In fact, I did not know that there were so many dog toys. In fact, momentarily I was paralyzed with fear of making a decision. After exploring some possibilities, I decided to defer my decision until I looked at one more place. Mud puppies also offers Playcare, just like day care for children but for dogs in addition to pet grooming and boarding. The team works with each dog's unique personality. Based on my interactions with the staff, I would feel comfortable leaving a dog with them.

They are seriously awesome!…read more We got our darling little chunky monkey, Yeti, on July 11th, and he immediately changed our world forever! He's a now utterly precious almost six month old Havanese (which is the sturdiest of the toy breeds, by the way), and, about a month ago, we knew that we needed to shop around for the perfect groomer for our little guy! We read that puppies with high maintenance grooming needs should be brought to the groomer very young to start getting socialized to the whole experience, so we started checking out different spots to find the one that we most trusted to begin this process with. Hubby and I, of course, scoured the Yelp reviews and began investigating the various highly-rated places around us in North Austin. We brought our then five pound baby along for the ride, and it wasn't until we stepped into Hair O' The Dog Grooming Salon that we knew, without a single solitary doubt, that this was the one! It was just the way that they lovingly grabbed him out of my arms and started showering him with kisses and cuddles! Everyone else had been so cold and matter of fact, but the ladies here were just so warm and enthusiastic, and Yeti was a happy little wiggle butt in all of their arms. Love at first sight, all the way around! They knew exactly what was needed, and they offered me a white board and marker to make communication with them a breeze! We scheduled his first puppy experience for that next Saturday at 9:30am, and they showed me the large kennel on the floor right by the action where they would let Yeti observe from at first. They encouraged me to bring his blankets, treats, and toys to deck out his space, so you know that I totally did! He came out of that first experience (just some very gentle maintenance grooming) so buttoned up and, most importantly, happy as a clam! They even sent me a picture of him in a zombie apocalypse, which was too adorable (see my pics). I threw it right up on social media, naturally! They then scheduled his first real cut for the next month, which is today, so here we are at home waiting for our little dumpling to be ready. The awesome ladies over there have been communicating regularly, and they just sent me his before picture! This review has already gotten ridiculously long, so I'll just leave you with this: I have zero nerves or fears about our precious puppy being in their hands right now, and that is HUGE. The energy there is beautiful, and this is one of those places that I would happily give more than five stars to, if I could! I'll pop the after pictures up when we get him. He always loved the groomers here and he comes back energetic like a weight is lifted off of him. When I moved to South Austin I tried a couple other groomers closer to me but didn't realize they used clippers and weren't doing a thorough job so his double coat got very compacted. We returned to this groomer and he is back to his old self. They did an amazing job deshedding him, got his fur feeling soft and fluffy again, and answered all my questions over text. It is so worth the drive and we don't intend to bring our dogs anywhere else again.

Ok so I don't care what the excuse is ,I have no clue if the dogs are in cages with water or have been able to use the restroom outside their cages for at least 8 1/2 ho I've avoided places like PetSmart foe this same reason . They say oh your pets just fine we have water and we walk them when in fact they don't leave their cage for like 6 hours straight and don't have water bowls either . Even with water sitting in a cage waiting to be groomed from basically 9:00 am to past 5:30 is insane . At this point I'm within reason of being upset to a certain degree . I get they are behind maybe lack help or whatever but damn if you had too many cuts lined up for one day all you had to say was sorry we are booked and left it at that . I appreciate taking my dogs in but don't understand how a small poodle and Shih Tzu take 9 hours to get groomed . Even with doing one dog an hour which i doubt is the case you'd had to have had 15-18 dogs or more all before them if you had two groomers at the least . She is warm and friendly and our catizens are in her capable and loving hands. I asked for specifically what we wanted (ridiculously silly lion cuts) with the warning that both cats are blind so they need a good deal of physical and audible reassurance. It's always a huge concern with special need seniors that they get the gentle, custom care they require. They came back inside calm and the cuts clean, well shaped and less than we expected to pay. She was quick and friendly. Thank you guys for continuing the high level of care we had come to expect and providing Catbus and Mushu with their ridiculous (my request!) lion cuts. Our only complaint is it seems to be really loud, which seemed to stress out our dog. Pretty standard for any grooming place, but for some reason he seemed more stressed when we got him than usual. I just picked up my 10-year-old toy dog from Dogtopia today after a full week stay--which is a long…read moretime for him--and I honestly can't say enough good things. He looks amazing. Somehow, he seems younger: more energy, more interest in his surroundings, and noticeably more alert. On his walk, he had a new spring in his step (he's usually stiff after sleeping most of the day) and was focused and eager to move forward. He typically barks at strangers, but this time showed no interest--and dare I say, he even seemed better trained. At home, he wasn't food-focused in his behavior, and I truly believe he thinks he's still going to get the same level of activity and stimulation he enjoyed at Dogtopia. One of the best parts of his time there is the professional, supervised interaction with other dogs his own size. I never second-guess taking him to Dogtopia. The results speak for themselves.
