This place has good reviews so I gave them two chances. Hoping my first experience was a fluke. They are also the only groomer that is super easy to get an appointment with. I know why. First experience, my poor maltese came home completely shaved when I asked for a trim. Ears not cleaned, nails long, and his skin red? To add insult they charged me $10 more at pick than what I was quoted. Last experience, I took him for a bath and nail trim. He came home with a dirty face, long nails, and half the hair on his tail cut off. This time the charge at pick up was $15 more than I was quoted. He weighs 5lb, gets a weekly bath and brush, and they charged me $45. So ridiculous. Lesson finally learned, I'll wait as long as it takes to get an appointment at a reputable groomer from now on. It's great when owners respond by hurling insults at their customers. It shows their true colors for all potential clients to see. It also removes any guilt of leaving an honest review.
I adopted a Great Pyrenees from the shelter, and she came horribly matted and smelly. I thought she would need a full body shave, but QC Canine Design was able to save most of her coat!!! She is super clean, her coat is brighter, and she smells great. You can tell she feels good about herself! The results speak for themselves. Look at the attached pictures. In the "before" picture, her legs and belly have lots of mats and the coat is dingy. In the "after" picture, she is groomed and her legs are shaved but still kinda fluffy which is a miracle! My groomer's name was RiRi, and they did a great job. The QC Canine Design team was professional, and I will definitely going back to help me manage this big baby!
We just moved to the area and my fur child was in desperate need of grooming. Sara was super nice and helpful on the phone when I called to make an appointment. She asked questions about my dog and what kind of cut I was looking for. I was able to get in for an appointment very quickly! After dropping my dog off, she was ready to be picked up after about 3 hours and she looked great! Perfect breed cut, smelled fantastic, claws nice and trimmed, and finished off with a cute bandana. My dog is very much my child so I'm really happy to see she was well taken care of and happy when she came home. Thank you all!! :)
They were nice enough, but my dog's haircut looks awful. It's lopsided, cut down much more than I asked, and they didn't listen to any of my very specific requests. They were supposed to cut down my bichpoo's hair by half, it's much more than that. It's unfortunate because like I said, they were very nice, it's just the worst haircut my pup has ever had.
This was a place where they used to cut my baby's hair pretty nice at a decent price ($55) I have a little 10lb Maltipoo , super fluffy. Today I took her in and I had no problem I let lady know I was wanting to keep her length it was ok if they did trim her down a little , I even expressed if they could keep her teddy bear face (round) but when I picked her up her hair was soo short and no teddy bear face. Now when she went it she wasnt matted. Not only that but they charged me $67. And I had ask them why was it so pricey this time she's a small dog , they said bc our prices went up and the type of haircut I asked for... and Here I am wondering what haircut bc they only thing I asked was teddy bear face and did not have that what so ever. I'm truly sad bc she looks so cut down , patchy and her face look boxy :/ I really wanted to support this small business but I can't even validate them , money is the least of the problems but I can't even say the haircut was worth the price.
First time here ;) my Maltipoo puppy came back with a whole shaved body and they charged $85? I don't mind if my puppy's cut was cute enough. Well I just moved to Charlotte from New York City and I've never been to pet-spa in the city where they charge this much for not cute shaving? Because of matted hair? Please that's not the problem. Problem was no professional groomer who can handle in proper way cut. They should've told us if they scratched my baby's leg like this blood? My puppy only weight 6lbs. First and last time! I could've been to Petsmart. Thank you so much!!
The first thing you should know about me is that I care more about my dog's hair than my own. Our boy Rafferty is a Tibetan terrier. They've got hair, and they've got lots of it. They're also pretty rare in the United States, which means that a lot of people don't know how to cut their hair correctly. QC Canine Design was the third grooming salon I've tried here, and it's a hit! I've now gotten two of Rafferty's haircuts done there, and I'm really pleased with the results. The groomers take time when you check in to find out the exact cut you want. The shop is clean, and they let the dogs play with each other while waiting if they're friendly. And they don't put that disgusting fake scent that smells like a 14-year-old girl who just discovered the Rite Aid perfume aisle. Raffie just smells clean and delightful. I'm glad I found them!
I found out about QC Canine when I first moved to the Charlotte area from a simple Yelp search. I wanted to find a grooming salon where my fur baby is would feel like he's a walking into an upscale spa for dogs. I found just that. My baby, Romeo, has been with QC Canine for almost 3 years. The owners are both so wonderful & they always do their best to get Romeo in with my busy schedule. I've never been unhappy with Romeo's cut. They know that I like his ears cut short to the leather, teddy bear cut, with his signature blue tail. He comes home each time so relaxed and happy from his "spa days". So grateful to have found Sara and Thomas. Thank you for taking such great care of my little man all these years.
With so many options to choose from for a groomer - Dillon (my 6 lb malshi) and I are happy we found QC Canine Design. The location is easy to get to and there is a lot located in the back - so plenty of parking. I took Dillon for his first puppy cut and it was a great success. He came out looking so dapper. The staff is friendly and you can tell they love animals. I felt completely comfortable with Dillon in their care. When I picked him up he seemed happy. They offered to send me a picture of him before I left too! I enjoyed that :) He had his second cut today and is so cute and smells amazing!
After being with the same groomer for over 3 yrs and one too many bad experiences I found QC Canine Design! The search was long and hard. After reading too many reviews of area groomers, I decided to do things the old fashion way... I stopped by. I saw the cute sign downtown as I drove by, and I started following them on IG. I thought to myself, this place is too good to be true. As I walked up I saw a perfectly groomed poodle walk by and I asked the owner about the experience. Nothing but rave reviews. I was totally excited. Once I entered QC Canine Design, it was better than I imagined. The business is very clean, absolutely beautiful, and unlike any grooming establishment that I have visited. The dogs were happy, they received one on one care. No barking in pain, odors, or caged environments. It looks and smells like an upscale dog spa. They answered all my questions and made me feel comfortable and confident about my decision to choose them. Today was the big day. My Princess and I were nervous and excited about our new groomer. Christine gave us a warm welcome and instantly began to bond with my Princess. We had a great consultation, before the grooming started. She paid great attention to detail and it was evident that she loves dogs and she absolutely loves and believes in her job. When I arrived my Princess was happily playing with Christine and she looked nothing short of glorious. I was so proud and pleased that I almost cried. The attention and care that my Princess received today was priceless. QC Canine Design is most definitely the BEST Groomer in the QC. I'm a very picky meticulous pet owner who demands the Best for my Fur Baby, and QC Canine Design delivered just that! Clean- A+ Friendly- A+ Safe- A+ Thorough- A+ Professional - A+ Technique- A+

I had encountered the owner (Sara) of this shop at a few community events prior to becoming a patron. Then, our regular groomer (Re-Re) from another spot began working here so we followed her along! So far I am glad that we did. Of course I am quite satisfied with the grooming outcome. My pups always look and feel amazing after leaving here. Initially, I was not thrilled about the street parking only. However, it has not turned out to be a big deal. I have visited a handful of times with my dogs and have yet to encounter a problem finding proximal street parking (Have not had to use meters either). Location of this shop is great as it is walking distance to many great spots uptown including Discovery Place and 7th Street Market. I also like that the website is very straightforward with pricing estimates and listing services. I love the design of the shop. The lobby is spacious and artsy, very cute. There is a play area for the pups (within the grooming area) with a window so that I can peek in on my pups, which I love. All the staff that I have encountered seem easy-going and efficient. Pricing is comparable to what I paid at our previous grooming location. A groom can be pricey depending on add-ons, but the quality of grooming is certainly worth it. I do not have any complaints per se, but I wish there was a way for customers to schedule online/via email (or at least make the request via email/online) For my first appt I emailed to schedule (and I don't recall if it took long for a reply), but I was advised that it is best to call to schedule. I'm not a fan of calls so now I try to schedule ahead [in person] when I take my dogs. Also the check-out process can be a little tricky, so it is best to use cash. On my very 1st visit I ended up getting locked out of using my card (by the bank) due to multiple swipes (clerk thought the transaction cancelled, but it didn't). Still these are just the woes of a somewhat new establishment, nothing majorly concerning. I definitely plan to keep bringing my pups here. read more

So happy to have found this place. Went for the first time for my pup JuJu. We moved down here semi-recently and so far I haven't found a groomer I love. Juju's a Shiba Inu, which has that bratty quality at times and a lot of the groomers we've gone to have no idea what he is. Brought JuJu to QC Canine Design for a grooming and so glad he was all cleaned up. The staff was really sweet and I was worried he'd act up and they said he was very good. I appreciate the friendly staff and how clean it was there. Will totally bring JuJu there again. Thanks! read more

Did a fantastic job on my cavapoo!! I had specific requests for how I wanted him cut and they achieved everything I asked for ! We've found an awesome new to us groomer! Moonie went in for a walk-in nail trim, thankfully they were more than happy to offer a full grooming. She went in on Friday and still smells fresh and soft five days later. Moonie's white "socks" likely have never been whiter, everyone at QC were extremely kind and friendly, it's obvious they love what they do!! Thanks a bunch Moonie will certainly be back! read more
