We cannot say enough good things about Elyssa at PetSmart. Our dog, Cupid, was honestly a hot mess and not exactly thrilled about groomers. We had previously been turned away by another groomer who said he was "too aggressive," so we were understandably nervous going into this appointment. Alyssa took the time to talk with us, reassured us that she could handle him, and wow...she absolutely delivered. Cupid did AMAZING with her. He was calm, happy, and clearly comfortable in her care. When we picked him up, not only did he look incredible, but he felt unbelievably soft, smelled great, and most importantly he was back to his normal, happy self. It was such a relief after struggling to find the right groomer for him. Elyssa is patient, confident, and truly skilled at what she does. If you have a dog that's a little anxious, reactive, or just needs someone who really knows how to handle them, she's your person. This is a standard PetSmart, so it was an easy way to find most of what I needed. There was one thing's location I was unclear about, so I asked an employee I saw and she easily directed me. I grabbed what I needed and then walked around. I did some price matching of my cat food and was disappointed that a brand name food for would more expensive here. With this economy, don't they think that even die-hard PetSmart customers are probably price checking? At that point, I stopped looking at other things I regularly use for my cat. I did enjoy the reptile, fish, birds, and furry mammal sections. Who wouldn't enjoy looking at that? Of course, it wasn't what I needed and didn't tempt me enough to buy one. (I don't need my cat stalking another animal looking for a tasty treat!) So, PetSmart has a good selection of items, and the live creatures are interesting to see. wife went in today to get my dogs nails trimmed and pads cleaned, lets me start of by saying for a company with the slogan "We will do ANYTHING for Pets", should probably just start off with the services you guys offer then move on to anything because i got back a dog with some trimmed nails, zero pad clean up and a bunch of excuses. A dog being excited, licking, moving should never really be an excuse for not completing an extremely routine service. Who should go here for dog grooming services? I find this PetSmart to be clearly the best PetSmart that I have been to in this area. So much so that even though I have moved 10 miles away, I drive all the way to this PetSmart in round rock for my grooming needs. They have an express service so I can sit and wait for my fur baby to be groomed. I like that. I have a medium size English cocker spaniel and she is 21 pounds and a bath and brush cost me $34. I had her nails ground and that was $15. The express option, which is me waiting for her and having her done immediately, was $15. So the prices aren't cheap however they are worth it. They have an app so we get credit and discounts and coupons which is nice. I also have curbside pick up available. The girl at the checkout counter was very kind. They had a lot of great stuff on discount and they always have a clearance rack and back, which I love to peruse I highly recommend this PetSmart! read more

But this time my experience is forcing me to make an exception. - I don't want to name it, but groomer sounded like new in team or have very less experience. - she need not just soft skill training but also should re-do grooming training - without even looking she told me their will be extra charge for extra brushing which is a add on service saying that my dog have too much undercoat, and some matting for which she said she'll shave, to my surprise even with extra payment they charged I found grooming was not good, my dog still came with matting by the time I was there that groomer left, other groomer saw and said she'll take care. Also on the paw from the bottom she shave it completely which exposed skin. - not just here, when I check in on Yelp it show 10% coupon, when I inquired they were not sure how to use it. Don't use their groomers! I have had tried twice now for my Yorkie to get his haircut there and both times they messed up and blamed him for it, saying he was wiggly. First time I understood and said no worries, and realized he badly needed to go potty. This second time I let the lady doing his haircut know if he is wiggly he needs to go to the restroom. She said no problem, I understand. They call me afterwards and tell me that they are charging me an extra $10 because he was wiggly!! Just finished puppy training there with our youngest dog, Louie, and the reviews I found prior to picking this location were spot on. Hannah was friendly, patient, and a total dog lover. She broke things down in easy-to-understand ways, and didn't give us a hard time when it was obvious we hadn't practiced outside of class (we slacked a little bit, but did our best!). We have been taking our dogs to see Rachel at Petsmart on University Blvd in Round Rock for over 15 years. All three of our dogs were special needs and required special attention. Our first had seizures and Rachel took extra time and caution with him during grooming. Our other two are puppy mill rescues that are extremely fearful of people, but Rachel has that special touch keeping them calm and happy during their grooming. I have only been to this particular PetSmart once. In general the staff I interacted with were friendly, and in spite of a couple minor issues with my Schnauzers haircut, they did a decent job. My issue is that for the past 12 months we have been in a pandemic, and wearing a mask has become standard. Yet, at a point when the number of people infected and dying are at the highest point since it all began, there were two (out of 7) stylists in that tiny room not wearing a mask. Aside from not apparently having concern for protecting their customers, they did not appear to have any concern for protecting their co-workers. Whether they had received that vaccine or not, I do not know...however when the vaccine is received that does not remove the need to wear a mask to protect oneself and others. I have a Husky mix who sheds A TON and had soo much excess hair on her that takes forever to brush out. Do yourself a favor and pay the extra $20 for the shedding treatment. Round Rock, University Blvd., location, after going there for several years with both my dogs (who are very well behaved) & always tipping 20%, they told me that my blind, diabetic dog would have to be on a special program of only coming certain days, alone without my other dog & I'd have to pay $25 dollars more for this "special" service. When we asked someone to help us the lady was acting sketchy, she asked if it was going to be snake food, I answered no. Sara at the grooming salon is the best! We've been going to her for years. She is so great with my old boy, Gizmo. He loves going to see her and gets so excited when she calls his name and loves on him. He always looks so handsome, and the most important thing is that it's an enjoyable experience for him. If i could give no stars I would. In the summer of 2017 I took my parents lab to get a nail trim. He is very scared of other dogs so I try to take him when petsmart is the least busiest. He is always kind to humans, and has never had a grooming issue. When I was checking him in I was told that he was missing some of his vaccinations and that they couldn't do a nail clipping without those vaccines.. My parents couldn't remember when he was last vaccinated. So I went and took him to a vaccine station and got him revaccinated. Then we came back with the paperwork. low and behold when we checked in it said that he was actually up to date on vaccines, so now he was over vaccinated. The person at the front counter said that the computer often has glitches like this. If this is a real common problem then it needs to be fixed with urgency! I explained to his nail clipper employee that corby is not great around other dogs. I watched outside in the window. The employee clipping my dogs nails was extremely young, and was obviously still training or learning, which is fine but I was hoping that with a fearful dog petsmart would have the common sense to pair that dog with someone with experience. So this young girl is pulling at my dogs nails trying to clip them. She can't get a good angle and is pulling my dogs limbs in ways that dogs can't move in. I'm getting nervous because it looks terrible. The girl clipping my dogs nails is looking around frantically and doesn't know what she is doing. She keeps asking the older woman, the manager, for help and the manager is just rolling her eyes and obviously is not being helpful. Then my dog tries to get away from the clippers by backing up and he falls off the table, with the rope around his neck hanging him. I run in and everyone in the shop gets him back on the table. I then ask the manager to just finish his clippings. He isn't being aggressive, biting, or doing anything dangerous to the employees, he was just scared and nervous. The manager says she is busy, so I say that it's only a little clipping left and that I need her to do it. Finally with attitude and an eye roll she goes to my dog and clips him. Everyone outside by the window tries to see if I am alright and if my dog is alright. When the clipping is finally done I go up front to pay. The checkout person asked if I was happy with my visit and I said no. I told her that I would like a phone number or an email for the store manager to discuss what happened. She said that she is a manager and would like to know what happened so I told her everything, and the woman behind me whom also watched what happens backs me up. The manager feigned shock and took down my number and email saying that her manager would get a hold of me. I wasn't offered a discount or anything for the terrible clipping. Not that money was the point but the whole experience was insane. A week went by and the manager never tried to contact me. I called the store maybe 3 times to contact him but the manager was never in the store when I called. I tried to let the store handle the issue but they never tried so I got fed up and called the petsmart help desk. I explained the situation and the woman on the phone was extremely rude and condescending . She mocked my worry for my dog. She asked if there was blood and said that since there wasn't blood she doesn't see why I would be upset. She even admitted that the grooming training for nails isn't all that. After like 30-40 minutes of explaining what happened and being mocked and told that my issue isn't a big deal, I finally was given the phone number of the district manager for this store. I called the district manager and left a message three times. I have never heard back from him. I've lost absolutely all respect for petsmart, their employees, managers, phone service, training, and anything else associated with petsmart. I will not visit this petsmart. I will purchase toys and treats at other petsmarts, hoping that they are better. But I will never again go into this petsmart. Worst grooming service and worst customer service I have ever experienced. read more

I took my Maltapoo puppy in for a bath and trim. She had a hair tie in her hair and instead of cutting it off, they cut her hair off cutting her and leaving a bald spot! She has a scar on her head now. Very upsetting to know they hurt her and that hair won't grow back. I would never go there again. Cutting off a hair tie is so simple I wish I would have cut it off myself. There's no fix for this. read more

We got our fur baby groomed here on a whim. It was very last minute and turned out to be great! Renee was our groomer and took the time to get to know our pup before we left her. It turned out that our dog didn't like the blow dryer and they couldn't do the full grooming package that we asked for, so they didn't charge us! We thought that was fair and we were happy that they didn't force our pup to do anything she didn't want to do.
