this store for their pet salon. I have never once had any issues with their paw-dicures. You definitely get your money's worth too because they actually file the nails and clean their ears. There prices are a little costly. I prefer buying online but I will use Petsmart if I need something last minute. The staff at this store are always pleasant. I go for my dog's nails a lot and most of the time they compliment how big my dog is getting. A couple times when I only brought one dog they asked where the other one was! This store used to be smaller then they expanded it. The newer store is quite large and they have a lot of good quality pet supplies. The only thing I don't like is that they stopped selling tropical fish. They still have supplies but they have a small selection. The dog and cat supplies are plentiful as well as things like crickets and mealworms for our lizard (Godzilla). The staff are friendly and knowledgeable but I have to make a separate trip for the fish read more

After taking my dogs to the Greece store's grooming salon for over 5 years, I am leaving. First red flag was my little guy's groomer left and instead of moving our appointments, they just CANCELLED them and informed me it would be two weeks before anyone could groom them. Then the day before their appointment, they cancelled again, telling me it would be ANOTHER two weeks before they could "squeeze them in"! I've gotten appointments with in-demand NYC stylists faster than these people can groom a 5- & 10-pound Pomeranian. Not to mention when they did groom them, they never clipped my little guy's nails. The service here has slipped tremendously and the management is completely unapologetic. Not even worth one star. read more

I've been taking my havenesee dogs there for about 1-year. NO MORE! The last few times, staff have been very irrate when too many dogs are in their waiting area. One time we were cashing out and we were told to take our dogs out to the car and pay, so that we don't make the other dogs uncomfortable on the table. ARE YOU SERIOUS - ARE WE ALL DOG OWNERS OR WHAT! You request to have little touches done like their chalking-always an excuse that we won't like it, if it rains it will come off and it will come off on your furniture. Always request some sort of scarf or ribbons and they come out with nothing. Rush, Rush - what a shame, I pay good money and hope that my dogs are having a good experience for being there almost 3 hrs. Oh and god for big your running a little late to pick them off if you live a distance, they want you there right on time and no later, no exceptions. Each time we have been going its rush, rush, pay, pay - I don't mind paying at all, no cost is too high for them, but this time, one came back sick and the other drink water to no end that day. I had a terrible expirence at petsmart. I brought my pitbull and yorkie there one. I was told it would take 3 hours for the service to be complete. I came back 3 hours later and they still had an hour of work left go do. Then they gave me my pit back soaking wet and my yorkies hair cut was completly uneven. The groomer didnt even apologize for the long wait. The customer service was worse then the actual grooming and the actual grooming was bad. I never went back after that day. read more

I purchased a "vet assured" Russian tortoise from this location. After getting him home he wouldn't eat or open his eyes. I took him into the vet and was told he most likely has cataracts and will require surgery to place a feeding tube for long term feedings. He also had a heavy load of parasites. I spoke to the store manager and was told even though I was within my 14 day health guarantee that they would not refund me or pay my vet Bill unless I brought the tortoise back to their so called "care", which I was not about to do as they had failed to provide adequate veterinary care in the first place. They also told me that he had never seen a veterinarian while at the store but did at the wholesaler. He was at that store for several months and was never seen by one of their veterinarians and they still claim that their animals are "vet assured". Please do not purchase animals from petsmart. They falsely claim that they are healthy. read more
