This is a great PetSmart. The animals are active and healthy. They have lots of toys for stimulation and the habitats are very clean. The associates are friendly and helpful. The groomers are competent and compassionate. If you are looking for a small mammal or fish, this is the PetSmart to go to! read more

Ariel is a awesome groomer! Snow just loves her and is even protective of her if someone dares to interrupt her being groomed by Ariel....Sooo Cute! Ariel always does excellent job and we won't let anyone else be Snow's groomer. read more

Came into this location a couple days ago interested in adopting a kitten. A guy in the back asked if i wanted to see them so i went back there. First off, it smells like feces everywhere (i get it if there are a bunch of cats it will smell) BUT i noticed one of the kitties had thrown up on themselves and all the guy did was wipe it off of its fur with a dry towel. It was awful to even watch. We ended up coming back to purchase a little kitten AND THAT NIGHT THE KITTY WAS CONGESTED AND WE LATER FOUND OUT HE HAD AN UPPER RESPIRATORY INFECTION!!! DO NOT ADOPT KITTIES FROM THIS LOCATION!!! They're all sick and super skinny :( read more

A guy actually thanked us for coming in, and genuinely!! Very different than what your used te at big box stores. I was pleasantly surprised :-) read more

Picked up some goodies here for my moms dog. Employees here were friendly. We loved to see the other dogs shopping with their people :)

Didn't remember the size of my tank and when trying to get a couple more of the same fish that I already have, Shawn would not sell them to me, even after confirming I have a tank the size would be the right fit. Very rude and was pulling random guesses to the size I was trying to describe and wouldn't let me buy fish that I already own. Way to go Shawn! Lost a customer. read more

The groomer I have if fantastic! Ash is the only one I trust with my Maltese. The groom is perfect every time. I only gave them a 4 because the grooming area is really a small room for customers to get in and out. Elbow room only. Kind of sad, I'm used to going to another store closer to my house and there was so much more room. I will continue to drive further just so that I can have Ash take care of my girl! read more

The staff here on Bell Road is amazing! We have always come here for cat food and litter and have been pleased with the staff and the store cleanliness etc... Recently we added a new member to the household... a puppy! We were buying him some food and toys and such and had some questions from one of the guys stocking shelves. He immediately stopped what he was doing and took us to where we needed to be to find the kennels. The cashier recommended a Kong bed for its durability... and as we were checking out they offered us a puppy package that included coupons for the bed...the food and the toys! Lots of smiles and always a good experience :) read more

I have 2 parakeets, the staff was very knowledgable and directed me to a great trainer and had great info on parakeets. Even the good and the bad. Plus with your Petperks card you get great discounts it makes the prices very reasonable. And they always have the items I need I stock. read more

Called in the morning and was able to get my dog a grooming appointment the same day. They did an excellent job!

My husband and I went back to PetSmart to return the dog food we had purchased, because our husky puppy wasn't eating it. I was impressed with the warm and friendly service that we received by the employees. We even met a professional husky trainer named Heather who gave us some great advice on the breed. She didn't try and up-sale us on anything, which was really refreshing! Our puppy is doing great and loves his food! read more

I bring my dog to this Petsmart Grooming location only, because Lizz (Elizabeth) is amazing with animals as well as customers. She really connects with the dogs, and it seems so natural and not faked. Everytime I have seen her working, I have been very impressed by her customer service and her treatment of animals. She is always willing to help me with any questions and is very knowledgeable with the services available and can recommend the perfect service for your animal. I highly recommend requesting her if you bring your dogs in. My dogs come back to me very happy when she is working with them, when normally grooming was a stressful ordeal. She has a great quality of work, and she really does love the pets in her care. read more

We have our two dogs on the Banfield Health Insurance at a cost of $89.39 per month (1,072.68 per year). This is for twice a year teeth cleaning and once per year for a comprehensive exam and shots. Why is it that EVERY time over the past couple of years when we come in to the 75th Ave/Bell Rd location they try to milk us for at least $200 more? NO MORE! I gave one star because I couldn't post with zero stars! read more

My wife brought my dog in and we worked with Amy. She was very rude to start and that made my wife very uneasy. Amy apparently only became more rude as the conversation went on and she ended up taking our dog elsewhere. We had never had these issues before with the other girls in the salon which is the only reason this review is getting 2 stars instead of one. We will most likely return but me and my wife both refuse to ever work with her again. read more

This is a terrible Petsmart. The groomers are terrible. My dog had gone there for 5 years for toenail trims. I noticed her back foot looked red. I examined it to find one of her little toes had not been trimmed in so long that it had curled up and grown into her foot. They obviously had not been trimming her toenail on her visits. They left it and didn't even mention it. It was $120 to get her toenail fixed at the vet. The manager said they would pay the vet bill and when I arrived for the visit, the vet told me Petsmart was not covering it. No explanation and no notice. I had already decided to take the dogs elsewhere due to poor service in the salon before this incident. read more

Our big boys get groomed here. We really worry about taking then for grooming with the stories out there, but the staff is really nice. Always remember us an my dogs names. It's stressful for dogs to go in, but my boys seem not to stressed afterward. They are big Shepherds 90 and 100 pound long hair . They are just beautiful when we pick them up. Love the little note they give on how they did each time. So far so good, I trust them, and prices are fair. read more

This location always has slow employees without a clue. Takes forever to pay at the register.

Terrible grooming experience both times, I'm never coming back. My little yorkie's dew claws weren't trimmed, her head is buzzed while the rest of her body remained long. But most importantly (to me at least) was that the staff wasn't compassionate towards her at all which made me nervous to leave her with the grumpy groomer. My little girl is my world and I know she's apprehensive so a little cooing and not cringing at her kisses would make a huge difference when I hand her over. I'm so angry I wasted money here. read more

Today I took my fifteen month old shepherd lab mix to this location for a training seminar called "Loose leash Walking," I was the only one to sign up for this. I thought I was very lucky upon hearing that because myself and my dog would receive excellent customer care as a result. I was so sadly wrong. The trainer who was aloof at best, spent most of our time trying to sell me a harness she recommends that petsmart so happen to carry. I guess she did not notice my dog was wearing a nearly identical one at the time, she also spent time trying to sell me some treats. She taught my dog nothing he didn't already know, and just when I couldn't be discouraged enough she had me walk down the isles of the store with him so that she could observe and when I turned the corner to look at her, she was no where in sight. My dog and I were her only priority yet for some reason gossiping with her coworkers two isles over with her back to us seem to be much more important. The seminar was supposed to last 1 hour, she ended it in 35 minutes, by saying "if there's more people it would typically last longer." She also spent some time trying to get me to enroll in her intermediate class. I declined. read more

I have been going to this Petsmart grooming for years and usually have no issues at all. After tonight, I would not recommend going to the grooming on a Friday evening, even for a five minute nail trim. I had a 12noon apt for both my dogs. for whatever reason they did one dog at 12noon and the other is still not ready at 4:15pm. When I called to find out what was going on with my dogs they told me one groomer was overbooked and one was not. Now logic tells me that the groomer that was not over booked would take my other dog so both dogs were done at the same time. This is the last time I use PetSmart grooming. My poor one dog has been ready for 2 hours waiting in a cage for the other dog to be finished. Very poor management of the grooming department. They need to learn how to schedule two dogs at the same time so they are finished at the same time. read more

Went in today to get a nail grind for my dog. The girl with curly red hair and glasses didn't catch her name. But all she did was argue with me about anything I said. Instead of telling me what I don't know you should just solve the problem. Waited for a manager that never came so I went looking. I found a manager and they took my dog back and got it right. I'm a salon manager myself and instead of your groomers arguing with your guests tell them to just get the job done. read more

the store as whole a++++++++ the pet/dog training department d+++++++++ the trainer(they only have one) trisha, while knowledgeable and well meaning, is extremely militant in here methods. her classes consistent of approximately 6-8 dogs and their families. all breeds, all ages, from all different backgrounds, etc.... she teaches from a book. teaches each pet and each pet parent the exact same trick the exact same way. like regular school. totally normal. if they all learned, behaved and responded to stimuli the same way. she doesn't take the time to get to know the individual people and their pets and what their specific needs might be . she is strictly by the book! you are even given a copy of the book, homework assignments and of course,... the incredible amount of anger and frustration that comes along with paying for a trainer, then finding out if your dog has special needs; you're on your own! !!!!!! the bought and paid for trainer will not help you! enjoy the 6 week class of watching "normal" dogs sit, stay, fetch and so on. i think that class is a joke! just watch youtube for free teaching tips and go to the doggie park for socializing. read more

I took my two year old Aussie to "training" classes at this Petsmart. There was a pit bull, my aussie and a poor little dog who shook the entire time. The Pits owner was unable to hold her lead and, after I had to move in the class twice, got bitten and decided I had enough, I removed my dog from the class. The trainer was awful, unable to keep my dog or any of the other dogs safe. The trainer wanted me to move to another class so the Pit didnt have to be controlled. I spoke with Chris the manager who refunded me my money but it was a crap show. People work here who do not know how to manage agressive dogs and stupid owners. Don't do it. read more

We signed up for two dog training classes(12 weeks total). Our instructor, on day one instructed us to buy a certain leash and harness. The leash is great. The harness was used only 3 classes, make that two classes because we didn't put it on her the first day. During an outside PetSmart activity, up north the harness broke into a two places. We had to then go chasing the dog in the dark and snow. We examined the leash and it was a malfunction and broke in 2 places. During our 4-day stay, my husband's frustration got the better of him and he threw it away. Unfortunately, reading store reviews and online reviews show that that is a problem with this harness. I went into the store today to explain my issue. I know it's a lot to ask but spending $260 there and three weeks I felt like I'm a good customer. I told him to check my pet perks for card too. The manager told me there was nothing he could do without the leash and that dumpster divers like to try to return things that are thrown away. I would have understood if he would have left it that he couldn't help me, world be disappointed but I thought it was extremely rude that he went and referenced me and a dumpster diver . I'm not sure but I'm going to reach out to PetSmart to see if I can possibly cancel my classes. Or be transferred to another store. I don't know if I want my family and dog and this environment. Very sad. read more

They don't accept vaccination papers from Mexico is what they told me over the phone. So now we shop at Petco. read more

DO NOT USE Petsmart Online service with store pick up. Out of the past 3 times I ordered with store pickup - twice my order was canceled - because although there was inventory at the store to fill my order - things changed. The last time I ordered one bag of dog food - used a gift card. received order confirmation - then I tossed the gift card (since it was used up. The next day I got an email that the order was canceled. I had to dig the card out of the trash can after I found out that the money would be put back on the gift card although it could take up to a week. Luckily I got the card (bend and dirty) otherwise I would have been out the $ 25. read more

Great place to go shopping for the little furry members of the family. Nice that you can take them with you. Employees are very friendly and they have a wide variety of items to chose from. Really this is not about this store....It's about online orders and pickup in store....Be careful...I ordered some canned food and a bag of dry food...they did not have the canned food in the store but my card was charged for the full amount of the purchase for the canned food and dry.food...so I was told I would not be charged for what I did not pick up...Wrong!!!! I was charged for the full amount...### It's Christmas (not at PetSmart )...anyway..so I am going to short the amount they are holding..(I am glad it was not a huge amount!!)..and will have to wait and watch my statements/account until the actual amount is charged. Sorry for the Book Guys....so I ordered the dog food from Amazon.com and its actually cheaper...than PetSmart...and I will have it in 2 days...so thank you Amazon I will be ordering the pooch's food from you for now on...less stress and its to my door.....No gas to the store..either. When you visit this store, be sure to check out the outside of the store, especially just around the West facing corner. Hundreds of new and old cigarette butts thrown in the landscaping by employees . Apparently, this is their trash can and it looks like nobody has bothered to clean it for months. Same dried up piles of dog poop every time I walk my dog by it. Nice, huh. Also note the empty dispensers for dog poop bags. I have been there many times and seen this almost every time I go. Mention this to the so-called "manager" (what a JOKE), and you get a clueless and speechless moron who treats you like a nuisance when you point this out to him. I've done this twice and so far, nothing has happened. They must be so important that they can't walk out the door twenty feet and put a roll of bags in the dispenser. Or even ask an employee to do it. Oh no. Can't be bothered. The manager attitude was really bad. This tells me all I want to know about this store. Done and over. Go somewhere else. read more

Me and my rescue dog took the beginning training class, which is 6 classes for $119. Because part of the building was undergoing renovation, the class was held in one of the aisles of the store. We were assured that we would have a distraction free room for the remainder of the course. This did not happen until the 5th session. You can try but you probably can't imagine the distractions in the aisle of a petsmart on a Sunday afternoon. Also, my dog was the smallest dog in the class and this particular trainer appeared to favor/show more interest in the larger dogs. For example, I made it clear that my most important issue was recall for the dog. When we got to that part of the training, the trainer remembered and said I want to work with you on this because you said it was the most important thing you wanted from the class. She was at one end of the aisle and me and my dog at the other end on a 20 foot leash. We practiced the recall twice before the trainer got distracted with someone she knew. She stood there and socialized with her friends and that was the end of the lesson for my dog. I was completely dissatisfied because the facilities were not adequate for dog training with all the distractions, the trainer seeming to favor large dogs and therefore did not give everyone in the class equal attention, and the trainer's tendency to send us walking around the store with our dogs and she disappeared. My dog and I learned virtually nothing. A waste of time and money. I personally recommend searching the internet for issues you need help with. That is where I have been able to get the help I need for my dog. And it's free. read more

Today after a lengthy discussion with this Petsmart manager Gauge, I have decided to go forward and write about my grooming / nail trim experience. To begin, I have frequented Petsmart for many years, utilizing the grooming, daycare, purchases in the store and their vet service through Banfield. Up until a month ago I raved about how wonderful this store was. About a month ago, this store had management changes. This is just the beginning of a horrific event. I have two dogs who frequent this store a few times a week. Some employees at the store have said that "my girls" are the unofficial store mascots. I have also received many compliments about how well behaved and calm they are. One dog is 10 and the other 12 1/2 years old. They are both in excellent health, with the exception of the older having arthritis in her lower back. I have had their nails trimmed on a monthly basis and up until last month, I have never had an issue. I always inform the groomer that the older dog needs extra support under tummy when trimming her hind nails, and the groomer has always done an excellent job. I had no complaints until last month. On this day, I brought both girls in early on a Sunday morning. A groomer named "Kayla" took my older dog back to dremel her nails. I walked through the store with my other dog and I was approximately in the middle of the store when I heard my older dog yelping many times as if she were in pain. I immediately returned and asked to see my dog. Kayla returned my dog to me and stated that my dog was "nasty, mean and out of control". My dog was barely able to stand Her entire hind quarters were shaking. I immediately walked over to the cash register, showed the employee who was there her condition and asked to see a manager. The employee at the register stated he had also heard her yelping, and wondered what had been done to her. This employee knows my dog very well, and was surprised to hear the words this groomer used to describe my dog's behavior. The assistant manager took down my information, apologized and then stated that I would be hearing from the store manager. Two days passed, and then I contacted the store and left a message for him to call. No response. After two more days I then contacted corporate office. A few days later, I was then contacted by the grooming salon manager. I met with her and she basically said this is an excellent groomer and apologized. I finally did hear from the store manager two weeks after the event In the meantime, right after the event, I took my dog to be seen by a vet. She was diagnosed with a sprained hip and was placed on pain medication I am happy to say that after 4 weeks and many vet visit (over $200 in vet bills) my dog has begun to recover. I am very lucky to have had this outcome. What I learned from this experience is that groomers are not licensed or regulated in the state of Arizona. I have also learned that Petsmart does not value their customers, nor do they care about the safety of their pets. I also learned after speaking with the vet staff at Banfield, they have treated many dogs that have been injured by this grooming facility. Because of this experience, I will be moving all of my business to a local vet, not a huge corporation, and I will be utilizing a small pet store by my home to make further purchases. read more

A couple days ago, I contacted this Petsmart location for a grooming appointment for my dog, a shih tzu. When I picked him up from the Petsmart groomers, he seemed lacking in energy and extremely tired. However, it was when i reached home that I noticed my dog was shutting his right eye abnormally, AND had a high fever. Extremely worried about my dog's health, I quickly took him to our veterinarian. Our veterinarian discovered that our dog was scratched in the eye by the Petsmart groomer, and this resulted in high fever as well. The gross negligence by these Petsmart groomers is horrifying. NEVER leave your beloved pets to be groomed here. The groomers have no sense of gentleness or care while dealing with our pets, and are extremely rude and unprofessional. I am disappointed in these groomers, and also that a simple grooming session has turned into endless trips to the vets office, with an injured, confused, and helpless puppy. Do your pets a favor, and don't take the risk with these groomers. You will leave unhappy and unsatisfied. read more

No one greeted me when I walked in. I was looking for 3 items, I wandered up and down every isle 3 times. Couldn't find what I was looking for. And still not one employee asked if I needed help. My dog peed on the floor, as an employee passed by, I informed him of situation & he refers me to the green station. I cleaned up my dogs mess and have no problem doing so. I notice another customer's puppy going to the bathroom and let her know. I also tell her where the green station is. When I walked by again, there are 2 employees cleaning up the pee. I go to the dog tag machine but cannot see what kind Of tags or prices. I leave and still no one said anything to me. The only other person that talked to me was another customer. I prefer pet smart to pet Co but maybe not in this area. I guess Amazon it is and if business want to know how to save brick and mortar, try offering decent customer service . First time in this store and last time. I use to shop at pet smart in the state I use to live in. pratt's pets is better than this as far as customer service. read more
