She used harsh chemicals on him and left them on too long, which burned and irritated his skin. On top of that, she aggressively scratched him with deshedding tools, leaving him raw and in pain. Within 24 hours, my sweet happy and energetic dog became lethargic and very unwell, barely able to move and not eating or drinking. We had to rush him to the emergency vet, where we were told that his rash and sickness were caused by contaminated grooming tools and/or the harsh deshedding products that were left on him. I asked all the questions and double checked that there was nothing else that could have caused this and he doubled down on the groomer causing this harm. Hearing this from a medical professional broke my heart -- my dog suffered because of carelessness and disregard. No pet owner and more importantly no pet should ever have to go through what we did. I entrusted Helen with the health and safety of my dog, and instead, he was harmed and traumatized. Please think twice before allowing Helen to touch your dog. Our pets deserve gentle, safe, and compassionate care -- not to be put at risk. It's not the cheapest option, but it is worth every penny. We have a puppy with tons of energy, so we take her to daycare almost every day. She loves it, and I honestly think they love her just as much. And they post pictures of all the pups on Facebook, which is really nice cause then we get to see her having fun while we're at work! Our puppy got injured while she was playing one day, and they immediately isolated her, covered up the wound, and called me. They even offered to take her to the vet for me if I wasn't able to leave work. Plus, they double checked all of the other dogs to make sure none of their nails were too long, so the same thing wouldn't happen again. When I took her to the vet, they said they did the same thing the vet would have done, which really amazed me. I found out later that they have pet first aid and CPR training, so they are really prepared for this sort of thing. They were even kind enough to put her in private day boarding for the normal daycare rate while she was healing, which is further proof of their excellent customer service. It's possible I'm biased because I have an extremely cute and well behaved puppy who everyone loves, but I really do think this is an excellent establishment full of people who are enthusiastic about their jobs and who do everything they can to offer a great service.
