Honestly i'm very upset because the tags on the hamster case said it was a male and when i got home, a few days later figured out the hamster i got was a female. DO NOT BOOK GROOMING WITH TAYAH. I've been bringing my Goldendoodle to this PetSmart for over 2 years and have always had great experiences - until today. From the moment I arrived, Tayah was rude and unprofessional, making harsh comments about my dog being matted without even touching him. I explained clearly that she could trim as needed if there were any mats, but to leave his face and tail. When she called later, she even admitted he "wasn't as bad as she thought." Yet when I picked him up, his face was completely butchered - easily the worst Goldendoodle haircut I've ever seen. She had shaved awkwardly around his nose but left the sides untouched. As I asked her to fix it, I overheard her joking to the other groomers that this was the "second Goldendoodle she's victimized." As she was fixing it another groomer had to come in to help her as well. I believe she might have been in training, but If that's the case, it should have been disclosed before the appointment - I would never have booked with someone inexperienced for a dog with a difficult coat. The awful haircut was one thing, but her attitude towards me since I walked through the door sealed the deal. I will NEVER return to this PetSmart for grooming again. read more

STORE # 0622 - Unprofessional manager team Last night at 5:36 pm I was in the checkout line and there was an issue with the pos machine. Multiple charges went through and declined. It kept declining my transactions. Finally it went through but after i left, I noticed I was charged twice, at which the male manager also saw there was 512.00 on my card because I showed him. I called the store and a female manager said there is no way the transaction went through and had an extreme attitude treating me like I was incompetent and also talking to me in that manner. The weather was getting bad due to the snowstorm and she said I needed to go back to the store and show her the transactions. I'm almost 50 years old and it was a hustle, but the money was pulled from my account already and I wanted to try and get it back. I went back to the store where I waited patiently while the female manager was checking out the same people that were still there when I previously left 20 minutes prior. i assume there was also an issue. Once she checked them out she never left the register and there was another clerk with braces on the other register. She didnt once come over to me to speak to me away from people, merely was catching an attitude treating me like I was an idiot and didnt understand things. I understood that I was charged twice and I wanted my money back. She was irritated with me and I cannot believe the attitude. She kept saying, "I don't know what to tell you" and turned away from me and checked out another person when she needed to resolve the issue. The store was not busy and the other clerk and manager that could have easily helped with that one customer so she could attend to me away from the customer and workers, but she didn't. She was embarrassing me in front of customers, so I said to her, "I dont appreciate the way you are treating me and talking to me. At that point she stopped what she was doing looked at me and said, "thats how you're gonna talk to me when i'm trying to help you, oh yeah thats how your going to talk to me. It was said in a threatening manner. I was in fear at that point, casue her whole demeaner changed. Then she said okay, okay with a hostile attitude like she was angry. It was quite uncomfortable being she is a manager. I couldn't believe I was being challenged by someone in management. She completely ignored me after that and left me standing there without another word. It was the worth leadership experience I have ever had. She had me go up there just to humiliate me and not help. All I wanted was to get a refund. I asked the female manager her name and she refused to give me her first name. She kept saying she didn't have to give me her name arguing with me. I told her I was going to reach out to her manager to speak on this situation., but again she refused a first name. Not one of the clerks were wearing nametags, both managers as well, so I asked for the managers name above them and they wouldn't give me that information either. The other male manager was right there the entire time watching and listening and finally stepped in and said the money wasn't taken out twice. he showed me the receipt, but my money was still gone from my account. He said to call apple, so I left upset and stressed out, threatened, belittled feeling like nothing was resolved. When I got home I called and the male manager answered. He was sticking up forthe female managers behavior and said he didnt hear anything which was a lie, but he was standing right there and heard the whole conversation. I asked him as a manager if he thought the way she handled that situation was at manager quality. He then started sticking up for her as they are prob. are friends. I relayed to him I needed her name and he said they don't have to give me the full name. I relayed I asked her for her first name and he was condoning her behavior. I never received either of their names, being they refused to give them to me. I told him i will be reaching out to the regional to discuss this matter and he said it sounds like you're threatning me. I relayed to him that it is not a threat that it is a promise I will reach out to his leadership team due to their behaviors. I honestly cannot believe this behavior is acceptable at this store. He then told me to call back and there will be a manager at 9 am at the store if the weather isn't bad. I relayed to him that him and the other manager need coaching in their positions, so customers do not have to feel the way I did when i left that store. I was told to go back to the store just to be treated poorly, feel threatened, and not helped resolve an issue. The quality of the leadership team at this store is not professional and they need to find professional staff that knows how to resolve issues in a kind professional manner not a hostile environment. I ONLY take my dog to this PetSmart location. I almost don't want to say the groomers name because she's so great, and I don't want her to be constantly booked. Ina is the BEST. I live in south Dallas, and I drive 20 minutes just to see her. I have an Aussie/Husky mix who is very furry w/ a long flowy coat. That being said, he has a double coat so he's not an easy trim. Ina is very talented, and her level of skill is second to none. There's really no comparison to anyone else who has ever groomed him. I noticed you have to book her over a week in advance most of the time, but SO worth it. Cannot recommend her enough, 10/10. I attached a photo for example of his *outline* trim. She evens out his coat and trims his paws/stomach/bottom/legs. Just amazing. read more

My wife and I placed our 2 dogs( a rat terrier mix and a shi zu) in for a 7 day stay with grooming . The grooming was scheduled for the day that we picked up our dogs. We filled out ALL the paperwork necessary for their stay including : medication for the rat terrier, vaccinations for each dog, and expected feeding schedules for each dog as they were to be staying in the same area. The paperwork included such items as emergency contacts, my e-mail address, and both our cell phone numbers. Never during the Dogs' stay was any contact made to either myself nor my wife regarding the welfare of either Dog; such as : he/she did not eat the food provided , had loose bowel movements or whether or not each dog was willing to play with the other dogs in the facility. When we picked up our Dogs at approx. 4 p.m. on the final eday of boarding , we were informed that the shi zu had pooped inside her holding cage prior to her grooming and later at our home she vomited some undigested food; this would indicate that the dogs were not fed on the store's normal feeding schedule of 5-6am and 5-6pm. Common Sense would be that since they have so many people idle not doing anything (and Customers are paying close to $100.00 per night for boarding) that someone could maintain a check list regarding how each of the boarded dogs is doing and then e-mail the Dog's owner regarding his/her well being. read more

I sent my dog to get a haircut and he came back shaved. We were told he had mats (he always has them and they they always come out just fine) and they would need to come down a bit more in length. This was after I asked them SPECIFICALLY to keep him looking fluffy, showed pictures, videos, and left detailed notes. On the phone I was told they would "blend him out". The result is an EXTREMELY patchy looking almost completely shaved dog. He looks terrible, this is the worst haircut he has ever had. And the kicker is, his matting most likely came from the two weeks that he spend staying at the daycare in this Petsmart beforehand. I am so incredibly disappointed and my dog is so uncomfortable and itchy and I would literally never trust a single person with him again. I honestly feel like this was done maliciously and on purpose. His face hair isn't even even! Never again. Wherever people here get trained on customer service and setting clear expectations, it has failed them and has failed me as a customer. read more

This is a review for dog training only. I enrolled our 2 year old rescue pup in basic obedience in anticipation of having her tested to be registered as a therapy pet. She is sweet and mellow, and not a behavior problem at all, but had to know basic commands to pass part of the test. The in-house trainer, Joan Sparks, is great! She is knowledgeable, friendly, tolerant and fun. When we had an aggressive dog in the class, she took care of it. When we wanted Mother's Day off, she adjusted the class schedule. She was always on point in training, but not in a pushy way. Let's face it, you get out of dog training what you put into it. The prices are also very good for the quality of class you get. My girl passed her test and is now a registered therapy dog. Yes, her natural sweetness and love of people had a big part in it, but so did the class. Thanks Joan! read more

I do not understand why Diana at the grooming salon was so unpleasant with us. I had an puppy trim appointment for my puppy at 11:30, so I called to confirm, this nice woman told me I could bring him in early. I brought him there at 10; the same super nice lady told me "we usually tell people it will be a couple of hours, but he should be quick." she holds him gently, waves his paws at me as I say bye and walk back out into the store. After waiting at the store for an hour, I decided to come and check on him. I was talking to someone else at the desk, when this different woman named DIANA interrupts and just went completely off on me. "we tell everyone it's 4 hours" "why did you bring him in so early" "we tell everyone it's 4 hours" "just because you bring him early doesn't mean he gets to get cut before any other dog" "we tell everyone it's 4 hours" "I have 5 other dogs I have to work on" "we tell everyone it's 4 hours" "I don't understand why you brought him in so early" "who told you to bring him early?" "we tell everyone it's 4 hours" She kept holding up 4 fingers and repeating herself like I was a moron for asking one question about my puppy. When she finally finished talking, I told her I understand that, I just wanted to ask to see how he was doing. "He's fine. He had his bath." "We tell everyone its 4 hours" I wanted to tell her what I was told by a different employee, but everyone working there looked so terrified of her. 4 hours later, my boyfriend was heading home from work, so I told him to go ahead and check on the puppy. Well guess what, DIANA gives him the exact horrible lecture. I understand being overworked and upset on a Saturday, but my puppy was only just getting started with his cut after 4 whole hours when my bf got there. So why? Why was she so upset that my bf was there if my puppy had only 30 more minutes left at most? She then proceeds go to the back to lash out at another employee over the ordeal of my bf just innocently checking on our puppy after 4 hours. Not only that, but no one verified that my bf was the owner of my puppy. Anyone can come in and just take my dog, so long as they just know his name? Not only that, but my bf almost brings my puppy home without the leash and collar that I left with my puppy, because no one gave it back to him. Why are you accepting appointments at early times, only to keep these poor dogs in kennels for hours, until you can get to them? Why on earth are you letting someone like Diana work in your establishment and not only treat your customers this way, but your other amazing employees? read more

We sent our pups for a day of camp here since it's closer to our home. The day of camp is a great way to see if it's a good fit before overnight boarding. The dogs had a great time and weren't stinky when we brought them home. (We didn't pay for bathing after play.) I'd gladly take my pups here again. read more

Do not take your dog here to get groomed! I took my border collie lab in and asked for them to trim her legs and tail and to clean up her fur, NOT SHAVE HER. I had a really good experience at this location. Yesterday I went and got me a small female senior chihuahua from the animal shelter. She is so sweet and when I found out she was only there due to her owner passing I couldn't pass on her. I came to this location to buy her some dog food and I was greeted by the manager asking if I needed help. Asked her where the dog food section was for science diet and she told me where to go. While in the aisle trying to figure out what to get her the same manger assisted me again with educating me on the type of food she might need. She even mentioned if it doesn't work out to bring it back and they will refund or exchange with no problem. She even carried the dog food for me to the register when I was ready to check out. She was also there listening to me when I told her yesterday my family decided to send our 12.5 yr old Lab mix, we rescued from the shelter 12.5yrs ago, to doggie heaven since he was dying from Valley Fever. She reminded me that I also saved a life that same day but I honestly feel bad due to the timing it all happened. Overall, she listened and was there to assist me. Even the girl checking me out was sympathetic for me too. Everyone there was nice that I interacted with. I even stopped by the Per hotel and the girl working there answered any questions I had. She even gave me a brochure of the services they offer. I definitely will come back to this location. read more

So I will write the review from his point of view: "Make sure that your mom has all of her paperwork in order when you get there the first time. My mom is a little disorganized, but she always comes through. They will even ask you for an emergency contact in case something happens, so you may want to have someone in mind. I had a fun day of running and playing. The only problem is that sometimes I am wet at the end of the day..I don't know why. I just know that my mom does not like it because I get paw prints on her tan seats. They did give me a peanut butter treat which cost my mom $4..eh...probably better to buy a bag of pupperoni." Well there you have it. The reason for 3 stars is that I called the other day, and the woman who answered the phone could use a little customer service coaching. However, it is about $18 for the day, and if my little guy is so happy that he falls right asleep, then it is worth it for me. read more

Having been previously employed by a different Banfield inside another Petsmart some time ago, I am quite familiar with the way these stores work when it comes to their animal department and more specially the care. Usually the care the animals (note: not cats or dogs) receive from the other stores are, well, further down the list in the managements priorities --to put it lightly as sad as that truth may be. Typically, they enlist the Banfield veterinarians to care for "exotics" in which these vets have absolutely no training or experience with!!! But this store truly takes care of the animals sold here. I know this because I work at an exotic vet that they bring the injured and sick ones in to. To me, that says a lot about the care and compassion for the creatures (your future baby!) this store sells you. I honestly wish I could say the same about other Petsmarts. Maybe, one day, the upper levels will see these companion pets as true living creatures in need of proper vet care. As an animal lover, one can only hope!! If you're going to buy a bird, reptile or small mammal companion from any Petsmart- this is the one you should go to. read more

Visited this Petsmart Friday. I called early that morning and a slot was open for day camp. I dropped my Maltese off in the morning with no problems. When i picked her up at 8pm it took more than 15 minutes for the two workers to locate my dog. The guy in the back walked up each aisle several times looking for my dog with no luck. I finally asked the girl at the register if they had lost my dog and she said no. She then went back in the back and searched the aisles several times as well. In total it took over 15 minutes for them to bring my dog out. When she handed me my dog my dog was shaking. I asked for an explanation and was told the campers didn't label her crate and it's possible my dog was picking up the workers anxiety and this is the reason for her shaking. I'm not sure what went on and why they were unable to locate her for so long but this made me feel very uneasy. I was offered to come back for a free day of day camp but i will not use Petsmart again for this service. I don't trust that their staff pays attention to detail and this visit was not reassuring that my dog is being taken care of properly. read more

No only was she super rough on him (as I watched outside for 10 minutes) but she also made a mistake shaving his knee and did nothing to try and fix it. He also didn't get the proper cut on his face. Do. Not. Take. Your. Dog. For. Grooming. Here. We have a beautiful Chow Chow. We took him in to the PetSmart groomer a month ago and he was fine. My husband made an appointment then for this last week. The results were so awful, he had to call me and warn me not to freak out when I got home. They SHAVED him!!! Completely!!! Except for his head and the tip of his tail. His appearance is wretched, but the worst part is that this can affect his health. Chows have a thick undercoat that acts as insulation so they don't overheat. It also protects them from the sun and insects. Any vet will tell you it is the worst thing you can do. The person who did this (I am sure she is perfectly nice) did not speak English very well so it is possible some wires got crossed. Even so, why would you even consider doing this to any dog? How can you work as a licensed groomer without knowing not to do this? He has razor burn on his haunches and she cut the hair all the way to the skin! They did refund my husband, but we will never take any animal we own there. I am outraged and our hearts are breaking for our sweet boy. read more
