My Staffy Pit-Mix has been going there for hoarding for the past 7 years. They LOVE him. He doesn't play well with others so he gets lots of attentions, when he's not snoozing away in a room (no crates). I love that I can see him on the cameras. And best of all there is ALWAYS someone on site - 24/7. Mark, the owner, is also an expert trainer and taught us how to use only positive reinforcement to make out 95-pound snuggle Pit the very best family member. Would never board our boy anywhere else. read more

I asked for help several times. I did everything I was told. Unfortunately killed another of my dogs. I always recommended Mark. He never contacted me when I texted or messaged. I believe he is so fixated on dogs out of the country. I asked for help several times and did everything he said. At class he made my dog aggressive. She has a new home but my border Collie is dead. read more

We've been through two obedience classes with Mark and the team at Tuxedo's K9, and I can already say confidently that this is where we'll be taking our pup for all of her training, daycare, and boarding needs! Mark is SO passionate and loving towards every dog that comes into his business, and is readily available with an answer to any question we have. The facility is quite nice and all dogs are temperament tested prior to being admitted for boarding or daycare. For boarding, pups are ushered into suites as opposed to crates/cages, and attended to 24 hours a day. We have our first boarding scheduled for December and it is SO nice to know that our dog will be left in loving hands. Prices are about what I expected (a little bit higher than I thought for daycare) and I knew when adopting a dog that these new expenses would need to be incorporated into our budget. So far, we've found the return on investment to be there - as our Freddy girl is already responding better to our consistent prompts and training. YAY for pup love! read more

not my first review of Tuxedo's K9...but i will say again i will NOT leave our pups anywhere else. Mark and his staff are great! Caring, responsible and totally understanding of our dogs and their individual quirks and personalities. When i do board them i never worry about the care they are receiving which is priceless... read more

We have a springer doodle princess who has been enjoying Tuxedo K9s services since she was a puppy. Obedience classes, personal training, day-care and boarding have all been an excellent experience with Mark, the owner and caring staff. Payments and scheduling are easily made online, text, and calling. We enjoy the fact that daycare and boarding options are staffed 24/7 and cameras are available during the day to see what "Your baby" is up to. Mark is a believer in positive reinforcement and kindness with training and our dog loves him. He is generous with his time and listens to questions and concerns, which he takes seriously. We trust our child with Tuxedo K9 when we travel and no one else (including family). I highly recommend you check them out for your training, daycare, and boarding needs. read more

I have 100% confidence in the outstanding care and love Mark and his team show toward our 95 pound spoiled Staffy. Baxter gets all excited to see everyone as they do him when he comes to sleep over for a few days. He doesn't play well with other dogs so he gets his own walks several times a day, a room (not a kennel) to run around in, and play time with just him and one of the staff. Love Love Love it there. read more

Like many, we adopted a quarantine pup, and adore him. We also desperately needed help learning how to train him. Mark was excellent - had great (though sometimes scary) stories, and motivates owners during the one hour sessions each week. These take place at the Pet Supplies Plus, so we haven't yet seen the facility itself. I continue to be jealous at the ease with which he gets a pup to listen to him. Spanner is doing great and we are so much better equipped to train him moving forward. We will definitely keep working on the commands we've learned in the beginner's class and when he is consistently listening, be back for intermediate training! We also can't wait to learn more about the other offerings of the company. read more

Newest customer and must say I love Mark! Started working with him for one-on-one training for my fearful dog that growls and it is getting noticeably better. Still quite a ways to go but I can tell he knows what he's doing. He also has a calm and loving approach in his training which I like. My Lola boarded there for her first time ever (she's a puppy) and Mark throughout the weekend sent me photos to keep me up to date with her time in daycare - another thing I loved !!!! So glad we found this place! :) would recommend them to anyone ! read more

I have done everything here with my dog, Bruno. He's had beginner and intermediate training with Mark in class. Mark also helped me when I had behavioral questions. I also take Bruno there about once of month for day care too. I love it when they post photos so I can see how he is doing. They have webcams too, but I have not went on them yet. Day care always tuckers him out and when he's back home he runs and barks in his sleep so I know he had a great time. When I got married, I put Bruno there for boarding for three days and boy was Bruno tired when he got home so he must of had fun. Plus their online system to schedule daycare, boarding, and buy extra packages is easy to use. read more

We have boarded our dog numerous times here and highly recommend them. The dog has it's own sleeping area and gets out each day to play with the rest of the dogs. Plenty of socialization with other dogs and you can view them on the cameras if you wish. On one occasion they called us to say there was a problem with our dog as she had, as we later found out, a urinary tract infection. We were half across the country on a trip and were a bit frantic. They took the time to take her to the vet, have her checked out, pick up the medication and give it to her while there until we could return. I cannot say enough about this place. Our only regret is that we have relocated to another state and miss having the ability to again board her here. They also have someone on site, 24/7 which is an added good feeling, knowing someone is there. read more

If your dog is considered any type of an "aggressive" breed, or has any high level of energy, do not take them here. Our dog is very vocal around other dogs and because of that we were shunned and out in the corner with a make shift wall and the trainer never came over to us. read more

I love that Bella has been there since she was 2 months old. She is now going on 9 months. She loves it there. I was going through a tough time and Mark along with the lady that does training I forgot her name but she knows who she is was there for me and Bella. She came out to my house and did personnel training for my baby. I love it. Bella loves it. I work across the street and it's conveniently. Thanks a million. I recommend this place to anyone who needs daycare and training for their dog... read more

I have tried several Dog care companies since moving to Rochester a year ago. Here are the reasons why tuxedos is the best. 1. Capacity limits : they do not allow huge numbers of dogs at the facility. They limit it to a safe a reasonable number so that there is space for the dogs to interact. Their online booking is easy and let's you know right away if a spot is open. Be very wary of anywhere that does not require reservations. Dogs are left to roam in a packed, enclosed area 2. Staff: there is always someone supervising the dogs. Beyond that, the staff are friendly people who enjoy being with your dog. 3. Cleanliness: for a place that has dogs being dogs it doesn't smell. There's never debris or excrement on the floor. 4. Safety and culture: this is the only place you can take your dog and know he or she will be safe. I know Mark and his staff will take care of my pet and would never allow an aggressive animal to attend his facility. His temperate test is actually just that. As for culture, you walk in and feel welcomed in the facility 5. Small business owner: Mark is a local guy who is Providing an excellent service to the community. If you're going to invest money in your pets life you should do it here where the owner cares about your pet and the community read more

We have used Tuxedo's for boarding our dog a few times and cannot say enough on how much we liked it. Everyone is professional and really care fir the dogs. The boarding is clean and each dog has their own sleep area and get plenty of exercise daily with the other dogs. You can even see the areas on video cam from anywhere. Someone is there 24 by 7. On one occasion while we were traveling they called us to say our dog had a medical issue which was later found to be a UTI. They called us and we agreed for them to take her to the vet, later get the medication and give it to her Cannot tell you how much we appreciated the care and attention to our dog A fantastic place Thank you to all who work there read more

Mark is nothing short of amazing. We hired him to train our new puppy (Duke) and to help build a relationship with our other dog. He came to our house at times that were convenient for my husband and I. Our dogs absolutely loved him and the treats he bought. Everyone comments on Duke's listening skills and we owe it all to Mark and refer him to everyone we know. Whenever we go away, we leave Duke with Mark at his facility and I would not trust anyone else. I can call whenever I want to check on him, and Mark also sends me pictures! It's so much easier to enjoy vacation when you know your dog is in good hands! Thank you Mark and all the other employees at your facility! We are so grateful for your guidance and care! read more

Mark is an excellent instructor. We attended basic obedience classes with two of our dogs. We appreciate his use of force-feed training methods and highly recommend to anyone we know who is adding a dog to their family. read more

Dear Yelp, let me set the record strait. Tuxedo K9 is one of the nicest dog day care businesses in Rochester. Now let me say why: it is clean, the video they use lets me see my dog all day, they genuinely care about you, your dog, things like training, education, nutrition, and the overall health of the dog. Tuxedo K9 has been caring for my dog since early spring 2016. Before choosing them, I did extensive research online, thur recommendations, etc. One of the places we looked to was Yelp. At the time, this business had several reviews and 5 stars. You can imagine my surprise when I saw today that this business has 2 reviews and one single bad review...bring them to 3 stars! Shame on you Yelp! This business has 13 other reviews not being recognized some with comments as far back as 2012. for those who don't see those reviews, go to the "not currently recommend" section at the bottom of the page. Shame on Yelp for making it appear that this business has less reported feedback then actually provided. This is what makes people my age want to stop using Yelp. Why do you have to ruin a good thing? I'm a big user of Yelp but not a big reviewer. To see a great business get mis-represented makes me not want to use Yelp at all. To all other "real" dog owners, Tuxedo K9 us absolutely worth trying. They take great care of my dog and helped us and will continue to help us with training in the future. read more

With great luck we first ran into Mark on the 2nd day that we owned our Morkie puppy, "Peanut". We happened to be in Pet Saver getting supplies and Mark walked over to meet our new puppy. He ran to his car to get us some training sheets. We followed the sheet on house training religiously and Peanut was house trained in just under 3 weeks. I might add that even during that training period of taking her out every half hour she got the idea of taking care of her business outdoors. Then we had Mark over to our house for a private training session. It was abundantly obvious how much he loves dogs and how good a trainer he is. During that session we mentioned an upcoming trip for 10 days to Italy in the fall of 2020 that has us uneasy about leaving Peanut somewhere without us. He assured us that if we kennel Peanut with him that she will be just fine. That has really put us at ease. We highly recommend Mark without hesitation or any reservations. read more

This seemed like a solid program. I say seemed because just as we started the training my dog tore his MCLs and was unable to attend classes after the first one. We never went back after all the surgery. read more

Mark is a fantastic trainer! Friendly, informative and very knowledgeable. His positive reinforcement only methods have been very effective with my puppy. We just finished the basic obedience class and can't wait to start intermediate training!! read more

After trying other doggy daycares I will never go anywhere else besides Marks Tuxedo K-9. They took such care in evaluating my dogs and determining what sort of playgroup they needed. They never leave the dogs alone for a minute. And the facility is the cleanest I've ever seen. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. In addition, we took the obedience class from Mark and my dogs have finally become good citizens! read more

I am currently taking my second class with Mark. I took my puppy, Ellie, to his puppy socialization class when she was 3-4 months old and Mark was a wonderful help in dealing with general puppy problems. I recently enrolled her in intermediate class and am equally thrilled with this class. Mark is a very positive person with an amazing ability to calm and train any animal. He is always accessible for questions and concerns. I would and do enthusiastically recommend him to anyone looking for puppy/dog training classes. read more

We love the facility and the group of people at Tuxedo's K9 Training! My not so little guy Kylo did so well and learned so much from our class there! He especially loves to play and run around with all of his friends! He gets to be social in a controlled setting at camp every week and he has a blast - he always comes home super tired so Mom and Dad can get a day off too. His energy is boundless so we appreciate the break! They have a great boarding facility too which gives each pup their own space to relax when we're busy with functions or out so he's not cooped up at home alone, there's someone there with him at all times so he can have the attention he needs and I know he safe! He even gets his own room if he spends the night! It is a quiet and clean place that we love going to! They even bring him to the groomers for us for bath time next door when he needs it so he is all taken care of and ready for us to get him at the end of the day - so convenient! I cannot thank everyone at Tuxedo's enough (especially Mark) who have been super patient with our very independent, stubborn and very very energetic boy thank you all for everything that have done for us and thank you for treating my puppy as if he were your own! It makes me so happy that there are good people out there who will take the time to do what you all do! I would without a doubt recommend Tuxedo's K9 Training, Boarding and Daycamp to anyone they are truly amazing!! read more

Tuxedo's K9 Training Camp - Pet Training Near Me - Rochester, New York

We enjoyed the basic training class for our pup. Unfortunately, upon utilizing their doggy day care aspect of their business, we had a negative experience. Without notifying us, they clipped our anxious dog's nails (only the back paws) way too short. When we picked her up, they told us they cut her nails and there was a little blood. When we got her home it bled for two days, despite our attempts to contain it. We have to take her to the vet specifically, to get her nails done. We notified the owner, we did not receive an apology and it was turned onto us, for what seemed to be, not being grateful to them for taking it into their own hands. Also because we will not be coming back, we are basically punishing our dogs for no longer bringing them to socialize. A simple way to have alleviated this was a simple call to us, letting us know they were going to cut them. I am absolutely not chastising the owner for backing his employee but, two things can exist, that they support their staff but also, I'm sorry that you had a negative experience, how can we fix that.... read more

My dog Rosco goes to Mark about two times a week and when we first got our very, very high energy dog we knew we need doggy daycare so after thorough research we found Tuxedo K9 through Yelp and I can't believe that all his reviews are gone. That was why I chose Tuxedo and have been really happy on how clean the facility is and how professional the staff is. My dog comes home clean and happy.... This is the best and I strongly recommend Mark for all your dog's needs if it is daycare, boarding or training. I am so lucky to have found Tuxedo K9. Thank you to Mark and all his staff for all the great work they do. Keep up the great work. read more

Mark - and Rich Allen, the dog behavior specialist who works at Tuxedo - are knowledgable, kind, and caring guys who are not just great with dogs. They both are great with people too. I cannot say enough about how wonderful the day care service at Tuxedo's is. Mark and his staff at Tuxedo K9 are absolutely amazing! I have two pups who are my heart and my husband and I both have long commutes so leaving them every day made me feel awful. We now take them to daycare two to three times a week and just knowing they are getting the same kind of love and attention we would give them at home, but also tons of playtime with their doggie friends, has been such a relief! Also love that with the webcams I can peek in on them and see them enjoying their day! I would not trust anyone but Mark and Tuxedo K9 with my girls! read more
