Against my better judgement, we thought we would endure the poor service because the results were usually good. We dropped our Goldendoodle off yesterday for a bath and cut. Never again. The cut our dog received was very uneven and much shorter that the groomer indicated on the board. They cut off all of her eyelashes and cut her so short between her eyes that she was bleeding. (See photo.) They said that the last time she was hyper on the table, which we've never heard before at any place we've taken her to. I think now we know why she was acting like that. read more

absolutely rude and unprofessional. I went to get a sanation cut for my 3 months old puppy. Which they only booked me for a bath so they have terrible communication. Having been taking my dog there for awhile. However, I'm stopping. Had my dog groomed recently and the groomer said that someone had to hold her leg while doing her nails. My dog came home limping and screaming/crying and I took her to the vet. Her leg had soft tissue damage and $250 at the vet. Over a year ago, I had her groomed and the next day she developed gastroenteritis. It was pretty bad. That cost me a sick pup, a ruined Christmas as well as my cousin's rug, and a $750 vet bill. I've noticed that they don't clean the tables and I spoke to the manager about it. She got very defensive and I told her that I didn't want anything from her, but just to instruct the groomers to disinfect the tables in between dogs. So as much as I like the groomer I use (only reason for two stars instead of one), I've now spent $1000 on vet bills as well as a hurt and sick dog. I just can't take her there anymore. read more

I have a dog that can not stand for long periods of time because she is physically disabled. I have been taking her to Petsmart for grooming for 12 years. She has been disabled for 11 of those years. It's never been a problem before. Today they refused to take her. They insisted that she is unable to stand for long periods of time because of severe stress. She isn't stressed. She is disabled. This has never been a problem before so I don't understand why it is a problem now. read more

I would like to update my review for Petsmart. My mother and father in law got our Frenchie a gift card. My Mr and I decided to use it on the grooming service. We wanted to give Billy bath which includes the grooming and nail trim. I called to schedule an appointment. The weekends are definitely booked with appointments and walk ins but they were able to squeeze us in for 5:30 pm. They require rabies paperwork from our vet. I was able to provide that no problem. When we got there it was such a smooth transaction. Oneconcern I had was them putting a collar/rope around Billy's neck. He had surgery on his back years ago and we now use a harness. They were patient and explained for his breed that they are not to put anything around their neck. I was relieved. Our pupper looked nervous but I knew he was in good hands. They are very specific on time because they expect you to be there to pick them up on expected scheduled time because they do not crate them. So we didn't go anywhere. Just stayed in the lobby and waited. It took only 40 minutes. When I saw billy he looked relaxed. They really did a good job on his nails and bath (he smelled so good). Plus the price was reasonable! ($27.00). We are definitely returning for the grooming service. Staff very professional and kind to dogs. read more

Been using this PetSmart since I got my cat a couple years ago. I use both the store and the vet office "Banfield" there. Overall I have been pretty satisfied with everything here. My cat is a "special needs" animal and they carry all the prescription foods and medications she needs. I enrolled in what is technically their animal medical insurance program and they are very good with calling and reminding me of upcoming check-ups..as well as just checking in to see how my cat is doing from time to time. They have a really good selection of supplies and toys for pets too. The sales and clearance items they have from time to time are pretty great too. I would recommend PetSmart to others..and I have. With all that my pet requires it can get a bit pricey..but it's definitely worth it. read more

Very disappointed in pet smart today! Advertised for trick r treating from 12-2. There was supposed to be photo ops with the mascot and trick r treating (which I assumed would be different stations set up) and a costume contest. We got there about 10 after and nothing!! They had a table with a couple treats. The employees even had no clue what we were talking about! The manager even said they'd have to wait till more pets showed up. Just a disappointing experience! I took my dog here for grooming. To begin positively, they currently have more immediate grooming services available vs. Red Dog or Mr. Nigel's in Montgomery right now which is a plus. The staff is kind. That being said my review is about the cleanliness and the way this location is maintained. It is truly disgusting. The odor was horrible.. I mean just awful, there was poop in several spots on the floor and I had to be careful walking back to the grooming area (the store had just opened too). It felt so gross inside and I am regretting that I took my dog there because of this. The store looks terrible. I gotta say, was worried, having moved to Cincinnati from Los Angeles, that I wouldn't find the right place to get my dog a wash. I like to have my pug, Winston groomed once a month (shampoo, nails clipped & anal-whatever). To my relief the crew here did a perfect job and all for under $30. The extra cool thing, I've never seen before, it's all done in front of glass windows in the back of the store, so you can watch, which was pretty fascinating. This is now my least favorite pet store in the Cincinnati area because of its customer service. It is consistently understaffed and overcrowded. EVERYTHING requires a wait here, checking into the Banfield, waiting to be seen by the vet, waiting to check out...When I have my pet with me I want things to move as smoothly as possible and that just isn't possible at this store. I never get asked if I need help while I'm shopping and the employees are less than helpful or friendly. Today I waited 20 minutes for a walk-in nail trim right after they opened, only to find out they wouldn't trim my dog's nails because she had just gotten a booster shot next door. Policies may exist for a reason, but it would've been so much easier for everyone to ask the intake questions before my dog and I wasted that much of our time. I had already pretty much switched over to other stores in the area (Pet People!) for everything else and now I hope to spend even less time and money at this location. read more

This morning I went to drop off my puppy for her procedure. They wouldn't take her because I fed her. I am thankful they were concerned but they never left a voicemail. They made claims up and down that they did. It is not my fault if they mispunched a number in. Now I was late to work because someone tried to "fix" the situation by rescheduling us on the spot. That's not going to fix an upset client and the fact you are now making them late to work because your company feels 1 single call and voicemail is enough to inform someone something important. Get your act together and make the situation right with your clients. It also doesn't help having a vet on staff you scares puppy pitbulls because they may have had some bad experience. That also made it difficult in the first place to schedule is appointment anyway. I will be taking this to corporate because it's the last straw. read more

Because of this, we are in the process of moving our dogs to another vet when their wellness plan expires and have started shopping at another pet store up the road that has better service AND their prices are less expensive. This is a nice PetSmart. I prefer it to the Petco in the Hyde Park shopping center because it's a lot bigger. They are dog friendly (obviously), so you can bring your pup in with you while you're shopping. Most owners are courteous and clean up after their pets if they have an accident (come on owners, lets train our dogs better, please!), and the PetSmart staff keep this place pretty clean. Their selection is great, especially for dog food and dog toys. They're ALWAYS having a sale on dog toys, so we usually leave here with a new treat for my doggy every time we come in here. Keep an eye out for their seasonal sales...When Spring started they put flea/tick medicine on sale and we stocked up. They keep treats at check out for your dog, and if you sign up for the PetSmart card you get even more discounts. Overall, a great store! read more

The merchandise at this store is pretty typical. The (dog) food is good, but not great. The toys are fairly cheaply made and don't stand up to my 25lb poodle mix. The staff was very friendly and helpful but had limited knowledge. Overall, no real problems with the store, it's about what I expected. They do have a good rewards program for frequent shoppers. The reason that I gave this establishment one star was due to the grooming services. As I have said, I have a poodle mix with hair that grows without shedding. Therefore, regular grooming is a must. I went to pet smart based on a recommendation from a client who had a great experience, so that's what I expected. I asked them to keep her hair long and just "give her a trim." When I returned to pick up my poor little dog, she was shaved down to her pink skin. They even took all of the fur completely off her tail. She looked like a large white rat. It was horrifying. To make matters worse, about three days later she came down with a nasty eye infection which the vet confirmed came from grooming utensils that were not properly sanitized. This is my first business review that I have ever written, and I honestly wouldn't spend the time doing so if I didn't truly feel like people should be warned about this place. read more

Petsmart Groomers- Rachel is the most awesome groomer in town. She loves every pet as if it were her own. She is consistent and does a fantastic job every time. I've moved away from this area, but I will continue going here because my pets love her and it's worth the commute. I've also taken my dogs here for Pet school and it was great! I really do love PetSmart. Not just this location, but most all of them. This one is one of the best though, as their shelves are always fully stocked and the staff is always willing to help out. They also have Banfield Clinic, where they've always fit my pet in at last minute notice. I'd prefer to take my cat to her normal vet, but they're open 7 days a week and take walk-ins, so sometimes it's a life saver. My favorite thing about PetSmart is that they have pet adoption days every weekend. And these are pets from shelters that need a loving home, not from breeders. I appreciate that they are helping out needy animals, and they always have an expert there to help you find the perfect pet. They also have shelter cats there all the time, but be careful because it's hard to walk by without falling in love with one of them! When you check out, there is always the option to donate an extra dollar or two to help homeless pets. I love this, because it's on the screen and there's no pressure, but it's a nice way to feel like you're helping out animals without having to give a large amount. So 5 Yelps up for PetSmart and their love of animals! read more

Very upset. I rarely leave reviews about anything but I feel this needs to be said. I have gone to Petsmart to get my dogs nails trimmed since we got him in October of 2017. In December of 2017 we found out he had elbow dysplasia and he had surgery December 22, 2017. We had them put in their file to be careful with him because he has elbow problems but today they showed NOTHING but a lack of care. I usually go around and shop while I wait for our dog to get his regular nail trim, but instead today I waited by the door and watched over my shoulder. I heard Kip yelp a few times and just thought he was being a baby. I was wrong. I turn around again and I see the groomer YANK his elbow back with a mad face and Kip screaming/ yelping so much. I barged in there to remind them, "HE HAS ELBOW DYSPLASIA!" They said they would be careful but did not seem to care at all. He now is limping at home. I will never go to this location again. Beware. I am very upset as I don't think any human being with that amount of rudeness/no patience with an animal should be a groomer. Please take your animals elsewhere. read more

This Petsmart perplexes me. The staff is always polite and knows where to find anything. The problem is that they just don't have the selection of other Petsmart stores. It is much smaller than other ones I have been in. While they don't carry the version of Eukanuba my dog eats, they are always willing to order it and take off the shipping. I just shouldn't have to do that every 2 months to get dog food. Corporate should have though about a regular sized store instead. The grooming department is friendly and efficient. read more

I had recently gotten some bad water from another store and my fish got ick. A store employee named Aaron helped me find the right solution to help treat the ick with how large of a tank I have. We buy our cat food here, and it's usually less than other places, if you have their perks card. We also adopted a cat here, which was an easy process and he came with a free exam at Banfield, their vet service. We ultimately went to our regular vet after the free exam, mainly due to Banfield pushing their pet health insurance on us endlessly. If you need something for your pet, PetSmart has it. read more
