This grooming company, didn't do what I asked them to do! I spoke with them on the phone when scheduling my appointment and told them I have a Yorkshire Terrier 4 years old named Cupcake! I requested a Yorky Cut! And did they have anyone who specializing in that particular cut, and they said yes, and I said I, definitely wanted a groomer, that was her specialty! I also showed them a picture! I also requested to pay extra for the anti itch shampoo and conditioner...My baby was skinned so low that I didn't recognize her! She came in and ran under the sofa and I knew then she didn't like the experience! She was also itching uncontrollably, and I noticed on her was shaved down to her skin in places! I called Kontota, the next day because we didn't get any sleep! She was scratching nonstop! They told me it wasn't anything that they could do and they wouldn't give me back any money! I took Cupcake, to her to her vet @Banfield and spent 98.00 on prescription medication and extra for an allergy shot! Please don't allow your animal to be abused and treated like my Cupcake! It was an horrible experience! I called them and was crying and that's when they said it wasn't anything they could do! And wouldn't refund any of my money, and I hadn't brought it up about any money! Please, beware! She had another Mobile Grooming Company, named BarkBust!, where she had gone for a long time! If I could give them a negative five rating, I would do that. It was a disaster from start to finish. I filled out the paperwork but not even sure they read it. I had requested a 3/31/26 appt and they changed it to 3/30. Why ask when you aren't going to allow the requested date? I also told them my dog was large, weighed 63 lbs and was an 11 yr old Golden Doodle. They also said Natalie would be my groomer. Then the morning of the 30th, they texted me and said my groomer would be Kaitlyn. She arrived on time but they set her and my dog up for failure because in the van was a grooming table that was small and apparently very wobbly. When I saw the table, I should've just said no thanks but I thought I would give them a try because of their high ratings and reviews. Kaitlyn called me about 5 minutes later and said it wasn't going to work because my dog was so scared being with someone she didn't know, she was shaking all over and the table was too wobbly. She said maybe I should consider rescheduling the appt. I said no, I would come and get her. They not only traumatized my dog but they also injured her. When she lays down, she can no longer get up on her own. It was a total disastrous experience; certainly not the smooth, wonderful experience I was lead to believe. This review is based on using Kontota for nearly 3 years. In that time, every single groomer I have gotten is different. They have a very high turn over rate, which tells me they aren't paying their techs enough, or there are fundamental management issues. I have a golden retriever. He is very sweet and sometimes shy. The first few times I used Kontota, the experience seemed great. The groomers i got seemed to genuinly love being with animals. I would get pictures during the process, and they would usually do some sort of silly little bandana or something. I was paying about $350 for this though, so honestly, I figured if I was paying that much, then this is the least I could expect. On Thursday, Nov 20th of 2025 I had them out to get my pup groomed up before Thanksgiving. The fellow who arrived was not personable, however I figured as long as he did a good job, I guess it didn't really matter. The other groomers who were out generally spent between 2-3 hours with Finn. This guy was done in under 90 minutes. When he brought Finn back to the door, he couldn't get away from the guy fast enough. He ran in the house and hid in his bed. That seemed very strange. Usually after a bath and a haircut he seems quite proud of himself and is very sociable. I asked the guy how Finn did, and he mumbled something about "he was scared but we got through it". At this point, I'm not thinking there is a problem, so I pay the guy, tip him, and he leaves. Finn doesn't leave his bed for the next 2 hours. And when he does finally get up, he is visably limping. I checked his foot and found that when his nails were clipped, they were clipped WAY too short, and one was done so poorly that the nail was cracked up into his foot. If you aren't aware, a dog's nail is not like ours. It is part of their bone. So when a nail splits, it is like having a fracture in your bones. I took Finn to the vet the next morning and they cleaned up his paw, wrapped his foot, and put him on pain killers. The very next day I get a text from Kontota saying, "HEY! We haven't seen FInn in a while! We would love to schedule a visit!" I reply that they just saw him yesterday, and as a matter of fact, I had just returned from the vet with him. I then sent over the vet bill along with the diagnosis from the vet showing what happened. They reply that they will show this to management. I got no reply from them after that until today, when they sent me a message asking to schedule another grooing session with them. A that point, I was frustrated enough with them that I decided to write this review. These guys injured my dog. They took no accountability. And they blindly keep messaging me for more appointments. Not only did I pay them over $350 to hamr my dog, I then paid another $150 to have him treated at the vet. Stay away. A bad hair cut or an expensive hair cut is one thing. Injuring your animal and then ignoring you is quite another. I gave them all the time in the world to address this properly and they chose not to. read more

I have gone through four groomers from this business over the past 8 months on my puppy. Every time the hair is choppy, areas missed, sanitary area not shaved or cleaned. And each time they send me "a really good groomer". So if I ally have it one more shot today, NO GO! They chopped a section of her ear hair off in the front. Once again sanitary area has mats and is not shaved. Took 2.5 hrs and she didn't have her body done because it's short already. Her dew claws aren't cut and they didn't round out her paws as I asked. They never cut short enough and I swear it's so you have to go back sooner. I'm finally demanding my money back. The supervisor called me back and he offered someone else to come fix it. NO. he wasn't even apologetic for what happened. They hire young people with no experience and charge a fortune. read more

If I could rate zero stars I would. I was originally happy with the service here until Cici left the company. I was also happy during the first 2 grooming appointments with Toni but then everything went down hill. She kept coming with a second person - different every time. I get the feeling she was training them because each time the grooming got worse and worse. The day that Steven last got groomed, I called to let Kontota Grooming know that I was not pleased with how my dog was groomed and no one bothered to call me back. Seems to be that whenever the groomer leaves there is no way of reaching her. I have had as much patience as I could with how he was groomed the last 3 times asking the groomer to correct things here and there. Not sure how sand was in my eyes AGAIN this last time - I thought he was ok but his tummy (sanitary area) was not shaved, he had elf looking feet because the hair was not cut properly, all around his body (neck, back, sides (well everywhere) his hair was just uneven, and he developed dark spots on his skin that the vet suggested was a result of using dirty equipment.  Then no one even bothered to care enough to call me from Kontota. You can tell in the picture I have posted (enlarge it to see what I am talking about) how uneven his hair was cut and you can also see his elf paws. I don't mind paying good money but to pay so much money for this kind of grooming is ridiculous. Never again. I am done with this company. Customers beware - they are not worth your money. Stop sending me messages to make appointments and delete me as a customer. I know other companies out there who would love my business and the generous tips I give the groomers but they will have to do a decent job to earn it. read more

They are great at putting up with my doggos, from my Shepkita to my German Shepherd to my crazy husky who basically screams the whole time she's getting groomed lol. The manager tried to fix it by getting a second groomer to do the hair cut who also didn't want to come in the afternoon and so she made up a story about the service requested (using scissors to cut out one mat was not recommended). So happy & very grateful for Jacob & Kontota Mobile Grooming. We are new to TX & needed to find new everything. We have a senior mini schnauzer who has hearing deficits & is a very loving but Omega personality. For months, we searched for a groomer here but were denied (unfamiliar senior dog w/ special needs, sign me up!). We ended up having to go back to his original groomer whenever we visited friends. It seems a good groomer is hard to find & are in high demand. Then someone mentioned looking for a mobile groomer so I could be around if he needed reassurance while processing yet another new situation. Dexter was picked up after the holidays from a new boarder & definitely traumatized & very dirty. Long story short, Kontota returned our call promptly & scheduled our guy for the next day. Jacob showed up on time, listened thoroughly & despite the cold, made our guy feel as comfortable & safe as possible (btw, you cannot stay in the van but it was a nice thought my friend had). In the end Jacob went above & beyond & worked so hard. No mats & my boy is so much happier & showed up at our door to run around the house to play. What magic does this young man possess to take an older deaf traumatized dog & deliver a renewed wagging pup scampering again? I had my 3 year old german shepherd bathed and I paid extra for nailes to be cut and the pad hairs trimmed. What I got...was. a damp dog that had not had his nails cut nor the hair removed from the pads on his feet. I got an inexperienced and poorly trained groomer. I had contacted kontota on three seperate accounts to have a more experienced groomer to come and trim my dogs nails as they are turning side ways when he walks. My dog is new to me , a rescue from a shelter, and adopted from a foster home. He can be a handful and I don't know if he has ever been bathed but still an experienced groomer sohold have everything handled' This is a p[oor way to try to start a new business. OH YA it cost me $154 plus a 15 dollar tip. YIKES read more

I used them about five different times to bathe and groom my dogs. On the last visit, it was like all the groomer did was bathe the dogs only and did not cut their coats. Keep in mind that they charged me $150 per dog. I texted Kontot, and no reply back. Then this week, they texted me saying it's time for the dogs grooming. My dogs coats developed knots in tgeir coats and we had to take them to another groomer and pay again. I replied back to their text that I wasn't pleased with their last grooming, and I never heard back from them that they didn't cut my dogs' coats. Kontot's response was that we are sorry, and we will give you 10% off our next visit if you decide to use us again. I guess business is so good if that is how they treat customers. read more

Kontota grooming did a terrible job on my golden doodle. They groomed my dog twice and both times they had to send a 2nd groomer out to do the grooming because they were inexperienced and poorly trained . One time they gave me my dog back soaking wet from their bathtub because the groomer had to leave . I had to dry my dog and wait 4 hours for another groomer to show up and she did a terrible job with his hair being uneven and choppy . They do not have trained groomers nor do they practice good customer service. This is not a good groomer business. Do not use them !! read more

This was our second time with Daniel as our groomer. We rescued an Aussie in July so her first time being groomed was with Daniel & he did such a amazing job so we had Daniel groom her again for the holidays and he did an awesome job again! This time we had our other Pyrenees mix get groomed since he needed a good deshed anyway & Daniel knocked it out the park with him as well. After 2+ years using this company I'm finally done. We used them for baths for my lab and grooming for my mini schnauzer. The last couple of times my mini schnauzer got a haircut it looked AWFUL, I don't believe the groomers doing his haircut knew how to do a schnauzer cut, and it was sloppy work which I did not expect with the cost. No big deal, I started taking my schnauzer to Paws up the road for haircuts and still using Kontota for my labs baths. Well, the last couple of baths they forgot to trim his nails which is supposed to be included. I told them they forgot to which I was told, no they didn't. Okay, I can cut my own dogs nails. They sent an email offering a coupon for our next bath which I scheduled and they forgot to apply the coupon, I was told it would be applied to my next bath. I got another coupon and scheduled another bath, which of course The next bath they forgot AGAIN both of the discounts, not to mention charged me for a long hair bath when my lab has short hair (a $30 difference). It was like PULLING TEETH to get the difference back for the cost of the baths + discounts that were missed. This company takes shortcuts and over charges + doesn't honor discounts/ coupons. It's a different person every time and the prices charged for my dogs weight were never consistent. We will be switching to another mobile groomer for both of our dogs moving forward and I will not be recommending Kontota to anyone. Their service has really declined the past few months which is unacceptable given the prices. read more
