One lone cashier, who has to deal with a long line because managers love to hide in the back of store instead of managing the front end. So 3 times, I come to this store and theres a price discrepancy at the register. Price is always higher than what the shelf price is. Instead of calling on the PA and asking for a price check , cashier asked me to go back and take a picture of the price tag. ($4) difference. So I went. I took a pic. Then cashier said i can't see the numbers . I need u to go back. At this point I said, please call a manager because i took a picture like you asked. I took my almost 4 month old beautiful fluffy all over shorkie here this past Sunday morning to get ONLY a face trim to remove hair out of his eyes. I specifically asked and stressed to the groomer (Megan) not to trim any other place other than around his eyes as this is his first trim and I don't want anything drastic and I want him to remain fluffy and full. Of course she assured me that she would only trim hair off eyes. I pick up my beautiful puppy 2 hours later and he looks absolutely nothing like the puppy I dropped off. All of his hair around his nose and mouth are gone, the hair on his head and around his eyes is totally different and all you see it this pointed long raccoon type nose with a full body of fluffy hair everywhere else except his face and head. It is awful. I asked her why did she do this and she swears she cut nothing off his nose area, mouth or head. She claimed the blow dryer causes him to just look this way. I called the mgr the next morning and she was absolutely no help at all when I told her I want to bring him back to get his body hair cut down just a little to try and blend in with his face and head she suggested I just give it time to grow back and expressed her apologies. Would you drink this water? You are responsible for the care of these little creatures, they depend on you. Seeing the way your store treats these little animals is heartbreaking. Once, I didn't wash a water bottle for 3 weeks and it never turned that green. How many months has this bottle gone without a scrub down? It's not that hard, you have the proper brushes in your store. It takes me 1 minute to properly wash a bottle. If you are going to be selling living beings in your store, you need to ensure that they are taken care of. I tried calling but I was on hold for an ungodly amount of time. Do better. read more

For a store specializing in pets, fish, birds, etc. is bad. I went to get some fish for my aquarium and they sold me a Kissing Gourami that was full of Ick.. It was too late bc I put him in my tank, and lost an awful lot of fish in my aquarium, as well as my poor sick gourami. I felt so bad for that fish, and got angry when my other fish lost their life. I called them, and they blamed it on their water changing system breaking down, and it really is a very bad excuse. If that were the case, they should stop selling their fish, until they get the problem fixed. Also, I thought they could have a backup system, but it isn't the case. I have been going that location for two years and i was fairly satisfied. There is a lot of room for improvement. My favorite groomer is no longer there. Today was the final straw. i took my dog in for a bath... her tear stains didn't get cleaned up and her anal behind didn't get cleaned up. The bath is always included those two areas as done in the last few times. The quality went down considerably. The birds never have enough perches and are forced to stand on the floor. There is no where for them to comfortably speak. Petsmart in Germantown Groomers: Alyssa and Megan I had a terrible experience with the groomers. My dogs appointment was 9:00 . I called to check the status at 1:45 they had only been washed and not even brushed or cut. They had been in a crate after being shampooed 9:00 a.m. I was told my dogs didn't like the dyer and was scared of the loud noise so they were in crates air drying. When I questioned this story because this is unlike them (they have been groomed many times before at a more professional place) they quickly changed their story and said they didn't even try the dryers because one of my dogs was very old and had trouble sitting down while getting washed. She just turned 8 years old and is perfectly good health. This has never happened in the past. I believe they were overbooked and just throwing dogs in crates to air dry so they can move on to the next dog. I was also told one dog was completely done so when I told them I was coming for that one dog they changed their story again and said she actually wasn't done at all. They had many excuses and the worst customer service. The manager didn't care and never apologized for the treatment of my dogs or staff lying to me about the care of my dogs. My dog has a grooming appointment at 2:30 today. I confirmed the appointment yesterday by calling 888-389-7387 number. Then I got a voice mail and a text message from PetSmart confirming the appointment as well. 12:45 PM today I received a call from PetSmart to confirm the that I could get my dog groomed today, but it would at the Germantown location for a regular cut. I said that was fine. Then I was told that the person was not trained for the cut even though the person was fulled booked for three weeks. Then she asked me to hold the phone. She canceled the appointment by sending a text to me while I was holding the phone. What a store. read more

I took my 6 mos. old Havanese for her first professional groom. Her hair was long and silky, I brush her regularly, despite that she did have knots behind her ears and at the top of her front legs. I gave the groomer specific instructions to do a sani cut and cut her hair down half and 2 inches. Despite my specific instructions, they basically did what they wanted and shaved my puppy down to 1/4 inch, easier than cutting and brushing to dry her. I also paid for coconut shampoo and conditioner and spritz. My puppy has white residue on her is itchy and doesn't smell like she just got groomed. Wish I could give "0" stars because they gave "0" f@#%$ about my dog or my request! I'll never use them for grooming again. If you have a small dog with potential trachea issues, do not book an appointment here. Small poodle people, look elsewhere. They will not take your dog for grooming. I have two poodles, a standard poodle and then a miniature with trachea issues as with all small poodles. I made appointments for both dogs, first online and then on the phone. When I showed up, they refused to take my small poodle so I left without having either groomed. They did take this same poodle last year for grooming. I am from out of town. Do not bring your dogs here. Evidently they are not competent. They would not even bathe my dogs. Maybe a call from them would have been in order. Or since I booked the appointment with someone in the grooming salon on the phone after I tried to book online and had already written about the trachea issues, maybe they could have spoken with me about that then... or given a warning or policy info. Or they could have checked their bookings and called to cancel so I wouldn't have shown up. How inconsiderate!! So many better ways to handle this besides letting a client wait for days for an appointment and then refusing service once the client has arrived. A friend said PetSmart is protecting itself because Its groomers have had dogs die under their care or right after. 47 I read in one article. I will never go to any Petsmart again. Poorly run business. I just noticed that Petco Corporate responds to reviews on Yelp while I see no responses from Petsmart. That says something about this business. read more

I come here because it's convenient; I never have any issues buying food, treats, toys etc. However the grooming has annoyed me the last several times I've come in - I pay for a Pawdicure for my dog every time we come in, which I understand includes a trim & pad shaving, a bandana/bow, ear cleaning and cologne spritz. Only the first visit did I receive every service offered in the description - since then with each visit, we have not gotten a bandana, the cologne spritz, nor do they trim/shave the fur around his pads. Worst experience I've ever had with my dog ever -- they strangled him! I have a 1 year old lab puppy. My husband and I were in a pinch and needed our dog's nails clipped before going to visit family for Christmas. We walked in without an appointment and were seen right away. I made sure to tell the person clipping his nails that he was terrified of all the loud noises. My husband and I stayed in the room in hopes of making our puppy less nervous. The technician put a collar around his neck then completely turned her back to him to gather her supplies. Our terrified puppy began backing off the table way from the technician. He fell off the table with the rope around his neck. He hung there screaming, crying, and scratching for 10-15 seconds before the technician pulled him back onto the table. THEY STRANGLED MY DOG!My husband and I were on the other side of a half wall unable to reach him while he writhed in pain. We were completely in shock. The technician quickly clipped his nails, muttered and apology, and handed us a bill. I sobbed the entire car ride home. Once I composed myself I called the manager to complain. She offered a half-assed "sorry". The sight of my puppy being hanged and screaming in pain haunts me. My experience here was so horrific that I will never return to this establishment for any reason; grooming, retail, etc. read more

The grooming place is horrible. I was skeptical to take my dog there because every time I come to this pet smart, the groomers are outside smoking, and talking loudly while cursing. She went in only for a nail grind. When the groomer put the leesh around my dog neck she placed her on the floor and tried to get her to walk thru the little door to the grooming area. My dog gets scared sometimes so she was showing resitance and pulling back, which resulted in her getting chocked right in front of us! LOOK... we ALL know how these big chain businesses are. Nothing fancy, nothing THAT special, some of the employees ARE helpful but some just doesn't care, blah blah blah. It's like ANY OTHER PETSMART. Dog section there, cat section there, fish section there... etc. I'm bitter. I'm still bitter about how they treated my dog at their grooming section. And that's why they get 1 STAR from me. I have always given people the benefit of a doubt. Even if my dog got a cut after being groomed, I think to myself, "okay, mistakes happen. My dog seems okay, not a big cut, okay... moving on". BUT IT IS UNACCEPTABLE WHEN AN EMPLOYEE DRAGS YOUR POOR LITTLE SCARED DOG ACROSS THE DIRTY FLOORS OF OTHER DOG'S HAIRS WHEN YOU COME TO PICK THEM UP. My dog weighs 10lbs, I'm sure a GUY can simply LIFT MY DOG UP and carry my dog like, 5 steps to give him to me. You don't need to drag my dog across the floor. Who does that? I love my dad. He spoils me rotten (then again, so does my mom...but she "seasons" her spoiling with big doses of guilt). We were at Brookstone and saw those little frogs in a "frogosphere". I jokingly said that I totally wanted one...and two days later, my dad calls me to tell me to come over to pick up my frogs. Heh. I wonder if this will work if I tell my dad I want my own tropical island? Just a thought. I love my little froggies, however, the "frogosphere" that it came in seemed incredibly small for such two active frogs. The "frogosphere" was basically a 4"x5" little clear plastic box. They seemed to always be bumping into the walls, and well - that's just no way for a frog to live, right? So I came up to the Petsmart in Germantown to buy a new little glass bowl for them. You know the kind. The classic ubiquitous glass goldfish bowl. Or maybe not as ubiquitous as I thought... I arrived at Petsmart and looked in the fish section and the only aquariums or bowls that were available where massive 20 gallon ones. Hrmph. After much loud "HELLO OUT THERE!" I finally got the attention of a sales person, and ask for his help in finding a simple, classic glass bowl...and was told that they were all out. Could he look in the back to see if there are any more? Nope. Did he have anything similar anywhere? Nope. Could he be any less helpful? Doubt it. *sigh*. Fine. We moved on to getting a pet snail for my frogs (they ate the one that came with the "frogosphere") and actually found a very nice lady, who helped us get two snails, gave us some tips on keeping our little froggies happy and healthy...and kindly explained that they were re-doing their aquarium stock, so a lot of key items may be out. Ah. Was that so hard for the first guy to tell us? I would have been way more understanding if he just said that, instead of "nope" to every question I asked. She saved this from being a sad 1 star review. YAY basic customer service! So we walked out of there with two new snails (which the frogs, again, promptly ate), but sans glass bowl. Fortunately, there is a Michael's in the same shopping center...where I was able to get my glass bowl. Not sure if the froggies are any happier, but they definitely have more room in which to swim. read more

Instead of giving me cash or putting money on my card, they gave me in-store credit which they realized after was a mistake and they should have fully refunded me. And everyone makes mistakes but the supervisor at that time said they couldn't refund me because they had already put money on their merchandise card...even though it was their mistake. They weren't really being helpful so I came back the next day and the manager David and other cashiers were super helpful and accommodating!! Grooming - after seeing a woman smack a dog on the nose during grooming, to prevent him from moving i wanted to turn back the time and never come here in the first place, but after getting my dog back everything got even worse. She started pooping blood the day i got her back. I called them to see what exactly happen to her, they told me it was nerves! I had to take her to the emergency room to have looked at and they did NOT cover the cost. Veterinary clinic - my parent's dog was misdiagnosed by one of their "vets" who said "she's too furry i can't see anything wrong with her". The dog suffered for 2 months after which they went to see another doctor who was able to see the problem within the first 10 minutes of being there! NEVER AGAIN! AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!
