I'm from out of state and was trying to find a temporary groomer while visiting the Dallas area. My grooming appointment was for 12 noon and waited for three hours for my dog to get done. It took for me to get ticked off after I walked in after three hours for them to finish my dog. The manager tried to smooth it over with all the steps. Bullshit. Don't care. I paid $50 for them to give my dog a bathe and clip her hair. 1/2 hour tops. Not impressed! Will not return. I will wait until I can make it back to my home town. read more

A pet store with pretty much all you need for many different types of pets. I go there for my cats and they have the good quality food and items for their special litter box. The prices are on par with other stores. I haven't used any of their services, but they offer Veterinarian services and grooming services. They have some exotic animals like lizards and a few smaller snakes. They have rabbits, gerbils, hamsters and mice. The had a decent selection of fish as well. The last time I was in they set-up a small dog adoption area in the middle of the store. It was a fenced off area that customers to play with puppies and dogs up for adoption. They also had a few adult cats for adoption. Staff is always helpful when they aren't too busy. My only real complaint is some times they seem under staffed and checking out can be slow. Okay once again I'm comparing this PetsMart to the Salem, NH one. I'll say that straight out. That was my standard for what a petsmart should be. In Denton, this petsmart just squeeks by. The toy selection for dogs is very limited. There is one small isle and end isles but still not much of a selection. The food is ALWAYS out when I need it and its hard for me to get ahold of the dog food I need. Thankfully I can substitute for the same brand. The size of a store is a lie! I am expecting this large store and I go in and its small. What??!?!?!?!?! You can't do that to me. Customer service is awesome! I go in the people are friendly and Skittles for once doesn't respond with a bark, so you know they're good quality. Overall I knocked off stars for being out of stock, the limited choices in items such as food and treats. The fact that the store looks kind of shady, but its not..poor design. read more

I give this petsmart it's rating based on my experience of 2x in the store. Everyone was very helpful but it could be that I just happen to have the most adorable puppy (cottonelle lookalike puppy) so wel'll see how it goes when she is no longer a puppy. I was having a lot of difficulty just trying to find my new puppy dog food (first time "official" dog owner) and the girl at the register was incredibly helpful and offered suggestions. I went with one of her suggestions "Natural Choice" and my puppy loves it! The only DOWNSIDE with Petsmart as a whole is that as a college student this place is not for the poor (like myself). I bought my puppy 3 chew toys, a leash, a collar, puppy food and a dog tag and it was $111.78. I about fell over. Walmart for pet toys and leashes for sure from now on. I plan on trying their grooming services one day still though. read more

I had purchased a $50.00 gift card on 12/6/19 for a friend who we celebrate the adoption of her pet. I received a $10.00 gift card to be used in January only and I at that time I asked how long this would go on and they said through the month. I purchased another $50.00 gift tag this am on 12/22/19 and they told me they were out and did not even offer a $10.00 credit to me. Oh and they were sorry. I personally will not purchase from Petsmart again and just go to Petco. I hate liars! read more

This review is solely for their Aviary specialists. We purchased a Green Cheek Conure from here, and you can tell the Aviary guys really care about the birds. "Merlin" already knew a list of tricks and the staff were genuinely sad to see him go. I am not a huge fan of pet stores that sell critters, but this location takes very good care of them, and it shows. We have 2 dogs. One is 13 years old and the other is under a year. They have both been here a couple times. I like that I can drop them off in the morning and pick them up later. They come out looking just the way we ask. One time our puppy got nervous/sick and they had to stop before they finished. They were still able to get him pretty clean and they didn't charge me. Sometimes there's hiccups but it's how you resolve the hiccups that determines the service. read more

I have used Petsmart grooming for years. My favorite groomer left over a year ago. I have tried several other grooms. Some are ok.. Well Monday, my dog badly needed grooming. I was assigned to Gracie. My dog is a Havanese. He had a good number of tangles. Gracie said she would have to shave them out. I ask can you brush out any? No...I said to leave as much hair as you can. She SHAVED him, All of him including ears. He is depressed...pink skin is showing. I will NEVER GO BACK to Petsmart again. She had several dogs lined up after 5pm. She did not try to brush him out any tangles. He didn't even smell like he had a bath. She said she did not have time to express his glands. Really? He just takes a few seconds. If you use Petsmart grooming DO NOT USE GRACIE. I literally gasp and put my hand over my mouth when she brought him out. This location is medium sized but still has everything you need. I haven't been to the store without finding what I was looking for. Prices are high but thats expected with this chain. Overall average store, customer service is on the higher end though. read more

took my small dog here for grooming. this was the only place that does grooming on sundays. it took 3 hours just for a bath, she did not get a haircut. she has been acting very strange ever since. its been 3 days, and she is very mellow, and wont hardly eat. my dog is a very hyper dog, and she eats twice a day. she has barely been eating once a day. last night she wouldnt eat til midnight. she won't even play with her favorite toy. she looks too mellow, and depressed now. its just strange. read more

We just took our dog George here to get groomed and Ann was amazing. She took great care of him and made sure that he felt comfortable with her. She also helped us with advice for after care as far as what type of brush to use and things like that. We'll definitely be coming back. I have 3 pomeranians ( with papers ) and have been taking them to Denton petsmart for years for grooming. Someone there mentioned that i was being charged a grooming fee for a "miniature American Eskimo" ,which is more expensive . Evidently , thats what they have been charging me all of these years. instead of a fee correction, and an apology, all that i got was an arguement that this was " the standard " for my dogs whatever that means. I wont go back there. They also charge extra for weekends. So i would advise to question charges if you take your dog there read more

This review is based off the grooming service. My last two appointments have been done by Ann, and she has done a fantastic job. She is kind and she handles my old mini schnauzer very well. The store itself is huge, the employees LOVE me because they give my master coupons on pet food, toys and free nail-clippings. I also saw the most attractive cat walking around the store on a leash. Took my dog here twice! The first time the groomers were all sitting around talking as I was waiting at the counter. They didn't greet me for a good 2 minutes, but I got over it. The second time the groomer was very rude. My dog has extremely bad allergies, which causes his skin to be irritated. He can only receive his allergy shot so often. So of course right before he can get it again, his skin is irritated. She acted like I didn't take proper care for my dog and went on to tell me how she pays $200 for her dog's allergies. I don't care about the groomers life. I'm taking care of my pet and in order to provide optimal customer service you should deliver your message in a different manner, with a better attitude, and look at various perspective before making assumptions. Subpar grooming, my wife didn't even think that they washed him. He doesn't smell clean at all which is ridiculous especially considering that I paid extra for the deodorizer. I spent $78 for a full cleaning and do not feel I got my money's worth. I will unequivocally never go here again and would recommend either Beau's down the street or Petco. read more

My dog came back not groomed well, the hair cut was half assed done. First the girl tried to tell me we got to cut off all his hair cause of some little hair mat's. I sugested I pay more for them to take the few hair mat's out. They were little ones and a few. Seems she just wanted to cut off all his hair to be a fast ass job. I should have noticed this and walked out now I think about it. His ears were not cleaned and hair removed like I asked for and offerd to pay more for. They keept my dog 3 hours, for a job I suggest they did not do just keept him in a cage and perfumed him up brushed his hair at the last moment type of job. So I took off work and groomed my dog my self "which I should have in the first place". My dog had some kind of body skin rash from this place and he was very itchy. Dirty water and dirty equiptment was used, and the water was very very dirty just by rinseing him off at home. They did not cut his nails either. I was so pissed off, it had been dwelling on me how I got ripped off. When I decided to write this. I had already got rid of the bath water. I should have taken a pic to post also. I did not say nothing or ask for a discount cause the girl claimed he was "too hard to groom" he was too agressive or something to cover her not doing anything. I should have asked for a refund but I was really pissed and did not want to make a huge issue. My dog "ran" out of there seems he was tramatized some how also. I have been here several times to get my chihuahuas nails trimmed & grinded. They have with no problem, twice. But my dog gets excited & nervous, She hates her feet messed with.She would claw & even attempted to bite once. So I suggested muzzling her. They wouldn't. So I went to the vet & got drugs to calm her before getting her nails done. Groomers wouldn't because she was drugged. I went back last weekend and her rabies tag was not good though for them. They needed the paper from the vet. The tag is clearly engraved 2012. I have had nothing but grief everytime I have gone there. I wont recommend them to anyone ! read more

PLEASE NEVER TAKE YOUR FURBABIES TO PETSMART FOR GROOMING. I dropped Athena off today for a simple BATH, no cut or trim just a bath and got a call shortly that she had a cut on her leg. The lady on the phone tried to make it seem like it wasn't a big deal but something felt off so I drove back up to petsmart. Athenas leg was bandaged up and she was soaking wet, cold and shivering. Athena had a laceration so deep and was bleeding so badly that they had to SEDATE HER AND GIVE HER TWO LAYERS OF STITCHES. I was given absolutely no explanation and they even tried to say she may have been like that when we brought her in which the vet said would've been IMPOSSIBLE because of how fresh the cut was. Athena is more than a pet to me she's my life. She has been crying and howling in pain since I got her and I can't give her pain meds yet and my heart is aching. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS INTO PETSMART FOR GROOMING. They are CARELESS and INCOMPETENT!!!! read more

I have taken my dog to PetSmart groomers before and I will admit that it hasn't always been bad. Despite high prices my dog has always come back happy and well-groomed. However I am sorry to say that last time was the drawing line for myself and my animal. The appealing feature of PetSmart's Dog Groomers is that they keep your dog's shot records on file so that you don't have to bring a copy with you every time you come and despite having gone to that specific PetSmart for over a year, my dogs seemed to magically disappear. Of course mistakes happen so I brushed it off and simply brought a new copy as I had taken her to the vet the following week. I dropped my dog off in perfect health, according to my veterinarian, and when I got her back her hair was shaved so short that she had cuts on her back. I took her home after making sure she was alright and solemnly swore to never use that specific groomer again thinking that it was just a new groomer. That is until the very next day where I discovered fleas on my dog which were not there previously. I'll be finding a new groomer now, thank you very much. read more

This PetSmart tried to cover up what they did to my dog. The groomer was suppose to give my dog dose of K9 Advantix for her flea problem, my dog is under 20 pounds but he gave her a dose for a 55-70 pound dog. He knew what he did when I went to pick her up but said nothing. The manager who wasn't even there that day called me the next day to tell me to get my dog to the vet, I was there for almost five hours, my dog had a fever and tremors and they feared she could have a seizure. The manager said he'd make a report to their corporate office and they'd get back to me but he never did, and was ticked off that I finally called them and made it clear they wanted to keep it within the store. Then they offered me dog food and a coupon book as if that would make everything okay. Be ware of sending your dog here, the same groomer is still working there (the only male one). He gets to keep his job working on animals when he shouldn't be and I was denied supplies for my dog who is still suffering. what happened to your code of ethics PetSmart? read more
