We try to support local businesses as much as we can so we frequent Park Ave Pets for our dogs food, bones, collars and nail trimming. This is a great little store with a pretty large selection. Lupine collars are some of the best looking high quality collars you can get. You won't find these at your Petsmart or Walmart. We give our dog Blue Buffalo food which she loves and recently switched to grain less because the lamb and rice was not great for her. The owner as always was so helpful when I was trying to figure out what to buy. In the back there is a groomer and unless they are super busy, you can walk in and they will trim your dogs nails in 5 minutes. Everyone's super friendly here and they have everything we need to keep our dog healthy. Sadie appreciates it! read more

**Once they have your money- Forget it** I will no longer be shopping at this store- I will go to Wal-Mart (Where they will except returns no questions asked) *I have been a customer of this store for many years- No Longer. -I bought my 5lb poodle a life jacket at the tune of $26.00 here, and I used it once and it ripped. I have had it for no longer than a week. Have my receipt and everything. I called the store (Spoke with the owner) and she said "Nope sorry cant return it" You will have to call the company. - Really? I have to call the company. She did excellent work clipping mats from my medium hair cat. My cat was not afraid of her. even though she really hates being taken in the carrier she trusted her to comb the mats include shaving the ones that were especially problematic as I requested. She was able to get the mats that were in hard-to-reach places without any discomfort to my cat she's very gentle. And my cat is very happy ever since. I also got a very good dog coat from Park Avenue pets. I have good quality winter coats that are warm and also the one I had was waterproof. I'd highly suggest them for dog coats, and pet grooming cats included. read more

Took my dog there last week for a bath. They're one of the few places in the area that offer a self-wash station for your dog. It was only $15 and they clean up the mess from bathing your dog. It was the easiest experience I've had bathing a husky that's scared of water! Extremely friendly and outgoing employee's, everything was clean, and they provide soap and shampoo. This place has been my go-to for walk-in services since I got my dog in 2014. They have always given me advice on how to take care of those things on my own at home, but I just feel that my dog is in better hands with professionals. Like the first reviewer said, my dog was cut a little on his foreskin and by his eye after the first time Austin shaved him. I didn't say anything since I didn't notice until later that evening, but since then nothing like that has happened. Maybe she got better equipment or has just improved skill-wise, either way I'm consistently pleased with the service. And there are soooo many clothing options!! read more

My cat has never been good with being groomed. In fact, she's always been a terror. My wife and I just relocated to Rochester and needed a new groomer. We took her to Park Ave Pets and were shocked by how much they actually cared for her. The groomer took her time and made sure she was not too stressed. I've never seen my cat so at ease. The entire staff was incredibly friendly and thoughtful and we appreciated that so much. Lastly, it was only. $40 for a grooming! I'll definitely be returning in the future. If you want the best advice about good pet care and the best products for reasonable pay you should go try Park Ave Pets. Lisa is always the one to talk to in my book. I have tried other stores and almost everyone seems clueless about what I'm asking for , but Lisa always tries her hardest to solve any problem I have. I never write reviews either, but my partner and I are so impressed with her, after today I knew that she deserves at least 5 stars! Best pet shop in rochester people. I would't go as far as walmart lady, but she's right. I'm sure the owner barely checked the clothing she sold to that woman and it was indeed damaged or stresses prior to her purchase. The owner is rude and refuses correct, courteous customer service (has to be her own boss here because anyone else would fire her in a heart beat). Their groomer Austin will not only cut your dog leaving them bleeding on the way home, but will lie to you and tell you its self-inflicted or some other terribly crafted lie. My vet and others experienced with hair clippers have supported my case. I plan to also bring this place to light in the better business bureau, a lot of stock is old, dusty, looks un rotated and I'm pretty sure that place is definitely not up to code. I paid $42 dollars and over a $10 tip for what? for someone to lie to me and shank my puppy? Ridiculous, unprofessional, greedy, rude, dishonest.... things that make people go to not so great corporate stores because they want to avoid this ill behavior.. I suggest supporting local places like petsworld and petsaver. Don't travel to monroe ave to get screwed over politely by this woman and save your pet. oh and to top off my terrible grooming experience, I bought EXPIRED food that same day (bet she didn't check that either which is CLEARLY her job). read more
