I came across this 12 years Late Twelve years ago I had two beautiful will kept & groomed Bichons. I met owner at a Dog festival. He gave me a gift card and talked me into trying them. I took them there several times to bath and shape the face. In December he said they were getting too long and it was hard to keep them in shape. I said not until after Christmas & pictures. I took them in January. I said with my fingers not to cut them shorter than two fingers. I got called in less than an hour my male dog was at vet with possible seizure. in minutes I got a call from vet they had my dog doing CPR he was brought in in cardiac arrest. I said don't stop until I get there. When I got there he had been shaved to the bone. My best friend gone. Then when my family brought little girl home I had to watch her, my beautiful fluffy white Bichon shaved to the bone for weeks grow out. Never a word never a I'm sorry 'nothing'. All I know is this is that there is precedent that if a dog is under deep stress and put in water they can have a cardiac event. just my story. twelve years later. read more

Horrible experience. I've reached out to the owner via email, as well as calling a couple times, and have yet to hear back from them. I was able to speak to the manager, but there has been no follow up regarding my complaint. I brought in our two 6 month old schnoodles 2 weeks ago. I'll start with the positive. The very young lady at the front desk was very pleasant. She called with a 30 minute notice before they were ready. That's about it. My issue was with the service I paid for. They came highly recommended by friends of ours, but we did not have the same experience. We've religiously taken our dogs to the vet every 4 weeks since they were born. The vet never had any concerns with their hair being matted and suggested we groom them at six months and after being spayed and neutered. This would have been exactly then. The pleasant young lady at the front desk insisted that one of them had matted hair and would need to have a short cut. I was concerned because schnoodles are naturally medium to longer haired and our vet had not expressed any concerns, but said if that was what she needed ok, but no beard on her. We loved their look but it just needed to be trimmed and not covering their eyes. Both had eyebrows, which we discussed with the receptionist, but were cut uneven on both dogs. The boy looked like he had a military cut on his head. Also, we paid an up charge for dental cleaning. While I have no record to verify if it was or was not done, I can tell you their breath certainly did not smell as though the teeth had been cleaned. This was their first grooming and will probably take awhile to correct the horrible job that was done. I tipped since I had to pay before they brought the dogs out. I can assure you that wouldn't have happened if I'd seen them first. In fact, if I wasn't in such shock I would have asked for a refund. read more

I am very disappointed in this place. My dog eats a special Verus food. Several months ago they agreed to order her food and when I came to pick it up they would immediately order a new bag and hold it until I needed it. My dog is 9 lbs and I order a 15 lbs bag therefore I only need it every other month. Twice, in a row, they not only didn't have her food, it took 2 weeks to get it the second time. By the time they got it, I had already found a company based out of Maryland and ordered it there. They were very unreliable, made false promises and ,as a result, my dog spent 2 weeks eating soft food that didn't sit well with her. I will not be visiting this store again. read more

I waited several days to write this because I was so upset, but wanted to be fair. I went here because it was close to work and I loved the 'cage-free' concept, and they had good reviews. I confirmed the price on the phone, $55. The owner seemed friendly. I explained that my dog (havanese) was extremely matted. He petted and held her, so he had ample opportunity to discover the extent of the matting. We discussed what I wanted and I explicitly said that I did NOT want her shaved. He acknowledged this and said that she would have to be cut very short due to the matts. That was fine. When I picked up my dog, she was completely shaved. I could see her skin in spots. Her ears were completely shaved and even her beautiful tail, which was only knotted at the base, was shaved except for the tip. The face shape was not appealing at all and seemed rather roughly cut. Even that is not why this business earned one star. It is the supreme arrogance that they did all of this, KNOWINGLY against my wishes, and without calling me. The shop has NO excuse for not picking up the phone and saying that the matting was worse than they thought, she would need shaved or I would need her picked up. The choice should have been mine, not theirs. They also increased the cost from what they quoted me without permission. (This is heresay, later that day at the dog park, I bumped into someone that said they also had a bad experience here. Asking that the shop not use any fragranced products due to their dogs sensistivity and the shop did it anyway) The way the owner handled the situation afterward was also terrible. If he reads this, I would recommend a book or course on customer service. He did not apologize ever, tried to make it sound like I should be grateful they even bothered (his exact words were: "we were this close to calling you and telling you to pick her up and take her to the vet for a medical shave down and that would have cost you $200 or more". Believe me, I would have much rather picked up my dog!). He also put the blame on the customer, repeatedly saying, "Well, you have to brush her". Don't get me wrong, I accept full responsibility for the matting, it happened when I was out of town and I couldn't get the matts out, but as the customer, I did not need to be REPEATEDLY battered with that statement. I don't like leaving negative reviews and hope that I was fair. I just don't understand how a shop can justify going against a customer's wishes when our dogs mean so much to us. 10/29/12: I'm shocked by the owner's response to a legitimate complaint. His reply is filled with half-truths and outright lies. And to say I abuse my dog! I ADORE my baby and all animals. I hope people see through his response and realize that someone who abuses animals would not seek out a high-end grooming salon. Despite his response, I don't believe that this man would deliberately mistreat an animal, or that his philanthropy or passion for dogs is in question. As long as your wishes for your dog agree with his, then I think things will go well. If not, the owner clearly thinks he is qualified to know what's best for your dog even if it goes against your specific instructions - THIS is what my complaint was about. Do not bring your dog here. The owner is rude, impatient, and unprofessional. He arrived late for our appointment and treated our dog like she was just a paycheck, not a client. He expressed favoritism to another dog, suggesting to that owner that their dog was a higher priority and would be taken care of ahead of ours. Also, during a simple phone call, the owner was unnecessarily rude and condescending. I was so uncomfortable leaving my dog here that I picked her up immediately and scheduled an appointment elsewhere. I stopped into this local shop to find out what services were offered. They have full service pet grooming. The staff member informed me that it was pretty quiet after a busy day. There was one big dog roaming the shop - he was very friendly. I perused the shop and found a handsome green shirt for my poodle. There were many clothing items to select from, primarily for female dogs. We have a groomer for our dog but this is one to keep in mind for future reference. read more

One star is being gracious, which they did not show my friend after her 3 dogs were there for grooming. She wanted to pick them up at 430 but they weren't ready. So she called at 5 to check and said she would be there by 6pm. Closing time. She arrived at 6pm, not 6:01 or 6:02 but exactly at 6pm and Impeccable Paws was closed, no-one in sight. They did not respond to her calls nor did they call her to say we are closing a few mins early or we are walking out the door at 6pm. Being she was in communication with them someone should of given a courtesy call. Now her babies are there overnight. What if they need medicine at a certain time? Ok, we just moved from CT/NY so its been hard to find a place to groom our two Berners. The last place that groomed them though they were poodles and they left looking like one. So at first the man seemed very nice and friendly. I thought the prices where a bit high but this place was recommended. So let me say, its worth the extra money for sure. My dogs never felt cleaner and he removed some undercoat and they smelled wonderful for days. The best thing thought i our one bigger Bernese Mountain Dog was not liming , so we feel better about bringing him back.He has bad hips and we had had him suffer for days at other places. I brought my puppy in for his first grooming. I have used another groomer for 10 years, but didn't want to drop off a 4 month old puppy at the groomers at 8 am and pick him up at 4pm. Too stressful for a puppy. I loved that I got an appointment. 11am and done by 2:30. Much better experience for a puppy. Danielle came out and we came up with a plan. Another post was upset about the cut that their puppy received, but honestly...puppies get matted! I have had three dogs and they have all gotten matted as their fur grew in. My puppy had to get shaved down a lot shorter than I wanted, but I was fully aware of his matting. I know we all love our fluffy puppies, but we need to be realistic. Unless you brushed your puppy every day, I guarantee that your puppy will have matting. Anyway...great experience for my puppy. I have to say...as far as customer service goes...I have been in there several times just to shop. I do feel like the staff and owner are stand offish if you don't have an appointment or are a regular customer. That said...I think it because they don't want you to feel pressured to buy something or push things on you. They do sell puppies there too from time to time...I think they are really trying to let people have their space. They don't want anyone to feel pressured to buy. But I do understand other reviewers when they felt customer service was not good. I just think maybe the owner and staff are coming across the wrong way. Once you engage with them...they are incredibly sweet. Absolutely hands down loved our experience. Will be going to them with both my fur babies from now on. Lackluster service and an attitude from "the manager" Should be on the lengthy list of itemized services their website claims they provide. Impeccable Paws really let me and my 10 year old Boxer down! I wanted to treat my aging sweet dog to a special day of pampering so I scheduled her for a bath. She's a short haired dog and doesn't require coat trimming, but I thought a bath would make her feel rejuvenated. According to Impeccable Paws website a $40 bath includes about 7 services: grinding nails, trimming hair under paw pads a blueberry y eye stain whitening treatment and other services like plucking and cleaning ears. After inspecting my dogs nails I noticed they were dingy and hair under paw pads had NOT been trimmed. I don't mind paying $40 for a full service bath if that's what it is. But no extra's were done. My dog is a 43 lb Boxer and she doesn't require eye stain whitening or coat trimming. I felt at the very least Impeccable Paws would go back and trim the paw pads to make good for the shabby work they did so I called yesterday evening and spoke to a very unapologetic, rude and defensive young lady. She told me they would trim the paw pads BUT I couldn't just bring my dog back anytime, it would need to be soon! Really? I work in South Charlotte! And furthermore, how about a "I'm so sorry we missed her paws" After the conversation with the so called manager, I don't trust Impeccable paws for a redo of anything. I won't go back and based on my experience I wouldn't recommend them to any one or any dog! read more

So... we finally did it. We committed to buying a puppy. Let me first tell you about the where and the why... I have been looking on line for months for a dog but just hadn't found the right one. I stumbled upon Impeccable Paws on the web and called to see just what they were about. They are a full service dog boutique, pet spa, doggy day care and boarding facility they also provide in home dog care and pick up and delivery. They sell teacup size puppies and are specialists in the teacup brand. I was looking for a teacup so I decided to check this place out. They have the cutest dog bling around and everything you can imagine you might need for your fur baby, at very reasonable prices. What I was most impressed with was the owners Dan and his wife and their true passion and love for all things canine. They have a sign that hangs in their shop that reads: "Enter as a stranger and leave as a Friend"... this could not be more fitting. As a woman just then walked in and Dan knew her by name along with her doggie Elvis. Now, as I said, I have been looking for a dog for months. What I found at Impeccable Paws was more than just another pet shop puppy. You can find hundreds of those on the Internet relatively inexpensive. This teacup Yorkie was different. It was if I was buying one of the owners own children. Dan raises these doggies in his home with his family and 7 doggie children. She is a very well behaved and social puppy. Dan is really fantastic with dogs and has some of the most well trained dogs around. When we picked up our Lil bundle of joy Dan spent about 45 mins with us "brain dumping" all he knew about raising a teacup. I guess we had the deer in the headlights look about us because he assured us... this is just the beginning not nearly the end and if we had any questions we could call him on his cell at any hour or day. Purchasing a puppy from Impeccable Paws comes with a 2 year health guarantee as well as their puppy package which includes all you will need to raise your baby. I can't say enough good things about Impeccable Paws. I love shopping at locally owned establishments and this place is definitely the place to go to get your doggie accoutrement's and services. We have a black lab who sheds a lot. We are new to the area and found Impeccable Paws when we were just driving around. We met Dan (the owner) and he explained to us about the grooming services they offer. Yes, they are pricey, but well worth it when compared to other groomers. Dan was extremely helpful, kind, friendly and our dog loved him. Our labs coat has never looked so good, and the shedding amount was cut down too. We will definitely be back. read more

Poor customer service and a weird vibe. A few months ago I walked into the store as a new dog owner. I spent a decent amount of time in the store and no one approached me to ask if I needed assistance. I had questions about different type of dog collars, so I walked towards the guy at the register. He had incense burning, which I felt was kind of odd for a pet store. Further more once I got to the counter he didn't look up at me or ask if I needed help. I was really put off about the situation and just walked out. I dint like when employees rush up to me the second I get into the store. I prefer they give me some time to look around. So I am not complaining because no one rushed to assist me. I am writing this a few months later because I was searching for a dog groomer and they popped up as an option. This is the only place that we take our dog to be groomed. The staff is always friendly, the owner is always accommodating, and luckily for me, they can usually squeeze my dog in to be groomed for day-of service when I haven't had time to make an appointment. The staff takes their time and ensures that grooming is done efficiently without stressing the dogs out. We have tried out other locations in the area and no other place compares. Although a bit pricey (we feel), it is definitely worth every penny to know George is thoroughly clean and a happy dog after visiting Impeccable! Definitely give 'em a chance! read more

We think Dan is the best!!! We waited a year to get just the right puppy from Dan because we know that he is extremely selective in choosing his puppies and their owners. Dede was born in May but because of traveling we left her with Dan and his family until October when my husband flew to Cornelious to pick her up. She is now living with us in California and she travelled here like a regular jet setter with impeccable manners taught to her by Dan. Dan graciously spent an hour giving my husband instructions on raising a happy, healthy Dede. We have videos of his instructions and they are excellent. Hated this place! The place is tiny and there are sickly looking puppies that they keep up front for sale, when asked where they get them they changed the subject quickly. The owner seemed very interested in making money and not actually taking care of my dog. I left feeling creeped out and would definitely never let my dog go there again. My first experience with IP was great... but I cannot say the same about the second visit and every other interaction thereafter. During the first visit, the owner was polite, helpful and accommodating. Since then, I've only been able to speak to the ladies who work there- and they have been nothing but rude to me each time I call or have an appointment. Secondly, the past two times my dog has been groomed there- she has developed double ear infections a day or so later. Coincidence? No. Per the Veterinarian, ear infections are commonly caused by improper grooming of the dogs ear hair. (Just FYI-I took her somewhere else between these two visits, and she did not develop an ear infection after being groomed at another groomer.) Additionally, the results of the last two grooming sessions was absolutely disappointing. It's as if they only know how to groom a couple of styles- and that's what you get whether you like it or not. They cut the hair on our dogs head to look super boxed (think 80s style) and it stood straight up on her forehead, the coat was uneven all over and they did not clean around her eyes (as all groomers should & do). It was awful. Further, they nipped our dog in several places and shaved her "areas" so close to the skin we had to get cream to help relieve the discomfort (this has happened each time!) Despite the above, I thought I'd give them one last chance. When I called, the lady was rude again!! Super snappy, irritated and sounded annoyed that I wanted to schedule and appointment. This treatment is uncalled for and disappointing. This was their last chance. I'll be taking my business elsewhere where my dog and I will both be treated kindly. I would not typically share bad experiences in depth like this; however, due to the level of distaste and lack of customer service and, in my opinion, mistreatment of our dog while grooming- I had to share in hopes this review will prevent someone else experiencing the same issues. read more

So after several years we are still using Impeccable Paws for grooming. We now have two Yorkies with very different types of hair. They do such a great job with both of them. They love to see Dan when we get there and can't wait to give him kisses. He's very knowledgeable about dog breeds and especially Yorkies. I recommended them to my neighbor. She tried them but also shopped around. She is back with Impeccable Paws now because they do great work at affordable prices. I haven't used them for boarding but only because my vet is much closer and slightly less expensive. However if they didn't have an opening I would use Impeccable Paws for this too. The store is very clean, the products are cute and functional, and I do not hesitate to recommend this local business. I would not take my fur babies anywhere else. read more

My dog is 175lbs and many places aren't equipped to care for extra large breeds - these guys do a great job. We had an awful experience dropping off our dog for grooming. We have a 14 year old Shih Tzu, who's been going to other groomers all her life. When we couldn't get an appointment with our normal groomer, we called this place. They went on and on over the phone about how they loved old dogs and would keep her calm and it wouldn't be a problem at all. They'd go as quickly as possible so that she wouldn't have to spend too much time there. So we dropped her off on the morning of the appointment, and everything seemed to be going well. The hours went by, until finally they called in the afternoon to say they weren't going to cut her hair because she was too old. They kept her there for four hours, and all they did was give her a bath and then not actually do anything that I couldn't have done here at home. The best part is, they charged me $15 for the bath. So I paid them money to make my dog miserable all day and they didn't even do the service that she needed done. We'll never be coming back here again under any circumstances, and I'd recommend that you stay away too. From reading other reviews, it seems like the business is run in a way that's looking for ways to screw you over. As a side note, they buy puppies from puppy mills and sell them in the store. They sure look cute playing in their little cage, but I feel bad for the ones that don't get purchased after a month or so and grow too big. I'm no PETA supporter by any stretch, but anyone who actually cares about animals shouldn't support this practice. read more

Our family bought a yorkie puppy from impeccable paws and she has been with us for 2 years. They offer free training with their puppies and even with other dogs that you don't buy from them. About a year after we bought sunshine we rescued a shitzu mix and he was full of issues, when I called the owner he asked me to bring the new dog in and he took a look at it and came up with an awesome training plan and it worked great! When I asked how much I owed the owner said he does it for any one who asks and that there was no charge. I will say that they are really busy and sometimes it is hard to get a hold of dan but he has never let us down! Last week we bought our second yorkie and we could not be happier. Everyone there is really awesome and offers a ton of info with food and grooming issues but ask for the owner, he even gives out his personal cell number. I just don't know of any business out there that gives you the personal service that I get every time I walk in! we live in a really small town and before we went to this place we had tried about 8 different groomers and nobody even came close to these people, now I just need to find a hairdresser for my self that's as good as my groomer! LOL you guys have our business because you have earned it and you love what you do and it shows. Thanks for taking care of our babies and thanks for the newest addition. WE LOVE YOU! While i love how my pup turned out Im really sad at how the customer service ended up when the owner wasn't there. Worst part is that i was really upset and asked for the owner to contact me. i still haven't heard a peep. I was told he was unavailable the day I was there, but he would definitely call me the next day. That was five days ago. When I called to make the appointment I specifically said that my dog needed to be groomed and finished in the morning. I was told it was not a problem and dropped her off at the appropriate time. I asked the person at the desk if she would be finished by 1 PM and I was told yes. I called at 1 PM when no one had called me to pick her up yet to only to find out it would still be two more hours. Apparently they have a blower go out and they were running behind schedule. No one even gave me the courtesy of a phone call. I needed to be somewhere and pick her up by 1 PM but my day was ruined because they didn't even give me the courtesy of that phone call. I would've been happy to come and pick her up and make another appointment. read more

I recently purchased a puppy for my Mom from Dan. He told me under no circumstances if it didn't work out to bring the pup back. No questions asked. Around the same time my Mom (74 yrs old) took the pup, her health took a major turn for the worst. I had to return the pup and IPaws would NOT give me/mom any refund for the dog. This was NEVER discussed. If you plan to pay for a dog from IP, read the contract. If anything happens you are OUT the entire money you spent on the pup.
