We set a schedule that we've have been following since we finished our 1st appt, & it's been smooth ever since. Not having to worry about driving around town with 3 cats that get aggravated with the different sounds of traffic on my day off, is a big positive. He comes to you at set schedule & always contacts you a day before to make sure the set schedule is still a go or if a rescheduling is needed. I did have to reschedule a couple of times during the pandemic due to lack of income on my end, but Angel always made it smooth for us. I hired Angel to come out and groom my three dogs while I was out of town. I usually go to Woofgang bakery and grooming on 620 but my Mom who is 80 could not manage to get them there. I had found Angel on Yelp and was lured in by his good reviews. I wish now I had dug a little deeper. I would have realized there were lots of horror stories similar to mine and that the positive reviews come from people that like to have their cats groomed. I'm sure there isn't a lot of competition in the mobile cat grooming business so he has a fan club there. Dogs are definitely not his specialty, or people skills. He quoted me the most expensive grooming price I have ever had, and shame on me, I was getting on a plane and frazzled and didn't really look at it. Getting three doodles fully groomed is expensive but usually in the $5-700 range. Angel quoted me $1078 for all three dogs. This was mobile so I explicated an up charge but then again I wasn't really paying attention. Anyway the money spent isn't my main complaint here. I just want to spare other people and their pets from having any interaction with this insane person. The quote when I went back and looked said the following. *Labor: On site grooming. Nail clipping or filing. Shampoo and hydro bath. Hair cut or furminator depending on breed. Cleaning of the eyes. Cleaning of the ears. Cleaning of their anal glands. Initial rinse. Brushing. Final rinse. Towel dry face. Hand blow dry body. Trim Paw pads. Final brush and bluff. Free Teeth brushing (tooth brush and tooth paste provided by pet's owner). Thanks for the help The more love you give the more love you GAIN." Choose to be grateful :-) I should have realized something was off when included in price are INITIAL RINSE, BRUSHING, FINAL RINSE, TOWEL DRY FACE Also Free Teeth brushing (tooth brush and tooth paste provided by pet's owner). Really????! Are you serious?? Initially getting my dog wet, rinsing the shampoo off and drying their faces off are something not just taken for granted when getting groomed?? Ok weird... But then!! Ooohhhh free tooth brushing!!! Yay!!! Uhmm wait... I have to supply doggie tooth brushes and tooth paste??!! Seriously? For over $1000? Yeah I know, my bad. Ok on to the actual results here. Pictures should be posted at the top of the review and speak for themselves. I specifically mentioned not to cut the dogs eyelashes which is a given and he cut one side off. My Sheepadoodle was just butchered. Uneven all over. One set of lashes gone, ears hacked at, strange point between her eyes. She was cut to look like an Airedale! Her paw pads and nails weren't trimmed. She was very traumatized by the event. I got home the day after and she was not herself and slept for a couple days. My labradoodle also had the strange point between his eyes, different lengths all over, same with feet and nails. My oldest the golden doodle who is 14, looked like a couple hacks had been taken at him. None of the dogs looked bathed. Ok Mr. Strange. After reading through his reviews I saw plenty of this. One woman said he told her to put her baby in a dog cage. Lots of entertaining material on Yelp reviews for Angel. Not sure if the positive reviews are fake or just cat people. Anyway I thought I'd wait till after the holidays to review Angel. Just want to save anyone the freak show that we went through. And what's up with his profile pic when texting? PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. We have a 16yr old Pomeranian who gets regularly groomed at Action Pack Dog Center. Action Pack is amazing but due to time constraints and convenience we tried ATX mobile. HUGE MISTAKE. My wife scheduled the appointment for 11am. He doesn't actually show up until after 12 and instead of apologizing he berates my wife telling her he is like the cable man and he only gives windows of time and can never commit to an exact time. He never mentioned a window of time during appointment scheduling and specifically confirmed 11 when my wife asked. He then asked how we want our dog cut and she told him we want her shaved short. He asks if we want her blow dried because his blow dryer is so loud that it can scare them and could be fatal for older dogs if they have heart problems. He then says he won't be brushing her teeth because she is old and they are probably rotted anyway. My wife tells him forget blow drying and teeth brushing (even though both were part of the package she was expected to pay for). Age of the animal was an input on the form required to get a quote and schedule an appointment. Shouldn't these things have been mentioned when signing up for a package including them??? After less than 10min cutting her, he texts and said he is done. He made some sorry excuse that she would turn away from him when he tried cutting her face so he couldn't finish. If all this wasn't bad enough, he had the audacity to still ask for $78 (only $20 less than the full quote)!!Poor customer service or a bad grooming job is one thing, but this guy was flat out, unapologetically, rude. Our golden Bo is 71 pounds and I was quoted $198. For sure more expensive than taking my pup to a groomer but having Angel show up and not need anything from me was great. He was done in an hour, much less hassle for me is worth more money. What a terrible experience. Every 1 star review here is spot on about this guy. Not only is he rude but he is condescending and made it feel like he did a huge favor by giving my dog a haircut (read on, he literally says it) He gave me a 3 hour window and when I asked for a more accurate ETA, he just texts me 'Stay Tuned'. Then he sends a text the next day saying he is 15 mins away. I drop off an important meeting to go see him. Right off the bat, he starts acting weird. "I don't know what you are saying. What is that word? What is that word?" WTF? It's a dog haircut, I'm asking you if you can keep it a little short since my dog's hair grows back very quickly and mats up easily. Then he basically shuts me up and says "I give him Schnauzer cut, OK". I think OK this guy knows his stuff and go back to my meeting. A few minutes later, I receive a text "Finished". I go to see my dog and my jaw drops. I wasn't expecting what I see. Before I can say anything, he starts venting about how my dog has a bad personality and how he tried to nip him. I felt terrible because he has never nipped at a groomer before. Then he goes on about how he did a favor by showing up at my home instead of me taking the dog to a groomer and the dog attacking someone. "That would be a Loooot of trouble for the dog". He goes on to say "I knew your dog's personality as soon as I saw his picture". Double WTF? Screamed at me in my driveway. I had just paid and we were having a nice conversation. The groomer, Angel, was holding my dog over the fence. I asked him not to drop my dog over the fence, as he is old and has back trouble, had back surgery a couple of years ago. Angel did it anyway, dropped my dog fifteen seconds after I said, "Hey, please don't drop him over the fence," and when I flinched as my dog hit the ground, Angel screamed at me about how I need to "be grateful" and "not worry so much about a dog." Kept screaming at me while I grabbed my dog and ran inside, locking the door. After he finally left, he wrote me several unhinged texts about us all "living inside this Planet floating going around a huge start [sic] and inside this galaxy in the middle of the universe..." Angel is my favorite! He communicates via text (which I love!) and keeps everything short and sweet! He is great about communicating and shows up on time. I've been bouncing around from groomer to groomer in Austin for 10 years now, and prices for my Pomeranian's cut have more than doubled during that time. If you're an overly protective dog mom/dad like me, then I'm sure your biggest concern when selecting a groomer is your baby's safety! So if I'm going to spend $100 every six weeks to have my dog groomed (not because I'm made of $$ or anything, but because a haircut turns my 12 year-old senior back into a puppy), then I might as well pay the extra $30 to have Angel come to my house because it gives me peace of mind. With Angel, he parks outside my house and opens all of the doors on his van and cuts her hair in there in less than an hour, whereas at a typical groomer you hand your dog off and have no idea what it looks like behind that door. I tried this guy today and boy what a waste of money. First of, he charges (for the top service ) for both my dogs $128.00 each. I have a 72 lb GSD and a 42lb Husky. He got to my place on schedule and was friendly enough. I asked that my dogs get trimmed and oh boy did I get the lecture "you know the kind of dogs you have right? They will shed" (like chill bro. I know, I just want a trim and deshedding. Not asking you to shave them) when he got to my husky he just completely refused to even use a deshedding brush on her because he said she was whining. He asked me if she does that with me and of course she doesn't. Maybe if he "knew so much about dogs himself" he would've figured out that "oh maybe I should use a different deshedding brush" since the dog seems so bothered by the one he kept on using And of course after a while I noticed that my dog's paws had hair still sticking out after I was told he was going to trim them. My elderly dog was groomed and looked great! With that said, I would not use Angel again. My elderly dog is very scared of loud noise so I told him do not blow dry her. When I came back to his van to pick her up, he opens the door and hands me a small black baggie. I said, what's this, he said she pooped when I tried to blow dry her! He showed up on time, but I think that was pretty much the only positive comment I had about our experience. His truck is pretty small, especially considering our dogs are on the larger size. Angel is an excellent groomer and really seems to be able to calm any dog or cat, even if they are very anxious. My shitzu is especially difficult to groom and other groomers have, in the past, been unable to clip her nails or finish the grooming session. Not Angel.
