We visited this dog kennel during the afternoon. Staff were very accommodating to tour us around the facility. Its smaller than other kennels, there is air conditioning inside, but the dogs do not have playtime with each other, just separately. No physical person stays overnight. It is clean, and dogs look well kept, and healthy. The prices are good, no extra frills though. read more

As I just moved to NC, I'm having to find new staples. This place was recommended on the Nextdoor app and one of the reviews said "she treats the animals as if they are her own) that was important as my fur baby has been to the same groomer since 5 months and he's an hyper active pup. I called and was able to drop Zazu in same day. The area was clean and she was super gentle with my little guy! She even did a ton of extras (teeth brushing, nail trimming, etc) included. In total, I paid less than $50 (including a tip!). I will definitely return as I do believe she even fed my fur baby while he waited (as he had to poop on the way home and had already done so before we left). Now how amazing is that! I only did a wash and trim for him but we will definitely return! read more

Love this place, my dog will only go to this daycare and she's a feisty one. Can always accommodate my needs

The staff is very friendly however the groomer didnt listen to a word I said. When I dropped off our dogs I asked for a full bath and brush along with nail care and a simple trim for our long haired dog. My boyfriend arrived to pick up the girls only to see that the staff completely botched our collie mixes trim and chose to shave her completely. To top it off the unwanted shave isn't even by any means. It's clear that our dog is extremely uncomfortable and that the groomer either didn't pay attention to what she was doing or she just isn't as skilled as we were led to believe. I wish I could give a better review but my boyfriend is livid and I'm pretty upset with this botched job. We won't be returning. read more

If I could give this facility 0 stars, I would. After their 1st visit (which beyond my better judgement & sympathy, it should have been their last visit) one of my dogs came home covered in urine. I asked the facility for an explanation and no one could tell me why & an apology couldn't even be mustered. I was only told "I don't know" & was informed my girls were good all weekend. I decided to give this place another try as I needed my dogs cared for for ONE night. When I picked them up, my white dog had urine all over her again. As the week went on, her bark seemed weak. A few days later, she started coughing uncontrollably and vomiting a white substance. She was taken to the vet where my suspicion was confirmed, she had contracted kennel cough. My dog is obviously vaccinated. What was really interesting was as we were waiting at the vet to be seen, 2 very familiar looking dogs were being treated as well. It turns out these 2 dogs were being picked up ahead of my girls at the same facility.We confirmed with the owners they also used the same boarding facility. Three cases of kennel cough from the same place in a matter of a weekend (one night in my case) is very alarming & very scary for the well being of our furry babies. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!!!! read more

I took my two schnauzer mixes here for the first time, since my previous groomer just retired. One of the owners, Shalah, warmly greeted me and introduced me to Rita, their groomer with over 30 years experience. We discussed what I wanted for my pups, bath, kind of cut, etc, and I went on my way. Several hours later, I returned and my pups looked great! They were clean and shiny, nails neatly trimmed, ears clean, eyebrows trimmed just right, and the cost was more than reasonable! A big thanks to all the folks at Animal Bed and Breakfast! This place rocks! I would not consider leaving my two labs anywhere else but here. I have been coming here for more than 6 years. I have left them both together and one at a time on many occasions. Whether I request them to be bathed at pickup or not, they have always been returned to me in great condition. The owners are super friendly and have always done a nice job accommodating my request. We also take our labs to the groomer, Rita, several times a year for both baths and trimmings. She is so loving to all the dogs. In fact, some how my dogs know when we are in the parking lot. They get so excited to go in and see her. Anyway, if you are looking for a great place for some nice people to take good care of your loved ones while you're out of town, or you just want to get your dog bathed or groomed, look no further. read more

My dog has never had any issues going to the groomers and typically loves it. However, after her first visit here she became absolutely terrified to step foot in the facility and even peed herself once. The owners were rough with her and literally just dragged her across the floor to the grooming room by her leash. No friendly talk or calming of her nerves. (she's also only 17 pounds and could have easily been picked up gently) Not only this​ ​ but the three times I took her to this location they continuously cut her hair incorrectly​, even when I gave feedback about what I would like. She's returned with cuts on her skin and even a knick taken out of her ear. Although the prices are good, I would never reccomend taking your dog here. read more

I was referred to Animal Bed & Breakfast by a relative who has been boarding her dogs there for quite some time and had always been pleased. They require proof of vaccinations like any other boarding facility. It was very clean and odor-free. I have boarded my sweet little dog there on 3 separate occasions and am extremely happy with them. Each time I picked him up, he was healthy and happy. On the return visits, he got excited when we pulled in the parking lot and was ready to go in. I will continue to use Animal Bed & Breakfast and recommend them to others without any hesitation. I am confident that my 'baby' is well cared for and gets the human touch he craves. I also have him groomed while he's there and am happy with that service also. I have left my dog in the care of the Animal Bed & Breakfast numerous times in the past several years. The owners are always very pleasant and I feel that my dog has had the best care possible while we vacation. I feel so thankful to have a place that I trust to leave my "favorite little guy" so I can relax and enjoy myself while I am away from him. They do such a good job with my dog, Max. He loves going to see them. He doesn't even look back when he comes in the door. He runs right to the workers for attention. Rita the groomer does a great job on his grooming. I would definitely recommend taking you pet to them. read more

My 2 dogs have both stayed at Animal Bed and Breakfast, and been groomed there for several years. We have had only positive experiences, and our dogs are actually excited when we drop them off. I never worry about my animals when I leave them here, and appreciate all the things the staff do to ensure they are well taken care of! read more

We have been boarding at this facility since before the current owners bought it and have never had any problems what so ever. Our dogs love to stay there so much that we only have to pull in and open the door and they run to the front door and paw to get in. Our dogs have never been dirty or "covered in urine" when we pick up. If her dog contracted bordetella after being vaccinated then her complaint should be with her vet not the boarding facility. Since all three dogs mentioned were at the same vet it sounds to me as if the vet under vaccinated or used bad vaccine. Top notch kennel as far as we are concerned. I gave them a 5 since I can't give them a 6! read more
