PET OWNERS BEWARE!!!! My dog eats a very specific kind of dog food in the refrigerated section. The only two bags they had available were off colored and one had white fuzz growing in it and was green. I asked the gal how often they check the refrigerated stuff and she told me every day, when I asked her how she missed this, she just said "oh they both can off the truck today." That leads me to believe that if they just came off the truck today then she stocked a nasty bag of dog food into the refrigerated section not caring! I opted to buy neither bag of dog food and will never come back here again! read more

What came first, the chicken or the egg? We have been feeding our dog a specific Royal Cannin product that we had been buying from one of two PetSmarts. Well over the last year or more we were not finding the same particular product, so I started to go by both of them lately with more frequency, over three weeks. Same story from both stores. Corporate orders and the Truck will be here on Tuesday. Still no product! I can tell you why. They order what they have sold to replenish their stock. Pretty much standard business practice, that is if there was any on the shelf when they checked, So none on the shelf none gets ordered. Then you lose customer! read more

I was contacted by the manager of the grooming dept and she was VERY understanding and asked me what I was displeased with. After giving her an explanation she told me to bring my dog back in and she would give her the bath herself, which I thought was VERY nice! Unfortunately she was going to be out of town the day I was able to come in, but there was a really nice girl there that gave my dog her bath and she did a good job. Terrible, terrible, terrible! When we received our pup back after a two day stay at the pet hotel, our baby was sticky, was dirty, and looked like he hadn't slept. When we got home her drank so much water as if he hadn't had any in so long. Ever since staying there, our baby has been having nightmares. It's been a week and his nightmares continue. Been coming here for a while, not sure how to rate them since I have used all services here. So lets rate them all... Banfield: I rate them a 3- only because I really love my dog and I think the Vets (well one of them, not going to name her) think I'm crazy because I treat my dog like a human and want to know everything about my dog's wellbeing... I was not happy here so I now go to the Beltline (Addison) Banfield and see any random Vet they have on staff... Petsmart Store: I rate them a 5, because everything is always stocked and staff is very dog-friendly and are nice to the humans too. Boarding: I rate them a 3, because when I picked up my little guy he really cried, maybe it's just him but I swear he didn't like his stay. It was for one day boarding too!! I was surprised on how upset he was. I'm sure they took care of him (that's why I brought him here). Wish they had real grass, although most places don't have the real deal...If you add up boarding, camp, and a treat, it all comes up to about $50... For this price, rather do home sitting and my dog isn't terrified. But many dogs seemed to like it here, especially the small dogs that get the cool room and not that sad half empty room... at least they have a camera but still... read more

We decided to give this PetSmart one more try, assuming they couldn't reach that level of incompetence twice - we were wrong. This time, not only did they have our appointment recorded wrong (for a day we're both at work and certainly wouldn't have scheduled something), they demanded that we PAY for the "missed" appointment that they had recorded wrong, and argued with my husband, insisting that the fault must be on our end. Every time I go in to buy something, there is no one at the front desk and I have to hunt them down like I am looking for Pokemon! I've brought my dogs to this location twice to stay at the pet hotel. The first time was just for the day but the second time was over night. Both times the staff was very friendly and excited to see our dogs. It makes me feel good that we have a safe place to take our dogs when traveling to Dallas. They seem happy and healthy when we pick them up and that's what matters. I appreciate the kindness from the staff and we will use this location again in the future. read more

They are quick, affordable and my son loves them--who cares that he has 4 legs and a tail. Sebastian was due for his shots and he had gotten them that morning but they called before my appointment informed me that he needed to wait at least 48 hours before he could get groomed. Just keep asking different people until you can find what you need. 3 just pointed on or gave me the aisle and finally I found the one who knew exactly what was in the department. I assume the others had only a cursory knowledge of dog products. Despite my wandering lost, none of the others noticed I still hadn't found the $100.00 plus product I was searching for. At checkout the cashier ask if I had found everything! Still I didn't have to wait for delivery. This rating is for the grooming dept. My mom is elderly and suffers from dementia so I often go to Dallas to check on her and her dog. Sometimes the dog is in bad shape with mats, long nails...etc. Because of time constraints, I have to find a place that can take him on short notice and Petsmart usually comes through. I am careful to watch the groomers and appreciate that there are windows so we can view how our babies are treated. ALL of the groomers seem so loving and nurturing and they do an excellent job with my mom's dog. Last week, (Terry?) stayed an hour after his shift just to work on our dog. He was so cute and sweet and kept calling our dog "your baby". He gets it. LOVE these groomers!!!! read more

We had our puppy bathed and toenails clipped. Our puppy looked so nice and fluffy when we picked him up and smelled so good! I must say that if you want to get your dog groomed there be prepared to walk in and wait forever (even with an appointment) and it seems a little unorganized and chaotic. I will be finding other places to take my dogs... where to start. My main reason for my 1 star rating is my recent experience with the daycare. My dogs have never had problems getting along in a play area. They are very social dogs. I started bringing them in January to daycare and Jackson was put in "time-out" a couple of times because he was showing aggression. This was very surprising to me since I've never had a single problem with him anywhere else. While I was on vacation my mom took them to daycare. When she picked them up she was told that he had been in confinement ALL DAY for lunging at a dog. I was extremely irritated that I didn't get a phone call about something that serious (nor did my mother). Instead they put him in a crate (which creates stress for him even more). My older one is slightly leash aggressive so I'm always very careful to have his leash off if he's being introduced to other dogs. I have a feeling that this incident happened because they tried to take him into the area without removing the leash (which is the norm at other daycares). When I called to discuss this with the lady I asked, very politely and clearly told her I was not asking to say it was their fault, if she thought that there was something about the environment there that was stressing him out. She was very defensive and basically told me that my dog was not well trained and therefore couldn't be put with the other dogs anymore and that I should "try one of the other less busy Petsmart locations". If you know dogs and are familiar with behavior you know that sometimes an environment just doesn't work with a dog... That just showed me that they don't really care about taking the time to work with the animals. They put all the dogs in the same area, not really paying attention to temperament. Luckily I found another daycare and the dogs are doing absolutely amazing there. I went in and they suggested I take a tour then the pups did a meet and greet (where I got to watch). They love it and I can tell they are so much happier (and worn out) when I pick them up!! So.... my dog is just fine, he just didn't like the chain-link fences and confined spaces (the play areas are very small for the number of dogs they try to put in there I think). The people at Banfield are all very nice. I haven't had a bad experience with customer service HOWEVER, it's over-priced. The wellness plan is not really worth it in my opinion. As a new dog owner a number of years ago I wanted to make sure my pup was taken care of in every way so this seemed like a good option. Talking with different dog owners now I can see how much more I've been paying for nothing. read more

We use petsmart primarily for our grooming and trusted the petsmart brand. I did research for the petsmart in dallas who would do a good job. Not all are created equal.Took her in early and was told it was ok cause groomer came on in 30 mins and she could start. Explained that she had slight injury to foot and they marked intake form and highlighted. 6.5 hours later, she is still on table. Observed from afar and she was very agitated. There were two groomers with her and they were doing the job. She was cut shorter than I wanted, unaware to injury to foot, and she has a bruised trachea and has been coughing from pulling against lead. I heard nothing but excuses. read more

I called before heading that way and Kaci in groomers told me they could absolutely clip his claws as long as I came before 6pm. I put my cat in his crate to head that way (which any cat staff knows is no fun experience) across town and they tell me they won't clip his claws because the person that does it is not there. Kaci was very apologetic and I appreciated that, but i think Kaci should have figured out a way to apologize to my cat who was freaking out in his crate for the past half hour. Did I stress my cat out for no reason? As I'm shopping around to get him some toys, the manager tells me they'll make an exception for my situation. Wait a minute, if someone legitimate was there who could clip him, why was I told away in the first place? I soon found myself confined away from my cat because they say, if i'm there it will stress him out..? PetSmart, what are you hiding? This sounds sketchy. Then, when I get home one of the toys - a laser pointer is defective. It was really just one thing after another that didn't go right here. Allow me to list for you in bulletpoints the times I was refused decent customer service just during this very brief trip to PetSmart. The staff here had more than enough opportunity to redeem themselves. 1. NO. we will not do your cats clippings (even after you called to make sure we will) 2. NO. I will not call other pet groomers to assist you in finding someone who will take care of your pet. 3. NO I cannot watch your crate while you shop around. 4. NO. You may not take your kitty into a private area to play with him, even though you've made it clear that he needs affection after suffering from crate anxiety. 5. NO. you may not come into the "back area" where we do the claw clippings 6. NO. You may not use the calming spray we just sold to you before putting your cat back in his crate after said "back area" clippings. read more

Petsmart is good to go to for dog accessories and fish tanks. :) By dog accessories I mean collars, leashes, carriers, toys, potty pads. They don't carry the kind of food Dupree eats (he get's the GOOD stuff), but I go here for accessories quite a bit. I usually get my dog groomed by me in Frisco, and they do a pretty good job, but they don't groom cats, So i took both my animals to the Forest and Inwood location. My cat used to see Gina who was amazing, but she recently relocated and told me to ask for the manager Heather who also groomed cats. Lets just start by saying that I was very specific that I wanted a Lion cut, and I wanted a FULL lion cut, down onto his chest and back on his shoulders. When I picked him up and saw him I couldn't even believe that she cut around his neck. She didn't listen to me AT ALL, and further more his mane isn't even. In his "pawgress" report she stated that she had to use scissors because he was afraid of the clippers. I have never had anyone tell me that, EVER. If you're the manager, you should know what the hell you are doing. Also, don't use your shears if you can't use them properly and make his mane even. One side is noticeably longer than the other. Poor guy. Onto my yorkie. The girl brought him out with half of his face wet, looked at me and said, He was playing in his water. I just paid 60 dollars for you to groom him and give him to me DRY, not half wet. figure it out. Needless to say this place is ridiculous and the customer service is horrible. I won't give up on petsmarts all together, but i definitely won't be returning to this one, ever. read more

Today was the first time I had put my dog, Daisy, in any kind of Puppy Day Camp. We were both apprehensive when I dropped her off early in the morning, the staff forcibly dragging Daisy away as I went to work did not ease my nerves and apprehensions in the least. All in all, the drop off/pick up routine was simple, the pricing was even decent and fair! Daisy seemed happy but tired in the car ride home. It wasn't until a few hours later, when we were both hanging out on the couch, I noticed a flea on her. Then another one. Then another one. And before I knew it, I had four fleas pinched in between two fingers on each hand (for those not mathematically adept, that is 8 fleas) which was very surprising as she did not have any before I had dropped her off at day camp. I rushed her to an extensive flea bath where more and more jumped off poor Daisy, even more after the bath too! I lost track after flea #15, although I am fairly certain the count is closer to 20. She is a small, 11 lb dog, and it was absolutely astounding the size of these fleas I found on her! IF THAT WASN'T ENOUGH, Daisy also had a scar right above one of her ears, NOT THERE BEFORE TODAY! I understand that things happen when dogs are stressed or put in new, uncomfortable situations with other strange dogs. That being said, as a general courtesy, owners need to be informed of any mishaps that happen to their pet while in the care of someone else (Petsmart). Nothing was said during pick up, I had to ask how she did and received a simple "Oh, she was good" response. Daisy usually gets her nails done at Grooming and they usually do a pretty good job. However, after today's experience we will not be contributing to Petsmarts' business anymore. read more

This is the best location. They have the most friendliest crew. One in particular is Terry Houston! He understands what customer service is supposed to be. He was very personable, and put me and my dogs needs before himself. I was very knowledgable about the services and just went the extra mile. Definitely recommend this location and Terry Houston should get a raise because he does his job well. read more

So I live in uptown Dallas and I wanted to know which PetsMart in the area is the best because not all are created equal. The one on Greenville had worse reviews than this one on Inwood so obviously I decided it was worth the drive for my pup. Right as you drive up the shoddy exterior of the building should be your first warning. One of the workers met me at the front counter, but not before yelling across the room at the manger that she needed to talk to her later. The place smelt terrible but it's a pet store and you expect that. They asked for his shot records and took him back. I ordered the basic wash plus the Top Dog Plus package. I returned an hour later to pick him up because that's what they said it would take online. The lady rudely informed me that all services take 3-4 hours. So I leave and get a text 15 min later that he is ready.... quite annoying. Once I picked him up he didn't have a bandanna on which was a slight disappointment. He did smell good and looked clean so they at least deserve 3 stars but the customer service is not up to par. read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS TO PETSMART!!! I took my Rocco to doggie day care and they slammed his head in the door...and his eye popped out...they rushed him to the vet, a "licensed veterinarian", at the banfield there and instead of pushing is eye back in (which I even knew because I googled it when I first got my pup incase this ever happened..no vet school here) she let him lay on the table for OVER AND HOUR and when she finally did push it back in it was too late, the nerve damage was done....you see I adopted my pup with only one eye ...I don't know what happened to the other one but he was able to see out of it..now he is BLIND and petsmart never took any responsibility for what had happened. Roccos accident happened at the INWOOD AND FOREST location. Do not trust them..I thought it was a great and cheap place to take my dog and it was the biggest mistake I've ever made. I hear people say all the time.."well they are so good with my dog" yes and Rocco was their favorite..everyone loved him..everyone knew him..people In the daycare would tell me "if I ever didn't want him..they would take him" the customer service was awesome...until they turned their back on "their favorite dog". I understand it was a corporate thing..but you could have some compassion.. Also..I had the "pet insurance" and they wouldn't let me out of my contract said it wasn't their problem..so here I am having to pay $59 a month to this company who blinded my dog for another 5 months...I hadn't even had my dog for a full year when this happened. BOYCOTT PETSMART tell your friends about these stories word of mouth is powerful! Here are a few more petsmart incidents that they just act like they didn't so any thing wrong: they killed a friend of mines kitten..when she took her to get declawed...and another friend of mine took their dogs over there to board..and they were soo malnourished that they lost half of their body weight and had to be pumped with fluids...another lady took her dog to get a de-shedding treatment and her pups eyes would barley open...took to the vet inside petsmart and they said he had hair in his eyes...they took to an emergency vet and they said he had scratches on his eye from scratching the un-rinsed shampoo that was still in his eye (that one happened at the Greenville location) Ps. It's unfair that I have to even give a stare to write a review..they don't even deserve that. read more

This is an updated review. I posted 2 years ago when I was upset because someone forgot to feed my Knuckles. Hey, the place is run by humans. We make mistakes, and I boarded Knuckles at the last minute, rush rush rush. He didn't starve. But he was killed by a car a few months later, and though my heart still hurts, it is filled with love for Fergus, our Welsh Terrier we got 2 weeks after we lost Knuckles. I can not say enough GREAT things about the boarding at this location. Everyone is so helpful and comforting. I have had to leave Fergus and return to Switzerland where we live, and each time I call, they have detailed info for any questions I ask. They even left a voice mail for me, because of the time difference, saying I could call before opening hours to check on him one day when I was more worried than usual. And I worry a LOT! But this is one thing I do not worry about! Fergus is so happy to get there, and I know that he actually plays, because he's tired when I pick him up. I've left him elsewhere and he was a wild man when I picked him up, obviously having been crated all day. Grrr.. I don't know about the grooming there, but I recommend the store as well as the PetsHotel, because they also are knowledgeable and helpful without being pushy. I'm changing my review to five stars. Thank you, Lauren and team, for being so kind to my fur baby, and so compassionate with me, while I have to be away for him! read more

This was one of the worst experiences of my life - certainly of my dog's life. I left my 7 year old cocker here while I was on a 5 day trip to Mexico. I filled out every form. I let them know my cell phone would not work in Mexico and let them swipe my Amex, writing "one million dollars" in the limit amount for how much I would spend on my dog. I left local friends' phone numbers. When I came back my cocker's right rear leg was swollen four times it's size and she dragged it - could not bear weight. They told me she had accidentally scratched herself on a metal piece on the bed frame they provided and gotten an infection but since they could not contact me they "could not legally treat" my dog. They even told me they'd taken her over to the Banfield vet (she had a Banfield policy) but the vet would not treat her if they couldn't reach me. I took her to another hospital where they saved her leg after 2 weeks on antibiotics and two surgeries to drain the wound. Petsmart Pets Hotel apologized. They said it must have been one of the new employees who did not know to look in the chart to see if I had pre-approved treatment. There was NOTHING else I could have done, but it would only have taken ONE human being with a heart to do the barest of investigations and spare my dog all that pain. read more

This is BY FAR the best PetSmart in Dallas. I have dropped off my dog for an appointment at Banfield two times now and have had great experiences both times. The people at the front desk are very nice, they pay attention to you and your dog's needs. I have been to other PetSmart locations in Dallas and this is by far the best, and the cleanest. read more

I have sent my Yorkie to this location a few times over the past year only in emergencies. She has always been ok when I pick her up, usually around 4:45 pm when all of the dogs are finished with playtime. Today, I arrived earlier than my scheduled pick-up time to see what was going on, a surprise, if you will. I noticed that tiny, tiny, dogs (a chihuahua and a yorkie) were both in the front play area with a number of HUGE 75 lb. plus dogs. My dog was not in this area and it is the only one you can see inside. This didn't seem right to me. I always explain in great detail to he employees that my dog should only be placed with dogs her relative size. I asked a male employee if I could go back to see where my dog was and he promptly said "No, you aren't authorized." I get the rules are rules, but he was acting really strange. My gut said something wasn't right if they wouldn't allow me to see where my dog had spent the day and with what dogs she was grouped. I explained this reasoning to him and got the same answer. Since only 1 of 3 areas is viewable to the public, you can't see what facility or condition your dog is in and they haven't caught on to the webcam trend, I won't be back. If you have a big dog, I wouldn't be as worried, but for the tiny dogs like mine, there are other alternatives as well as more transparent businesses. read more

Unfortunately, I had a horrible experience at this Petsmart. The cashier I had to deal with was rude, cranky, and just sad. At other Petsmart, employees ask if we need help but this cashier did a great job showing her feelings about an online order exchange. She seemed decent with her coworker but I definitely got an attitude as soon as I said "online" and "exchange". Customer service is not for everyone. read more

My dog has stayed in other PetSmart hotels, but this was her first time at the Inwood location and it will be her last. The staff was extremely rude. When I picked her up, they didn't know which room she was in and then argued with me about the pricing, which was more than I was quoted. When they brought her out she was wet and smelled like air freshener. I asked if she had an accident and they said it was from her "water bowl". Not sure how a 50 lb dog swims in a water bowl. When I got her home she drank almost a whole bowl of water (like she hadn't had any in a day), and I'm pretty sure they didn't feed her. I will never take her back to this location and wouldn't recommend it for any pet owner. read more

I took my dog in today and did not have a very good experience. i asked for them to trim my dogs face, paws and genitle areas. When i went to pick my dog us i told her it didnt look like his paws were groomed, and she said that they were and kept working on my total. I then ask her why she only trimmed his butt hole and not around his bottom and she said if she did that she would have to charge me for a full body groom. While i was standing in the room i witnessed 2 girls yelling at the dogs they were grooming, and not being very gentile. After they saw the look on my face she asked for me to step out. She charged me $22.00 for a face trim...It was a waste of time and money, never go there..they are a bunch of young, "thug", girls who are rude and dont care about animals. read more

I boarded my dog at Petsmart for 5 days.. She got an infection there and nearly died. She had to be put on IV to save her. Petsmart refused to pay any of the vet bills. They acted like this is something that happens all the time. I question their sanitation policies. read more
