Terrible hair cut long straggly hairs and uneven patchy cut
    Ronald C.

The manager cut our dog while grooming her, didn't bandage it and was going to send her home that way. I noticed after we left and she was squatting to pee. Cut deep down in the loose skin by back leg you can see the meat of the leg 1/2 in long area of skin missing almost the size of a dime. Then didn't act remorseful just said, "we have insurance if you want to take her to the vet". I was so mad. I wanted to punch this woman in the face! She hasn't stopped shaking since I picked her up. I mean she didn't even bandage it I had to take her back in and request it! She put antibiotic ointment and a band aid on it. And the hair cut is the WORST she has ever had. It's as bad as when we groomed her ourselves during Covid. Never again!

5 STARS! We cannot recommend enough! Our old boy has visited several times over the past 3 years, always coming home looking beautiful. Yesterday, he had a medical emergency while at the salon. Staff immediately called us and dealt with the situation with empathy and love throughout. Upon returning to thank staff and let Sabrina see that our boy was doing ok, the caring approach continued. Wonderful staff and fantastic services. Highly recommend as a local, caring s-paw for your fur babies.

This was when the first time when we took him to the emergency vet.

We took our do to get groomed 7/6/2024, maybe like 30 minutes into his appointment my mom gets a call and they're telling her she has to come pick up our dog because he has been injured. They told us it wasn't bad and it was just a little snip. When we picked him up we noticed there was more blood than how it was described. We took him home in hopes that it would stop because we couldn't tell how bad it was. After a while of doing everything the vets were telling us he had not stopped bleeding so we had to take him to the emergency vet where we're paid $700 for him to get stitches and were told to schedule and appointment with his vet. We did which is where they got him all cleaned up and showed us the picture on the right. This was no small cut and when we tried to communicate with Pet pause they were extremely rude and even hung up on me. I have continued to try to communicate with them and they kept telling me I had to wait for their insurance and that it took 90 days. It has been way over 90 days. We have spent over $1000 in vet bill because of something their inexperienced groomer did. We had to take our dog to the vet multiple times after that initial vet visit for follow up's and continued care. We've asked for them to cover the emergency vet bill which was $700 and the vet bill where there had to again put him under and cauterize his ear because of how bad it was, which was a total of $800. Do NOT take your dogs here as they are not professionals and are not willing to own up to their mistakes when they've injured your dog.

I gave their grooming services a try today and was very pleased with the results. We have had some bad grooming experiences in the past but being able to see the grooming rooms is nice and everyone on staff was friendly and accommodating. They also listened to what I wanted. In the past groomers have cut my naturally shaggy dogs hair way too short, or left a lot of excess shag and charged me a ton for doing what I could have done at home. These guys did exactly what I asked and their prices are fair. I got the whole shebang (bath, hair cut, nail trim and grind, ear cleaning, gland cleaning, and a fresh happy pup) all for $80. My dog is large and has a lot of fur, so I expect to pay around that amount no matter where we go. Brad was our groomer and was very nice and seemed to handle my stubborn boy quite well.

Fresh bath and nails! Thanks Pet Pause!!

Wonderful experience!!! I called and spoke to Allison and she got us in same day. When I arrived they were actually filming a segment for their weekly rescue dogs who need adoption. Of course as a rescue dog mom I knew I had found the right place! They have a boutique with adorable dog/cat people clothes, accessories etc and also have a pet bakery onsite. They were trying out a new dog muffin recipe when I was there. The staff were super friendly and my dogs bath and nail trim literally was the fastest I have ever experienced. Hands down great people, place and experience. Thank you Pet Pause!

He is all clean and happy!

An amazing experience, bring your dog here!!!!! It was easy to make an appointment online. The…read moreladies at the front desk were all very friendly and the groomer made sure she knew exactly what we wanted. She did SUCH a great job!!! He looks adorable. He's a doodle and had some matting and she was able to shave just where he was matted and leave everything else fairly long (like I asked). Typically when I pick him up from other groomers, he is completely shaved from being matted but not here. He is so soft and fluffy. I also love that they are a stay and play!! So you can drop your dog off at any point, and pick them up at any point during business hours. No late fees, no extra charges!!! I love this- I always hate planning my day around when my dog is going to be ready at other groomers. It seemed like the dogs were just wandering around the grooming area and there was a little area for strictly playing, but it's not like they take them to a separate room or outside, but I still love how they socialize and aren't caged!! It was pricy- at other groomers I have paid $80-$90 for a groom and here it was $105, but that also includes getting to play and socialize for as long as you need, so I think it's worth it!! I will note, they charge a 4% credit card fee if you use one. But they don't if you Venmo or pay cash. We will definitely be back!

I brought my dog here for a full groom. They told me it would be $80-$100 based on his size. When I…read morearrived the environment felt very stressed from so many dogs barking. I was told he would be ready in 4 hours. I called after 4 hours and they said they were starting him then. After 6 hours he was ready for pick up and then they told me it cost $120!!! I could tell my dog was stressed and he was shaking. I would like to say that the groomer was amazing. She came out and talked to me about what I wanted before dropping him off and called me when he was ready and was so sweet. I think the management is over booking things. If I dropped my dog off at 10am and he isn't ready until 4pm that is ridiculous. I will not be going back .

Thank you for your kindness! This was the first time my dog has received professional grooming…read moreservices. She's a rescue, and very nervous and scared of almost everything, so I was really hesitant. From the moment I called to book an appointment, to when I picked her up, the staff was so kind. As expected, she didn't cooperate very well, but instead of the staff making me feel guilty or shaming my dog, they nicely recommended I talk to my vet about a calming medication to help with the next appointment. Thank you Amanda, and the front desk staff!

Absolutely Horrible Experience. Do Not Take Your Dog Here!…read more We took our puppy to Modern Pet Salon for the first time because we heard they use scissors instead of clippers, which we thought would be gentler. It turned out to be a terrible mistake. We specifically asked them multiple times not to cut too much of her hair, especially since she doesn't like it, but they insisted she had too many tangles and needed a full trim. Not only did they ignore our request, but they cut our puppy twice, both on her ears--areas where there was no tangled hair at all. They even called us during the appointment to say she was bleeding. Later, they claimed it was because she had an ear hematoma and that they had just trimmed it. That was a complete lie. We took her to the vet, who confirmed that the injury was a fresh cut from grooming and not from any medical condition. She did not have a hematoma. They hurt her, and then tried to cover it up. They also asked us to use an old sock to cover the wound, which felt incredibly unprofessional and careless. Since then, our puppy has been extremely uncomfortable. She keeps shaking her head, clearly bothered by her ears, and she has been very sad and withdrawn. This is the first and only time something like this has ever happened to her. I'm beyond disappointed. Not only should they have never charged us for this awful experience, but they should not be handling dogs, especially sensitive breeds like doodles, if they can't do so safely and honestly. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. Please protect your pet and take them somewhere else.
