Some people that frequent the spot, let their dogs become aggressive and don't curb or police them. Others , are blindly yapping away when their animal is pissing and crapping in the play area and fail to clean it up like you are supposed to like us responsible owners do. Most people are friendly but, it is mainly for more than one person. They have TV's but, there is so much activity where they are located that it is hard to focus. If you are alone it can be boring except for the fact your dog is enjoying it (which I guess is the point!) The bar used to be hit or miss but has improved. While a I know this isn't a place you should be going to get tipsy even , I mean I get it , it's a dog park but when I have ordered a shot or two of whiskey with my beer , I was really ripped off more than a couple times by two specific people. The bar manager is great and I think she corrected the light pours, which is great because the alcohol there isn't cheap. I'm not ragging on the bartenders though - all of them are nice and polite. I have only limited experience with the Doggy Daycare and while I don't know what actually goes on back 'there' my dog seemed to be happy when picked up. I will say one of the young ladies who normally checks me in young, with mid-length blonde hair was not very friendly. It was like 8AM and it's Doggy Day Care and isn't cheap , probably be a bit friendlier to the customers. Other than that , it's a decent place to enjoy an afternoon with a beer, or not, while your pup plays and socializes with other dogs. Just wish some owners would be more attentive of their dogs behavior - most are! Recommend checking this place out.

This is WAS my go to spot to take my dog and now I'm done. I feel like they have just gotten worse and worse over the years. You will request report cards and you get nothing! No communication with your dog being there with them while you are traveling. If you are looking for a place to board your dog go somewhere else!

I appreciate that they offer later hours on weeknights, and they ALWAYS fit us in, even if it's close to closing time. That's usually when our dog seems to have issues, too, when our usual vet is already closed. No matter who we have seen--or at what time--we have received exceptional care at NMAH. So far, we've seen Dr. David James, Dr. Paul Kritzinger, Dr. Schaff (now retired), Dr. Kimberly Renehan, Dr. Rachel Spickler, Dr. Katie Blackard, and Dr. Anna Shaffer. The doctors are extremely thorough, and we always leave feeling like JoJo has been well cared for. They are also great about emailing us visit summaries and aftercare instructions, and they share details of our visits with our usual vet to ensure communication of her treatment plans. Even NMAH's technicians and front desk staff are wonderful. Everyone is just so warm and compassionate, and they understand the urgency of our situations. We highly recommend NMAH!

I have been to 3 so far; the first two were nice, but didnt particularly stand out. Fortunately, Dr Holland did at North Mecklenburg Animal Hospital. I have brought in 2 of my cats so far, and each time Dr Holland has been great with them, and has researched info on medications and options with specialists both for my cats with FIP and with eye issues; both visits, he was understanding about pricing concerns and gave options that I felt were fair and helpful, including thorough emails with additional info and follow up. The office is impeccably clean and the staff very kind. I have passed his info on to the rest of the family, and finally feel that we've found our new vet.

Our experience wasn't stellar, although I'm sure this service works well for some. First of all,…read morethe owners customer service is good, and she clearly cares about dogs and her business. It just didn't work for us. And I've learned that my experience is rarely unique so if this helps someone who has similar situation here we go: We have a puppy that has some people fear, she's a rescue. She does ok if strangers don't reach for her head and they allow her to approach them first. Otherwise she'll growl and back away. (We met her sister when they were almost a year old and the sister was much worse. We have had our dog in training and she's improved drastically). Anyway, this service was going to come take our dog for walks. Robin was not available, although she came over to meet and assess first before approving us as clients, and so she had a younger girl that was working for her come over. This girl seem like she loves dogs and she did not seem uncomfortable with our pups anxiety so we allowed her to take the dog for a walk one morning, and we would be out when she returned but she was to let us know how it went. We didn't hear anything back until we sent repeated texts that day then heard from the owner that "something happened" and it didn't go well, But she knew nothing else. We were really worried since this was one of the first times a virtual stranger walked our dog for us. The girl didn't got back to us nor did the owner until the next day! I finally tracked the girl down and she said she was uncomfortable walking our pup- it didn't go well because she growled at someone and pull on the leash on the walk. well I was really relieved it wasn't something worse, but fully annoyed that she gave us zero feedback and let us just wonder and then seem to be really flaky. I can handle my dog although it's my first because the trainer explained to me how you teach a dog to walk on a leash and what to do when the dog growls or try to chase a squirrel. To me these are kind of basic dog things but this girl was unsettled. She told us she could not walk our dog anymore because she lunged on the leash etc. I am very inexperienced and I'm able toWalk my dog. Or if a problem arises I can predict/solve it with my very little training. This girl decided that the dog would be without behavior issues if we let her have free roam of the house. That is the opposite of what our trainers who have been doing it for 25 years and other friends with dogs have saidOur puppy does well in predictable routine's and experiences. She has a large penned area in the kitchen when we are not homeand she's allowed to freely roam the large kitchen and the backyard. But she's a puppy and has accidents and chews so we're certainly not going to let her roam the house on her own. I pursued this line of thinking but I didn't get any satisfying answers. My overall experience is that this service is quite amateur although loving. So might be right fit for the right owners and the right dog. Incidentally, with a little more searching we found the right puppy play groups and walkers for our very good but fearful pup.

Robin sent us daily updates via text, and even a few pictures, which really helped to make us feel at ease that the cats were doing okay. My time at Dogs by Andy was a game changer in the best most positive way. First, a little…read morebackground: In April 2015 I fostered a 5 wk old female GSD rescued from a litter that had been rejected by the mother. I feel in love with her & formally adopted her at 8 wks naming her Daytona. I've had dogs all my life, a Poodle, Beagle, Shiba & currently a Jack Russell Shorty. But, Oh My, a German Shepherd is a whole other ball game! I read the books & tried doing basic obedience with her. Yet as she grew & grew her "little" personality showed itself more & more. She is very sweet & loving, But she is also a temperamental drama queen who wants to have her way ALL the time. Well Thanksgiving night 2015 I took her out & didn't notice the neighbor was also out with his dog, an unfixed female Pit ... ya that did not end well for me. Daytona lunged toward the Pit & jerked me off my feet before I could stop her, throwing me face first into the concret, bruising my chin, blooding my mouth & breaking my hand :( I spent the holidays in a cast up to my elbow, but the worst part was that my confidence in handling her was broke as bad as my hand. I was faced with either giving her back to the rescue to find another home or getting some professional help. Enter Dogs by Andy! The single most important decision I have ever made in my dog owner life. My husband works in auto racing so I had heard of Andy through the racing grapevine. As soon as my cast was off & I was done with PT in March 2016, Daytona & I were in for an evaluation with Andy & Fred. The eval was relaxed & comfortable taking place in their indoor training area where Daytona could safely run around as we got to know each other discussing my situation & goals. I decided on the 10 week off-lead eCollar program. I have to note how much I appreciated meeting & enjoyed talking with the owner, Andy. Although he may seem a bit ruff around the edges at first, I found him to be a highly knowledgable & experienced trainer with a exceptional commitment to giving the very best he can to making all dogs the best they can be along with their owners! One look around the facility and it is obvious how much love & care has gone into it. Also, given I'm a GSD owner, I have to mention that during my time there I was able to observe Andy interact with & train Shepherds & Malinois for his personal protection program. Frankly it was awe inspiring to watch & after witnessing Andy's connection with these strong breeds, I wouldn't consider bringing any kind of strong naturally protective dog to anyone other than Andy & his team to train. Daytona & I began our first 5 sessions of on-lead training with Fred learning sit, down, stay, heel, and come. I struggled with my timing on top of a lack of confidence, but I can't say enough how amazingly kind & patient Fred was with me. I began feeling like there actually was hope. Due to an unexpected scheduling conflict, Stephanie took over for the last 5 sessions of off-lead training & the correct use of an eCollar. Stephanie specializes in protection training & all I can say is Wow, what an absolute pleasure it was working with her. Her abilities are extraordinary, she is as strong & knowledgable as she is lovely & kind. My dear ornery girl Daytona with all her "my way" drama met her match in Stephanie & it was awesome! She also took the extra time to understand & address my personal concerns such as Daytona's aggressiveness toward other female dogs. By the end of our time with her, Daytona was head-over-paws in love willing do anything for her & I had a new sense of confidence in myself & in my beautiful German Shepherd. I was sad to see our 10 weeks come to an end as I feel everyone at Dogs by Andy have become a part of our extended doggie family. In addition to training I have boarded both of our dogs, Daytona & our shorty Jack, Duncan, at Andy's and they both do very well happy & healthy when I pick them up. I've had them do Daytona's grooming too the anti-shedding treatment is a must have! They also carry the Victor brand of dog food, which Daytona has done very well on. In the months since we have complete our training in May 2016 my relationship with Daytona has only improved. I would highly recommend learning the appropriate use of an eCollar particularly with a breed such as a GSD, it has been a godsend for us many times over. But, as will always be her nature, she still gets a little ornery so being able to bring her in for the rest of her life to get a little training refresher when I feel she needs it is an extra reassuring commitment Dog's by Andy gives you. Finally I have to acknowledge Kendall who assisted with training a few times & was a pleasure to work with. Along with giving big props to Robin who handles all the ins-and-outs of appointments & questions. She always has a smile on her face & joy in helping you no matter how big or small the task.
