Jace was awesome and gave me some great recommendations on acclimation and food supplies for the tetras! Followed his advised and an hour later and the tetras are schooling! My complaint is with ordering online. I've ordered fish food in bulk for months and for some reason they use the cheapest 3rd party shipping. I ordered on the 3rd of July and it did not ship out of New Jersey for 5 days!!! 5 days it just sat there. Finally made it to Ohio where it sat there for a few days. I still don't have it and it's not expected until Tuesday IF it even makes it then? 2 weeks? Ridiculous! If the fish food wasn't so cheap, I would NOT do business with this company. read more

This company needs to send their employees thru training that teaches them how to treat customer's, because they lack of customer service etiquette. What a hack job. Looks horrible. Run away from these groomers!! There's a reason they make you pay before they bring the dog out. If I'd gotten a look at my dog first I would never have paid the $180 they charged me for butchering her hair. She's a German Shepherd, so I can't even guess how long it will take for her hair to grow out enough to look halfway normal. Just awful. read more

I picked up my dog after hours because she was "whining and crying" while getting groomed when she is usually a very calm dog .Employee was really rude to my mom and my boyfriend. Ever since then she flinches really hard as if I was gonna hit her anytime I try picking her up. Never come here with your dogs because they can't do their jobs right especially JUANA. read more

I can only say how sad and disappointed I am with my dogs grooming appointment! Took over 4 hours and they did a terrible job. I specifically tild them not to shave her short!!! The did't even attempt to deshed her! She was uneven and some of her nails were cut way too short. They blamed the dog for moving to much! Worst grooming experience ever! read more

I came into this Petco to get something for my cat. I saw that they had two cats up for adoption so I went over to see them out of curiosity. I was appalled by their living situation. One was sleeping in it's own litter box and looked extremely sad. The other cat had an infection in its eye and looked like it had no room to even move in it's enclosure. This is super disappointing and if I had the opportunity to adopt them both I would have but seeing I have an aggressive cat already I cannot. Lots of dead fish in aquariums. Poor customer service; difficult to find someone to help and when we did they were very rude.

I went in to purchase their Just Food for Dogs food and they didn't have the turkey kind I was looking for. I saw an associate by the name Kaleb and asked for his help! He was so through and helpful and just overall went above and beyond to make sure that what I needed, I got. It was so nice to see someone not just try to quickly answer a question and move on, he was very thorough, helpful, pleasant and made the experience way better! I went yesterday to this store looking for a Pet Step for my puppy. I asked an employee in what aisle I could find one. She walked with me and showed me where I could find one; unfortunately, they were all sold out. As I was heading out of the store, the same employee walked towards me holding a Pet Step that was returned and could not be resold because it was slightly damaged. To my surprise, she gave it to me for free. I was full of gratitude for this lovely gesture. I definitely recommend this store. read more

Corporations like this store continue to get greedy in today's economy where people are struggling to put food on their table AND take care of their pet. Not only is everything more expensive but now this PETCO is also charging 10 cents a plastic bag. If someone like me comes in to a store and spends $65 on stuff for my pet I should AT LEAST get a free bag to place my small items and carry them out in a dignified way. RIDICULOUS. PETCO should be ashamed of themselves for being so money hungry and greedy. It's not the 10 cents - it's the principle. I can spend my hard earned $65 somewhere else next time. read more

I would give 5 stars every day for the groomer who grooms my dogs. She does the most incredible job, gives me report cards when I pick up, and is kind and patient with my special needs dog. 5 stars all around for Brandi! No complaints there. :) However, the way the salon is organized has concerned me the last few times I have dropped off for appointments. Today I waited 25 minutes to get in for my appointment while the salon was letting walk-ins ahead of those who had appointments- there was about 5 other dogs waiting in the lobby as well, making it a higher stress environment for all animals involved. I understand businesses are slammed more than ever and I would guess that the grooming staff probably has no control over appointment scheduling- but for whoever does have control over amount of appointments- we were just all a little concerned that the salon was too over-booked. read more

This store is super clean, which I feel like may be a hard task to do given that it's a pet store. The atmosphere is great and all of the employees were super helpful. They were so kind and gave me all of the information that I needed to make my experience complete. We initially went to look into obedience training prices for our sweet dog. Not only did we get prices, but it was the best fit that we found so we signed her up and we couldn't be more excited to start classes this Friday. The one and only thing that I think they may have the opportunity to grow on would be the size of the store, but that is no issue that the employees could change themselves. So overall, it was a great experience and I would definitely recommend this store to anyone with any furbaby!! read more

This has become our go to place for dog food. The prices on our brand are the best around, especially with the pet perks card. They have a great selection and good variety of our specific brand. The staff is usually pretty friendly. We always want to pet the cats and most of the time the staff appears to not mind getting them out of the cages for us. The store is well lit and clean. The animals seem pretty well taken care of. The cats are a little pricy though. They are over $100 and a staff member once told us that they are cats from the denton shelter which only cost $60 to adopt. Not sure why such a higher cost? Anyways, they have pretty much everything you need for any type of pet that you have. It's also nice that it's right by Walmart so everything you could possibly need is right in the shopping center. read more

I've been coming to this Petco for 3 years now, never had a problem until 8/30/16. I took my toy chihuahua for grooming to when I came in she (Ashly) said she couldn't get groomed because I had vaccinated her the same day. No big deal, I asked if she could at least get her nails clipped and she went like well yeah ok I can do that, with attitude... Ok I give my dog to her and I think she thought she was alone because I squatted on the floor petting my other dog. All of the sudden I hear her screaming at the dog (keep in mind it's a toy chihuahua) STOP! STOP IT! NO BITTING! I get up and as I'm getting up to look she squeezes the dog and the dog yelps! That's when obviously she stopped cause I told her to give me my dog back! She went like oh I'm not done I have 2 more to go. I payed for the crappy services this lady (if I can call her that) did. As I was looking for a manager (Steve) to explain what happened he was curious and courteous enough to take care of not just the situation but give me my money back. If she didn't wanted to work or do it I would've understood cause not everyone has a great day, but if you're inflicting pain to an animal by grinding their nails like you should stop, take a break, a walk, something, whatever she wanted. It got me thinking. I was there, what else has happened when you leave your animal and you're not there to see..... I'm only giving this review a 2 because of the manager, he was great. As for the groomer if I could give her a -10 that would've been the rating. Needless to say we're not going back. read more

I had such a wonderful experience here today that I had to write a review. I stopped by since it was closer than Petsmart, and I was needing a specific food for my kitten. I was immediately greeted by a worker to showed me straight to what I was looking for. They had a good selection of dog treats- not so many that I am overwhelmed by what to by and most of them were good quality products. I also discovered my dogs food there, that I am currently buying from TSC in Denton because of their prices. They have the same product here, but a few dollars cheaper. I stopped by to see the kittens in for adoption, and was immediately greeted by a young woman who was working with them. She told me so much about each and every cat and seemed to truly care for them and her job. She then talked to me about the best way to introduce my cat to a new cat. Another worker joined in the conversation also. They employees were so friendly and caring. I haven't had such a great experience at the Petsmart in Denton since I've been going there the past 10 years, prices were lower on what I was buying, and friendly service. This is a really great Petco. It's new, clean, well stocked, organized, and the employees have good customer service. The cashier today even remembered that the last time he checked my mom out, scanning her small cat food cans got messed up and he said so and took extra care to make sure every can rang up right. This is the nicest fish department of all the pet supply stores within an hour. I was more impressed than my recent visit to the Dallas World Aquarium. Well buy treats and toys here, our huskies love the antlers and merrick treats. The grooming employees is what bring me back constantly though. Our female loathes anyone who touches her paws despite working with her to not be this way. Its impossible for me to trim her claws at home without a nice working table like what groomers use. She literally screams and jerks away, but they always get the job done well. The trainers that are here are always super helpful and friendly as well. Very disappointed with my experience on training my dog Bentley. We first were set up with Diane who could have been a great trainer. However she called out three times out of five on us and the worst part is we never received a phone call. So each time we would load our dog up and drive 15-20 minutes to get to the store, only to find out she wasn't there. It was a waste of time and gas for me. Spoke to manager and we agreed for us to switch trainers. We got set up with Debra and she was also great the two times. However the same thing happened and she called out. Once again I received no phone call. I am not upset at the trainers at all but more so how the store handled the situation when someone calls in sick. They handled it by doing absolutely nothing. A simple phone call would have worked and I would have rescheduled the session. It was very unprofessional and inexcusable. I suggest no one go through their training because there is no consistency. I did get my money back. I am better off training my own dog at this point. read more
