Have read all the reviews here and decided I needed to set the record straight! Have been to other groomers in Williamson County, and my dog's groomer, Margaret, continues to exceed all expectations! She is an amazing Groomer and truly cares about the dogs she works with. She has been grooming my 87 lb golden retriever for the past four years. We are a therapy team and go into nursing homes, elementary schools and libraries on a weekly basis. My dog is an emotional support animal, and goes to work with me each day. So it is vital that he look his best on a regular basis! He has terrible allergies, and Margaret does a great job with his special needs. He always looks his best each time he leaves the grooming salon! And the hours are great for working people like me. My only recommendation? CLONE MARGARET! read more

I will NOT be shopping at ANY petsmart, any longer. I sent an email complaint on March 5th, was told I would hear back in 2 days, and nothing. 3 weeks later, still no response. I was driving to the Round Rock location, despite living in Georgetown, because the customer service and (cough cough) "management" at Georgetown just plain sucks. However, after not hearing from ANYONE at petsmart corporate, I don't feel they deserve my customer support. If they can't take the time to follow up with someone, on a legitimate complaint, then I can no longer provide them with my money. Shameful, when you think of it. We've used their grooming services, dog training, bought a reptile with all accessories and numerous pounds of animal food. However, PetSmart has thrown all that away with their lack of respect for customer service. Note: It gets 1 star, because it makes you select at least 1. I was dropping off my two shelties to get groomed at the petsmart at Georgetown. When the groomer told me that she would have to shave one of my dogs tail, shave both of their rear end and shave most if their chest. I looked at her, you gotta be kidding. You never shave a sheltie. I said. She then told me that their hair was matted. Their hair was not matted. I've had shelties for over 40 years. I know when a dogs fur is matted. But to shave a dogs tail and leave it completely pink because its too much work is just lazy. One of my dogs had just been there 4 weeks ago and was bathed and groomed properly. The same dog she wanted to shave the tail. if you know anything about shelties their fur does not grow the same once you shave it. Especially if you routinely brush them. She refused to take them because it was going to be too much work. So if you have a dog with fur, I'd think twice about taking them to petsmart. read more

Walked in today to buy a Halloween costume for my dog and the entire store reeked of the most disgusting dirty smell and it was filthy too. My husband thought it was urine I think it was dirty cages or worse. We had to leave immediately, couldn't believe some people could even wait in line to make a purchase. We just moved to the area and chose Petsmart since they were in the neighborhood. We made an appointment and the day of the appointment we received a call saying due to COVID-19 the company was postponing grooming services. However, since we were being canceled we would be called to be the first on the list. About two months later we were in the store and noticed they were accepting appointments. I called to ask about an appointment and was told they did not have anything for 2 months. I reminded them of the cancellation and they said "they tried calling but did not reach me". I responded "I have not received any voicemails or missed calls from Petsmart." The young lady said if they found something sooner they would call me but went ahead and booked me for, Tues. June 2d appointment. On Thursday May 28th I received a call around 230pm stating that my 1:30pm appointment was cancelled since I missed it. I explained that was interesting since my appointment is June 2d. I reminded her about what happened to us and that it has been almost 3 months and our dog still has not been groomed. She stated I could speak to the manager and I said please. And I asked if they showed my appointment on Tues,June 2d and the young lady decided to rudely hang up the phone on me-without provocation or warning. I called back and spoke to a manager who said she would have the "Grooming Manager" call me tomorrow. On Tues. after no calls from Petsmart I called again to ask for a manager. After explaining the situation she stated that the Grooming manager/or Store manager would call me tomorrow since she was off. On Fri. June 5th, still no call so I called again. This time the female speaking said she was a manager and asked which manager did I spoke to. My response is "I'm not sure how many managers you have but I have spoken to two different females who claimed to be managers, and she makes the third." I explained that I was extremely offended by the young lady who called me on my birthday to tell me that my dog had an appointment even though no called to tell me they fit me in. Because I would have never agreed on the date since it was during my travel birthday celebration and I was not in town. But more importantly is it their policy to "hang up on customers who are not rude or offensive and management does not apologize or offer any solutions." She stated she would have the "Grooming Manager/Store manager" call me back on Monday, June8th because they don't have any new appointments in the next 4weeks and " AND "according to my file that was the only appointment they would grant me. Then I asked her to explain what was in my file that gives anyone the right to hang up on a customer that has treated their employees with the utmost respect and that would warrant someone hanging up on me and not calling me back. What is in my file? Am I being treated badly due to being African American and asking them to treat me with respect. So needless to say I have lost all respect and faith in the company that I have taken our beautiful Airedale Terrier. The fact that my business is not valued is extremely hurtful. Then I wake up to a public note from Petsmart president to all customers saying they respect the lives of all people. Well President J.K. Symancyk it appears that ALL lives do not matter. And I implore every African American and Person of color to protest this PETSMART store in Georgetown, Texas. THE STAFF DO NOT VALUE Black pet owners and condone negative and nasty behavior. Another disappointed and former customer!! For 2 years we have been using Petsmart groomers at other Petsmart locations in Houston and Austin areas. But today, when we arrived for our grooming appointment at the Georgetown store, we waited almost 10 minutes to get in to the grooming shop, and then after waiting 10 minutes, was told that we were late for our appointment and would have to leave and rebook. The rude, unprofessional treatment we received was not what I expected nor ever experienced at other Petsmart locations. Petsmart's business code says it wants to BE A TRUSTED PARTNER. Apparently, being a trusted partner means to be treated rudely and with arrogance from the grooming staff. Speaking with the manager was useless and a waste of time, as he didn't seem interested in the problem. Went in with my dog last night to get her nails trimmed. I got there around 8:20pm and it closes at 9pm according to the Internet and the signs posted at the store. I went back and no one was there so I went to the front cashier - she was nice which is why I'm giving 2 stars... I asked if someone could trim my dogs nails and she said "No one is here they left a little while ago." So what is the point of saying you're open until a certain time if the staff are just going to leave whenever they want? Makes no sense. I will find a different location from now on to get my dogs nails trimmed. read more

I'd give Margaret, our dog's groomer, an extra star if I could! She did such an amazing job with Baxter, our 150# Landseer Newfoundland. He was pretty matted from swimming in our pool, and when we picked him up, he looked like a show dog! We will definitely be visiting more frequently to keep up the polished look! He even knows he looks like a real stud muffin when, what should be a 5 minute trip to Home Depot, turns into an hour and a half due to so much attention. We recently moved to the area, but had been taking our dog to another PetSmart for grooming for several years. This was our first time using this location and I witnessed some horrible treatment of our pet. Picked up our dog and noticed they didn't cut any hair on his ears or face. Asked them to trim this before we left, and at first the two ladies told me they couldn't do it as it had to be the same person who cut his hair. I asked to make a follow up appointment to come back in the next day or two to get this fixed. Both ladies stared at each other, as if they knew they were doing something wrong, and one of them said she would take care of it. I stepped just outside the grooming door, so our dog would not try and get to me while they did a quick trim. Through the window I watched her grab the hair on his chin and yank his head back straight, put her face in his and scream for him to stop moving, yank on his ears so hard he jumped, and all while she knew I could see her. If they treat animals this way when the owner is there, how are they treating animals when owners aren't watching? read more

People are usually helpful. The only product I buy here is aquarium related. So my review is simply based on that. It takes a very long time on most occasions to get help with fish. Most days I've gone in I wait a good 15 minutes for assistance. The other day four employees were gathered by the goldfish talking, while my son and I stood a foot away from them looking at them, waiting for help. When they finished their conversation they were ready to finally get us our fish. Most recently I went in for a plecto and was almost denied a purchase because "my tank was too small" for one. Mind you I have a 20 gallon tank with one happy 2 year old plecto already residing in it. She was convinced this wasn't possible as they grow to 4ft. My plecto is barely 3 inches much less 4ft. I had to argue to spend my hard earned money there. I understand you're supposed to read up on fish when you're hired there, but this was just asinine. read more

I will never return to this location and I will try to take all my business to Petco from now on actually. I actually prefer Petco overall. I've been actively involved in animal rescue as a volunteer for nearly 20 years, and I've never had such an unsupportive encounter with an employee in a pet related retail space. I guess petsmart doesn't support animal rescue. I met up with a potential adopter at this location with my foster dog, who I'm fostering for a nonprofit local animal rescue (as I have been in the Austin area since 2001) and an employee ignored the scared dog's obvious distress at her hasty approach, asked if we needed help, to which I said no thank you. Instead of going off to see if someone else actually wanted her in their space, she asked if I had my Williamson county badge. No, I'm not affiliated with Wilco, it's actually a Travis county rescue but this particular location was in between the potential adopter and I. We each had several items we intended to buy, but neither of us wanted to spend a dime there after this bizarre interaction. She said she'd go check with her manager to see if it was ok for us to be there!? She came back, said I had to check in with them and something about cat adoptions (this is a dog rescue mind you). I told her that was ok, I wouldn't be coming back. Horrible experience and I wish this phantom manager would have come over instead, but really-I wish we hadn't been harassed at all. We should be on the same side, as partners in animal rescue. Makes a ton of sense as to why we hold our monthly meet and greet events at Petco! read more

I moved here from Ohio and was very nervous about finding a new place to groom my dog. Josh does an amazing job! Gentle, kind and very thoughtful when it comes to my (almost) blind dog. Reasonably priced and overall a great experience. I also used Banfield and had a fabulous experience with Dr. O'Neil (I think that was her name) and all the vet techs. Very knowledgeable and even followed up afterwards. Great facility all around! PS - if you get there when the vet or groomers is open but the store isn't, look for the doorbell. I didn't know this and I noticed others didn't either. A shiftless worker even saw me waiting and probably heard me knocking on the door but did nothing. When I rang the doorbell she slowly walked over to open the door in a disgruntled manner. read more

I usually get my dog groomed at a different Petsmart, but they've been subpar as of late so I decided to try this one since I work nearby. My groomer, Devan, by far gave my dog the best haircut he's ever had. She gave me some tips on how to brush him correctly so he doesn't all thinned out in some areas, and even sold me some shampoo that's helped immensely with his itchiness. I took my lab yesterday, she'd been sprayed by a skunk and my efforts at bathing her hadn't made much difference to the stench. They fit her in with half an hours notice and did a wonderful job. She came home relaxed and smelling much sweeter! Josh is the guy to ask for there. He has a natural way with dogs, is a very personable man, and does a very thorough job. I even chatted with another lady who was taking her dog for a haircut and she loves this guy. Seems that he's good with large and small pooches. I have used the vet service at this store and the dog training and have found them all to be very professional and excellent value for money. read more

We have an outside Cocker Spaniel on acreage who we bring in at night and we let her hair get long for winter and she gets burrs on her hair plus she jumps in our pool and takes a swim which tangles her hair..Yes when I brought her in she was a mess. I had to take off with the bag of Purina ONE smartblend healthy weight adult formula dog food and ride my bird scooter i definitely didnt steal home and my child, the one and only Roshan also known as "the stupid ass ice age baby" towering over my short toddler like legs was his stocky 6+ foot self and he snatched that shit up and ate it in one swift tear and chug motion followed by his lunchtime 7/11 super big gulp hot dog water slushie. Will never shop here again. Had my dogs bathed here. Found out they had fleas. A "charged" flea bath was given. I was very concerned and asked the groomer what I should use for the fleas. She really didn't have a clue about the different products. I later called and asked if they had flea spray for furniture. The reply I got was "if we do, it should be in the store in the flea section". No one offered to look! When I came back in to pick up the dogs, no one was available on the floor to help me. I had to ask the Banfield employee about flea meds. Also, I asked for change at the register. The guy said he couldn't get me change then the manager came and got it for me. There are a bunch of young kids running the store. So unprofessional. Doesn't compare to the ones in Austin. read more

Terrible customer service! The new managers at this store are horrible. I took my dog yesterday for a grooming appointment, he has been there many times, and traveled an hour to do it. They refused to groom my dog because they didn't have updated vet records, although the person making the appointment said they were going to call my vet office to get them. They didn't, and by the time I got there, my vet office was closed on a Saturday. The managers were incredibly rude, yelled at me, and when I said I wanted to complain they wouldn't give me their last names and said, "We don't want you to have our last names lady." Meanwhile, they have all my information on me including my credit card number. Actually yelling at me infront of others in the store was unbelievable! Horrible customer service. I am going to write a letter to the president of PetSmart, hopefully he cares that this store is going downhill. read more

Horrible place. I used to think it was awesome for the "great" cricket prices, then I look online and seeing we're being charged highway robbery for CRICKETS. Anyway, the fire bellied toad tank is completely uncovered. There is nothing stopping the fire bellied toads from getting out. They treat them like fish tank, but fish cannot climb up walls like frogs can. I and my boyfriend on 3 different occasions now have had 3 different employees tell us that these little baby frogs just "get out" and "dry up all over the store". The most recent one I've heard, just two days ago, non-chalant, "Yeah, they just get out and shrivel up and we find their dried up dead skeletal remains all over the store..." And then the employee proceeded to continue selling us a frog, which we were going to take care of and LOVE, including our other 15 we have....not leave them without a top on their cage to get out and dry up/shrivel to it's death!!! This is an awful way to treat animals, especially such helpless ones who need water to survive and shame on them since they make such a big deal about a damn minnow being put in the "correct environment at home". I will never return here. How on earth can you leave a cage of climbing frogs out to die?! Petco has locked cages with codes to get into. They actually respect animal life. I have been taking my dog to this location for grooming since I got her in 2007. I have never had an issue before this last week. I had a text confirmation on my phone that my appointment was for 3:30 and when I walked in the girl at the computer said I was late and they had to cancel my appointment. I was at the location at 3:10. When I told her that she was wrong she scolded me and said that I was late and she had to cancel my appointment yet again. When I retrieved my phone and showed her that I was right a second employee said they had a lot of no shows and they had to cancel my appointment. ( no apology given for not letting me know, or for telling me it was my fault.) I drive 35 minutes from my house to get to this location so it is not easy for me to go back and forth. After the employees did not offer any compensation or even an apology, the person that is my normal groomer stepped up and said she would take care of my dog. When I tried to talk to a manager there was none on site. I am very disappointed and as a business owner if I treated my customers this way I would be out of a job. read more
