Overall a very bad experience at petsmart grooming. We paid for the bath, deShedding shampoo & solution, nail trim, ear cleaning, extra brushing with FURminator, and nail grinding. After 4 hours, our dog came back looking much the same except for being wet. Fur was full of dirt and dry skin. Shedding everywhere. We brushed her after getting back home and pulled at least 2 pints of loose hair off. Nails were very jagged and rough. On top of all that, the price was higher when paying than what was advertised online when booking. I called to voice my concerns, they said a manger would call back right away, but never did... we will not be coming back. read more

How are they feeding our pets the correct amount if they keep losing the scoops? I called PetSmart this morning to make sure they offered good options and the gentleman over the phone agreed that a beta fish was a good choice for a child's first one and that I could walk in any time today to pick one up. This is solely for the pet grooming department. I have NEVER had as many issues as I have here. We scheduled with Matt or Mark? I don't remember his name. When we first brought our dog in, they accidentally cut his ear and he was taken to the Banfield next door. At first, we were told by the grooming department that a scan had fallen off or something. Banfield ended up telling us that it was cut during grooming. They couldn't finish his appointment because they had to glue the cut shut, so we had to get him rescheduled. When we called to reschedule, we asked to be scheduled for 12:30pm. Again, we spoke with the same person who cut our dog's ear but he acted like he completely forgot. He asked what breed my dog was and seemed confused when we said his ear was still healing. Then we get a call the day before the appointment saying it was for 10:30am. When we showed up, they said they couldn't take him because it was for 10:15am. I'm sorry but how can you be this disorganized? I called and expressed my frustration as to why they couldn't take him when they messed up the appointment. They were the ones that hurt my dog in the first place and then they can't even get the second appointment correct. I didn't want a discount. I didn't want a free appointment. I just wanted my dog groomed. I am completely disappointed with this place and will never take my dog back. read more

Well first of all the staff sucks. Their group of friends was visiting them at work, which was fine until the visitors started verbally harassing me and following me around the store, then the person I was with and I proceeded to wait behind these people (who had just followed me around and verbally harassed me) for a couple minutes until I said very loudly "can we check out?" Because I know we would've been waiting there another 10 minutes had I of not. Then, the group who had ALREADY followed me and verbally harassed started doing it AGAIN! And their friends/employee/manager did nothing but watch and giggle at me. For everyone who wants to come to this location, get ready to be followed around, verbally harassed, then laughed at by employees and management alike. For reference, I was there Tuesday, June 10th around 7:30ish to 7:45. There was a female (white/latina) employee with long black hair and a young male (black) with glasses and short hair. We use the "pet hotel" to day board our pandemic codependent dog. The check in and check out process is slow. We drive out of our way and expect the service to improve but it never does. If you board here, expect the process to take at least 15 minutes in and out. read more

I just went in to buy fish food and noticed the poor condition so many of their betta fish are in. Dirty, murky water and most of them look diseased. My fear is that they are going to just throw the fish out inside of changing the water and making them better. Please please do something about the condition of these bettas. We've used this PetSmart for training, boarding, and grooming and recommend almost all of their services. Training: Trainer Zi is THE BEST! She truly loves all the dogs and even when not in class will come say hello and check in with you if she sees you in the store. Our dogs have learned so much in her classes. Grooming: the groomers do a great and fast job but it's so hard to get an appointment. They book out weeks in advance so call ahead of time. Daycare / Boarding: Our dogs love their hotel program and the themed daycare opportunities with pictures and puppy ice creams. Banfield: This Banfield is the only downside of this location. The receptionists seem like they don't want to be there and take forever to get back to you on medications and questions about your dog. Do not recommend. read more

The WORST Petsmart in the entire Dallas TX. Honestly this place deserves 0 stars! I've been to so many PetSmart's but this is easily the worst one. The first red flag, Was when my husband called to ask if they had the Arcadia UV Fixture for Bearded Dragons the manager or assistant manager who answered the phone her name is either Sydney or Cindy ( Short Hispanic Lady, has long black hair ) she literally told us she would check to see if they had any in stock and then hung up on us and when we called back twice she didn't answer. So we came to the store because it was obviously an emergency and we needed a new UV for our reptile. She saw us walk in with the fixture in our hand & she hid in the back until a worker called her on the walkie for assistance. Literal clown behavior. Not to mention the worst part, that I can't even begin to explain the reptiles enclosure was the filthiest thing I've ever seen in my life like I said we been to so many PetSmarts and never saw this before. Bearded dragons had so much filth & feces in their tank that clearly has not been cleaned in over 2 weeks. They had feces in their water bowl and worst of all one of the bearded dragons literally ate his own feces because he was so hungry since they left them with no FOOD at all and the poor thing was starving and ate its own shit. I have literal videos and pictures. My heart broke! Ima report them and escalate this matter cus I need them to be sued for animal NEGLECT & ABUSE. Evil people like yall shouldn't have animals in your procession if you claim to care for pets then do your job which is literally the bare minimum. Clean there shit & supply them with food & water. The karma & repercussions that ya will face will be never ending for this cruel behavior. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR PET IN THEIR CARE!!!!!! They could have killed our dog!! We boarded our dog for three days with them, we got the highest package possible and requested daycare during the day while he was there for all days. We requested an exit bath and told them we would get him at 6:30pm. We sent him with his medicine which had the DIRECTIONS on the bottle and on top of that I personally spoke to an employee- his name is Daniel, letting them know the dose and wrote it down for them. When we picked up our dog- 1. He had been in his kennel all day and no daycare. 2. He was not ready or bathed and they did a super quick less than five minute "bath"- no. More like a rinse off and he came out wet and smelling. 3. They mis administered medicine to him!! They had been giving him the WRONG DOSE of medicine!!!! He was completely lethargic and depressed and will be for multiple days. They doubled his dose of meds and the entire time he was there and when we picked up he was extremely lethargic we had to contact his vet immediately. This is so dangerous!! He could have died from their carelessness and poor training and just unacceptable behavior to him! The assistant manager Chris said he would contact the pets hotel leader Jasmine and that she would be calling us first thing the next morning. Guess what... no call! I had to keep calling them and still never spoke to her. She emailed my boyfriend after he left a survey of the extremely awful and traumatic experience and simply apologized for our bad experience. She didn't offer a refund, she didn't offer training to the incompetent person that had given my dog the wrong medicine, she didn't say she was going to make sure this didn't happen again...They could have KILLED OUR DOG! I have pictures and videos of how lethargic and depressed our dog has been and it's heartbreaking to see him in this state, the videos won't upload but I added a pic. Please I'm begging you do not leave your dog with these people!!! He smelled like pee on top of everything and I doubt he had been taken out all day. I spoke to Daniel a few days later and he had NO remorse at all about what he did. Offered no apology.. was not talked to by a supervisor. Absolutely no penalty for this mistake! 7/6/22 Many thanks to Cris and the grooming team at PetSmart on Greenville for the loving attention they gave to my senior furbaby today, and for keeping me updated on his progress during his visit. I took my Shih Tzu, Gizmo, in for his first full grooming at the Greenville Ave. PetSmart since the pandemic shutdown in 2020. During the shutdown/pandemic stretch, I started using a groomer that came to my house, but had to cancel that service for reasons unimportant here. Cris was the groomer who checked us in and handled Gizmo's grooming. Cris's initial check of Gizmo and consultation with me about what I wanted was thorough and helpful. While I was running errands with my other furbaby, I got a call from Cris about an issue with Gizmo and how he was resolving it--by changing to a bath and brush--since he was too worried he might hurt Gizmo if he continued trying to do the full trim. Gizmo has arthritis and other physical problems. I already knew he could be a huge problem, since he refuses to stand up during grooming. I agreed to the change. Later, Cris contacted me again and said his supervisor had come in to check on Gizmo, and that they together were able to fully groom Gizmo after all. I sincerely appreciate the way they handled Gizmo and kept in touch with me. He looks great, and clearly has no trauma from his visit today. Just exhausted--but he usually is! Haha! This is one of my favorite Petsmarts because it has an inhouse Petshotel and the Banfield Pet Hosptial which is probably the best investment you can ever make for your pets. ($30 per pet per month). The staff here are usually pretty friendly and the store is clean. I also like the fact that it has enough space to move around even with a pet. Sometimes the aisles are so small in these places you can't walk with your dog. They also have those readily stocked "mess stops" in almost every aisle so if the puppies get too excited we're able to clean up. I already did a review for Banfield but I can definitely tell you that they offer incredible service and really care about your pets and make things AFFORDABLE. The Petshotel and the grooming area are a little less affordable, but the Petshotel is really the only kennel place we trust to take care of our dogs well. They really spoil the pets when they're there, and that's how we like it! read more

January 26 took my baby for a grooming appointment/ all I wanted was a simple bath for him.. 30 minutes after dropping him off I get a call from this lady CRYING telling me she was sorry. My dog had a "v" cut shape on his leg and was bleeding bad, "skin was hanging" as they said, & they had put sutures on his leg. Spoke with the pet hospital lady's and they were mostly rude & wouldn't understand my situation or put themselves in my shoes as to what happened. (Keep in mind when I brought my dog to them, he had no type of cuts on him).Nobody wants to take their dogs somewhere and get them back with sutures on them. On top of that, they DIDNT EVEN BATHE my dog. Apparently they "have no idea" how "HE" could've cut himself. & "apparently " he was closed up in a cage and they said "maybe something inside the cage cut him" & they also had the nerve to tell me "he probably bit himself". I know my dog, if he had that problem,this wouldn't be anything new. Nobody wanted or even took responsibility for what happened. Spoke to the manager Paul, he clearly said he was going to check the cameras & "find out" what caused my dogs cut on his leg, weeks passed by & he NEVER told me what caused it,or WHO did it. Because when I got to the store that day to pick up my dog, I asked to speak with the lady who called me apologizing and they didn't allow me too. My question is why? If she didn't do anything to my dog,why wasn't I allowed to speak to her? Obviously they're all going to cover for each other. The pet doctor lady's gave me attitude and had the nerve to tell me "if it's about the money,calm down we are paying for everything" said it in a sarcastic disrespectful manner. It's never about the money,it's about the pain my dog went thru, the pain HE FELT. Long story short, the "medication" they gave me at PetSmart for my dogs injury that THEY CAUSED wasn't helpful. The reason why I know this, and why I can confirm is because I decided to take my dog to his personal VET & they even asked and questioned me about everything. I explained, they called me back and told me I had made a better choice by taking him to them (actual vet) because the cut was never healing, it was red, swollen, and they even told me " Its weird how he has a cut of that kind on his leg, & sutures on his leg as well". I'm sure someone cut my dog at PetSmart or another dog bit him,but Paul the manger NEVER told me what caused the problem or who did it, & they still had the nerve to get upset because instead of going to them to get the sutures removed off my dogs leg, I took him to his actual vet instead. Don't waste your time going to this store, they don't solve your problems, they don't take care of your pets, and they're disrespectful . I should've sue them, the only reason why I didn't is because god sees everything, & they will pay soon for what they did to my dog. Keep in mind, I went up there to talk to them after the incident in a respectful manner. & our personal vets told us multiple times the cut my dog had and the way he had it was STRANGE. And they understood me better than the worthless workers at PetSmart . Even if PetSmart "paid" for everything,they didn't help at the end, my vet provided me with BETTER and useful meds for my dog, and more than just one, after taking my dog with his vet, his cut healed in less than a week or two. If it wouldn't have been for my dogs vet, my dog would probably still be in pain right now. Thanks to my dogs vet!! I adopted my pet from a shelter, when I met him you could tell he was mistreated in the past,he was scared of everything it took me forever to get my dog to be comfortable with me,after this incident, we had to restart from 0 again. Just because a dog is adopted from a shelter doesn't mean you guys get to mistreat him or just leave him there and not keep an eye out for him,be better!! & at the end of the day I hope you guys realize it wasn't about the money, I wasted so much on taking him to the vet but it was very well worth spending for. Boarded my puppy for 4 days 3 nights, I have boarded with them in the past for 1 night at a time but this stay took the cake. When I picked my puppy up he was extremely scared and flenching when I went to pet him. Also I'm assuming they placed a bark/shock collar on him because he hasn't barked in 3 days now. Usually when he needs to go out, he will sit by the back door and bark to get our attention. I noticed he was sitting at the back door, went to let him out and he was SHAKING uncontrollably. When the doorbell rings he usually barks, but he hasn't barked at the door since being home. When outside he barks at the next door neighbors dog through the fence, hasn't done this since being home. My puppy is trained to sit, lay, roll, and speak. When I realized he hadn't barked in days I got treats and started going though his commands and sure enough when I got to speak he made a faint wine and turned his head like he was terrified to bark. It really pains me to type this cause I can't imagine what exactly he went through while in their care. I'm (not) seeing spots... I've been taking my 4 year old chihuahua to PetSmart for the past 6 months for grooming. I feel like the groomers do a great job, with bonus points for their attention to her nails. Here's the twist...after the first appointment, I noticed her brown markings had a couple of white spots in them. Several weeks after the second grooming, those spots grew fading out the what was once brown to salt and pepper markings. 3.5 years, numerous baths, and she was always the same. No change in color up until our first encounter there. Worried, I took her to the vet searching for answers, leaving with a vague list of maybes including a possible allergic reaction to rubber products like gloves or grooming tools....but it might be stress as well. A couple of weeks ago, I took her a third time, ruling out that the grooming had anything to do with what was going on. She is now white. WTF? Each time I took her, within a week, her markings increasingly vanished. I'm told now, that she has lost the pigment in these areas, making her sensitive to the sun. Sigh. I called the store to revisit the possibility that they were using something that may be playing into her condition. The groomer I spoke with was abrupt, quickly telling me to consult a vet. (Which I've already done). Rude and sidestepping any possible liability. I hung up feeling unheard and frustrated. Will I go again? I may be exploring other options. I really have no idea what's going on, but it's very suspicious and coincidental. The groomer's dismissive lack of interest left me less than eager to dash back. read more

WARNING .. stop taking your pet to be groomed here.! After reading the reviews after our horrible experience makes me so much more upset that I didn't not look before-hand. I was so thrilled that they could work my dog in on a Saturday and asked if I could just drop him off due to having a meeting, they said YES, even better I thought.. WRONG!! I arrived and got our dog back to the grooming department.. a different lady checked us in then who I made the appointment, she was irritated I was early and that I would be leaving him and tried to tell me I couldn't.. but the lady I made an appointment with spoke up and told me it was okay.. I was pleased at this point. About 15min after I left the nightmare began. I got a phone call as I was about to step in my meeting that they rushed the dog to the Banfield Vet because our dog threw up blood and couldn't breathe.. I was in complete shock, he's young and had been to the vet the prior week with a NO health issues at all and I've never had issues with him. I canceled my meeting and flew up there. When I arrived the vet came out and spoke with me.. I really have no complaints with the VET .. she was very nice and informative and I do believe she did her best.. When I got to see him.. his eyes where blood shot, his tongue had lost most coloring and he was on oxygen.. the VET thought it was an infection etc. His airways were swollen.. I knew he wasn't sick. Took him home and monitored him very closely about 2hrs later he was acting much more normal. Another medical person looked at him the following day and the only thing that can seems plausible is that someone drug him by a leash/collar as he had a welp and hot spot develop that was not there upon dropping him off. We never use a collar on him as he doesn't do well with them. read more

I will never use this Petsmart Hotel again. Upon dropping my dog off I was told to leave her bed and bag at the front desk and they would "get to it". When I picked her up they brought out the wrong bed. The one she had been sleeping on was disgusting and full of fleas. They eventually came out and said they lost her bed. My dog had sores behind her ears and on her belly from scratching from the disgusting bed they had her sleeping on. She was not bathed and smelled terrible,the items I left in her bag were untouched. We should be available to see what conditions our dogs will be living in before we leave them in petsmart's care. read more

I have had a love hate relationship with PetSmart for many years now. My recent few trips to this specific PetSmart has given me a better experience solely based on their retail customer service. I have used the grooming services and I don't recommend them at all. They all work independently and if you go to one, they don't keep record of your pets shot records or even the last haircut you got. For 2014, this seems extremely behind in technology and service, especially for a chain. Secondly, I have never received the same type of grooming service twice in a row. I have a Cairn Terrier and. Blue Heeler/Border Collie mix. My Cairn Terrier has to get her hair groomed often and based on her last grooming at PetSmart, she now hates it. They unevenly cut and burned her. The other bad thing about grooming is that there is high turn over, I was never able to get the groomer I liked because they wouldn't be there when I would come back. The Pet Hotel isn't very impressive either. Neither one of my dogs would ever sleep while they were here and they were always cooped up in their kennel. They are extremely overpriced for what they offer. The only reason why I am giving PetSmart 3 stars is because of my recent retail experience. I had to return something today and I had the electronic receipt via email. They didn't give me a hard time or ask me several reasons why I was returning the item. It was returned and I left probably within 3 minutes. I truly think PetSmart should stick to selling pet retail items, they seem to have that down. read more

I only come here if I absolutely have to. So normally that means Im out of my dogs vitamins. Mind you I buy them in bulk so I don't have to come here often. Parking is horrible!! The parking spots are made for compact cars. I have a small sedan and its even a tight fit for my car. The staff isn't too bright or knowledgeable about the products so your best bet is to google what you need before or google it while you're standing there in the store. The staff can help you find an item but about 1/10 can actually explain the product to you in detail. Very rarely do they know whats in the food products, source, etc. Again, google rather than ask. Prices are a little high, but if you get the "Pet perks" card then it kicks them down to about average price. Certain things you can actually get cheaper online or at your local grocery store depending on what it is. Overall this is an average place. They keep it decently clean and are quick to clean up most accidents. read more

I luv PetSmart!! The store , the Day Camp and the grooming facility. The Store a on Greenville has really won me over. Started with Basic Training, which my Puppy really enjoyed . Then worked our way to Day Camp. It's been a lifesaver! My Puppy has been going since November 2018 and he is 10 months old now. He gets along great with other dogs and people. The Staff seems very genuine and interested in my Puppy. Because of his breed(Boxer) the groomers do an Express Bath and let me wait for him to finish. The Staff throughout the store is very friendly and helpful. This is a recent update- I enjoy the store on Greenville very much! Once again an incredible staff throughout. Was shopping recently, it's May now and the store was so hot I worried about my puppy (Boxers need cool surroundings) and the employees. It was uncomfortable warm, can't imagine what it would be like in July YIKES. This is not the area of the country to skimp on air conditioning. If I could give less than a 1 star review I would due to the awful service. I scheduled 2 appointments for my dogs at this location. The first to be at 7am and the next to be at 9am - I even received the calls confirming my appointments. I arrived at 7am to find the building wasn't even open due to a "miscommunication" and was asked to come back at 7:30am. When I came back, I waited for a groomer for 15min until someone decided to let me know the salon didn't open until 9am. I asked if I could bring both of my dogs at 9am as I had confirmed appointments, I was told yes that would not be an issue. When I returned at 9am with both of my dogs, I was turned away yet again and told they had no available appointments for at least another week and a half. This is my one-stop shop for my dogs. Not only do I take them to Banflied, the vet within the store, but I come here for about everything I need. They are on a rather natural food diet and this location sells a wide variety of natural pet food labels. Though their prices can be up there, I find it worth it since I don't have to go to multiple locations. I have used their grooming services to have my dog bathed, and besides her generally not wanting a bath, she came back to me happy and clean. Friendly staff and clean store, which is surprising since I've seen some owners have their dogs use the restroom on the floor and not clean it up. read more

They wouldn't trim the nails on my 90 pound dog. I get it, he's big, he's strong...but he was not being bad at all! I was watching from the window and he was a little anxious but it was completely manageable! 1. I could tell from the outset of just walking in with my dog, that the lady wasn't feeling it bc she was going to have me pay after it was done. 2. Her and another employee tried for 30 seconds and just gave up. Like, I'd get it if you even put 2-3 minutes into it and it wasn't working. But just 30 seconds?? 3. When she was explaining why she couldn't do it, part of her reasoning was that she was super backed up on appointments. BRUH. Like, that is not an acceptable reason to just deny a dog's appointment after the appointment was accepted over the phone 24 hours before by your team. 4. On the way out there was smeared dog poop in the middle of the store. This petsmart SUCKS. read more

I have worked customer service for years; in fact, it was my job as a certified trainer not only to instruct new hires and other employees how to interact with customers, but to also intervene with unhappy customers to improve the situation and leave them satisfied. Therefore, I expect PetSmart to listen to customers when they complain, and then address the issue so it never happens again. I know what customer service should look like and what is and is not appropriate for an employee to tell a customer. Instead, there is an employee who has frequently made me, and I'm sure other customers, extremely uncomfortable. This employee has referred to me as the incorrect gender multiple times, on various visits, despite being corrected numerous times. When I answered that the person on my account, Patty, was my mom, and what my name is, he stated that I looked "more like a patty". His repetitive necessity to degrade me is extremely unprofessional and reflects horribly on PetSmart. Why does this employee feel as though their personal opinion is appropriate when his sole job is to check me out and send me on my way? Upon the first correction of my gender, he should have apologized and adjusted. I am a frequent customer at this location, and yet I'm considering switching franchises all together because I feel unwelcome at this location. This employee makes me feel unsafe. There was a time that the same employee badgered me to purchase a product I was reluctant to try due to fear of how it would affect my fish. His repetitive insisting made me purchase it, and to my worst expectations every single one of my fish died. I received no compensation for this loss and had to restart, left with tears in my eyes and a burning hole in my wallet. I was forced to come back to the same location to start fresh, where the same employee again misgendered me. Salt in the wound. The employee I am discussing, to make matters worse, is the manager. I don't know his name but he is slightly balding. This is not a hit at his looks, just the only identifying thing about him I can recall. I am hoping that Pet Smart will provide their team with sensitivity training, what is an is not appropriate to say to customers, and if the manager refuses to turn over a new leaf, that he will be fired. If he is willing to admit his wrong and work to improve that, I don't have a bitter heart to just hope he is fired. But do something about his behavior because I'm sure there's plenty of other areas where he is out of line. read more

Although customer service was lacking this trip, it usually isn't this bad. Shelves are stocked, but could not find my Blue Jays' favorite sunflower seeds or the Downy Woodpeckers' favorite suet. Thus just walked and looked around. Wish I had regular hours to have a dog or a couple of cats as there are some cool items for them. Quite a few great nutritional items for dogs and cats. I didn't see any fish that excited me. read more

I don't usually come to this petsmart since it's a little far from my house, but on the given occasion when I do come in, something always happens and then I remember why I don't like this location very much. My mom and I were hanging out by the area, we've just had dinner at Kereje's up the street (BTW lovely Ethiopian cuisine! ) and soon after, I remembered I needed to get some aquarium salt for my fish. After looking around for my salt, I decided to buy some new live plants and after looking around to see which one I wanted, the sales associate in the fish department was nowhere to be found! We waited for several minutes or so until she finally appeared and so I asked her if I could get a live plant, but after asking her if I could Inspect the plant ( I had to make sure it didn't have any snails or things attached to the roots) , she got irritated and said "fine" in a very rude tone. I don't usually like to write bad reviews, but this time, the service was awful! I'd really appreciate if you guys at petsmart would work on your attitudes towards your costumers.
