Extremely Rude and Arrogant Wrote a review back in February and gave the place high marks. They still do a great job on grooming but at a price and I don't mean financial. Biggest problem we have had is the length of time it takes to get Watson groomed. Can take up to 5 hours but they swear it was only 4 but still 4 is a bit long. Normally my wife will drop Watson off and either she or I will pick him up. First a bit about Watson. Watson is a 18 months old this next week and loves people. He is what is called a "fluffy" which means he has a recessive gene and rather that have the soft silky inner coat and a course water proof coat on top, he has little of the top coarse coat. Coat is very silky and soft but somewhat long and still needs to be brushed out and like all Corgi's they shed a lot so they have to have the long hair combed out. It does take time and in addition, Corgi's grow lots of hair between their toes which needs to be cut out and we also pay extra to trim his nails. He's not low maintenance but we've always paid extra for that level of attention and as mentioned, the outcome has always been excellent. My wife mentioned that she thought the 4 - 5 hours seemed a bit excessive and it ended up with us sitting around the house, waiting for a call or going up at around 3 after dropping him off at around 10 or 11 am and still not ready. Susan, my wife when she addressed this, was told they have an Express Service where you drop the dog off at an appointed time and they the call you 10 minutes before they are finished with grooming. When my wife called to make the appointment and gave the information, someone in the background called out a warning " It's the Corgi" alerting everyone that this was going to be a high maintenance appointment. My wife booked an appointment for 8:00am which we thought was odd because they do not open till 9:00am. Still she showed up at 8:00 am along with three other patrons and 4 other dogs. None of the three groomers showed up till 8:05 am or later. Several hours later, we did get the call to pick him up. My wife left the house shortly thereafter and rather than leave Watson in the car while she went into Walgreens, she stopped on the way and picked up one item and then to PetSmart. She walked in and told the people at the front that she was there to pick up Watson and while she was waiting, she asked the manager about dog food. We are changing Watson's Dog Food in light of recent FDA findings and they did not carry or only carried larger bags of the new food recommended by our Vet. Susan has asked before and was told they were working on it. About that time, someone came from the back with Watson and we were told not to bring Watson back for Express Grooming because we had failed to show up within the 10 minute window of the call. At no point was it communicated that the "we will call you 10 minutes before" was a line in the sand and if you did not respond, we would be penalized. Someone later tried to explain that Express was generally used for Service Animals where time was limited but personally I think this was someone trying to make excuses. Susan looked at the receipt tonight and we were charged $11.00 for the Express Service but this was never a charge explained upfront. Not that that is a big issue because there would have been no problem with the $11.00 if we had got what we needed without the drama of "you can't bring Watson back" etc Grooming is excellent but the attitude and arrogance nd the way customers are treated is unacceptable. We will not be back and are currently looking for a groomer in the North Mecklenburg area. Susan is afraid to take Watson back here of a fear of retaliation for this review. read more

If I could leave less than a star I would, walked in to buy puppy food, and they had 4 cases on a 50% off sale rack and employees said they'd be 50¢ a can due to the 50% off the 50% off items, so we grabbed them and went to check out, back to back rang up at almost $100 they then refused to honor the sign that said 50% off the 50% off sale so mathematically that's 75% off, or even with the other 2 employees that verified they said it was 50¢ a can refused. read more

Normally I have the greatest experience in this location. I purchased crickets today, the box says 25-30 small/ medium crickets and there were 7 crickets in the box. Very disappointing for $4.92 a box. Will have to drive the extra mileage to go to ape to to get loose live crickets. read more

This was my go to for grooming for 5 dogs over 20 years. Unfortunately the last time I had my papillons groomed, one of them ended up at the vet for an "eye scratch" which she didn't have when I dropped her off that morning. I don't know what happened however the story I got was the eye was red when I dropped her off. They were concerned so the groomer took her to the vet who verified it was a small scratch on her eye. When I picked her up, her eye was practically swollen shut. She was on medication and had to wear a cone of shame for a week. Although the situation was handled, I will not be bringing my pets back. read more

I had a grooming appointment set for 2:30pm and was told it would take around two to three hours until my dog was ready to get picked up. I was fine with that, although it seemed a bit long for just a basic hair trim and nail cutting. Without receiving a call that my dog was finished, I walked in 2 1/2 hours later (5pm) and was told he was STILL waiting. When I asked what was taking so long, the lady said other dogs were more of a priority. I asked if I could take my dog and walk around until the groomer could take him and was automatically told no and informed I would have to make another appointment. First of all, if my original appointment was at 2:30pm, why was my dog still in a cage for almost three hours and ignored? And why was I not informed of how long my dog would actually be waiting to get the BASIC grooming package? The lady responded with a very rude "you should've asked for the express" -- even though no one even mentioned that (and it'd be a $15 upcharge!) For $60, this should be a treatment -- not a punishment. If you prefer a place that actually cares about your time and pet, I would not recommend coming here or any PetSmart. read more

Had a horrible experience here for grooming. Our labradoodle who has a lot of energy, has been going here for over a year with no issues. (2 years at AZ Pet Smart when we lived there). She was booked with Cera, who is awesome. But we got moved to Paige bc Cera broke her foot. Paige is awful. Just cuts your dog however she wants. Cut our labradoodles tail to look like a lions tail without asking. Then called me for pick up to tell me I should really take our dog elsewhere bc she was barking.... I was super upset. When I got there the girl at the desk was just as unpleasant and told me all the dogs were barking today. WTF. My husband worked at corporate for 2 years. This is why we go here. I'm sure they wouldn't be happy to know miserable employees tell people not to come back. Our dog has a lot of energy but that's it. Loves other dogs and people. Do not go here for grooming. Our dog didn't act like got about a week after she came back. Makes me wonder how they treated her. Just awful. read more

The manger is not only rude but also lies. When confronted about her lies she was silent. It takes four hours to get your dog groomed even when you make an appointment. Some of the staff including the grooming staff could care less if you are a loyal customer. Its about them and if you don't like it you can go else where. This is a much smaller version of the typical store. The shelves were well stocked with product but I didn't find what I was looking for (canned food for my cat). They had two large cat trees and a couple smaller ones - that was the extent of the selection. I entered the store and looked around for a few minutes before someone appeared at the register with a customer to ring up their purchase. No contact was made with the staff member so I left the store. If you are in the area and need something quick, this is the place to stop. Walked in today and was treated rudely from the start. We had written down our dog grooming appointment at 9:30, but it was apparently at 9. I walked in at 9:18 and was rudely told that our appointment was supposed to be 9, so it was cancelled. I explained that we had it down for 9:30, to which the rude front counter person responded that "we don't even make appointments for 9:30", as if I should know that. I even called my wife to confirm that she had it written down for 9:30, which she did. Ended up commenting on the poor customer service and as I was leaving was sarcastically told "good bye". We will never set foot in this store again. There is a Petco within a few miles that actually cares about customer service. read more

This is an Itsy-bitsy Petsmart. It is so small that there are no carts, just the hand-held baskets. Perhaps it should be called "Petsmart Express" or something. Shelves were stocked, the store was neat and they had the basics, but due to the store being so small there was just not nearly as much merchandise that a typical Petsmart would have. There were about 5-7 aisles of merchandise, a few fish and surprisingly a grooming salon. My dog was disappointed...maybe they plan to expand it later somehow, hopefully... read more

This petite PetSmart is much smaller than the normal size store I am accustomed to, but I like the intimate service the employees provide. It is very close to our home and every time I visit the store the employees are always super helpful and find me exactly what I need for my animals. They don't have the same wide ranging variety as the larger big box store, or I would give it 5 stars. read more

Let me begin my saying I have never given a negative review on Yelp. If you like rude, abrasive, and arrogant groomers along with being over charged then this is your place. I took my little 8lb Havapoo puppy into an empty store with groomers that looked like they'd been out until 3am the night before. The intake woman/groomer gruffly confirmed my name and appointment and then proceeded to ask me if I even had a brush at home? I quipped back a sarcastic "No." She said they'd probably have to shave her, I questioned that and commented "She's really not that bad but Ok". The woman then printed out a work order and circled an extra $15 "dematting" fee and said it could be MORE depending how much time it took to remove all the matts. I ran my fingers through her fur and said a few tangles wasn't matting. The woman then reached up grabbed a leg and said "This is matting". At this point I said I'll not have my puppy groomed here and left. I went home and promptly ran a brush and comb through her with ease. This place should be avoided. read more

One animal-educated employee in the entire store. Employees keep approaching my dog and reaching for his head without asking. What, is the store manned almost entirely by 6 year old girls? Even when we say, "please let him sniff you first, he's a fearful new rescue" they seem unable to comprehend or comply. This can undo weeks of training but these employees don't know or care, they just want to pet the wittle puppy. One employee both times we've gone in, has immediately known how to interact with dogs, and we make a beeline for her and try to stand between our pup and the other workers. We love that this store has opened closer to our home so it makes it convenient for our pet needs. We chose to use their grooming services for our dog Milo and were extremely happy with the results. Megan did a fantastic job and we will definitely use her services again. Milo is a Sheltie/Collie mix so he has lots of hair - she was able to groom him so that he has been almost shed-free for a month now and the trim was done so nicely. We brought our toy poodle in there for an 11am dog grooming appt. and got a call to pick him up @1:00pm stating that he is ready? When my husband went to pick him up he was never groomed or bathed? We were given all sorts of reasons why they could not groom or bath him? So he was in a crate for 2hrs. without anything?? Someone should have called us when they realized that they could not take him for his 11am appt.? Well you know we will NEVER be going there AGAIN!!! read more

Every body loves a brand new store, so I was very excited to check this new Pet Smart out; boy what a waste of space. Its about a third of the size of a typical Pet Smart and does carry any animals besides a few fish. Its basically a dog and cat food store. If they are going to make a mini pet store they should provably give it a different name to differentiate. We needed a new tank for our bearded dragon and they had one to choose from and it was too small, so we drove all the way there for nothing. Meanwhile every other one I've ever been to has every tank size imaginable. In addition the guy that was working the day we went it was unhelpful and not very pleasant to talk to. He seemed annoyed we were in the store. I certainly won't be visiting this location again. read more

We were told kittens were coming into the store on Tuesday the 18th that were available for adoption and we'd be given a phone call regarding the matter. While we understand your store isn't responsible for the kittens coming in, we still weren't given a phone call. After driving to the store, it was said to us that they weren't responsible for getting the cats there, which is fine. After calling and asking for corporate's number to get an actual explanation of the process, rather than "it's not our fault, we have no control", Gary was completely disrespectful and patronizing over the phone. Worse petsmart I have ever been to , the staff is extremely rude and the grooming salon don't know what they are doing and are rude ! I have been taking my dog to petsmart in Mooresville for his haircut and page always does it and she is wonderful friendly and very kind to my dog ! I decided to take jax to this location because it was closer to my house and he really needed a haircut The first time I took him he came out with a rash and the vet thinks they left shampoo in his hair so I promise I would never take him there again but I made the mistake of taking him one more time to give them another try but not only did they gave me an appt time and when I got there they didn't even have it on the system but also my dogs ears were not even clean or shaved ! They said is because his ears were red but he just went to the vet and nothing is wrong with his ears ! The woman who cut his hair didn't do a good job with his haircut and was very rude explaining the reason why she didn't cut his ears ,she is also not very nice to the dogs please do not take your little puppy here you will regret it read more

Very disappointed by the staff and grooming salon. They over booked appointments and took 3 hours for a small short coat dog's bath and nails after telling me an hour. Young fella at the counter tried to pull my dog when she didn't want to go, nearly choking her and I had to ask him to stop. Never called me when my dog was finished.
